Moved to a bigger new office

We are growing and as we began to expand our teams we realized that we need a new office and finally we were able to move to our new office in the heart of Chennai (Chetpet)…. Right across Ega Theatre (by the way we all went to watch “Tara Zameen Par”). We went through all the stress of finding a new office space…..I guess now I have realized that how fast Chennai is growing when negotiating for space, looking for the right place/contractor, renovation to actual moving of furniture. Anyways now we have a new office…..really cool and we still need to fill cubicles and are looking for sales managers from Advertising industry, creative folks, web designer and programmers…… (Referrals are welcome)

E-TextEditor – The Power of TextMate for windows

Through the Ruby on Rails community, I had come to know about TextMate's power and functionality for Ruby on Rails developer, but couldn't get a chance to use it, since I work on Windows and Linux Platform. But googling for such an editor, I came across E-TextEditor and since then I have been using it. To be honest, I think the functionality and the work environment with this environment is great and I am also waiting for the release of Linux version.

You can download a Free Trial here. But I bought and having been utilizing it with no trouble.

Gruff Graphs for Ruby

I needed to generate reports for my application for which i tried my hand with Gruff graphs.

The Gruff Graphing Library is a project to make beautiful graphs with Ruby. Can be used alone or with Ruby on Rails.

Install easily with Ruby Gems (RMagick required):

sudo gem install gruff

Or, use the Rails plugin, which includes a generator for making a Gruff controller:

# Install the plugin
./script/plugin install http://topfunky.net/svn/plugins/gruff

# Make a ReportsController and functional test
./script/generate gruff Reports

That’s right - we launched ZestADZ in March 2007 and we have been testing the AD platform together with a select set of partners since then.

ZestADZ is India’s first complete mobile AD marketplace supporting SMS text, J2ME and WAP banner ADS. ZestADZ allows advertisers to launch Pay per click or CPM (which essentially means one thousand AD impressions) campaigns. ZestADZ is initially focused in India and the Asia Pac market.

So what is ZestADZ?
ZestADZ is essentially an ecosystem that has several publishers / content owners launching mobile AD supported services. Services could be SMS based, Mobile sites or any J2ME applications. We help them find an alternative and viable stream of revenues and bring better mobile services to the subscribers. By bringing in the advertisers - we are able to create a win-win revenue model that works for all of us.

ZestADZ enables the delivery of highly targeted and relevant mobile ADs to customers. The ADs are NOT delivered as SPAM messages, but essentially a part your service eg: it could be within a WAP site as a banner or within a SMS as a part of the message. Since then we have signed up a few advertisers who are have been trying out ZestADZ.

Mobile marketing is still in its infancy in India but it is a promising new medium. Advertisers won’t be rushing in with their AD budgets to us. But mobile, as a medium is very powerful and will deliver better results than most other mediums on the long term, and this alone will be a good reason to get interested in it.
