Skyfire is one of the best mobile phone browsers available and puts all the others to shame, even Safari on the iPhone. One reason it that is supports real flash and renders web pages just like they would work with your normal computer, something the other mobile browsers lack. Skyfire uses technology where most of the work is done on their servers, and then delivered to your phone.

Right now this browser is available to primarily the Windows Mobile  platform and I some Nokia phones.

I’ve been wanting an iPhone, but this is worth keeping my WinMo device for. HTC has two new phones coming out which look nice, the Diamond and Touch Pro. I’ll probably upgrade to one of those if and when it Launches on Sprint. My Mogul device is just so so.

Can’t wait to see this product mature and become more feature rich. I would imagine they’ve been using the iPhone SDK and testing with the iPhone but I wonder if Apple would allow it in their App Store?

I’ve mostly been watching Tennis and the USA Basketball team. Both which are going great. I’m not typically into sports much, but I’ve enjoyed watching James Blake do really well in Tennis. I’ve watched all three of the USA basketball games and they’re doing great as well. What’s really nice is you can also go back and watch the games you missed on the website. When USA played Angola I missed that one live, but I was able to watch it later which was cool.

The opening ceremony was great to, which I watched in HD. :)

Right now I’m using a Sprint Mogul, which is a Windows Mobile device. My device has 3G (EVDO) and GPS just like the iPhone but the UI is horrible. I haven’t had my Mogul that long and I’m already tired of it, although the GPS has really saved me a couple times. I actually miss my old normal phone a little.

The worst part is that I’d have to pay Sprint 175.00 to cancel my contract.

Well if I get an iPhone I’m sure I’ll write about it. I haven’t been writing much lately, but I might try to pick up again. I’m tired, off to bed.

I use Verizon as my provider and something they let you do is swap the ESN numbers on their site. So at anytime I can switch between using my external EVDO card or using the internal card. However, you’re limited to one ESN swap per day. I wish they would bump it up to at least two, but it’s better than nothing.

This device is pretty nice, and is currently one of the smallest EVDO devices on the market. I notice when using this device compared to my internal card I get a better signal. Usually about one bar higher.

I know Sprint has an equivalent device to use with their service.

I also just purchased a Cradlepoint EVDO router which I’m looking forward to getting, it hasn’t arrived yet. One can never have enough Internet. :]

While I use my Bose headphones at home and at work, I finally had the chance to put them into use on the plane. I have taken flights before this but last time I forgot my MP3 player. They really helped on the plane and made the trip much more pleasant. I was riding ExpressJet airlines and they have XM radio in each of their seats. I was able to easily plugin my own headphones without any special adapters which was really nice. On my return flight I used my headphones on my laptop to watch some videos. If you fly often I definitely recommend a pair of these.

I rode ExpressJet for the first time as well and I was pleased for the most part. My flight was direct, and I love direct flights. Also they pay their pilots bonuses for having their flights on time, so it’s equally as important for them to get you where you’re going on time as it is to you.

Recently I was looking for a solution for my problem and I came across this switch. Don’t get confused with the name, it doesn’t use Solar panels or anything, it still connects directly to the electricity in your house.

The switch is made by a company called Aube. The product works great, but I called their tech support to ask a couple questions about the wiring and they were extremely rude. They are based up in Canada and I had to specify for support in English, default is French. Regardless of their rude and useless tech support I was still able to figure out the wiring. My lights are configured with a 3-way switch with two switches and two lights which required me to use a jumper wire on the second switch. I called to ask a couple clarifying questions, but it didn’t help. I’m not an electrician, but I play one on TV.

I purchased my switch from smarthome.com. The price was reasonable, and they got it delivered to my house very quickly.

I took a snapshot of my finished product which is posted above. Now my lights automatically come on in the evening and turn off in the morning. I’m liking it!

I made this new category called Home Improvement and will be posting various things I do to my house to upgrade it. Other than some landscaping this is the first official thing I’ve done to my house.
