Asa is so big! Today he made his very own bread! He really did. It was an easy recipe and one that he could eat at every stage. Here is actual video of Asa taking steps! It was taken today. Today was the first day I really saw him realize that walking was a method of getting around. He's started walking to things that are nearby instead of crawling.Other advancements:He can be handed a whole peach to eat instead of little bits. We had an excellent birthday. Asa got carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, but prefers to eat his dinner instead. Crazy child. He also got a baby doll (which he adores), a shape sorter (very cool), truck and other sand equipment (interesting), and a book with pictures of people he loves (okay). Asa was the ring bear for his aunt's wedding to Uncle Graham this past weekend. We had him dressed in a very cute linen outfit with a big bib collar. In this one, Asa learns about the dog's water bowl. As he has now learned to climb the two bottom stairs (where I had been leaving the water bowl available to the dog), we have moved the bowl back into the kitchen. The poor dog.The gate on the stairs prevents Asa from going higher than the two bottom stairs, but going down is a HARDER skill than going up... particularly harder for his head.

Okay, so it isn't the typical crawl. He's doing a combination of rolling, army crawling, and sitting up and scooting, but he's mostly able to get to where he wants to be.
