ARTLOVER GROUP

The Revival; 4th Year of C.U.R.E.S.

2014-10-23T20:24:00.001-07:00

Our humble group is now going 4 years old. These past days or even months our blog had not been regularly updated due to various reasons and hectic schedules of your Administrator. Anyway, last year we created a video collection of our avid members and supporters (see 2nd Anniversary video).

In that same passion we are sharing to you another excellent collection which includes latest active members. It pays to visit our page regularly...we have committed ourselves to promote the interest of Art Lovers worldwide through simple sharing and discussions using our resources of blogging and social networking. The increase of your creations visibility is just one of our ways to empower each and every individual talent within our circle of friends. Our international membership both in Facebook and Tagged.com widen the scope of your artistic possibilities.

A LITTLE BACKGROUND

For our New members info we actually celebrate our foundation day every November 26.

Tagged ArtLover Group was formed by a small band of blogger and art enthusiast via the internet on the social site Tagged.Com henceforth the name was taken. WE had an Online gallery on the same site called Tagged ArtLover Gallery (tagged.com/artlovergallery). We suggest you visit this site to give you an idea what we had been doing since 2009 especially the journal box where we have chronicled our small steps. In the next few days, we will try to revive this site with updated pictures, videos, promotions, etc...

We aim to give our members the best experience by simply joining our community and these is all for FREE. No obligation whatsoever, we do these all for love and to be true to the core values we have set in our Mission and Vision.

Chronicle of Tagged ArtLover Group

2014-05-24T04:03:00.001-07:00

Let us turn nostalgic after our hibernation... we were suppose to celebrate our 3rd year on Facebook last November 2013 and suppose to be the 5th year in Tagged.com. Your admin were a little preoccupied with other things so we were not able to celebrate the occasion with a bang. Our yearly video collection will be a little late but we are working on it now...in the meantime let us take you to memory lane...

A little over Three years ago during the hay day of Friendster, I get an invites to open an account on tagged.com with its feature more vibrant and candy to the eye; which lead me to realized why the site survive up to now than that of friendster (no offense). Tagged was of course being branded by some as a notorious dating site with lots of preying con artist but I saw it differently when I first set up my profile. I saw the potential of promoting my artworks there plus meeting like minded individuals especially those with same interest in my chosen field. The site allows creating a group page so I made mine and call it simply !!!ArtLover!!! using the photo below as logo around September of 2009.
It was a simple forum page to exchange ideas and keeping in touch with each other.

The forum started with sharing, discussions, and moot-point basically about paintings and work promotions ...and as members poured (we have at this time over 900 members accross the globe) I starting meeting friends whom we had regular exchanges of ideas, comments, tags, messages, luv, play pets and mafia, etc...

Within those discussion at the forum Melissa Tandoc came up with the suggestion that why not set up a single page where we can all exchange artworks instead of visiting an individual profile one by one...and could be time consuming. There with deliberation with other artist we created that one-stop profile page and the birth of !!! Tagged ArtLover Gallery!!! that debuted on November 29, 2010...a year after the actual group was established. With Melissa Tandoc and Linda Flagg as co-administrator...

The group thrive on a regular basis as friends of friends start sharing via the profile page...we are proud to say we have made the number one most dynamic art community with actual exchanges of ideas and critics. We have utilized almost all the sites avenue from sharing luvs, actual responses on comment box which was never done before and to journal entry with interviews, a little background on personal preferences on art works, poetry, and even religious and political views using Bulletins (no longer available).

Our most prolific artist then are Babis K and Theo who never fails to share daily doses of artworks. Our big difference then from other art group was that we embraces all fields of arts...like we had Jessica in Dance, Sheila K and Silent Serenity, MaryR on poetry and literature, Seb C on sculpture. Raymond and Brat on photography, of course on paintings are Andrea V. Lisi, Suzie Dancks, Lawrence Tyler, Robert Pearce,

We have used the comment box to share artworks and were regularly visited by our friends. There are some sad stories too when most decided to leave Tagged for various private reasons...goodbye was never easy...

Facebook popularity soon made us realized we need to expand...so we open another account called Tagged Artlover before we actually create the group page. And thru the help of Karen Lagra we set up a Fan Page on Facebook that will compliment the Blog site.

Facebook popularity soon transform our group .

Then, the rest is history...the humble group expands and extend to other groups as well.

Nude Woman Deconstructed by Jane Arrieta Ebarle

Sandro Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” is one of the living masterpieces which propelled nudity in the renaissance period not only as a “symbol of divine art but the birth of the Female Nude”. His Venus was one of the glorious masterpieces which cut across space and time, spanning generations of artists. Looking through the fragile beauty in the canvas, that Venus was a woman of youth and innocence, yet, in the frailty of her smile, there was an obvious sign of confidence. One doesn’t need a background in the history of art to see and understand the beauty that was to be timeless and ethereal, characteristic of perfection but nevertheless conveying a message of assurance. There is an absolute inescapable sweetness to that smile. Like, maybe, sweet revenge? (Read More....)

What's Eating The Art Communities?

2013-07-09T19:15:00.000-07:00

I don't usually talk or post about myself on this blog, this site was dedicated solely for the promotions of ArtLover Members and never to brag about my artistry...but this time, allow me to talk a little something about myself since it's my birthday anyway...actually I would still be talking about "you" guys and gals since you've been part of me since we started this group. Some realities one must understand when they chose to take this path...for the chosen few.

For many days I have not written a blog, concentrating mostly on my artworks and face painting gigs. I still do visit, our FB page every now and then...make small updates but Not that frequent anymore. It seems the cycle is returning from where I've started...or ended.

Tagged ArtLover Group signify a new phase in my life. It was the initial step I made towards my re-dreaming after I've left the corporate life. Re-inventing myself to be an artist again...Well, does one lost its gift or passion?

I kept telling myslef not to wane...and thank God those daily "Likes" and positive comments kept me revive.

No one knew that these past days or even months, despite my prolific enthusiasm in creating artworks...I'm slowly beginning to feel frustrations. The life I've chose after all, is a lot harder than I thought. I have so much passion to endure the travel, the sacrifices...even if it would take years BUT to discover the dirty side inside the art circle made me off balance. The power struggle, that I can not take...I realized there were social outcasting happening in Philippine art scene.

I remember the early days of Tagged ArtLover Group...it was just a simple community then of artist...This was well summed up by ARTner Melissa last year in her article Depth: An Open Letter to my Artner (Click HERE to read) Like any other group, especially when you put together creative people...its unavoidable to have debate. Sometimes the debate ended not in a mature acceptance. So people leave...some just take a graceful exit.
The total reverse of CURES ( Create Unite Respond Enlighten Share ) is happening within the artist communities in and out of Facebook.

DOG EATS DOG INSIDE THE ART GROUPS
The other day I have had a chat with one of the premier artist. She's one of those passionate woman in bringing the arts closer to each and everyone here and abroad together with his husband. I have learn also from her that she too had some frustrations...about the powerful struggle inside the art world. The dirty politics played within art enthusiast and the shameless descrimination to other artist.
In spite of her good intentions she was still hurled with insults and even curses. Why is this happening?
In one group I've visited just last night, there was some war of words between artisan...in the middle of its long thread I've stop reading...I can not allow myself to dip in that discussions or quarreling. "Choose your battle, Fernando." whispered the voice of my Tatay from the grave. I think these war of words deserve to be six-feet under.
Also, I just saw another friend posted a picture on his Timeline while he burned his own artworks, whatever the reason, I dare not ask. I just couldn't believe that those beautiful works are gone into ashes.

Well, life continues for me...anyway....will I be shaken? God will give me strenght to endure the harsh realities and remind me to stay grounded.

Erase! Erase! Let's forget about bad vibes. Hey! It's my Birthday. I would like to mention the effort one of our Admin; ARTner Melissa in putting up that wonderful video, what a tribute for me and I feel I'm not worthy of such recognition. Thank you so much and I will cherish it forever.

Thanks that I have become an inspiration to some of you. Kept telling to some of you NOT to call me "idol" but you insist, so Okay let's not argue anymore on that matters.

Thank you so much also to those loyal members who regularly drop by to our page and even to this blog. Just keep on sharing, never mind if you don't get that much like or approval...remember that you are doing this for yourself and not for others. If I may request, as a birthday gift, please re-visit our Vision and Mission statement. I've just realized that the Artworld needed to be reminded of these.

More than three years ago I painted this picture below..."After The Storm" almost the same time Tagged ArtLover Group was form....and now the inspiration of this work re-awaken my spirit...

You Rape A Woman Everyday

by Mani

Yes, I remember it was last in July, a month before Independence Day when the shameful crime of Guwhati molestation took place in India, I don’t need to repeat the story for there are endless stories rather cases exposing gruesome death of humanity rather bare shamelessness laughing at our helplessness. Helplessness? O! yes in some way when I or we women feel to be safe rather than enjoying our freedom (equal freedom fought equally by women too in British era), at least I often prefer to be at home. Yes I do...just because I want to be safe...I everyday kill my freedom in various forms with my own hands & I know when I will become a mother one day...I will be more insecure & will be killing my daughter’s freedom & if I have a son I will make sure he grows up and becomes an example.
