Who would have thought that after a long infertility struggle, our Little One who came by surprised has just turned 1.

We had his birthday celebration in advanced due to Ramadan restriction on parties, so instead of 29th we made it 18th May in Sizzling Wok, Citymax Bur Dubai.

For sentimental effect we have chosen Ben10 as the theme of the party because like what I have mentioned from previous post, he came after 10 years of being married.

So as to enjoy the rest of his big day, we at the same time booked a room at the hotel and we had swimming at the roof top the next day with his cousin from Abu Dhabi.

Our guest includes family and closest friends.

Now having my Little Boy I have all the reason to be positive in life. He brings so much joy to us that even being unhappy has no room in our lives.

NOW AS A FAMILY

Life has changed dramatically when Baby Marl has arrived. It's a life full of challenges as new parents yet so rewarding. There were times that Hubby and I both missed the old comfort zones that we had. Now all our time mainly evolves to our Little One.

Becoming a mother is always been a struggle for me. It came to the point that because it's too difficult sometime I can't control not too cry and if only I can call my Mom right away to hand me a help. Baby Marl has been such a good baby since birth but a new mom, coping with the changes has been really difficult especially when the first few weeks where my stitches hurts whenever i attend to to my baby. It's too difficult and desperate in the sense that I cannot do things that I used to do.

Being a working parents is kinda difficult as well. We make it sure that all his stuff and needs are prepared atleast a night or early morning before we leave him to the baby sitter.

BABY T'S UPDATE

While writing these, I'm on 6th day of 30 Weeks. Today I had my first prenatal checkup for third trimester and based on the ultrasound Baby T is in the right position already. He's head is down to the cervix, backside is on the left reason why most of the kicks in on the right.

So far he's doing well, everything is normal. Starting this time we will be visiting the OB every two weeks. Next visit will be a pregnancy scan for third trimester.

He does kick a lot now specially at night which keeps me awake most of the time.

The Chinese calendar predicts it’s a boy. The shape of my tummy indicates it’s a boy. And my heart says it’s a boy.

Yeah, I myself prayed for a baby boy. A son that will take away that longing for having a real father supposedly as I grew up or a more loving and caring step father, a protective big brother or a sweet and kind little brother, an amazing boy best friend or an awesome boyfriends. I know from deep within my heart God will really grant me a son, a son that will fill the emptiness I had for the longest time.

Like me, Hubby hopes for a boy too. Even without knowing the gender of our little one, he used to call him as Junior already. He imagined himself teaching a son with his boxing tactics or his basketball moves. He expects a naughty little boy who looks exactly like him.

All praise and glory to God for granting our wish.

FINALLY, I'LL BE A MOM SOON

"Don't worry it will come on God's perfect timing and usually at times when you least expected it." - a close friend's comment on infertility issues I have shared on my fb profile.

Hubby and I were already having the idea of adopting a baby by next year because we came to think that maybe its about time to give up and accept that we're not lucky to become parents,. We have had our routine check ups since 2009, we both undergo all the infertility test and procedures which includes the worst one, the traumatic HSG Test. We too had 4 months monitoring and treatment from an infertility specialist during the last 2 months of 2013 till early 2014. Every vacation I even go for the ancient Filipino art of healing called "hilot" and all advices from old folks and Moms we have followed....yet nothing happened.

But when all efforts has been done and all hopes are gone our battle for infertility has ended and our greatest wish was finally granted.

Our Little One came unexpectedly. My monthly period should have come 6th of September but till 10th nothing has come despite the symptoms like light abdominal cramps and lower back pain. It wasn't new for me that I got delayed for a days, I had 11 days delay before but turned out to be negative. A day before, Hubby was teasing me already that I might be pregnant which I didn't mind because it will be more frustating to know that I am not. I just told him that I will take my pregnancy test after 2 weeks delay but after 2 days, I bought a pregnancy kit without informing him. I took the test at 1:42 am of 13th September and right away two red lines appeared. Oh yeah, I was shocked, speechless, happy, worried....it was difinitely a mixed of emotions. A minute after, I've sent Hubby the photo of + prenancy test and telling him that he will soon be a father (he's working night shift that time). I've waited for few minutes for him to reply but nothing came so I called him asking him to check the message I've sent. Right that moment he felt weak thinking that the message would be about having my period. He just regain his composure after seeing what was the content of my message.

Early this year we have planned for our renewal of vow/church wedding in celebration of our 10th Wedding Annivesary. We came to this point of having this celebration hoping that it will bring good luck to our married life especially having a baby. It's been said that maybe couples who were married civilly and not blessed with kids probably needs the blessings of the Sacrament of Matrimony. And we even said that if after a year of church wedding we still didn't have a baby, that's the time that we will adopt a child which is part of a belief also that when couple adopt a child, give it a year and they will soon have their own.

I thank God for this wonderful early gift for our wedding. It has been long time since we wanted to have one and now that we're finally having one, we both can't explain the happiness and excitement.

TEN

It was just like Yesterday when we said "I Do" but here we are feeling so young and lovely celebrating a decade of our togetherness.

There's nothing really especial for today except for the fact that depiste the ups and downs on our married life we manage to remain faithful and in love with each other.

We didn't plan for a celebration as we are preparing for a big event by the end of this year.

We had an early jog/walk at Zabeel Park.

Late night, we had our official photoshot as remembrance of this event. Right after, we headed to Burjuman Center - Noodle House for our dinner.

Two and a half months from now, Hubby & I will celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. As planned last year, we will have our Church/10th Wedding here in Dubai but due to some unavoidable reasons we opted to have it in the Philippines later this year.

Every night or even any time of the day, I always figure out how my Church Wedding would be. I wanted an intimate wedding with families and close friends alone but given the wedding steriotype in the barrios, I don't think we can make it that way. But, anyway we already have another options/plans for some friends/relatives who can't be invited at the wedding reception.

Well see... goodluck on our preparations :)

2014 VACATION

Oh Yeah, Hubby and I were on vacation from 15 - 31 of last month. It wasn't my plan to go home due to financial reason but 2 weeks before Hubby's departure I tried asking from my boss if he would be willing to provide my ticket allowances if I wanted to go home, and he said Yes! So, that was it! I was home for two weeks.

It was short yet a good and happy vacation. We attended the wedding of Hubby's brother as a secondary sponsor. It was actually the reason why I too decided to go home even if it wasn't really planned. Aside fromt he wedding I got to the chance to bond with my niece/nephews whom I missed a lot. Also for the 3rd time I guess, I've witness the barangay fiesta at Hubby's place which is awesome.

Next vacation would be on December 2015.

9th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary! Nothing really especial except for the fact that we've made it through the years. For a marriage to last, it requires a lot of work which doesn't happen on it's own. It needs nurturing, tending to and time and energy. And Yes, we did it.

We went to Saint Mary's Church and as we thank God for the 9 years of being huband and wife, another couple accepts the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Then we had our Anniversary Dinner Date at Lamesa Restaurant, Asiana Hotel. I coudn't think of any restaurant that Hubby (who only loves Filipino and South East Asian food) would love except for Lamesa Restaurant and yeah, he did love it.

We started our dinner with Lapaz Batchoy Soup (only noodles, onion leaves and garlic), an immediate start for a growling tummies. Then for the main dish, Hubby's plate had plain rice, pancit canton, sisig, adobong pusit, kare-kare and inihaw na baboy while I had my fried rice, sisig, humba, kare-kare, eggplant salad and sautted beef's tripe. And we had another plate of sushi, sea food and macaroni salad. For dessert, we had buko pandan and cheese cakes. Went home with full tummies.

It was in the middle of the night and I can’t sleep, Hubby was snoring already for an hour. I don’t know, but lately I’ve been thinking anniversary ideas. Yeah, it’s our 9^th Wedding Anniversary this coming 28^th! For the longest years that we’ve been married I never been so thankful enough for having Pangit as my husband. Honestly, I love him so much and he knows it so well but then I was never been so proud of him in terms of how he loves me or how he is as my better half. During the gloomy days of our relationship I always compare him to my friend’s hubby that they are this and that….why in the world that he’s never been that. But later as we mature in our relationship I realized that you can never have someone you wanted them to be…. instead learn to love and accept them as how God has given him to you. So the other night while he was already asleep, suddenly I hugged him and whispered a prayer, “Lord thank you for having this wonderful person beside me. I may have not been so thankful for having him in my life, but tonight let me tell you how happy and thankful I am for sending me the best person to love and to care for me. Forgive me for those times that I didn’t see the good person in him; he was indeed the best gift you have given me which I have only realized later years of our marriage. Bless our union Lord. We may overcome all the trials that we might encounter throughout this journey of marriage. Thank You”.

Yesterday we had a real great Good Friday, we had swimming at Jumeirah Open Beach in the morning, slept from 11 am till 3pm, attended the 6pm Good Friday Mass and he had his whole body massage after. It was the first time in our marriage life that I enjoyed attending the mass with him. We came to the Church a bit late and so we ended standing near the holy water at the entrance. As you may not know he is not only sleeping in a cinema house but also in the Church. As we waited for the ceremony to start he started to stamped his feet in a way that will keep him awake or maybe he’s tired of standing there as I feel the same. I asked him if he wanted to go inside and ask a favor from the Minister if he can sit down but then he pointed to me the box with a word “Lenten Sacrifice”. Oh yeah, he’s really serious of making little sacrifice which made me so happy. It was the first time that he never complained and showed me that it was the best time to make little sacrifices. During Communion, we were able to sit down near the seats of the Ministers and sung with the choir and parishioners. I’ve noticed that Pangit’s voice was getting louder and he had this unexplainable smile in his face. I looked at him and smiled too, and he told me that with that song he remembered the Pastor in his previous company in Bulacan by which even if he closes his eyes he knows the lyrics of the song. And Yeah, I love him singing the song. He did so well that even if I have the worst voice I sing along with him.

Last night before we sleep, I told him my little prayer the other night. I didn’t see how he reacted on what I said because it was already dark but for sure he did like what I said. I kissed him and told him that I loved him so much and we slept.

CHASE'S 1ST BIRTHDAY

Happy 1st Birthday Chase Eduard!

It was Chase's 1st Birthday Yesterday held at Elements Restaurant, Ivory Grand Hotel Apartment behind Mall of the Emirates. It was a Lunch Buffet attended by the Birthday Boy's Parent's friends, colleagues and school mates (ASMSI - UAE).

I am not going to tell you about the celebration or a review of the restaurant instead I'm going to share with you the feelings of a desperate mom to be. Kinda weird, Yeah? But Yes! Looking at Chase Yesterday I felt so happy that he has grown such a handsome little boy which his parents should be very proud of. The more that I became so happy when I saw the Twin Boys (Liam and Yono) and my little Kuya RR, they’re my batchmates kiddos. Seeing them reminds me of how unhappy I am for not having a little one. Yeah, we tried and we’ve done many things just to have one but we’re not lucky enough.

The only relief I had yesterday for not feeling such a failure was while looking at the gorgeous ladies on our right (also an SOM Alumni), one or two of them don’t even have boyfriend maybe. It is not about judging them for not being in a relationship or not being married, what I mean was that I am way ahead of them because I am already married and supposedly I have more chances of having a baby compared to them.

At this point of time, infertility has been our worst experience. I don’t know if ahead of this life we will still have the chance to become parents. Everybody knows how we wanted to……but yeah we’re not among those lucky one.

NO TO MAKE UP

Haven't I told you guys that Hubby hates me wearing makeup? Yes he does! For him wearing makeup means you're flirting or trying to catch the attention of the opposite sex, reason why I am not really into makeup even before we got married. Another thing I am too lazy to apply it. After marriage the more that I did not use makeup unless it is required or without Hubby knowing that I wore makeup on a certain party I have attended or when I've met some friends without him.

Now that I have subscribed to Glambox Beauty Products, it somehow broaden my mind that sometime or i mean most of the times I needed to be beautiful not to impress anyone but myself.

So lately I have been trying to put on some make up to give some glow on my face (and yeah I’m loving it) and the moment Hubby saw me with makeup, the same reaction but somehow back of his eyes he likes it too :)

Yeah, it was negative.

It was so frustrating that even if we tried and we did a lot of things already and yet no good result.

11 DAYS DELAY

Pregnant or Not Pregnant?

I don't know what to really expect from having this menstrual period delay for the first time in my life. Hubby and I are hoping that I am already pregnant. After that series of medication since November 2013 to January 2014, all that we are praying is hopefully I am finally having our Little Angel in my tummy. But that is something I am not really sure also. Since 2009 I was diagnosed of having a Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), is a disorder that is caused by having excessive male hormones. All women produce some male hormones (or androgens) but women with PCOS produce higher levels of androgens. This can cause the ovaries to malfunction and keep her from ovulating. Normally during ovulation a woman will produce several follicles, but one will become the dominant follicle that is released during ovulation. Women with PCOS instead produce many small follicles, but because of the extra androgens none of them fully mature. Because she is not able to ovulate, her cycles may become irregular.

Chances are so little but all we can do is hope and pray.

UNPLANNED MOVIE DATE

After a deacade, finally i was able to visit a movie house again. Can't almost remember when was the last time we watch movie together but one thing I'm sure, that was long time ago (lol).

The only plan last night was to check out the malls for the last minute Dubai Shopping Festival offers and watching a movie was not a part of it. While walking inside Dubai Festival City along with our female friend I suddenly remembered what our flatmate has told me the other day about the movie Hercules. So then, i told them that we better watch it too, which they agreed.

Since Hubby came to Dubai we never had the chance to watch movie together. I don't feel like dragging him to the movie house just to sleep. It's a waste of money! Lol! Well, honestly that's true, he always fall asleep while watching a movie and last night's same scenario, he was sleeping while me and our friend was so noisy exchanging our comments about The Legend of Hercules. He woke up when the movie was about to end.

Never mind if Hubby slept almost the whole time we were inside the cinema, he paid for three of us lol!

Well, I had fun, so as our friend. I have enjoyed my all time favorite type of movie. Till next time :)

ANOTHER TREATMENT

Following the series of test for fertility, here I go again for another treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome. I'll be taking Glucophage for one month and 3 Gonal-F injection for 3 days. Recently I had one month Yasmin (contraceptilve pills) intake and Decapeptyl injection for the same treatment purposes but nothing has change.

Last night it took me about 2 hours before finally talking to the Doctor and right after my I-Scan, she asked whether I'm ready to get pregnant. Something that really changed my mood. I was feeling so down since New Year but upon hearing her said that, I had that feeling that no one can explain and a positive outlook that soon I'll be a woman and mom.

Hopefully this treatment will really help me conceive.

BTW, Hubby is scheduled for Semen Analysis this week also, hoping that the result will be normal as well.

NEW YEAR 2014

Nothing so special on New Years Eve except for the fact that it's our 12 years together and a year from now will be our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Time flies so fast which means we really have to double time to have Little Marlon/Little Sheng.

Can't imagine that after so many ups and downss we still have each other, and the more that we love and value each other.

Hoping for a fruitful 2014.

BLUE CHRISTMAS 2013

Red, Green and Gold are traditionally associated with Christmas and for the past years I've always loved wearing red and my only basis for that was the Santa's uniform.

For a change, I decided to chose blue as our color for this year which later did I know while browsing the net about the Colors of Christmas that the color blue is associated with Mama Mary, the mother of Jesus.

Should it be a sign that 2014 will be a good year for us?

OUR BATTLE

I've almost lost hope. Haven't visited an OB for 2 years for the reasons that we spent so much and yet nothing happened, still no chances of getting pregnant.

But as the days past and as i aged each year i realized we both needed to do something and that the first thing we did was to look for an specialist which luckily we found someone.

Right now, we both have an on going medication. This time around i got a clearer view on what's really wrong with us and we're hoping our Doctor with the help of God will do wonders though i felt like our case is something serious and a much thorough medication is needed. Don't know how long it will take but since we started it already so we need to finish the race.

After so many visit on several car showrooms, we decided to take Hyundai Car for the reasons that the requirement were not as complicated like the others.

The car was delivered almost a week after completing all the requirements. On that same day it was delivered we managed to arranged the Salik Registration, Blessing and Break In the car.

PANGIT'S UAE DRIVING LICENSE

Following that 3 assestment and 7 failed final test, Hubby finally got his driver's license. Mabrook ho'Ney!

Oh Well, it took him so much patience before he finally got it. He almost quit but i told him "No Don't, anything you started should be finished". He almost quit not because he was already tired of coming back to the driving center but he was so worried of the expenses incurred in taking the license.

So for that, let me show you how much did it cost us.

Plus the additional transportation expenses from and to the driving center.

EARLY 2013 CHALLENGES

Well, before 2013 comes my only wish was...A MORE CHALLENGING 2013! Every year that had past was a challenge for me and my hubby but those are not something I've asked for...something i wasn't ready to face though we were able to defeat those challenges.

Here comes 2013! We are more goal driven this time and we both prepared ourselves for a much more challenging year. Now...shall i say be carefull of what you've wished for? Welcoming the New Year wasn't really good enough especially for Hubby whose brother was brought to the hospital just as the clocks ticks close 12:00am. With all the worries he had for his brother the only property that will forever remind him of being the best employee of their company was damaged because of his clumsiness. We have saved money for his next final test on driving and we aren't ready to spend it for another thing like for the repair of a damaged property. He failed his first attempt for a nonsense reason given by the RTA Officer though we expected it somehow since it's really common for students taking driving test to fail for about 1-3 attempts but it's so frustrating when you got to experienced it in real.

Next, everybody is sick now a days. Most of the people are having colds and flu mainly because of the weather as they say. I've been sick for a months almost...cough and colds as usual and added to that the painful hard sausage lump on my right quarter abdomen which the Doctor says it's gassssss and that i should observe my diet. I feel like it's more than that....gas. There might be more reasons which I'm afraid to know.

Whatever may come this whole year of 2013. I hope we both have enough courage to face it and FAITH on him that there's nothing He would give us that we can't take.

GREATEST WISH

I was in the middle of chatting with some of my schoolmates about their Christmas wish list when suddenly instead of taking ideas from them on what they wanted to have this Christmas, it was me who got an idea on what should be my greatest wish this season.

Well, I don’t know if everybody is aware on how much I’m longing to have a baby. I should have a kindergarten now if we were just so lucky to have one at the early years of our marriage. Eight years of waiting has been too long, I’m losing hope. We have had several check ups and test with normal results but nothing happened which stops me from seeing my OB. I got tired.

But i know we shouldn't stop from trying. Only God knows when is the best time for us to become parents. I hope before my uterus expired (as they say lol!) we'll have one atleast.

At times that i almost give up...remind me that no relationship has lasted without trials and tribulations on their way. It may not be easy to walk through it but there's always a great feeling once you've been through it.

Love i guess is beyond expectation and explanation. No one knows what's gonna happen once you allow yourself to love and be love. No one has ever said that there will be no heartaches, ups and downs, difficult situations and many other negative things brought by loving someone.

It's actually how you handle all of it. One day once you've pass many trials you will suddenly realize that it has brought so much goodness in your relationship.
