The Arvada Colts season has now officially come to an end after a roller coaster summer full of the highest highs and lowest lows. The team just returned home empty handed from a trip to the NBC World Series after being eliminated early, but the entire organization looks to build upon a successful season and reflect upon their mission to not just be the best amateur baseball team in Colorado, but a leader in the local community as well.

The Arvada Colts were shocked to learn that they had been invited to compete in the NBC World Series just days before the tournament was scheduled to begin on Saturday July 28. The team was given an at-large bid and was set to play the Dodge City A’s on Sunday July 29. The entire organization was busy preparing final press releases and brainstorming for 2013, but they would have to put it all on hold as the team hit the road Saturday morning with a new lease on their season after losing in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League Regional Tournament and failing to qualify for the World Series.

The team arrived with expectations sky high, but the competition was tougher than expected. The Colts lost to the Dodge City A’s, sending them to the loser’s bracket where they would have to win or they would be eliminated and sent home to Colorado. The Colts faced their rival Impact Sports on the Monday morning after their first loss for a chance to stay in the World Series. Despite giving their best effort, the Colts lost the game and found themselves on the sidelines.

The Arvada Colts found themselves making the long drive back to their hometown sooner than expected. The result was disappointing but the team can only be proud about what they accomplished during the last few months. The Arvada Colts saw record crowds at their home games this summer, which allowed local businesses to reach out to new audiences at the games and create truly memorable events. The Arvada Colts youth camp was also a great success this summer as well. The camp experienced its best turnout ever and the entire organization looks to come back even stronger with the 2013 youth camp. The stars of the team also participated in hours of community service over the summer and the Colts look to become even more involved in the city of Arvada over the next few years.

With the season over, the Colts can now reflect on the impact they made on the their city, but the team did not do it all alone. The Arvada Colts would not exist without the support of their dedicated sponsors. The Colts are proud to be represented be numerous local businesses that strive to be the best in their respective industries and the Colts look to continue these relationships in the future. The team would also like to send a huge thank you to the city of Arvada and the Arvada Chamber of Commerce for all their support this past season. Finally, the team would like to thank the fans, because when everything is said and done, competitive sports would not exist without passionate fans and the Arvada Colts fans truly are the best.

The season may be done but the Colts are already hard at work planning for 2013. Be sure to follow the Arvada Colts on Facebook for all the latest updates and news. The Arvada Colts are only getting started and look to reach for new heights next summer, not just in competition but also in community service.

The first week of July featured torrential rainstorms that washed out many of the events the Colts had scheduled last week. The team began the week on the road with a game against the Denver Bats on Tuesday. Rain was in the forecast and the skies grew increasing dark as the game moved into the later innings, but the Colts raced to a huge 16-6 victory and set their sights on Friday’s home games.

The Arvada Colts were scheduled to host one of their largest home games ever on Friday with Safety Night sponsored by Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management scheduled to occur. Unfortunately a frustrating persistent drizzle of rain kept the field soaked and many fans indoors as the night approached. The organizers hoped to wait out the storm, but the rain continued and extinguished the abundant excitement surrounding the event. The game was postponed shortly before its scheduled start time.

The Colts then hit the road on Saturday for a game against Impact Sports. The heroes of Arvada stomped all over the competition and left with a convincing 5-2 victory. The rain returned later on in the weekend and only intensified, causing a complete washout of both Colts games scheduled for Sunday. Heavy storms dropped tremendous amounts of water on the city of Arvada, leaving the organizers of Sunday’s event with no choice but to postpone the scheduled games. The team currently stands with a 25-8 overall season record as of Monday July 9. The team is also in first place in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League.

Although this past weekend was a compete loss for the team, the upcoming week is going to be very busy for the organization as numerous rescheduled games are set to occur. The team will spring out of the rainstorms and into action on Tuesday for a game against the Denver Cougars. The Colts will then return home to Long Lake Ranch on Wednesday for a rescheduled doubleheader against the Rock Hounds. The event will be known as “The Arvada Colts Weekday Doubleheader” and is set to begin at 5:45 p.m. if weather conditions cooperate. Thursday will see the team hit the road for a game against the Slammers before returning home on Friday for the largest event in the team’s history.

The Arvada Colts are excited to announce that this Friday will feature both Safety Night sponsored by Personal Benefit Services Wealth Management and Park Health Source/Country Side Chiropractic Health Night presented by Keep-It-In-Colorado.org to create the largest event in Colts history! All the promotions and giveaways from last Friday’s game will be occurring at the event alongside everything already scheduled for Health Night. Fans are invited to come out to the park and get a free massage from Park Health Source, a free exam and consultation from Country Side Chiropractic and enter the High Point Financial Group giveaway for the chance to win an Apple IPod! The giveaways don’t stop there though as Colts gear and Rockies tickets will also be raffled off! The night will now feature two games with game one set to begin at 5:45 p.m. and game two set to begin at 8 p.m.! Fans are encouraged to arrive early and stay late as the promotions and giveaways will last all night long! As always, all Colts games are FREE to everyone!

Before the excitement of the largest event in Colts history, the entire team will be signing autographs at The Golden Spoon located at 64th and Ward in Arvada on Friday at Noon! Everyone is invited to enjoy the delicious frozen yogurt only The Golden Spoon can offer and spend some time meeting with the stars of the Colts. There will also be giveaways at the event too, so be sure to arrive early to win some cool prizes!

The Colts will hit the road once again on Saturday for a rescheduled game against Double Days before returning home on Sunday for the final home game of the season. The showdown against Walker Transmission is set to begin at 6 p.m. and the event will feature the High Point Financial Group Apple IPod giveaway that has been collecting entries all season long.

That’s it for this edition of the weekly wrap-up from your Arvada Colts. Be sure to follow the team on Facebook for all the latest updates and giveaways all season long.

As the Arvada Colts ventured deeper into summer, the competition they faced became more of a challenge than ever before. The team experienced a week of tumultuous ups and downs, but still remained in first place in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League when the dust finally settled.

After a huge win on Father’s Day, the win departed for a road trip that would take them north into Wyoming for several non-RMBL games. The team hit the diamond in Laramie, Wyoming on Tuesday and left with a satisfying victory. The final score was 5 to 2. On Wednesday the team traveled to Cheyenne, Wyoming and suffered a difficult loss as they fell to their opponent 7 to 5. The road trip came to an end back in Colorado on Thursday as the team lost 5 to 4 against the Fort Collins Foxes.

The Arvada Colts returned home to Long Lake Ranch on Friday night for one of the biggest events of the summer. A large crowd stormed into the ballpark for “The Arvada Food Bank Donation Night sponsored by High Point Financial Group” in hopes that the Colts could win both games of the doubleheader. The Arvada Food Bank was on hand collecting donations all night and High Point Financial Group kept the excitement flowing with giveaways and promotions. The passionate crowd attending was rewarded for their enthusiasm as the Colts swept the two games with a dominant performance. The score of game one was 7 to 2 while game two ended early as the RMBL mercy rule stopped the relentless beating the Colts were handing out in the fifth inning. The final score of game two was 11 to 1.

The Arvada Colts experienced a difficult night on Sunday as the team lost both games. The fans attending experienced frightening weather too as high winds during the first game caused a brief delay and resulted in the radio tent collapsing in spectacular fashion. Nobody was harmed and the team looks to move on from the tough night. The Colts are still standing in first place in the league with an overall season record of 18-7.

The Arvada Colts will begin this coming week by heading down to Coors Field in Denver on Monday night to experience the thrills of Colorado Rockies baseball. The entire organization will be present for a night of fun and networking to promote the organization.

The team will play one road game on Wednesday against Double Days before returning home on Friday for two games at Long Lake Ranch. Friday will be known as “Thunder At Sunset Night” and will feature exciting giveaways and promotions at the ballpark. There will also be a Facebook giveaway and all that’s necessary to win is to just like the Arvada Colts Facebook page! Game time is set for 5:45 p.m. and be sure to arrive early to catch all the excitement.

The team will close the week on Sunday with “The Arvada Colts Kids Night” where kids will have the opportunity to compete in various competitions for Colts gear and prizes. Game time is set for 5:45 p.m. for a showdown against the Hounds!

That’s it for this edition of the weekly wrap-up from your Arvada Colts. Be sure to follow the team on Facebook for all the latest updates and giveaways all season long.

The Arvada Colts continued their march through summer in Dodge City, Kansas after winning two games against the Slammers on June 10 at home. The team departed for their road trip on Tuesday for two games outside the Rocky Mountain Baseball League. The current leaders of the RMBL were looking for a challenge and would find exactly that in the Kansas heat. The team lost the first game scheduled 10 to 6. Unfortunately the Colts were unable to even the score in game two as persistent rain caused the game to be cancelled, sending the Colts home with their sights set on Friday’s home games. Before heading back to the ballpark, the team took some time off to work with the Boy Scouts of America on Thursday to bring the excitement of baseball to children who may not have been exposed to it before. The Colts pride themselves on their commitment to community service and will continue to assist those in need all season long.

The Colts returned to Long Lake Ranch on Friday looking to rebound from the disappointment across the state line and they did just that. The “Showdown At Sunset” saw the team storm to two huge wins against the Denver Cougars in front of a large home crowd. Both games were thrillers that came down to the wire, but in the end the Colts managed to pull through and defend their reputation as the best in the league. The final score of game one was 3 to 2 while the final score of game two was 4 to 3, leaving the team with a 14-3 record for the season.

The Colts enjoyed an off day on Saturday to relax and refocus both mentally and physically before springing back into action on Father’s Day. The team continued their community service efforts on Sunday morning by helping out with the APEX’s Father’s Day 5K run before heading to Long Lake Ranch for a home game at night. The Colts rewarded everyone who decided to spend Father’s Day with the team by coming back from being behind in the eight inning to seal the victory with a final score of 2 to 1. The team’s record now stands at 15-3 for the season.

The team will once again hit the road for three more road games this week beginning on Tuesday with a game in Laramie, Wyoming. The team will then be in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Wednesday for another out of state game before returning to Colorado for a road game in Fort Collins on Thursday. The team won’t have much time to rest as the Colts will be in action back home on Friday night for “The Arvada Food Bank Night At The Park Sponsored By High Point Financial Group”. The night will feature two games against the Pirates beginning at 5:45 p.m. and ending under the lights. The Arvada Food Bank will be collecting donations all night and fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to the game. There will also be exciting giveaways and promotions all night long and the Colts will also be having a Facebook giveaway this Friday as well. The team will select one or more fans to receive a great prize at the game and all that’s necessary to win is to become a fan on Facebook. The team will then conclude the week on Sunday with two games against the Sox at home.

The Arvada Colts experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows this past week, and when the dust finally settled last night, the team stood proud with a fantastic 12-2 overall season record.

The week began early Monday morning as the team reached out to the local community through the Arvada Colts Youth Baseball Camp. All the players were on hand to lend a helping hand to youth players and teach them the secrets to becoming an expert baseball player. The camp began at 8 a.m. and ended at noon each day from Monday to Thursday. Each day focused on a different aspect of the game such as hitting one day and fitness another. After the camp came to its conclusion, there was nothing but smiles shown from all. Arvada Colts president Tommy Skul said, “The energy was great, the campers had a wonderful experience and our players are still talking about it a week later”. The Colts hope to leverage the success of the camp and return next year with more participants and an even better experience.

On the competition side of things, the Colts hit the road on Tuesday night for an away game and victory against the Pirates. The Final Score was 12 to 2. The win gave the Colts momentum heading into Friday’s two home games at Long Lake Ranch in Arvada. The event known as “Organizations Serving Arvada Night at the Park sponsored by Farmers Insurance” turned out to be a great success with an impressive crowd and clear skies for the night. The first game of the night was an absolute thriller as the Colts came from behind to win the game in the last inning. The Colts looked to win both games that night until their efforts were cut short by the stadium lights in game two. At 10 p.m. during the second game, the lights suddenly shut off, leaving everyone in the dark and causing the game to be postponed. A new date for the game has not yet been announced.

Saturday saw the team lose for the first time during the regular season (second time overall). The Colts fell to the Colorado Sox 8 to 1 on the road. The team returned home on Sunday for two games against the Slammers looking to rebound from Saturday, and they did so in convincing fashion. The team rocketed to a huge win in game one, with a final score of 14 to 5. Game 2 wouldn’t be so easy as the game went into extra innings with a tied score of 3 to 3. Finally, the Colts received a huge boost from outfielder Willy Gustin who launched a home run into the distance to give the Colts a 4 to 3 lead in the 8th inning. The team held off the Slammers in the bottom of the inning to close the deal and win. The team now sits at 12-2 overall for the season and in first place in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League.

The coming week will once again for busy for the team as they hit the road for Dodge City, Kansas for two games on Wednesday and Thursday. The Colts will then return home for two games against the Denver Cougars on Friday in what will be known as the “Showdown at Sunset”. The Colts will then close out the week on Sunday by working with the APEX Park and Recreation District’s father’s day 5K run before heading to Long Lake Ranch for a night game.

However, baseball isn’t the only thing on the Colts to-do list for the week as the team’s continued community service efforts will see them working with the Boy Scouts of America on Wednesday and Thursday. Skul couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity saying, “Partnering with the Boy Scouts of America gives us the opportunity to continue to give back to our youth and introduce baseball to kids who may have never experienced it before”.

That’s it for this edition of the weekly wrap-up from your Arvada Colts. Be sure to follow the team on Facebook for all the lastest updates and giveaways all season long.

The Arvada Colts stormed through the past weekend winning all three of their games. The Colts took the home field Friday night at Long Lake Ranch and stampeded to a huge win against the Rockhounds in their home opener. The final score for the night was 14 to 3.

The following day saw a change of scenery for the organization as the Arvada Colts Golf Tournament took place at Applewood Golf Course in Golden, Colo. Despite threats of inclement weather and high winds in the local area, the tournament was a great success for the entire organization.

The team then continued their relentless march through the first weekend of June on Sunday, winning both games scheduled against Doubledays. Game One saw a remarkable effort from the Colts as the team won the game in the fifth inning after the Rocky Mountain Baseball League’s mercy rule stopped the team from running up the score. The final score was 12 to 2.

The Colts now have a busy week before them with the Arvada Colts Youth Camp scheduled for the coming week. The players will be working with children ages 8 to 18 to develop skills encompassing all areas of the game. The camp will take place every day this week until Thursday, with each day focusing on a different part of the game.

The Colts will hit the road Tuesday night for an away game against the Colorado Pirates in preparation for their next two home games on Friday, June 8. The doubleheader against Impact Sports will be known as “Organizations Serving Arvada Night At The Ball Park sponsored by Farmers Insurance”. Farmers Insurance will have numerous promotions and giveaways planned for the event with the action set to begin at 5:45 p.m. Fans who stop by the Skul Farmers Agency located at 7507 Grandview Avenue in Arvada can pick up a voucher for a free hot dog at the game.

The team will hit the road again on Saturday, June 9 for an away game against the Colorado Sox before heading back to Long Lake Ranch for two home games on Sunday against Slammers Black. The Colts have dubbed Sunday “Stampede Into Summer Sunday” and invite everyone out for two great baseball games and an all-player autograph session between the two games.
