Affiliate Summit East 2009 a success for Ascentive

Ascentive attended the Affiliate Summit East show in New York City, where over 3,000 people which consisted of affiliates, merchants, networks, vendors and agencies gathered to discuss the current state and future direction of affiliate marketing. Hot topics for the conference revolved around social media marketing, natural search and international affiliates. The three day event allowed Ascentive to research new opportunities for distribution of their software, as well as, touch base with many of their current affiliate partners who actively promote Ascentive products. The next summit conference will be held in January in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Hope to see you there.

Ascentive to attend Affiliate Summit East 2009

Ascentive will be attending this year’s Affiliate Summit East 2009. The premier affiliate marketing conference takes place in New York City from August 9-11. The three day conference includes an exhibit hall with affiliate merchants, vendors, and networks, as well as multiple tracks of educational sessions covering the latest trends and information from affiliate marketing experts. Affiliate Managers will be available to meet with current and prospective partners to discuss our programs and other related affiliate topics.

Affiliate Program Stats Now Available Online

The new Ascentive Affiliate Access Center allows our Affiliate partners to directly access all of the value information needed to run a success Ascentive Affiliate Marketing program. Now access to real-time sales information is available by simply logging in via your partner ID and Password. Affiliates will also have access to change general Affiliate Information along with Payment and Contact Info. Unique tracking links for all active campaigns are also accessible within the Access Center as is a list of the most up to date Email Suppression List.

PopShops

We have started set-up today for PopShops. This is a great web 2.0 tool for Affilaites to use to build their own online shops. PopShops integrates seamlessly with our Commission Junction Product Catalog, and allows affiliates to point-and-click their way to individual product placements on their website or blog.
This is a FREE tool, and is easy to get up-and-running in just three easy steps:

Pick the products you would like to promote
Customize your Shop
Pop it into your shop and start editing!

Your PopShops Account will automatically update product information if there are any changes in price or availability, so there is very little maintenance required. Also, you will get paid each month through Commission Junction just as you would with any of our text or banner links.

Performance Review: Week 1

After just one week our Affiliate Program is running strong! We now have over 200 Publishers in our program, and a steady stream of incoming sales from a few of our CJ Performers. In the first week our Affiliate's sales averaged around $60 per sale with our biggest sale so far at $137.70 - that was a $68.85 commission earning on just one sale!
Thanks to all the great publishers who have helped get our program off the ground.

Tutorial: Get Links and Publish Ads with Commission Junction

Here is a step-by-step tutorial for those of you that are brand new to Commission Junction. Simply register for our program, and then follow these instructions to get started.

Login:
You can login to Commission Junction for everything you need to get started.
Login by visiting www.CJ.com, or you can find a link to the login on our website www.Ascentive.com.
Use your email address and the password that you created during sign-up to login.

Once you have logged into your CJ account, you will have access to all our
banner ads, text ads, links and more.

Get Links:
To get links from inside your CJ account, follow these steps:

When you login you will see your publisher home. CJ provides a rich account manager interface with options to run reports, find additional advertisers in the network, and much more. To learn more about these features you can see advanced tutorials provided by CJ through CJU.
For now, click on the 'Get Links' Tab.
From there, click on the 'By Relationship' Tab. Since you will have already been added to our program, you should see Ascentive here under your 'My Advertisers' list.
Click on 'View Links'

How to Select Links:
From here, you can view all the banner ads, keyword ads, text ads, and advanced links that we are running. The columns display information about the ad, including the commission rate for each, and stats about how well the ad performs. To learn more about these terms you can click on the CJU link from inside your account.

A good way to start is to find an ad that is the right size to be published on your site that is in harmony with the look-and-feel of your site. If you don't see any banners that will work, you might want to start with keyword links (they appear as text on your site) or you can contact us by writing to affiliates (at) ascentive (dot) com to discuss your creative needs.

Once you have found an ad you would like to publish on your website, you can click on the ad for more information. A window pops-up that displays the ad, more stats, and the landing page that your visitors will see when they click the ad. After reviewing this information, click on 'Get HTML' at the bottom of the window to move on to the final step: publishing the ad.

Publish Ads:
Whenever you click 'Get HTML' Commission Junction will generate code that includes your unique Publisher ID. This will ensure that all clicks and sales associated with your unique published ad will be recorded and tracked in your CJ account.
Simply cut and paste that code into your website, and the ad will be up and running!

Because our program has not officially launched, we can't really provide too many juicy details about the amazing earning potential we have to offer just yet. Instead, we would like to devote the first post to recognizing some of the most inspirational and valuable Affiliate Marketing resources we have come to know and love.

ABestWeb.com is home to a wealth of knowledge in the form of a diverse community of Affiliate Marketers. The ABestWeb Forum addresses everything in the world of Affiliate Marketing from 'Noobie FAQ's' to the more advanced 'Affiliate Marketing Power Tools'. It is a great place to go for technical information, the latest buzz, or to just introduce yourself.

AffiliateTip.com is another great resource for information about the ins and outs of Affiliate Marketing. The site is run by Shawn Collins, a big name in the Affiliate Marketing world. The two favorite resources on this site are the 'Top Five Affiliate Programs' which is updated monthly to show which programs are leading the pack and, of course, the 'Affiliate Marketing Blog by Shawn Collins'. We subscribe to this blog, and strongly recommend it to stay on top of the latest and greatest ideas in Affiliate Marketing.

This is an invaluable resource for all online marketers, and provides a wealth of information about industry strategy, method, and trends.
