So why did I interview him, you ask?

Well, I love comedy, and I love when individuals make a difference in the world. Brian is a blind comedian, who created a non-profit organization called Laugh For Sight. His mission is to raise funds for retinal eye disease research.

Laugh for Sight is also a comedy tour, which has featured some of the biggest names in comedy such as, Adam Ferrara, Greg Giraldo (RIP), Colin Quinn, and Dave Attell.

Right now, Brian's NPO is receiving national attention because of shows in California, New York and Florida. This year, he is looking to expand the tour to "big" cities so be on the look out, and make sure you go!

Alright I will stop the promoting! Now onto the real subject, Nash.

Nash is Brian's guide dog that probably has a more crude sense of humor than Brian. He also loves stealing the show.

Brian was featured on the American version of the show Top Gear a couple of months ago. He was the first man to learn how to drive being blind. A blind guy driving, you say? Yes, but that isn't what I am going to brag about. After the shoot was done he went over to the audience to answer questions, but there was a problem you might say. Nash actually decided to pee over the Top Gear logo. So right off the bat Nash decided he was bored and wanted attention and he knew how to get it.

Well everyone visit the Laugh for Sight website to check out show dates and even make donations. Site:
Laugh For Sight

Below are the podcasts of the show so you may hear more stories of the Adventures of Brian and Nash.
He is also blind. Brian is a very funny individual with his show stealing sidekick, Nash, his guide dog.

Also, in a couple of weeks me and Dave will be doing a joint show about the visually impaired and art. This will be an exciting show, with pictures of sculptures done by blind artists.
Maurice has absolute perfect pitch. There is one more thing that makes him unique, he is blind. Right before I interviewed Maurice, co-owner Rich Galissini played a note on the piano and asked Maurice to identify the note. Within seconds, Maurice knew what note was played.

I setup my mic and mixer in a back room where I could have a one on one discussion with Maurice. We talked about his normal day at Cunningham, his life, and other interesting topics.

Maurice started losing his sight in his teens from glaucoma. He went to Overbrook School for the Blind where he really learned to use his skill of perfect pitch and found his interest for piano tuning. Maurice also taught me that women are more inclined to have the ability of perfect pitch. Maurice has had his moment of fame. He was requested by Alicia Keys to tune her piano for a show. He was actually taken to her studio. He told me that knowing the piano he tuned was being played in front of thousands of fans, was great feeling.

After my interview with Maurice, I was taken on a tour of The Cunningham Restoration Facility. I met amazing individuals with amazing talents in rebuilding and restoring pianos. Below are some pictures and the radio podcast I took of Cunningham Piano and a picture of me and Maurice.
Part of Blindness Awareness Month, WCSD recognizes the accomplishments and independence of blind individuals. ASB representatives set up shop at Liberty Place in downtown Philadelphia to answer questions, as well as hand out pamphlets, calendars, pens, wrist bands, etc… the objective to really generate awareness of the white cane.

We had a chance to stop by the event and interview ASB staff (namely Derby Ewing, Director of Human Services), along with other bystanders. The overall sentiment was that much of the public was not entirely aware of the significance of the white cane.
