My Failed Trip to Jogjakarta

Hello Mrs. Ananka from Scotland, Madam Mary Kirkland from the US, Mrs. Irina from Russia, and all my fellow international bloggers that I recently visited. How are you all doing? It is Saturday. Happy weekend to all of you!

Today is Saturday evening, May 16. I would like to share a little story about my failed plan to visit Jogjakarta. I had planned to visit my one and only daughter, who has just finished Junior High School in Jogjakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. Our trip was supposed to be on May 14, based on our ship ticket. I always travel by sea. I will explain why I could not make it. !

For those who do not know where Jogjakarta is, the Special Region of Jogjakarta called “Daerah Istimewa Jogjakarta” in Indonesia is located on Java Island. I live in Pontianak, the capital city of West Kalimantan Province. If you want to visit Jogjakarta, you can travel either by sea or by airplane because we are on different islands. If you travel by airplane, the flight takes about one and a half hours. If you travel by ship, it takes around one and a half days. !

The Failure of My Sea Voyage!
My son and I already had tickets to travel to Jogjakarta. The schedule was on Thursday, May 14, at 13:00 WIB (1 PM). All bags and personal belongings were packed perfectly, and we were ready to go. !

Suddenly, the Dwikora Port sea traffic administration announced that our ship was delayed. The departure was moved to the next day, Friday morning at 10 AM. Even though I was shocked, I calculated the timing and felt that we could still arrive in Jogjakarta on time. !

Unfortunately, a few minutes later, we received another delay notice. This time, the new schedule was Friday night at 22:00 WIB (10 PM). The first delay was acceptable, but the second delay was too much. I was upset and disappointed with the unorganized system of the Dwikora Sea Traffic Administration.

I felt something was not right. I even suspected that the delay happened because there were not enough passengers, so they postponed the trip until the ship was full. If that is true, it would be hilarious and unprofessional. !

In the end, I decided to cancel my trip with KM Kelimutu. I asked for a refund, but I only received half of my money back because there was a penalty for canceling before departure. !

Delays can happen in any kind of transportation air, land, or sea. But receiving two delays in one day was very frustrating. By the way, the ticket price for KM Kelimutu (economy class) from Pontianak to Semarang is about 350,000 rupiahs, which is around 20 US dollars (based on the current rate of 1 USD = 17,460 IDR). !

I cannot upload an image of KM Kelimutu because I do not own the photo. I have a rule to only upload photos that I take myself. You can search for the ship on Google if you want. !

Story of My Personal Belongings!
Even though my sea trip failed, I want to share a story about some items I prepared for the journey. I have included one original photo for you to see. !\

In the photo, there is a selfie-stick tripod with a small light, some face masks, and a black cap. Nearby, there is a digital watch, red headphones, a green notebook with two pens, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and wired earphones. You may also notice a telephoto lens, which I use to view distant objects from far away.

All these items help me make simple documentation when I travel. The selfie stick helps stabilize my camera when recording video. I prefer Bluetooth headphones over wired ones because they are simpler to use. My cellphone does not appear in the photo because I used it to take the picture, haha! If I had two phones, I would have placed one on the table!

Final Question!

Different Cultures, Shared Respect: A Memorable Evening in Bali.

Hello everyone, especially my favorite bloggers: Mrs. Ananka from Scotland, Madam Mary Kirkland from the United States of America, and Mrs. Irina from Russia. How is it going?

As for me here in Indonesia, I am doing just fine. I would like to apologize for not visiting your blogs during the last two weeks. I have also not written any new blog posts due to the nature of my work. I briefly mentioned my current job in one of my previous posts. I cannot lie to you about this. I have been a bit lazy for some reasons.

Today is May 31st. I would like to share a little story about something that happened when I was working as a part-time volunteer for KangGURU Champions between 2005 and 2010.

One occasion that I still remember happened when I and my fellow volunteers gathered at the home of Mr. Kevin Dalton, an Australian manager of the program. I am quite sure it happened on April 25, 2009. The location was Kevin's home in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

I have edited this story in a comic-style format using real photographs, which I believe makes it more engaging and interesting. To keep a long story short, some of the photos were taken by my friends, while others were taken using my own cellphone camera.

This is the story.

CHAPTER ONE: ARRIVING AT KEVIN'S HOME
Six other KangGURU volunteers and I were invited to visit Kevin Dalton's home near Ubud, Bali. We left our hotel and took a taxi to his house. The journey only took a short time.

We arrived in the area at around 4:00 PM and had to walk for a few minutes before reaching Kevin's home.

I stepped out of the group for a moment to take this photo with my cellphone camera. As you can see, we were walking along a path leading to Kevin's house in the Ubud area of Bali, Indonesia. It looked like a small village path, at least to me.

During the walk, some of us were a little scared because of the barking dogs along the way. Their barking was very loud, and some of the dogs were quite large, which made us nervous.

After we arrived, all seven of us performed our Maghrib prayer first at around 6:00 PM.

CHAPTER TWO: NO BEER, NO PORK, AND NO KISSING
It was around 7:00 PM when the party started. I still remember some of the Australian guests who attended, including staff members from the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF), the manager of IALF, and several Australian English tutors.

With lively music playing in the background, we danced, sang, and enjoyed ourselves together. There were plenty of beverages, snacks, and cakes available

Some of the food they were making consisted of pork meat, like bacon or hamburgers. I am so sorry if I was mistaken in mentioning the menu. The bottom line is, I enjoyed all Australian cuisines they provided, even though the taste was not too spicy for me as an Indonesian, except pork.

Eating pork meat or all kinds of food consisting of pork as an ingredient was not allowed to consume based on what I believe and my religion, Islam.

What about beer?

Oh yes, absolutely. There was plenty of beer available too.

I do not remember the brands. They may have been Australian beers or local Indonesian beers.

As we all know, Bali is one of the world's most popular tourist destinations, famous for its culture, traditions, heritage, and cuisine. Visitors from around the world come to Bali every year,

Ok I have enclosed herewith some photos were taken at the moment. Some of the photos were taken Ririn (KangGuru Champions from Kediri, Central Java, Indonesia) and some photos created by IALF or KangGuru Indonesia.

Do you think I was going to drink that beer? Not at all. The photo was taken just for fun and as a pose. In reality, I did not drink it. As a Muslim, I do not consume beer, wine, or any other alcoholic beverages because of my religious beliefs.

Can you spot where I was in the photograph? Yes that is right. That is my Indonesian friends. I meant some of people in this photograph are from different provinces in Indonesia. The lady on the right side is Ayu from KangGuru Indonesia, She was now in foreigh country, as senior Yoga instructor

We danced like crazy that night. This photograph shows all the KangGuru representatives enjoying themselves on the dance floor. I wasn't in the picture, probably because I was off doing something else. To be honest, I can't dance at all, and that's probably a good thing for everyone!

Can you spot the man behind me on the left? That's Kevin Dalton, the KangGuru Manager and the owner of the house where the gathering was held. He invited us, together with several staff members from KangGuru Indonesia and IALF. Most of our Australian friends were expatriates and English teachers who had lived in Bali for many years.

Ok let's continue

One of the Australian guests offered me some beer and a pork burger. My friends and I appreciated his kindness and generosity. However, all of the KangGURU volunteers from Indonesia were Muslims. According to our religious beliefs, we do not drink alcohol or eat pork.

We were very happy to join the party and spend time with everyone. The hospitality shown by our Australian friends was wonderful. However, we also wanted to remain consistent with our religious values and personal beliefs.

The party ended at around 10:00 PM. Before long, it would be midnight, and it was time for us to return to our hotel in Denpasar.

Before leaving, my Indonesian friends and I shook hands and exchanged friendly hugs with many of the guests. We tried to keep everything respectful and appropriate.

One Australian lady whom I had just greeted with a handshake attempted to greet me more warmly and tried to kiss me while giving me a friendly hug. Politely and respectfully, I stepped back and explained that, according to my religion. Islam, physical affection such as kissing between an unmarried man and woman is not permitted.

For me personally, that kind of gesture was not customary because of my cultural background, personal values, and religious beliefs as an Indonesian .

I thanked her for her kindness, continued shaking her hand, and smiled. Hopefully, she understood and respected my identity and beliefs.

We then left Kevin's home while many of the Australian guests stayed behind to continue enjoying the party.

We returned to our hotel in Denpasar, Bali.

I Used To Be Kang GURU Champions

Have you ever heard of the word “Champion”? If you associate the word with sports champions, I am afraid your guess would be slightly wrong in this context.

The word “Champion” in my post today refers to volunteer work. “Champion” is a title used by Kang GURU Indonesia to refer to Indonesian citizens who have contributed their efforts, suggestions, ideas, and valuable support to foster friendship between Indonesia and Australia

The Champions worked very hard to promote close relationships and mutual understanding between the governments of Indonesia and Australia through the Indonesia-Australia Partnership. In carrying out these activities, all Champions across Indonesia worked voluntarily without receiving any payment.

A Champion was a volunteer who worked according to the directives and guidelines of Kang GURU Indonesia. Each representative of Kang GURU Indonesia across Indonesia had to provide monthly reports to the headquarters of Kang GURU Indonesia, located in Denpasar, Bali. As planned by Kang GURU Indonesia, we gathered together and attended the annual Consultative Group Meeting (CGM) at IALF Denpasar, Bali.

The CGM was held annually at the Indonesia Australia Language Foundation (IALF) building, located on Jalan Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. The meeting was organized by Kang GURU Indonesia and funded by the Australian Government through IALF Denpasar, Bali. The meeting could also be held twice a year, and most meetings were conducted at the headquarters.

Volunteer Workers
Perhaps many people have big questions about us. Who are we? What are we supposed to do in Indonesia? Why are there only seven people so far? Well, those questions need to be answered.

Who are we? Yes, we are seven young people who contributed to and assisted KangGURU Indonesia in spreading and promoting its programs across Indonesia.

We were selected from thousands of people in Indonesia who actively contributed to KangGURU Indonesia through the KangGURU Indonesia magazine, which was published throughout Indonesia four times a year: in March, June, September, and December. I had seven years of experience contributing to KangGURU Magazine before I was appointed as an official KangGURU Representative in March 2007. Most of the seven KGI Representatives worked in various professions such as English interactive radio presenters, English teachers, and private-sector employees.

MEMORY OF OUR TEAM This photo was taken in Bali around 2005. It shows the wonderful KangGURU Champions from seven different provinces in Indonesia. What were we supposed to do in Indonesia?
We had many tasks in our respective areas, such as promoting KangGURU programs at schools and English clubs, as well as helping and supporting KangGURU radio programs at RRI stations in our provinces by providing suggestions and ideas. We were also asked to find new local radio stations to join KangGURU and broadcast KangGURU programs once a week.

KangGURU radio programs in Pontianak could be heard on RRI Pro 2 FM (101.8 MHz) every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 PM WIB, and on RRI Sintang (96.6 MHz) every Saturday at 4:30 PM WIB.

Goodbye Champions
Although most KangGURU Representatives were supported by KangGURU with operational tools and other supporting materials, they were originally volunteer workers. Yes, we were indeed volunteers. KangGURU never paid us, and this work was absolutely not part of our regular jobs.

Why were there only seven KGI Representatives so far?
There were actually many wonderful people in Indonesia who helped KangGURU. The KangGURU Champions were only some of them. Their valuable assistance involved promoting KangGURU and supporting the work of the Australia-Indonesia Partnership (AIP). This support was very important because KangGURU depended greatly on people spreading information about its radio programs, magazines, and website.

It was a wonderful way to help people who were interested in learning English. Other volunteers also helped with teacher workshops, language clubs, and KangGURU’s newest service, which supported a new generation of interactive radio presenters.

At that time, the answer was yes. KangGURU Indonesia did not have a primary target to increase the number of official volunteer workers assisting them in this way.

Each of us, the seven KGI Representatives, submitted monthly reports to KangGURU Indonesia on a regular basis. These reports usually included photos taken during activities or simple reports written in a standard format approved by KangGURU

Unlike stringers from Voice of America (VoA), being a KGI Representative was not a paid job, and we did not receive any salary from KangGURU Indonesia. As I mentioned before, most of the work we did was free of charge because we were truly volunteer workers. We hoped that people would understand our position and be willing to cooperate with us by providing information and support whenever needed.

As you may already know, the KGI staff packed up the KGI office in late December 2011. KGI, as we had known it for the previous 22 years, officially ended on December 31st, 2011. However, the latest information at that time was that from January 2012 onward, KGI entered a temporary transition phase until further notice.

As of early January 2012, KGI continued operating in a smaller transition phase. The KGI office remained in Bali but with only four staff members. Kevin was no longer working for KangGURU Indonesia because he had accepted another wonderful position elsewhere. We missed him very much. :(

A new project called EPOS (Education Partnership Outreach Service) was expected to continue the spirit, talents, ideas, and hopes of KangGURU Champions in strengthening the Indonesia-Australia Partnership through KangGURU Indonesia in the future. The project would also continue sharing development updates and information in cooperation with AusAID and IALF in Denpasar.

We hoped to volunteer with them again in the future. It was a great opportunity to foster good relations between Indonesia and Australia in every possible way.

My Busy Life in the MBG Kitchen

This short article has been specially dedicated to Mrs. Ananka from Scotland, one of my favorite foreign bloggers, by the way. I promised her to tell her about my current occupation a few months ago. Although I posted an article a few days ago, I have planned to write another one today.

Hello all my friends. How is it going?
Its 07.20 AM in the morning when I am writing this short article

Thank you for all your comment on my blog post a few days ago, although it was written in Bahasa Indonesia, and now I have written in English. Thank you Mrs Ananka one more time for letting me know that your current job is also in the kitchen like mine.

That is so much fun and coincidental, isn’t it? It is a great thing that I finally have a good job instead of my previous one. To be honest, I was fired from my previous company, which dealt with official items and school supplies, as a part-time social media personnel around the middle of November 2025.

It was painful at the moment I was fired, and I was so happy that a few days later I finally had a good job, which obviously offers me a good opportunity to develop. The position is as one of the full-time portion personnel in the national program of Free Nutritious Food of the Republic of Indonesia, which in Indonesia is called “Makan Bergizi Gratis,” abbreviated as MBG. I have been working there since November 27th, 2025.

This photo was taken about three months ago. I was photographed next to a vehicle operating under the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. The sign on the vehicle reads "Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit." This vehicle is used to distribute thousands of free breakfast meals to nearby schools, including integrated service posts, toddlers, and breastfeeding mothers, for five days from Monday to Friday. This food tray is being filled with healthy food, and when everything is set and ready, it is prepared for everyday delivery. Our kitchen has nutrition experts who determine the daily menu, and all the food is obviously delicious, tasty, and nutritious. Photo Asep Haryono

My work schedule is five times a week, starting from 4 a.m. in the morning until about 11 a.m. The National Nutrition Board of the Republic of Indonesia confirmed that all workers in the kitchen under the Free Nutritious Food program of the Republic of Indonesia should work for 8 hours a day from Monday to Friday, even though there is another day, Saturday, which is considered a “work day.” However, it is not actually “working,” but instead cleaning the kitchen.

I want to make this story short. In general, I complete a 6-day work schedule from Monday to Saturday, which almost gives zero opportunity to update my blog and visit my friends’ blogs, which have been listed in my contact list or reading list. I have been trying to visit your blog and leave comments there; however, not all blogs that I visit receive comments only a few of them and that makes the visit count.

Sunday is obviously my day off and also a day for all members of my family to have fun. We do some fun activities at home, such as gardening, playing music, listening to the radio, and washing our motorbikes (we have three different kinds of motorbikes used by all members of my family; we do not have a car). By the way, we have not had any television set for the last ten years; we just do not watch TV. This is the right moment for me personally to write a new article. That is what I am doing right now.

This is one of the reasons why I am not able to update my lovely blog every day; however, at least once a week at the moment. I wish I could write an everyday post, but in reality, that is far from the truth. I am not able to do it. I am sorry.

I am a bit exhausted when I come back from work; however, working in the environment of the kitchen, I am a bit exhausted too. When I come back from work, I keep doing other domestic activities at home, such as washing dirty clothes (I do not have a washing machine), sweeping the floor, cleaning the windows, or gardening. Where is my maid? Well, to be honest, all domestic activities are handled by me, and we do not have any maid.

At the end of this short story, I would like to let all my fellow bloggers know that my blog will be updated once a week, hopefully more than once maybe twice at maximum and I would also like to read and visit some of my favorite bloggers at the same time. Hasil Monitoring dan Evaluasi di SPPG Kuala Dua 2: Langkah Nyata Menuju Dapur yang Lebih Bersih dan Efisien

Pada hari Senin, 20 April 2026, tim dari Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Provinsi Kalimantan Barat bersama Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Kabupaten Kubu Raya melakukan kegiatan monitoring dan evaluasi di SPPG Kuala Dua 2 di Kabupten Kybu Faya, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia. Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari upaya berkelanjutan untuk memastikan bahwa seluruh proses pengolahan makanan berjalan sesuai standar kebersihan, keamanan, dan efisiensi operasional.

Sebagai bagian dari tim yang bekerja di lingkungan dapur, saya melihat langsung bagaimana kegiatan monitoring ini tidak hanya bertujuan untuk menilai kondisi yang ada, tetapi juga memberikan arahan perbaikan yang bersifat konstruktif. Semua masukan yang diberikan berfokus pada peningkatan kualitas pelayanan kepada penerima manfaat, sekaligus menjaga keselamatan dan kenyamanan para pekerja di dapur.

A team from the West Kalimantan Provincial Food Security Service, together with the Kubu Raya Regency Food Security Service, conducted food security control and monitoring at the Kuala Dua 2 gas station, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, Indonesia.

1.Penataan Alas Kaki dan Kebersihan Area Masuk
Salah satu perhatian utama dalam evaluasi kali ini adalah penataan alas kaki. Tim monitoring menekankan bahwa alas kaki wajib ditempatkan di atas rak yang telah disediakan. Alas kaki yang berasal dari luar area dapur harus dilepas sebelum memasuki ruangan kerja.

Untuk mendukung hal tersebut, disediakan empat titik penyimpanan rak alas kaki, yaitu di pintu masuk loading area, pintu masuk lobby, serta di area WC dan tempat cuci ompreng. Langkah ini terlihat sederhana, tetapi memiliki dampak besar dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dapur dan mencegah masuknya kotoran dari luar.

2. Penambahan Fasilitas dan Peralatan Pendukung
Selain penataan alas kaki, tim monitoring juga memberikan rekomendasi untuk menambah beberapa fasilitas penting. Di antaranya adalah penambahan rak penyimpanan alat, penyediaan alas kaki atau sandal tambahan, serta pengadaan freezer box dan showcase.

Fasilitas-fasilitas tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu menjaga kualitas bahan makanan dan meningkatkan efisiensi kerja. Dengan penyimpanan yang lebih tertata, proses kerja dapat berjalan lebih cepat dan risiko kerusakan bahan makanan dapat diminimalkan.

3. Penyimpanan Barang Non-Pangan dan Standarisasi Bahan Makanan
Dalam kegiatan evaluasi tersebut, tim juga menyoroti pentingnya pemisahan antara barang pangan dan non-pangan. Plastik dan barang sejenis diwajibkan untuk disimpan di gudang khusus agar tidak tercampur dengan bahan makanan.

Selain itu, standarisasi bahan makanan juga menjadi perhatian. Beras yang digunakan harus memiliki izin edar PSAT dan disarankan menggunakan beras premium yang memiliki kode resmi atau sertifikat dari lembaga terkait. Hal ini bertujuan untuk memastikan kualitas bahan makanan yang disajikan kepada penerima manfaat tetap terjaga.

4. Penempatan Peralatan dan Perbaikan Fasilitas
Beberapa peralatan dapur juga menjadi bagian dari evaluasi. Misalnya, galon air dan ompreng yang sudah diisi makanan harus ditempatkan menggunakan palet, sehingga tidak langsung menyentuh lantai. Hal ini penting untuk menjaga kebersihan dan keamanan makanan.

Selain itu, ditemukan juga perlunya perbaikan pada pemantik kompor gas yang mengalami gangguan. Perbaikan peralatan seperti ini sangat penting, karena dapat memengaruhi kelancaran proses memasak dan keselamatan kerja di dapur.

5. Penataan Ruang dan Efisiensi Operasional
Penataan ruang dapur menjadi salah satu fokus dalam monitoring kali ini. Tim menyarankan agar dilakukan penataan ulang ruang penyimpanan alat dapur agar lebih rapi dan efisien.

Pengadaan meja dorong juga menjadi salah satu rekomendasi penting. Meja dorong ini akan digunakan untuk membawa makanan matang dari ruang masak ke ruang porsi. Dengan adanya alat tersebut, mobilitas pekerja dapat berkurang, sehingga tenaga dan waktu dapat digunakan dengan lebih efektif.

Selain itu, dilakukan juga penyekatan antara tangga dan ruang porsi. Ruang porsi harus dijaga dalam kondisi steril, karena merupakan area yang langsung berhubungan dengan proses pembagian makanan.

6. Kebersihan Lingkungan dan Kesadaran Pekerja
Kebersihan lantai dan lingkungan kerja menjadi perhatian penting dalam kegiatan evaluasi ini. Tim monitoring menyarankan penggunaan cairan pembersih seperti karbol atau disinfektan untuk mengepel lantai secara rutin.

Di area toilet, disediakan alas kaki khusus dan ditambahkan informasi berupa tulisan pengingat agar setiap pekerja mencuci tangan dengan bersih setelah menggunakan toilet. Langkah ini merupakan bagian dari upaya menjaga kebersihan dan kesehatan bersama.

Selain fasilitas, kesadaran pekerja juga menjadi faktor utama dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan kerja. Pekerja diingatkan untuk membersihkan pembatas plastik secara rutin, tidak mengikat pembatas plastik dengan tali, tidak membuang sampah sembarangan, dan selalu menggunakan alat pelindung diri (APD) saat bekerja.

7. Perbaikan Infrastruktur dan Administrasi
Dalam kegiatan monitoring tersebut, tim juga menemukan bahwa listrik di lokasi dapur masih sering mengalami gangguan atau jatuh. Kondisi ini perlu segera diperbaiki, karena dapat berpotensi merusak peralatan dapur dan mengganggu kelancaran operasional.

Selain aspek teknis, kelengkapan administrasi juga menjadi bagian dari evaluasi. Dokumen berita acara serah terima kepada penerima manfaat harus dilengkapi sebagai bukti bahwa makanan telah diterima sesuai prosedur. Administrasi yang tertib akan membantu meningkatkan transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam pelaksanaan program.

8. Komitmen untuk Perbaikan Berkelanjutan
Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan monitoring dan evaluasi ini memberikan banyak masukan yang bermanfaat bagi pengelola dan pekerja di SPPG Kuala Dua 2. Semua poin yang disampaikan bukanlah bentuk kritik semata, tetapi merupakan langkah bersama untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan.

Perbaikan mungkin membutuhkan waktu dan kerja sama dari semua pihak. Namun dengan komitmen yang kuat, setiap perubahan kecil dapat membawa dampak besar bagi kebersihan, kerapihan, dan efisiensi operasional dapur.

Pada akhirnya, tujuan utama dari semua upaya ini adalah memastikan bahwa makanan yang disajikan kepada penerima manfaat tetap aman, higienis, dan berkualitas. Dengan demikian, kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap program layanan pangan dapat terus terjaga.

Grateful at 55: A Life Reflection on My Birthday

Hello all my fellow bloggers wherever you are.

Today, April 19th, I celebrate my 55th birthday. Reaching this age is both a blessing and a moment of deep reflection. It is a time to look back on my journey the joys, the struggles, the successes, and the regrets and to look forward with hope for the future.

I was born in Jakarta on April 19, 1971. I come from a big family. I have one younger brother, one elder sister, and seven elder brothers. Life in a large family taught me about togetherness, sharing, and resilience from an early age.

Sadly, one of my eldest brothers has passed away, and both of my beloved parents also passed away a few years ago. Their absence is deeply felt, but their values and sacrifices continue to guide my life. Today, our family remains with eight siblings in total, holding on to memories, love, and the responsibility to carry forward our family's legacy.

As I reflect on my life, education has been one of the most important chapters and also one of the deepest regrets I carry in my heart.

I successfully completed my elementary school in 1983, Junior High School in 1986, and Senior High School in 1989. Like many young people at that time, I had dreams of continuing my education and building a better future. However, in 1989, I failed the national state university entrance test. That failure was painful and disappointing, but I refused to give up.

In 1990, I tried again, and by God's grace, I finally passed the national state university entrance test. That moment filled me with hope, pride, and excitement. I began my first year at Tanjungpura University in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, majoring in English. I believed that this was the beginning of a brighter future.

Unfortunately, life had other plans for me.

In 1998, after several years of study, I was forced to drop out of university because I was no longer able to pay the tuition fees. Financial hardship became an obstacle that I could not overcome at that time. Leaving the university without completing my degree was one of the most difficult and heartbreaking decisions of my life. That moment became my first major educational failure, and it is something I have regretted for many years.

Since then, I have continued my life with only a Senior High School certificate. I worked, struggled, and tried to support myself and my family as best as I could. Life moved forward, but the dream of completing my higher education never truly disappeared.

Now, at the age of 55, I sometimes feel that my chances to pursue higher education either in Indonesia or overseas are very limited. When I look at many of my friends from school and university, I see that they have successfully built their careers and continued their education. Some of them studied abroad in countries such as Australia, the United States, and several European nations through scholarships like LPDP and other international programs.

At times, I feel left behind.

There are moments when regret visits my heart, and I wonder what my life might have been like if I had been able to complete my education. I sometimes think about the opportunities I missed and the dreams that were delayed. These thoughts can be heavy, especially when comparing my journey with others.

However, as I grow older, I am beginning to understand a deeper truth about life.

Life is not always about titles, degrees, or achievements. Life is also about endurance, responsibility, faith, and the courage to keep moving forward even when circumstances are difficult. Not every journey is the same. Some people reach their goals quickly, while others must take longer and more challenging paths.

Despite all the disappointments and regrets, I am still standing today.

I am still alive. I am still learning from life. I am still growing as a person. And most importantly, I am still dreaming.

This 55th birthday is not only a reminder of what I did not achieve, but also a celebration of what I have survived. I have faced challenges, losses, and failures, yet I continue to move forward. I have learned patience, humility, and perseverance through life's experiences.

I may not hold a university degree, but I hold valuable lessons gained through hard work and real-life struggles. I may not have reached all the goals I once dreamed about, but I still have time to create new goals and new meaning in my life.

At 55, I choose not to surrender to regret. Instead, I choose gratitude.

I am grateful for life.
I should also consider myself a thankful man because Allah has blessed me with a good and intellectual wife whom I met in 2004. I married a young student from IKIP Semarang in that same year, and we officially started our married life one year later. Her professional journey has been inspiring to witness. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher at KB-TK Islam Al Azhar Pontianak, and later, in 2008, she successfully passed the Government State Officer test (Pegawai Negeri Sipil).

To make a long story short, she has become a very successful career woman in both education and professional fields. One of her proudest achievements was returning from Japan under the Japan Foundation scholarship for a teacher exchange program for vocational schools in November 2025. She has two different degrees: the first degree in English Studies and the second (postgraduate) degree in Educational Administration.

Her dedication, discipline, and passion for education have always been a source of pride and motivation for me. I am grateful for my family. I am grateful for the lessons that shaped me. And I am grateful for the strength to continue dreaming, even at this stage of my life.

I must also express my deep gratitude for my two wonderful children a son and a daughter. My elder son will soon become a university student, and my beloved daughter is currently in Yogyakarta and is planning to continue her Senior High School education in Pontianak. They are the light of my life and the reason I keep striving to be a better father of my whole family.

Today, I realize that I have complete happiness as a man in this world. Having a good, humble, and intelligent wife and lovely children is one of the greatest blessings that Allah SWT has ever given to me. I will never betray this trust, love, and attention from my whole family, and I must remain grateful every day for what Allah has given me.

As I celebrate this birthday, I hold on to the wisdom from the Holy Qur'an that has strengthened my heart during difficult times:

"For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease." (Al-Inshirah 94:5-6)

With this faith, I pray for good health, peace of mind, and the opportunity to continue learning and contributing to society in whatever way I can. I believe that as long as we are alive, it is never too late to grow, to improve, and to pursue meaningful goals.

This is not the end of my story. This is simply another chapter in my journey.

One month ago, around the end of March, I experienced a simple event that at first seemed ordinary, but later gave me a deep lesson. It was not about a big problem or a conflict. It was only about an invitation to gather at my house that did not receive a response as I expected.

As human beings, we have all been in a situation where we wait. We wait for news, for an answer, or for someone's presence. In this experience, I learned that waiting without certainty can be emotionally tiring, even if the situation looks small from the outside.

I have something to share with you in this article.

The Beginning: A Good Intention
At that time, I planned to hold a small gathering at my home. It was not a big celebration. I simply wanted to build friendship with my co-workers who work together with me every day. I invited about twelve friends from one team through our WhatsApp group.

I sent the invitation on Wednesday, March 25th, at 10 a.m. in the morning at my home. I clearly mentioned the date, time, and place, and I hoped they could come to have a friendly conversation while enjoying simple food.

This is my house located in Duta Bandara Complex neighborhood in West Kalimantan , Indonesia. My house nears to Supadio International Airport, only 5-minute drive from my house. Together with my family, we started to prepare everything. We cleaned the house, prepared meals, and set aside our time to welcome guests.

For me, inviting people to my home is not just a formality. There is a sense of responsibility as a host. There is a desire to give the best welcome, even in a simple way. There is also hope that the meeting can strengthen relationships and create a warm atmosphere.

The Waiting Day
The day finally arrived. Since the morning, we were ready. The table was prepared, the food was ready, and the house felt more lively. As a host, I felt excited to wait for the guests to come.

I prepared delicious food, including meatballs (bakso), tasty cakes, and non-alcoholic drinks. Most of my friends who were invited are Muslims, including myself. There is only one Christian, who was also very warmly welcomed to join.

But time kept moving.

Morning changed to afternoon. Afternoon changed to evening. Evening changed to night.

Until the end of the day, not one of them came. More than that, there was no message or news to tell me whether they would come or not.

At that moment, honestly, I felt disappointed. Not because they did not come, but because I was waiting without certainty. The feeling of waiting was the hardest part. We had prepared time, energy, and attention, but we did not receive any information.

I believe many people have experienced a similar situation. It is not about how big the event is, but about the feeling of being respected or not respected.

Learning to Calm My Heart
After the event passed, I tried to calm myself and see the situation from a wider point of view. I asked myself: maybe they had other responsibilities? Maybe something unexpected happened that made them unable to come?

In real life, not everything goes according to plan. Everyone has family duties, work responsibilities, and personal matters that sometimes cannot be left behind. It is possible that they wanted to come, but the situation did not allow them to do so.

Thinking about these possibilities made my heart more peaceful. I learned not to judge too quickly. I learned that in social relationships, empathy is very important.

A Positive Development
A few days after that event, something changed. Some of them contacted me through messages. They apologized and explained the reasons for their absence. Some were out of town, some had family matters, and others faced sudden situations.

Later, on another occasion, they came to visit my house. The meeting was short, maybe only ten to fifteen minutes. We talked casually, laughed together, and enjoyed simple food.

The atmosphere, which was once uncomfortable, slowly became relaxed. There was no long discussion about the past. There was no anger or desire to blame anyone. There was only a wish to keep our relationship good.

At that moment, I realized that sometimes problems do not need complicated solutions. Simple presence, a smile, and good intention are often enough.

The Lesson I Learned
From that experience, I learned one important lesson that is very simple but often forgotten: giving information is a form of respect.

When someone invites us, it means they have given their time, energy, and sometimes money to welcome us. Therefore, if we cannot attend, we should inform them as soon as possible.

Giving information is not only about politeness, but also about empathy. By informing others, we help them manage their time and feelings. We show that we respect their effort.

On the other hand, as a host, I also learned to be more patient and understanding. Not every absence means a lack of care. Sometimes it is only a communication problem or an unexpected situation.

Turning Experience into a Reminder
Since that time, I have tried to apply this lesson in my daily life. Every time I receive an invitation and cannot attend, I try to send a message quickly. Even a short message can help maintain a good relationship.

This experience also made me more careful in responding to social situations. I do not easily feel offended. I try to see things with a calmer mind and a more open heart.

Because in the end, relationships between people are not only about coming or not coming, but about how we respect each other.

Personal Reflection
Now, when I remember that event, I no longer feel disappointed. Instead, I feel grateful because I received a valuable lesson.

I realize that in social life, small actions can have a big impact. A short message, simple information, or a small explanation can make a big difference in keeping good relationships.

This experience taught me to be more sensitive to other people's feelings. It taught me to be more patient when things do not go as expected. Most importantly, it taught me to continue learning to become a better person.

Because life is not about who is right or wrong, but about how we learn from every experience

All Muslims around the world are now celebrating Eid Mubarak, also known in Indonesia as Lebaran. This special moment marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, a time when Muslims fast, pray, and practice self-discipline. Eid is a joyful celebration of gratitude, forgiveness, and togetherness.

Indonesia is the largest Muslim-majority country in the world. For many Indonesians, Eid is the most important holiday of the year. It is not only a religious celebration but also a cultural event filled with meaningful traditions and happy activities.

During Eid Mubarak, all families prepare some food and drinks for the guests who visit. All foods, including cakes, candy, and all non-alcoholic beverages. All you can eat for free.

One of the most famous traditions in Indonesia is mudik, the annual journey when millions of people travel from big cities back to their hometowns. Families reunite after months or even years apart. Roads, airports, train stations, and seaports become very busy, but people are excited because they can celebrate Eid with their loved ones.

Another unique Indonesian tradition is halal bihalal. After Eid, families, neighbors, friends, and coworkers gather to shake hands and ask for forgiveness. People often say, "Mohon maaf lahir dan batin," which means asking forgiveness for past mistakes. This tradition helps strengthen friendship and social harmony.

On the night before Eid, many communities celebrate takbiran. People gather at mosques to chant praises to God. In some areas, there are parades with drums, lanterns, and decorated vehicles. The atmosphere is festive and full of excitement, especially for children.

Many families also practice nyekar, which means visiting the graves of parents and ancestors. They clean the graves, place flowers, and say prayers. This tradition shows respect and love for family members who have passed away.

Food is an important part of Eid celebrations in Indonesia. Families prepare special dishes such as ketupat (rice cakes wrapped in palm leaves), rendang (spiced beef), opor ayam (chicken cooked in coconut milk), and many traditional snacks. Homes are open to guests, and visitors are warmly welcomed throughout the day.

The world is once again watching rising tensions in the Middle East. Recent news reports about military strikes involving the United States, Israel, and Iran have raised serious concerns about the possibility of a wider conflict in the region.

For many people around the globe, events like these are deeply worrying. War in one part of the world can quickly affect many other countries, whether through economic instability, political tensions, or humanitarian crises.

As an ordinary citizen of The Republic of Indonesia, living far away from the Middle East, I can only follow the news and try to understand what is happening. However, like many others, I cannot ignore the serious questions that arise when military actions take place between sovereign nations.

Rising Military Tensions
According to international news reports, the United States and Israel launched military strikes on targets inside Iran. These attacks reportedly focused on military facilities and strategic locations. In simple opinion.

The United States and Israel started a war.

Supporters of these actions argue that such strikes are necessary for national security and self-defense. However, Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks, increasing the risk of a wider conflict.

When tensions escalate like this, the situation can quickly become dangerous not only for the countries involved but also for the entire region especially in the region of the middle east.

The Human Cost of War
History has repeatedly shown that the greatest victims of war are often ordinary people. Civilians or even school students can lose their homes, their safety, and sometimes their loved ones.

Despite these disagreements, one thing remains clear: war rarely brings lasting solutions. Diplomacy, dialogue, and negotiation are often the most effective ways to resolve international disputes. The Role of the United Nations
Many people around the world are asking: Where is the United Nations in this conflict?

In situations like the current tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, the UN is expected to encourage dialogue and reduce the risk of a wider conflict.

The United Nations Security Council can hold emergency meetings and discuss possible diplomatic solutions. The UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, has also urged all parties to avoid further escalation and to respect international law.

However, the UN has limitations. Decisions in the Security Council often depend on powerful member states, and disagreements among them can make it difficult to take strong action. Because of this, the UN’s role is often focused on diplomacy, mediation, and encouraging peaceful solutions rather than directly stopping conflicts.

My Final Reflection
As someone who lives far from the Middle East, I may not fully understand every political detail behind this conflict. But as a human being and a citizen of the world, it is difficult not to feel concerned when military actions escalate between nations.

History has shown that wars often begin with strong words and military actions, but they leave behind deep wounds that can last for generations.As ordinary citizens, we may not hold political power, but we can still hope and speak for peace, respect for international law, and dialogue between nations.

In the end, the future of our world should not be decided only by weapons and military power, but by wisdom, diplomacy, and the shared hope that humanity will choose peace over conflict.

I have a few questions by the way

I really have no idea what the President of the United States was thinking when he decided to bomb another sovereign country with Israel without approval from the United Nations.
Why is Trump so sure that the American people want this war? Why does he bring America into harm’s way and put the country in a dangerous position, possibly becoming isolated from the world?
Why does he send American troops to be sacrificed and die for Israel, a country whose citizens do not pay taxes to the United States?
Why does America, under the administration of President Trump, seem to prioritize Israel and put Israel first instead of Americans?

Wafatnya Ibuanda tercinta, almarhumah Siti Rochayah, pada hari Jumat, 11 September 2015, menjadi salah satu hari yang tak pernah bisa saya lupakan sepanjang hidup saua. Beliau dilahirkan di Semarang pada tanggal 8 Februari 1938. Jika hari ini beliau masih bersama kami, tentu usianya telah menginjak 88 tahun pada tahun 2026 ini. Perjalanan hidup beliau yang panjang telah meninggalkan jejak yang begitu dalam di hati keluarga. Meski raga beliau telah tiada, kenangan, kasih sayang, dan nilai-nilai kehidupan yang beliau tanamkan kepada anak anaknya akan tetap hidup dan tumbuh dalam diri kami hingga hari ini.

Jadi ceritanya begini informasi bahwa Ayah itu sudah berpulang itu sudah diterima ya, sejak lama dari pihak keluarga, yaitu saya dapat kabar dari kakak di Bekasi, baik melalui pesan singkat WA ataupun dari sambungan telepon bahwa proses pemakaman akan segera dimulai, saya pun segera booking penerbangan langsung dari Pontianak ke Jakarta

Jadi saya dan istri serta anak memutuskan berangkat hari itu juga, hari Jumat, tanggal 22 Juni 2014. dengan menggunakan pada pukul 7 pagi. Namun sayang sekali pada saat tiket sudah tercetaj, kalau nggak salah ya, kalau nggak salah itu terjadi delay atau penunda dan delaynya lebih dari 3 jam atau 5 jam. Sedangkan pada saat itu prosesi pemakaman harus segera dilaksanakan. Kondisinya sudah mendesak. Namun Allah memutuskan, Ayahanda sudah berpulang ke Rahmatullah itu di hari pagi saya dan keluarga sudah bersiap-siap berangkat pada pukul 7.

Namun karena pesawatnya delay beberapa jam, Saat saya masih di bandara pihak keluarga sudah menghubungi saya lewat sambungan telepon agar saya yang masih di Bandara menunggu keberangkatan ikhlas karena almarhum Ayah sudah harus segera dikebumikan tanpa kehadiran anaknya. Dalam Islam pemakan orang tua harus dihadiri oleh seluruh anak anaknya. Sayalah satu satunya anak almarhum yang tinggal di Kalimantan Barat sedangkana kakak kakak di Jakarta, Tanggerang dan Bekasi. dan itu di pulau Jawa

Jadi prosesi pemakaman almarhum di Bekasi tidak dapat saya hadiri karena saya masih di Bandara menunggu delay selesai. jadi saya baru tiba di rumah duka di Jalan Sarbini Bekasi, komplek Jakasampurna Bekasi, itu habis zuhur. Jadi terlambat beberapa jam di hari yang sama..

Kenangan Indah Selama Hayat
Sebenarnya pada saat itu di bulan Agustus 2013, pada saat saya berlibur di Bekasi bersama keluarga istri dan anak juga di rumah lama di Bekasi, di jalan Sarbini Bekasi. Sebenarnya saya ada semacam firasat, bukan firasat sih, semacam ada pendapat bahwa dalam al-Quran, jadi bahwa tidak manusia yang jiwa pasti akan kembali ya.

Setiap makhluk yang berjiwa akan segera kembali ke pencipta Allah SWT. Jadi pada saat saya pulang ke rumah orang tua gitu kan, pada bulan Agustus 2013 bersama istri dan anak-anak ya, saya saat itu ketemu dengan ayah ibu di situ otomatis ya. What Does Fasting in Ramadan Mean? .
Fasting in Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. During this month, Muslims do not eat or drink from dawn (before sunrise) until sunset. But fasting is not only about staying away from food and water. .

It is also about controlling our behavior, words, and thoughts. Muslims try to avoid bad actions such as lying, gossiping, or hurting others. Ramadan is a time to become more patient, more grateful, and more caring toward people in need. It is a month of spiritual growth, self-discipline, and stronger connection with God. Recent reports say the hole covers around 30,000 square meters, or about three hectares. To imagine it simply, that is roughly the size of several football fields put together.If you stand at the edge, it looks deep, wide, and dangerous. This is not something that appeared overnight it has been developing for decades.

Is It a Sinkhole?
Many people call it a “sinkhole,” but geologists say it may not be a typical sinkhole like those found in limestone areas. Instead, experts believe this giant hole is caused by underground soil erosion, a process sometimes called piping erosion. This happens when water slowly washes away soil beneath the surface, creating empty spaces underground.

Over time, the land above becomes weak and eventually collapses. Central Aceh often receives heavy rainfall. Rainwater seeps into the ground and moves through the soil. Because the area has loose volcanic soil from ancient volcanic activity, the ground is more vulnerable to erosion. As water flows underground, it carries tiny soil particles away. Little by little, the underground space becomes bigger until the surface can no longer support itself and caves in.

This is why the hole keeps expanding, especially during rainy seasons.

What makes this story even more painful is that this child was described as smart and polite. She was not a problem student. She was a good kid who simply wanted to learn and go to school like other children.

For most of us in Indonesia, 10,000 rupiahs (less than 1 USD) is just small money enough for a parking fee or buying candy. It may seem simple, but for a young elementary school girl in NTT, Indonesia, it was not simple at all. My Opinions
The notebook and pen that the girl asked for cost less than 10,000 IDR, or under 1 USD. She wrote a final letter by her own hand as a farewell message to her mother before she took her life near a tea tree not far from her hut. In the letter, she told her mother not to be sad and to let her go forever. For me, this is an extremely touching and heartbreaking story

This case reminds us that education is not just about schools, teachers, or exams. It is also about access. A child should never feel desperate because of books or pencils. No child should feel that they are a burden just because their family is poor.

For me, this story is a wake-up call. It makes me think about how lucky many of us are , we have books, phones, internet, and even the chance to write or read blogs like this. Meanwhile, some children are still fighting just to get a simple pen and a notebook.

By the way, lack of access to school supplies can be caused by many factors. One of the most likely reasons is extreme poverty or living below the poverty line, which can contribute to mental or psychological problems in children. If there is no adult around to listen to a child’s sadness, this can lead them to make a terrible decision such as suicide.

For me personally, this is truly one of the most tragic and heartbreaking stories I will remember for the rest of my life. This young girl should not have died because of a lack of access to school supplies. I also have a daughter, and I am sure many parents who have daughters would feel the same way as I do.

I hope this tragedy will push the government of the Republic of Indonesia, schools, and communities to care more about poor students. Free education should really mean free including notebooks, uniforms, and basic supplies.

Most of all, I hope no other child will ever feel so alone, so ashamed, or so hopeless again. May this little girl rest in peace. However, joining a foreign military is not a new issue for Indonesia.

This situation has happened before. Former Indonesian Marine Satria Arta Kumbara lost his Indonesian citizenship after joining Russian military forces without permission from the President of Indonesia. The Minister of Law and Human Rights later confirmed that, under Indonesian law, serving in a foreign military without approval leads to the automatic loss of Indonesian citizenship.

I have no idea if People often say that joining the U.S. Army is not easy. I really have no idea about it, however from my perspective and assumption It requires strong physical ability, mental strength, discipline, and commitment. For some Indonesians living abroad, the U.S. military is also seen as a pathway to a better life, stable income, education, and faster access to a Green Card or U.S. citizenship.

From a personal achievement point of view, this looks impressive. But from a legal point of view in Indonesia, the situation is very sensitive. Indonesia has clear rules about citizenship. These rules are written in Law No. 12 of 2006 on Indonesian Citizenship.

According to Article 23(d) of this law, an Indonesian citizen can lose their citizenship if they enter service in a foreign military without permission from the President of the Republic of Indonesia (Now is Prabowo Subianto). This means joining any foreign army , including the U.S. Army , can cause automatic loss of Indonesian citizenship if there is no official presidential approval.

The Oath of Allegiance Issue
Another important point is the oath of allegiance. When someone joins the U.S. military, they must take an oath that includes loyalty to the United States and obedience to its Constitution and military command. Under Indonesian law, this matters a lot. Article 23(f) states that Indonesian citizenship can be lost if someone voluntarily swears loyalty to another country. So even if a person does not immediately become a U.S. citizen, taking the military oath alone can be enough to trigger the loss of Indonesian citizenship.

Dual Citizenship? Its a Confusion
This is where many people get confused. Indonesia does not recognize dual citizenship for adults. Only children can temporarily hold dual citizenship under special conditions, and they must choose one nationality when they become adults.

So if an adult Indonesian joins a foreign military and later becomes a citizen of another country, Indonesian citizenship is usually lost automatically.

From Indonesia’s perspective, it is seen as a transfer of loyalty away from the Republic of Indonesia. This difference in legal systems often causes shock when such cases go viral.

This is not just theory. Indonesia has handled several real cases where citizens lost their citizenship after joining foreign militaries without permission. Government officials, including the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, have repeatedly confirmed that the law is clear and has been enforced.

Remember the rule is real.
An Indonesian citizen can lose their citizenship if they join the U.S. Army or any foreign military without presidential permission, especially if they take an oath of allegiance. However, each case still depends on details such as whether the person officially enlisted, whether they took the military oath, and whether presidential permission existed. Social media often simplifies these details, which can lead to misunderstanding.

In the past week, many people in Kalimantan, includes in my area West Kalimantan, have been feeling unusually hot weather. Even though Indonesia in general is still in the rainy season, several areas in Kalimantan, that includes me in West Kalimantan, have experienced extreme heat, with daytime temperatures reaching 34 to 35 degrees Celsius. This condition has raised concerns among residents and authorities, especially because rain has been absent for more than 10 days in some regions.

According to data from BMKG (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika), this situation is not normal for the current season. Normally, Kalimantan receives frequent rainfall during this period, helping to keep temperatures lower and humidity balanced. However, recent weather patterns show a different picture.

More Than 10 Days Without Rain BMKG records show that several parts of Kalimantan have gone over 10 consecutive days without rain. This long dry period has caused the land surface to heat up more than usual. When the ground becomes dry, it absorbs and releases heat more quickly, making the air temperature feel even hotter during the day.

Many residents have reported feeling exhausted more easily, especially those who work outdoors. Farmers, construction workers, and street vendors are among the most affected, as they are exposed to direct sunlight for long hours. Even during the night, the air in some areas still feels warm, making it difficult for people to rest comfortably.

BMKG clarifies that Indonesia’s rainy season does not mean it rains every day in every region. Weather patterns can shift temporarily due to regional and global atmospheric conditions. Short dry spells can still occur, even in the middle of the rainy season.

However, what makes this event stand out is the combination of long dry days, high temperatures, and increasing hotspots. This combination is what makes the current heat feel more intense and concerning.

BMKG and health authorities remind the public to pay close attention to their health during this period. Extreme heat can cause several health problems, such as: Dehydration, Heat exhaustion Dizziness and headaches, Fatigue and lack of concentration.

Children, elderly people, and those with existing health conditions are especially vulnerable. People are advised to: • Drink enough water throughout the day, even if not feeling thirsty • Reduce outdoor activities during peak heat hours (around 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) • Wear light, breathable clothing • Take breaks and rest in shaded or cool areas

Fire Risk Remains a Serious Concern
With dry conditions and rising temperatures, the risk of forest and land fires remains a serious concern in Kalimantan. Past experiences have shown how devastating fires can be, affecting air quality, public health, transportation, and even neighboring countries. BMKG urges local governments, companies, and communities to stay alert. Early detection, quick response, and prevention are key to avoiding large-scale fires.

Residents are strongly encouraged not to burn land, even for traditional farming purposes, during this dry and hot period. One small spark can quickly turn into a large fire under these conditions. The good news is that BMKG predicts this extreme heat condition will gradually ease in the coming days. Changes in regional weather patterns are expected to bring more cloud cover and increase the chances of rainfall in Kalimantan.

However, BMKG also reminds the public that weather changes can be unpredictable. People should continue to follow official updates and warnings. After spending almost eight hours at work, it’s very normal to feel tired, exhausted, and low on energy. This is something I experience almost every day. I work from early morning until noon, and by the time I get home, my body feels heavy and my mind feels slow. Because of that, I believe it’s important to have simple ways to help our body and mind recover after daily work activities.

Before getting into the tips, I’d like to share a small note with my friends and fellow bloggers around the world. Since November 27, I’ve been working at a catering company with a schedule from 4 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday. This busy routine has limited my time and energy, and I haven’t been able to visit or leave comments on your blogs as often as usual over the past few days. This article is also a small excuse and an honest explanation. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.

Now, let’s talk about some simple and realistic ways to refresh our body after work.

One of the easiest things you can do is take a short walk. You don’t need to go far. A 10–15 minute walk around your home or neighborhood can help your body relax and your mind slow down. Walking helps improve blood circulation and releases some of the tension built up during work.

Next, try gentle stretching. After working for hours, especially if you stand, sit, or move a lot, your muscles can feel stiff. Stretch your arms, shoulders, back, and legs slowly. You don’t need special equipment. Just listen to your body and breathe calmly while stretching.

Taking a shower is another simple but powerful habit. A warm shower can relax your muscles, while a cool shower can make you feel fresh again. Choose what feels best for you. A shower also helps mark the end of your workday and the start of your personal time. Don’t forget to drink water. Sometimes we feel more tired because our body lacks fluids. Drink a glass of water when you get home. You can also have a light snack like fruit or yogurt to give your body a gentle energy boost.

Another helpful tip is to sit quietly and breathe for a few minutes. Before checking your phone or turning on the TV, take a short pause. Close your eyes, take slow breaths, and let your thoughts settle. This small habit can reduce stress and help your mind relax.

Listening to your favorite music or a podcast is also a great way to refresh your mind. You can use earphones, a headset, or even play music softly at home. Some people enjoy calm music, others prefer upbeat songs, podcasts, or even nostalgic sounds. Even 10–20 minutes can improve your mood and help you feel more relaxed.

ATR 42-500 Plane Crash in Indonesia: I Used to Fly on the Same Type

Indonesia is in mourning following a tragic aircraft accident involving an ATR 42-500 turboprop plane operated by Indonesia Air Transport (IAT). The aircraft went missing during a domestic flight and was later found crashed in a mountainous area of South Sulawesi. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.

The incident occurred on Friday, 17 January 2026. The ATR 42-500 aircraft, registered PK-THT, was flying from Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar. According to aviation officials, the plane lost contact with air traffic control while approaching Makassar. Before disappearing from radar, the pilot was asked to correct the aircraft’s position. Shortly afterward, all communication was lost.

There were 11 people on board, including 8 crew members and 3 passengers. Some passengers were reportedly officials from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, traveling for work-related duties. On Saturday, 18 January 2026, rescue teams found aircraft debris scattered on the mountain slopes at an altitude of around 1,300 to 1,400 meters above sea level, confirming the plane had crashed.

After reaching the crash site, teams discovered wreckage spread across the slope and nearby ravines. One victim’s body was recovered from a ravine estimated to be about 200 meters deep. Evacuation efforts have been slow due to the challenging terrain. Authorities have not yet released full victim details, as identification procedures are still ongoing. The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) is leading the investigation. Officials emphasized that the exact cause of the crash has not yet been confirmed.

I used to fly on the same type of aircraft as the one that crashed: ATR 42-500..

Well, when I had the opportunity to use KALSTAR , the same type of ATR 42-500 mentioned above, when I flew to Salatiga from Pontianak , West Kalimantan, Indonesia to take part in the Local Leadership Day II on 7-9 March 2014 with the purpose of Semarang, Central Java,Indonesia. As far as I know, there were no direct flights from Pontianak to Salatiga except through the city of Semarang. The distance between Semarang and Salatiga is not too far away

I remember the first time I flew with a propeller. This is as I recall. Hopefully it's not a mistake. What if the wrong memory can be what huh? Since 1990, the plane first boarded until the end of 2011, always flying using a jet engine. That is, there is no propeller. So, so, when Karlstar got up, the jeroji feeling (read: nervous) immediately beat my feelings.

I don't know the feeling of anxiety, jeroji (nervousness), kinds of raging inside this chest. Well, in short, my Karlstar plane is for Pontianak - Semarang flight at 07.55 WIB, it turns out to be around 25 (twenty five) minutes.

The first time to fly with Karstar has been greeted with a delay. And after all my business was finished I immediately went on board with a position near the Window. I always like to choose a seat near Window. The reason is clear, I always like to see clouds of clouds in height and moments when landing and taking off from Windows. Here I say in the photo below

My Thoughts for Passengers

Kasus Venezuela mencerminkan pola yang sudah dikenal: sanksi ekonomi, perang ekonomi, isolasi diplomatik, operasi rahasia, dan akhirnya aksi militer langsung yang semuanya dibenarkan dengan narasi moral dan hukum yang ditolak oleh banyak pihak di komunitas internasional.

Selama puluhan tahun dan di berbagai belahan dunia, Amerika Serikat berulang kali berupaya mengendalikan pemerintahan, mengamankan sumber daya strategis, dan membentuk tatanan dunia sesuai kepentingannya.

Bahasa dan pembenaran mungkin berubah dari anti-komunisme, perang melawan teror, hingga perang melawan narkoba namun logika dasarnya tetap sama. Pertanyaannya kini bukan lagi apakah sejarah ini benar-benar ada, melainkan apakah dunia akan terus menerimanya sebagai sesuatu yang normal.

When Google Decides to Delete My Inactive Account

A few days ago, I received an email notification saying that one of my Google accounts is going to be deleted. The email came from Google the company that owns Gmail. Honestly, at first I was a bit confused. For a moment, I even wondered who actually owns Gmail, then I find out that Gmail belongs to Google.

According to the email, the account will be deleted because it has not been used for more than two years. This is part of Google’s Inactive Account Policy. If an account stays inactive for too long, Google has the right to remove it, along with everything inside it. I understand the reason behind this policy. Google wants to reduce unused accounts, protect user security, and manage storage more efficiently. From their point of view, it makes sense.

Technically, I have one and only primary email that I have been using for the last few years, in addition to backup ones that I have prepared for some reasons. I am working with this laptop every day, checking emails and many other stuff. Photo Asep Haryono

Like many people, I have created several email accounts over the years. Some are for work, some for personal use, some for testing things, and some simply for extra cloud storage

Yes, cloud storage is one of the main reasons. A free Google account gives you storage space for photos, documents, and files. In the past, it felt useful to spread files across multiple accounts. But over time, things change.

Do I Care If This Account Is Deleted?
To be honest, not really.

The documents stored in this account don’t have much value. They are mostly simple photo collections and old files that I rarely look at anymore. There’s no important work document, no sensitive data, and no financial value inside.

So if Google deletes this account permanently, I won’t suffer any real loss. Technically, I could still recover the account. Google gives users time and clear instructions to reactivate inactive accounts. In my case, the deadline is July 17, 2026. If I log in before that date, the account will stay alive.

But here’s the thing: I don’t feel the need to do that.

Managing many email accounts sounds useful at first, but it can also become tiring. More passwords to remember, more security risks, more inboxes to ignore.

These days, I already have enough backup accounts to cover my storage needs. I’ve also become more selective about what I keep and what I let go.Letting one inactive account disappear actually feels… freeing.

Doing Nothing Is Also a Choice. If you’re like me and don’t want to keep an inactive account, you don’t need to do anything at all. Just ignore the email. Once the deadline passes, Google will delete the account, and all data and activity inside it will be permanently removed. There’s no recovery after that but sometimes, that’s perfectly fine.

Not everything needs to be saved forever.

First Time Flying a Drone

It’s very tiring and exhausting to write about sensitive or heavy topics such as the Minnesota shooting, the U.S. attack on Venezuela, and similar issues. I just want to relax with this episode a hobby. It feels like an interesting and captivating topic, right? Who doesn’t have a hobby? Everyone does. I have a few hobbies too.

Today’s story is a simple thing to me. I have a new hobby instead of reading books, blogging, listening to radio, cooking, cycling, jogging, that is flying a drone. A drone? Absolutely. Why not

The first time I really noticed a drone was one afternoon in my neighborhood. I was walking near a small soccer field when I saw a group of young men standing together, all looking up at the sky. At first, I didn’t understand what they were watching. Then I saw it a small flying object moving smoothly above the field. It was a drone.

One of the young men was controlling it with a remote. The drone was flying high, turning left and right, going up and down. It looked very cool. Later, he showed me some photos and videos that he had taken with it. The quality was amazing. From that moment, I felt very curious. When I looked up at the drone flying above my head, I felt like I was flying with it too.

I had never flown a drone before, but after seeing that, I wanted to try. I didn’t want to buy an expensive one right away, because I was still a beginner. Two weeks later, I started searching online for a cheap drone that I could use just for practice. There were many expensive drones with very beautiful cameras and advanced features, but they were far beyond my budget.

Finally, I found a small drone called the E99. It was more like a toy drone, but it had two cameras and could still record video and take photos. The price was only about 162,000 rupiahs, which is less than 11 US dollars. For a beginner like me, that was perfect. I thought,

“If I crash it, at least it won’t be too painful for my wallet.” I said in my heart

This drone is an E99 model, which I purchased from Shopee for around 160,000 rupiahs (less than 10 USD). It is one of the cheapest drone types in Indonesia and is more like a toy, but it’s a good start for a beginner like me.

I bought the drone through online shopping, so I had to wait for it to arrive. Waiting for a new gadget feels very long, doesn’t it? After about one week, the package finally arrived at my house. I was so excited. I opened the box carefully and saw everything inside: the drone itself, a remote control, a few batteries, a USB charging cable, and a small manual book in Mandarin and English language.

The E99 drone had dual cameras and could fly for about 6 to 10 minutes on one battery. That is not very long, but it is normal for cheap drones. I was ready to try it, but then I found another problem.

The manual book said that I needed to install a special app on my phone to see what the drone camera was recording. But my phone at that time was an old Samsung Galaxy A10s. When I tried to install the app, it didn’t work. My phone was not strong enough to support the app.

So, I had to make another decision. I bought a newer phone, a Samsung A26. After that, the app could be installed successfully. Finally, everything was ready.

The first time I flew the drone, I did it inside my room. I was too afraid to fly it outside. I followed the instructions in the manual and watched some YouTube tutorials. Even with a small “toy” drone like the E99, flying it was not easy at all.

I moved the joystick a little, and the drone went up. I moved it too much, and it suddenly flew forward. A few times, it hit the wall or the curtain. I was trying to record video while also controlling the drone, and that was very difficult. I felt like I needed more hands!

But even with all the mistakes, I was very happy. Seeing the room from above on my phone screen felt magical. It was like having my own little flying camera.

After a few days of practice indoors, I felt more confident. Then one day, I decided to fly the drone outside. That decision changed everything.

Outside, the space was much bigger, and the wind was stronger. At first, the drone flew well. It went up, higher and higher. I was enjoying the view and forgot one very important thing: this was a cheap drone with a limited control range.

Suddenly, the drone was very high in the sky, probably more than 20 meters. Then I realized something was wrong. The drone was no longer responding to my remote control. It was out of range, and the wind was pushing it.

I panicked.

I remembered that there was an emergency button on the remote to stop the drone. I thought that if I pressed it, the drone would return to me or land safely.

I pressed the button.

What happened next was horrible.

The drone did not fly back to me. It did not land slowly. It stopped in the air and fell straight down like a stone.

I watched in shock as my little drone dropped into some bushes far away. I ran to the place where I thought it had fallen, but I couldn’t find it. I searched and searched, but it was gone. OMG

My drone was lost. Just like that.

I couldn’t believe it. I felt sad, stupid, and disappointed. But at the same time, I knew this was part of learning.

Later, I joined some online chat groups with drone pilots and beginners like me. I told them my story. They were not surprised. Many of them had lost drones before too.

They gave me a lot of advice. They said beginners should not fly too high, especially with cheap drones. They said to avoid strong wind and to keep the drone within 10 meters if possible. They also said to always know the limits of your drone and your remote control.

I learned a lot from that mistake.

Yes, I lost my first drone. But I also gained experience. Now I know that flying a drone is not just about fun it is also about skill, patience, and responsibility.

One day, I will buy another drone. And this time, I will be much more careful. Maybe I will still crash sometimes. Maybe I will still make mistakes. But that is how we learn. After all, every pilot has a first flight… and sometimes, a first crash too.

Am still learning it
The E99 drone uses a remote that works together with a mobile phone. The drone camera is controlled through an app called wifi_cam. First, you turn on the drone.

Then you turn on the remote. After that, you open the wifi_cam app on your phone and connect it to the drone’s Wi-Fi. When it is connected, you need to calibrate the drone. Once everything is ready, you can see what the drone sees on your phone screen. You use your phone to take photos and videos, while the remote is used to move the drone left, right, up, and down.

But I am not giving up. I plan to buy a slightly more advanced drone, one that already has a screen on the remote, so I won’t need to use my phone anymore. That will make flying much easier and safer.

As a beginner, I have learned that it is very important to follow advice from more experienced drone pilots. I will fly lower, avoid strong wind, and always keep the drone within range of the remote. Even though I lost my first drone, I still love flying. When a drone is in the air, it feels like I am flying too like a bird in the sky.

The whole world, including me in Indonesia, have witnessed through social media platforms that In January 2026, an ICE agent in Minneapolis fatally shot Renée Nicole Good during an enforcement operation. Officials claim Good posed an imminent threat, but eyewitness videos show a different perspective, suggesting she was calm before the shooting.

The incident has led to protests and calls for an independent investigation. As of now, the investigation is ongoing, and the community is waiting for more clarity on what happened.

My question is simple. Why Do Immigration Officers Use Lethal Force?

Recently, a tragic incident in Minnesota shocked many people around the world. A woman was fatally shot during an immigration-related operation conducted by U.S. officers. This event has sparked serious attentions, not only about what exactly happened in that case, but also about how immigration enforcement is handled in the United States, and whether such extreme force is really necessary.

As an ordinary observer, I want to reflect on this issue from a human perspective, not a political one instead of I am not good at confrontation. I would like to find an answer to my question mentioned above. Why Do Immigration Officers Use Lethal Force? They are Civilian, Not a Criminal. You are not at war. Why did you do that?

One of the most important points to understand is this:Illegal immigrants are civilians, not armed criminals or terrorists. In most cases, they are unarmed people workers, parents, or families who entered or stayed in a country without proper documents. That is a legal issue, yes, but it is not the same as violent crime. I want to say one more time my friends/ My other big question is: Why do officers need to carry lethal weapons when dealing with unarmed civilians?

From a moral and humanitarian point of view, this feels deeply troubling. Immigration enforcement should be about administrative law, not battlefield tactics.

You guys said it was “Self-Defense”.
O come on.

The U.S. government and law enforcement agencies often explain that officers are armed for self-defense. The argument is that officers never know what situation they will face and must be prepared for danger.But many people find this reasoning difficult to accept in immigration cases.

Self-defense usually applies when there is a clear and immediate threat.

If the person being arrested is unarmed, surrounded by officers, and not committing violence, then using lethal force feels disproportionate. This is why many people describe such actions as excessive, unnecessary, and even cruel.

Militarization of Immigration Enforcement
Another my major concern is the militarization of immigration officers in the United States. Through many videos I have watched recently clearly showed that many ICE agents are equipped with: Firearms, Tactical gear and Military-style equipment. Just like at war zone

This creates an atmosphere of fear and intimidation, especially in immigrant communities. When officers look and act like soldiers, people naturally panic even if they have done nothing violent. Fear escalates situations. Panic leads to mistakes. And mistakes, when weapons are involved, can end in death.

I compare this with countries like Border Security Australia, the difference is striking. Australia also enforces immigration laws strictly. They search for undocumented immigrants and conduct operations. However, in many recorded cases, officers: Do not carry visible lethal weapons. Focus on questioning and verification. No bullet was fired

Use calm, firm communication. The emphasis is on control and procedure, not intimidation. This comparison shows that immigration enforcement does not have to involve deadly force. I love that

As far as I am concerned, In the United States, immigration enforcement is deeply connected to race, history, and systemic inequality. Even when officers say race is not a factor, the outcomes often suggest otherwise.

Communities of color feel targeted. Immigrants feel hunted rather than protected by the law. This erodes trust and creates long-term damage to social cohesion.

After a fatal incident like the one in Minnesota, many people ask: I would like you guys to investiage this issue as soon as possible. We do not have to wait so long for justice even tough you will need more time for Investigations because multiple agencies are involved, Evidence must be reviewed carefully and Legal standards are strict. While this process is important to ensure fairness, long delays also create frustration, anger, and suspicion among the public. Transparency during investigations is essential. Silence only deepens mistrust.

Whether the case will go to trial depends on Evidence, Witness accounts, Body camera footage and Legal interpretation of “use of force”Justice is not guaranteed but public pressure, media attention, and independent investigations can play a crucial role in ensuring accountability. Justice is not just about punishment. It is also about acknowledging wrongdoing and preventing future tragedies.

POV : What the U.S. Government Should Do Next
If the U.S. truly wants to prevent similar tragedies, several changes are necessary like limit the use of lethal weapons in immigration operations, Prioritize de-escalation training, not tactical aggression, Separate immigration enforcement from criminal policing, Ensure independent oversight for any use of deadly force and Treat undocumented immigrants as civilians, not enemies

Immigration is a legal issue. It should not be handled like a war.

At the end of the day, this is not only about laws or borders. It is about human life. A person died. A family lost someone. A community was traumatized. No policy, no law, and no enforcement operation should forget that basic truth. If governments want respect for the law, they must first show respect for human dignity. A Human Issue, Not Just a Legal One

The recent United States military operation in Venezuela has sent shockwaves far beyond Latin America. Regardless of one’s opinion of Venezuela’s leadership, the act itself challenges the very foundation of the rules-based international order and raises an uncomfortable but urgent question: are some countries now operating beyond the reach of international law?

The recent reports surrounding a United States military operation in Venezuela involving airstrikes and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife have triggered intense global debate. Beyond political alignment or personal views of the Venezuelan leadership, the incident raises a far more important question: does international law still apply equally to all states, especially powerful ones?

For many observers, this event is not simply about Venezuela. It is about the credibility of the international legal order itself. If a powerful country can unilaterally use military force inside another sovereign state and remove its head of government without clear authorization under international law, then the rules designed to protect global stability are at serious risk.

International Law and the Use of Force
At the heart of this controversy lies the United Nations Charter, the cornerstone of modern international law. Article 2(4) clearly prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state, except in two limited circumstances: self-defense against an armed attack or authorization by the UN Security Council.

In the case of Venezuela, critics argue that neither condition was clearly met. Venezuela did not launch an armed attack on the United States, and no explicit Security Council authorization was granted. From a legal perspective, this places the operation in a highly questionable position.

While international law recognizes that heads of state may be held accountable for crimes, the process typically requires international courts, extradition agreements, or multilateral cooperation not unilateral military action.

When one country claims the right to arrest a foreign leader by force, it challenges the principle that states are legally equal. If this logic is accepted, then no government especially in smaller or weaker countries can feel secure.

This concern explains why many states react strongly, even if they strongly criticize the Venezuelan government itself. The issue is not about defending Maduro as a leader, but about defending the rules that protect all nations from coercion by force.

The Question of Double Standards
One of the most damaging consequences of such actions is the perception of double standards. International law is often presented as universal and neutral, yet in practice it appears selectively enforced.

Smaller or weaker states are frequently sanctioned, investigated, or condemned for violations, while powerful countries often face limited consequences. This inconsistency erodes trust in the international system and fuels accusations that international law is applied based on power, not principle.

When the rules seem optional for the strongest players, they lose legitimacy for everyone.

Why the United Nations Struggles to Respond
Many people ask why the United Nations appears unable to respond decisively to such actions. The answer lies in the structure of the UN Security Council, where five permanent members including the United States hold veto power.

This veto allows any one of these states to block resolutions, including those condemning their own actions. As a result, the Security Council often becomes paralyzed precisely when decisive action is most needed.

The UN General Assembly may pass resolutions expressing concern or condemnation, but these are not legally binding. Without enforcement mechanisms, such responses remain symbolic rather than effective.

This structural imbalance has led many countries, particularly from the Global South, to argue that the veto system no longer reflects today’s world and is increasingly used as a political shield rather than a tool for peace.

The Dangerous Precedent
Perhaps the most serious implication of this incident is the precedent it sets. If one powerful state can justify military intervention to arrest a foreign leader, others may follow.

What happens if

• A regional power adopts the same logic?
• A rival state uses similar justification?
• Political disagreements become militarized?

History shows that once norms are weakened, instability follows. International law exists not because it is perfect, but because it helps prevent chaos. When those norms erode, the risk of conflict increases especially for countries without the means to defend themselves militarily.

Reconsidering the Veto System
This situation strengthens calls to rethink the UN veto system. Many countries now argue that while veto power may have made sense in 1945, it is increasingly incompatible with a world that claims to value equality, accountability, and rule-based order.

Proposed reforms include:

• Limiting veto use in cases involving clear violations of international law
• Requiring multiple vetoes instead of one
• Suspending veto power in cases of mass violence or aggression
• Increasing transparency and justification for veto decisions

While these reforms face political resistance, the growing number of crises blocked by vetoes suggests that reform is no longer optional it is necessary. Beyond Venezuela: A Global Issue

This issue goes far beyond Venezuela or the United States. It affects:

• Small and medium-sized countries

• Developing nations

• Regions with ongoing conflicts

• The future credibility of international institutions

If international law is perceived as a tool of the powerful rather than a shield for the vulnerable, countries may increasingly turn to self-help, alliances, or force exactly what the UN was created to prevent.

Conclusion: Law Must Stand Above Power
The alleged U.S. attack on Venezuela and the capture of its president represent a critical moment for international law. The question is not whether the Venezuelan government is controversial or flawed. The real question is whether any country, regardless of power, should be allowed to act outside the rules that bind all others.

No state should be above the law. If international law is to survive as a meaningful system, it must apply consistently especially to the strongest actors.

This moment should serve as a wake-up call. The world must decide whether it wants an international order governed by rules, or one governed by power alone. The answer will shape global stability for generations to come.

Hello there. How is it going?
How is your weekend my friends?

I have been writing articles for my blog for more than twelve years. Over that time, I have published more than five thousand blog posts. You might think that after writing that much, ideas would come easily all the time. The truth is, they don’t. Even with years of experience, there are moments when I sit in front of my screen and feel completely stuck. I know I want to write, but I don’t know how to start, what title to choose, or which angle feels right. My mind feels crowded, yet empty at the same time.

This feeling is not unique to me.

Every blogger, no matter where they are in the world, experiences this sooner or later. It happens to new bloggers who are still finding their voice, and it also happens to those who have been writing for years. Feeling stuck does not mean I have lost my ability to write. It simply means my mind needs a small push, or sometimes a gentle pause My fellow bloggers.

One reason we feel blocked is because we put too much pressure on ourselves. We want the title to be perfect before we write the first sentence. We want the article to be well-structured, meaningful, and valuable from the very beginning. When we expect too much too soon, our thoughts stop flowing. Writing becomes heavy instead of natural. In moments like this, it helps to remind ourselves that the first draft does not need to be perfect. It only needs to exist

Often, the best way to start is to stop thinking too much. Just begin writing whatever comes to your mind, even if it feels messy or unclear. Many good articles begin as simple thoughts, personal notes, or unfinished ideas. Once words start appearing on the screen, your mind slowly follows. Writing creates clarity, not the other way around. You don’t need to see the full picture before you begin. Sometimes, the picture appears while you are already moving.

They appreciate stories that feel real and relatable. Even a moment of confusion or doubt can turn into an article that helps someone else who feels the same way.

Sometimes, the block has nothing to do with ideas at all. It comes from routine. Writing in the same place, at the same time, every day can slowly drain creativity. Changing your environment, even slightly, can make a big difference. A new atmosphere can help your thoughts move again, like fresh air entering a quiet room.

At the heart of it all, writing should feel like a conversation, not a performance. When you write as if you are speaking to one person, the words tend to flow more naturally. Simple language, honest thoughts, and a calm tone are often more powerful than complex words and perfect sentences. Readers don’t look for perfection; they look for connection.

Feeling stuck is part of the blogging journey. It doesn’t mean you have reached the end. It simply means you are pausing between thoughts, waiting for the next wave of ideas to arrive. Be patient with yourself. Start small. Trust that once you begin, the words will find their way slowly, gently, and naturally, like water flowing forward

Wishing you peace, success, and happiness throughout 2026

January 1st, 2026 began in a very simple way for me. No big celebration, no luxury breakfast, and no fancy restaurant. Instead, I started the new year quietly, like many other mornings in Indonesia. Early in the morning, around 7:15 AM, I went to my local market near my house. The air was still fresh, the streets were calm, and the new year felt peaceful rather than noisy.

I was actually going to the market for a simple reason, but before going home, I decided to stop for a while. My stomach reminded me that it was time for breakfast. Near the market, there is a small food stall that I already know very well. It is not famous, not viral on social media, but it serves honest food. That morning, I chose something very familiar and very Indonesian: a plate of nasi uduk

What is Nasi Uduk by the way?
Well, Nasi uduk is a traditional Indonesian rice dish. The rice is cooked with coconut milk and aromatic spices like lemongrass and bay leaves, which give it a rich, slightly creamy taste. It is usually served with fried chicken, tofu or tempeh, crackers, chili sauce (sambal), and fried shallots.

People in Indonesia often eat nasi uduk for breakfast, especially from small street stalls or local markets. It is affordable, filling, and very comforting. For many Indonesians, nasi uduk is not just foodit is a part of everyday life and local culture.

This was not just any breakfast. This was my very first dish of 2026. Somehow, it felt meaningful, even though it was simple. Nasi uduk has always been a comfort food for many of us. It is rice cooked with coconut milk and spices, giving it a rich aroma and taste. For me, starting the year with nasi uduk felt warm and grounding, like coming back to my roots

The price was also very reasonable. A full plate of nasi uduk with chicken cost about 20,000 rupiahs, which is less than 2 US dollars. In today’s world, where prices keep going up, this felt like a small blessing. Good food does not always need to be expensive.

The plate was simple but complete. There was a piece of fried chicken placed nicely on top of the rice. It looked crispy on the outside and smelled delicious. On the side, there were crackers, adding a crunchy texture. There were also slices of cucumber, fresh and cool, balancing the rich taste of the rice. Another part of the plate was bihun, or rice noodles, lightly seasoned and soft. Of course, no nasi uduk is complete without chili sauce. Just a small spoon was enough to add heat and excitement to the dish.

To complete my breakfast, I ordered a glass of tea. Nothing special, just simple tea, warm and comforting. Sometimes, the simplest drink is the best companion for traditional food. Sitting there, sipping tea and enjoying my nasi uduk, I felt calm. There was no rush. The new year had just begun, and for a moment, I allowed myself to enjoy the silence.

As I ate, I looked around. Other people were also having their breakfast. Some were market sellers, some were workers, and some were just neighbors like me. Everyone had their own plans for 2026, their own hopes and worries. Yet, at that moment, we were all the same sharing a simple morning meal.

This breakfast made me reflect a little. Many people think that a new year must start with something big or extraordinary. But for me, starting 2026 with nasi uduk reminded me that simple things matter. Consistency matters. Showing up matters. Just like cooking rice every morning, life is built from small, repeated actions.

Nasi uduk also reminds me of patience. Cooking it properly takes time. The rice must absorb the coconut milk slowly to get the right flavor. In life, especially in this new year, I want to remember that good results do not come instantly. Whether it is improving my English, growing my blog, or working hard at my job, everything takes time.

This first meal of 2026 may not be memorable for everyone, but it is memorable for me. It represents humility, gratitude, and simplicity. I am grateful that I can still enjoy good food, that I can start the year healthy, and that I have the chance to continue learning and improving.

As I finished my plate and paid the seller, I felt thankful. With a full stomach and a calm heart, I continued my walk through the market. The year 2026 stretched wide in front of me, full of unknown moments. But if this first breakfast is a sign, I hope this year will be simple, steady, and meaningful.

Sometimes, happiness is not found in grand resolutions or expensive celebrations. Sometimes, it is found in a plate of nasi uduk, a glass of tea, and a quiet morning on January 1st.
