A new test for asbestos-related cancer has been developed. Scientists have developed a new test to help diagnose asbestos-related cancer. Scientists may have developed “a more sensitive test for the asbestos-related cancer mesothelioma”, according to a story in BBC News. Combined diagnostic methods showed 24 of the 166 patients had mesothelioma, 67 had a non-mesothelioma cancer and 75 had benign pleural effusion.

In many cases of mesothelioma, asbestos exposure occurred in the workplace. Mesothelioma is a rare cancer that can be difficult to diagnose.
