i was unable to come up with a particular 'topic'.. so i pour out my thoughts about whatever i felt & experienced in past weeks.

- Never heard much of MJ, but as the king of Pop, i salute him.. RIP MJ..

- Pop reminds me.. few days back, a friend & i reminisced about Indipop songs which created waves few years back. So why have Alisha Chinai, Sunita Rao, Lucky Ali, Daler Mehndi, Mika, Adnan Sami, Bally Sagoo, Malkit Singh, Colonial Cousins, Annamika, Euphoria, Strings, Aryans, Instant Karma, Phalguni Pathak, Shubha Mudgal, Bombay Vikings, Shweta Shetty, Shaan & Sagarika disappeared? those much awaited weekly indipop countdowns are missed so much.. :( .. Indipop did rock.. !

- 'Living' does comprise one very important aspect. 'Keeping your cool'; which further comprises anger management, anxiety & frustration control, & so much more. (its not that i'm able to keep my cool; i just realised that i need to practise doing it. Rigourously.)

- Living reminds me of The Art Of Living; a course which i completed 2 weeks back. Yup, so the substantial changes in me, after undergoing the course :

i got rid of my addiction for Caffiene. i still love Coffee but i dont go mad if i dont get it! Coffee's taste still remains my all time favourite.. :)
Yoga. i do Yoga every morning. It does work. In the whole day, that hour of Yoga, is the time i spend with my mind, with myself. i feel at peace.. (& sometimes i even fall asleep in Makrasan or Shavasan..!)
On a philosophical level, i'm trying to implement what they told. Its an everyday's attempt. i hope someday i dont need to make attempts to implement those thoughts. Nothing new in whatever they told; they were things, we have long forgotten in everyday's worries.

- Its so important to stay in touch. Because every person we come across (for any amount of time), contributes to our personality, memory & shaping of opinions. i just spoke to a few friends after 4 months.. Gosh! i felt so upbeat after that.. :)

- 'Touch' reminds me of Blackberry.. :D .. i'm dying to possess a Blackberry .. Going totally fida over it!

- i am dying to watch some refreshing comedy on screen. 'The Hangover' seems a good catch. But Nagpur theatres show dubbed Hindi versions of English movies; which completely distorts the feel of a movie.. :( A wonderful language like Hindi being used for something so unworthy.. :(

- Suddenly, Hindi reminds me of Kumar Biswas & his poem Koi Deewana Kehta Hai .. its simply amazing. Soul stirring.. :)

- & while i type out these words, its raining outside the window. Downpour. Heavily. My Tulsi plant had completely dried up coz of Nagpur heat. Now hopefully, some Nitrogen Fixation must fix it & it should get greener in a few days.. :)

- Ahhh, green reminds me of Methi (Fenugreek).. Gosh! i miss it so much!

- & fixation.. i have this weird habit of developing temporary fixations of songs. For an amount of time, i'll listen only to those songs, till i get bored of them! :D Right now, its Beautiful by Akon.

- Came to know 2 new things in English. About a punctuation called Ellipsis; which we often use. '...', yup, those 3 dots are a punctuation in English & its called Ellipsis! Also, the word 'mobile' is pronounced as 'mō'bəl' which generally Indians pronounce as 'mōbahyl'..!

- & pronunciations remind me.. i'm thinking of buying Oxford's pronunciation dictionary. Its a gr8 piece of book to have. Gives pronunciations of words as per British & American accents. Though i luv the British one, coz its the real English.. :)

ohh my God! .. thats enough of downpour! Enough of randomism! ...

Physically i'm in Pune; Mind is in Nagpur; Heart is in Nagpur.

i step on the land of Pune- a city where people build their careers..
a city of mean stingy people & autowallahs (i dont consider Pune autowallahas as people; as they are always waiting to get hold of a prey.)
a city where you put your life at stake every damn day coz people dont know how to drive safely, thus risking not only their own life, but also others'; & the bad road infrastructure worsens it all.
a city which can be a living hell, if you do not belong to the region or cannot speak the vernacular.
a city where everything has a price.

but ya, i'm here to be independent. be practical.
i & D, find accomodation for ourselves; after much ups & downs.
we are officially inducted by them.
training starts. we're into some serious work.
Mind is occupied.
but Nagpur remains in background. Family. Friends. Moments. & Roads. :)

Many a times, i come across a street or a road which resembles a street in Nagpur & i feel a tinge of excitement.
i see a happy family spending some quality time. & i smile.
i see a group of friends cracking stupid jokes & i as well laugh out loud.
i guess my eyes search Nagpur somewhere in Pune. unknowingly. subconsciously.
cell phone does kill the distance gap but not to much extent.
amidst training we dont even have a minute to think about anything else.
but still, the mind does go back to the place which made me.

Body is in Pune. Mind is into work. but the Heart still mingles in Nagpur.

English & Indian culture

English Language:
i am totally in love with it. Its not that i am damn good at it. But the fact that, it is a language with magnanimous ways & words to express; ~~drowns~~ draws me towards itself. With influence of a number of languages from all over the world; English is the only language with most number of words from numerous origins. Latin, Sanskrit, French, German, Arabic being the major ones. & thereby, pronunciation is the ~~punniest~~ funniest part of this language! The reason is that, what is written might not be its actual pronunciation! & vice versa.. Knowing only the pronunciation might lead you to write its wrong spelling, reason being the same!

There are just no answers for why, very is pronounced as [ver-ee] & awry as [uh-rahy] (!?) or why receive has 'ei' & achieve has 'ie' (!?). Why _tion is pronounced _shan in most words ? & these are just infinitesimal examples for the infinite torture this language inflicts upon its users! Also, its the most dynamic language with a number of new words being added to the dictionary every year. So, when it comes to building up the vocabulary, only sky is the limit!

The biggest problem with English is that, there is no fixed rule for anything (read 'Grammar usage & spellings' :D) whatsoever. But i think, that's the true beauty of English; makes us want to explore it even more.

& how i find it similar to the Indian Culture:
Indian culture is something close to every Indian's heart. You might not stay in India, but you can never get rid of the Indian-ness in you. Its something that flows in every Indian's blood.

Indian culture has been dynamic since ages. With numerous traditions & art forms incorporated from every territory, it has taken a gigantic shape today. & like English, Indian culture has been influenced by outside cultures as well. for eg.: Kathak is now a very important dance-form in our culture & originated back to Mughal era. Or the festivals added by the western & mid-eastern cultures. Or the paintings.. music.. food.. sculpture.. jewellery (an area of my interest!), etc. All these & many other factors have made our culture extremely vast.

English & Indian culture are influenced easily. They take in or rather absorb the positive as well as the negative aspects of various influencing factors. & like English, exploring the Indian culture can be an exciting venture. Same goes with the rules; a certain tradition which is considered good in one state might be unauspicious in another state! They both have good as well as the bad sides. for eg.: the derogatory words in English & the orthodox customs in Indian culture.

Nevertheless, both are dear to me. & its a pleasant co-incidence that they are so similar to each other.

NETless for 3 days!

It so happened that owing certain problems in hardware, my PC refused to provide me an access to the World Wide Web. Like any other person who enjoys the blessings of the 21st century, I also am an ardent net user. Its next to food, clothing & shelter for me.

After trying all sorts of things with the Device Manager.. uninstalling & reinstalling the net adapter several times, I was at my wit's end. The PC seemed adamant & arrogant. With no Google homepage to tranquilize me, I felt asphyxiated. Also, a regular user of free sms sites (!), I was handicapped when the balance of my cell phone's prepaid service was over. As a person always preferring to use dictionary.com over the Oxford Dictionary, I was helpless without the net, when I came across new words. & even a day without my beloved Wikipedia was unimaginable!

So finally, the only idea I could employ was to call the technician who had supplied the hardware & installed it. The busy technician's esteemed presence was bestowed upon us, after 3 hours of waiting. He came, he tried, he contemplated! Finally, an hour later, like a surgeon emerges out of the Operation Theatre & announces the outcome of the surgery, he declared that the PC needs to be formatted! ....!

With 99% data in my D drive & setup files in E drive, he was readily given the green signal to start formatting. Yet, he took a backup of the desktop files & began the task. With the net back, it seems like my lifeline is back. Though the newly formatted PC seems like a stranger for the first few days, the process of rehabilitation (installing the softwares, that are an indispensable part of my life) has started.

Life is coming back to normal...!

Ganapati Bappa Morya! Mangalmurti Morya!

So the Elephant-God has finally arrived; amidst much fervour & enthusiasm. One of the most important festivals in India especially Maharashtra, Ganesh Chaturthi, is a indeed a much anticipated & awaited festival here.

At my home, He stays for 10 days every year. :) & my mother is particular enough to see to it, that our favourite Guest gets a new sweet delicacy every day; His favourite being Modak. After 10 days, we bid Him farewell, asking Him to return next year & again bless us all.

Ganeshji or Ganapati Bappa or Mangalmurti, as He is fondly called, is the God of wisdom & intelligence. It is said that, the Lord himself is a symbol of many things for His Bhakts.

His huge stomach conveys the fact that He devours away all the sorrows & ill-luck of His devotees. Thus He is also called the Lambodar (means fat belly) & Vighnharta (one who takes away all ill-fate).
His small eyes depict His immense concentration & observation. (hence, He is very intelligent.)
His vehicle is a mouse. A mouse symbolises Time; which means that the Lord rides over Time.

In fact He symbolises many more virtues, but I dont remember all of them. :D

These 10 days are considered very auspicious according to the Hindu calendar. & it is also a great time for shopping, because of festival discounts all across the market. ;)

Snippet: She then rushes back to the Cinemax complex... where people are still watching Taashan..! and the gruesome duel between Virussata and Krissh is on... As she stands outside the toilet..(she can't go in - the Pee-ka-boo Curse)... Virussata drags her in... in order to hold her hostage... and with this... The Pee-ka-Boo Curse breaks....

What happens next...?

. . . Pee-ka-bo curse breaks. The curse now starts displaying its effect. If Dhamasaan Kudi even kept a step into the gents' toilet she would get transformed into Hag-goo, an ugly old witch (hag), whose lips smell like goo.

"Ohh Shit!!! what now", poor Dhamasaan Kudi is now in a fix.. Just then her cell phone rings..., "Now what is it?", she thinks.

"Welcome to AirTel's Hello Tune Service. Dial 1 for Devotional songs, 2 for top 10 songs, 3 for regional songs, 4 for english songs......", says the voice..
"Screw AirTel!", thinks Hag-goo aka Dhamasaan Kudi & hangs up the call.

Virussata is still dragging her, his eyes popped out when he saw that he actually dragged an old witch & not a beautiful super-heroine. Pant-T effect must have backfired, he thought & smiled..

but Hag-goo is still thinking, how to come back to her normal self. "Ohh yes, how in the world can i forget!", she instantly calls Minerva McGonagall , the Transfiguration professor from Hogwarts to make her Dhamasaan Kudi again. Minerva receives the call (thank God!) & tells her, "there's no spell that can bring you back. But if you kiss an evil person, then your usual self will return & the effect of curse will wear off."

Now the only evil person she knew was Virussata & he was dragging her as well, with his power. But how can she forget.. she is currently Hag-goo whose lips smelled like goo, how'll she in the world kiss Virussata, or for the matter of fact, kiss anyone!

But she has to do this.. there's no solution as well. So she leans towards Virussata, makes a penetrating eye-contact, shows a broken smile (she has no teeth) & does it! kisses him!! a long, everlasting kiss; after which Virussata gets almost asphyxiated by the goo smell. Finally, Dhamasaan Kudi is transformed to her usual self.... BUT........

Virussata screams, rebukes, yells & bursts into tears... WHY? was it the smell?

"screw the smell..! but what have you done?! i am a gay man!!! now how will i face my boyfriend!? shit.. !! boo-hoo", shouts Virussata.
So that was the reason of his sudden outburst. He was gay. & now he was even more enraged & his anger had burst like a volacano. "I'll destroy you & this city!", he retaliates.

But not just this, Krissh is angry with Dhamasaan Kudi as well, for she kissed a man other than her own love; ekk paraya aadmi. "I am out of this. I hate you. tum kisi ki nahi ho sakti." Dhamasaan Kudi is on verge of tears because of a series of ill-fated incidents. But she doesnt give up. She's a super-heroine.

"gumsum ho kyun, paas aao naa; roothe ho kyun, maan jao naa ", she starts singing & dancing around Krissh. But Krissh is in no mood to listen. He comes out of the theatre & is just about to fly....JUST THEN...

Dhamasaan Kudi again stops him. She extends her hand to open his mask, to make an eye-contact with his true-self & so that she can see his handsome face. "He's such a Greek God", she thought. BUT whats this!!!

Krissh is actually Harman Baweja & not the Hrithik Roshan she had imagined... What the fu*k! She is now at her wit's end. Cursing her luck, she lets him leave. Now she has to decide fast. Somehow she has to get the anti-dote & give it to Dr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, so that he can multiply & multiplex it & administer it to the affected people. But who will help? She badly needs a super-hero who is sure to win the battle against Virussata...

"Aha!!!! I know... he's undefeatable, unbeatable, the one..."..... & she thus makes a call to none other than........

Rajnikant!!! undefeatable, unbeatable, the one.

& Rajnikant loves his public to death! He instantly reaches the spot. He tells Dhamasaan Kudi to somehow bring Virussata's boyfriend to the spot. "now we will tell him, what a hostage is! vang-po!" Rajnikant is such a ~~geni-ass~~ genius, she thought!

& so, Virussata's boyfriend, Jaissata is summoned to the spot. Jaissata enters with much elan as if he's getting married to his love boy!

Dhamasaan Kudi decides to distract Virussata using Jaissata, so that Rajnikant can first procure the antidote with his famous Gun...
She holds Jaissata tightly, as if hugging him...
Virussata shouts, with jealousy dripping from his words . . .

Snippet: Everytime there was a robbery or an accident or anything...people used to look in the sky for the DHAMASAAN KUDI to come and help them....
Then one day she heard of the villain of that city.....VIRUSSATA...he had invented this strange but dangerous virus that was dreaded by all the people of that city....
And the virus was.....

. . . so this virus was dreaded because it spread through all mediums; air, water, soil, telecommunication lines of all sorts & even wireless.. [:D]

this virus was called 'Skank'... when it entered the human body, that particular person would feel like pants are the only place to ~~re-live~~ relieve himself from nature's calls.. it also released a chemical which made people reluctant to change their pants..
now, the serious repercussion of this would be that Nagpur would become a smell-hell with more viruses (including Skank) & bacteria breeding in people's pants. there is no cure till now as far as humans are concerned.

Skank also affected networked computers. As soon as it entered a PC, it would affect the hardware. The monitor would show only the scariest ghosts ever. but wait!!! if you try to press the monitor's power button, it started showing all bad sleazy stuff!! thats not all, the cd tray would continuously bang itself inside & outside. & speakers played deadly heavy metal music!

Skank was such a skank!

but thanks to the news channel ~~Aaj Bhaunk~~ Aaj Tak & its sting operation on Virussata; it reported the breaking news & a special report about this virus, which was not yet released into the air, so there was still hope for the people. but how much time? somehow she had to stop Virussata or at least distract him till she found an antidote for Skank. . .

Post Secret

Few weeks back, i had seen the video of 'Dirty Little Secret' by The All American Rejects. i was left kinda intrigued by these cards people were shown holding in the video. Though i didnt try to delve much in to it, in some corner, that curiosity stayed.

then a couple of days ago, i came across this Post Secret blog. & i realised that i have stumbled upon a concept much detailed than i expected. The Post Secret project was started as an art installation in Washington DC.

There are certain rules to be obeyed. A person has to decorate a post card & mention on it a secret which he/she has never revealed before in any form & send it to the Post Secret address. But this post should always be anonymous. Since the inception of this project thousands of post secrets have been received & put to display.

Astonishingly, these post secrets have revealed the deepest desires, emotions, pasts of people & have given a wide idea of how varied & deep the human psyche is.
One thing's for sure, there will be some or the other post secret which every person can identify with.

When I'm alone, I google for myself

She gets up to yet another Sunday. Every day as it passes by; seems like a Sunday with not much work to do. She wonders about ways to kill time. Its not very difficult to stay her quiet self; coz since the time she gained consciousness, she has always preferred staying quiet. Though when she is in company of like-minded people, there’s just no stopping her.. But then such people have been very few. There have been many such days of solitude. Solitude for her seemed to be a refined word for loneliness. Yet these days, things have been much different, to her own surprise.. coz nowadays when she’s alone, she googles- for herself, for some answers, for the future.. coz nowadays, she is liking the solitude..

She feels like being much closer to herself. She talks to her conscience. She is trying to understand the anatomy of the abstract. Relationships especially. feelings, emotions, thoughts as well; & Life.. Every human being is a mystery it seems. She likes to have a peep into people’s minds. & she wonders what would happen if she could read the mind of some people around her.

Even though seemingly ambitious & futuristic she might sound, she still lives partially in her past. Every day, she starts with a fresh attempt to get over it. Movies, music are like caffeine; but even a slightest emotion expressed in these forms of art, which she can identify with, makes her cry bitterly. Maybe that’s because she doesn’t express herself so much these days.

Mundane details have always irked her. Yet she ponders over the minutest thought spent over her decisions. She feels scared to take the next step as her plans have mostly gone haywire. Randomness in mind increases to such an extent that she then tries to create a vacuum. That’s not possible.. as of now at least. Because ironically, vacuum generally comes in her mind, when it shoudnt. She then tries to get herself busy in the chores & errands. These days, she has kinda mastered the art of hiding herself behind the mask of ‘being normal’. Though somewhere, she knows, something is wrong.

These days, she is into so much habit of being alone, that amidst familiar people also, a part of her mind wants to be alone; to wander & wonder.

Thoughts keep coming. Randomly. A Sunday ends.
Tomorrow is a new day. Another day to be alone, to google.

Sadistic Pleasures

Sudden realization dawns upon me, when i kill a dozen mosquitoes in a row- that i get such sadistic pleasure after i kill them with my own hands..
seems psychotic, right?!

or when i see an otherwise egotist being henpecked by his own wife..

FedEx vs Rafa

ok! i know its kinda late to write about this year's Wimbledon..
but i just couldnt stop myself from sharing about the extreme action Centre Court witnessed this year..

WOW! what a final it was!
world no. 1 Roger Federer vs world no. 2 Rafael Nadal
the longest final ever.. 4.5+ hours!
the 1st 2 sets were Nadal's but Federer gave a tough fight then onwards.
match was interrupted by a brief rain spell, but it became even more nail-biting after it.
& till the end, 1 couldnt guess who will finally win.. (though i thought that Nadal appeared stronger mentally)

The last 2 sets were simply thrilling.
(& i must admit, that Federer's aces are something 1 cannot miss!)
Nadal finally won the Cup.. deservingly..
Bjorn Borg rightly stated, "Federer is World No.1 but, this year's Best Player is undoubtedly Nadal."

so even though i am not an ardent Tennis fan, watching the best players play against each other, was a pleasure.. i am glad i didnt miss it.. :)

this is what i call .. Great Tennis.. Pure Entertainment..
