I recently read a post on Pinterest that made me realize what we have been doing

all along with our cabins and cottages. People would tell us that the attention to

details was amazing…. we are so glad they were able to pick up on what we were

striving to accomplish. So here it is in a nutshell:

Our winter special starts January 15, 2012 to March 15, 2012 ! we are calling it Fire and Ice ! Cold winter weather here in the mountains means fun in the fluffy white snow either here at The Farm or skiing on the slopes at nearby ski resorts. There are 3 within an hour of us, Cataloochee ski resort, Wolf Laurel Ski resort, or Sugar Mt. The Fire part of our package is Snuggling together in front of our cozy fireplaces (2 of them in each of our Cabins and the Cooper Cottage : 1 outside on the covered porch and 1 inside). Our Morgan Cottage ( with full kitchen and laundry) has 1 large fireplace inside. Consider yourself lucky to have the best of both worlds right here in Asheville where you can get great food, micro breweries, and entertainment all wrapped into one with luxurious trip to The Farm Cabins.

What a great place to spend a fall day…in a cabin, in the mountains of North Carolina with flaming red, gold, yellow and orange leaves swirling all around you. Just imagine sitting in our Amish rockers or curled up on the willow couch on the cabin porch , fireplace blazing, snuggled up with your honey and a warm drink!!!!! That’s what your missing if you haven’t been here to experience it for yourself….so what are you waiting for? Fall is : mountains, sparkling leaves, that damp leaf smell that warms your soul, hikes, jackets, long distance views that have been hidden by summers leaves. Sounds like Romance to me !!!

Asheville, Cabin at The Farm Hosts Screech Owl

What a treat !! when we realized that a beautiful owl was spending the day on our porch. It just so happens that the picture over the fireplace of the Chestnut Cabin is of a huge screech owl in flight. It almost seemed that this little guy knew he was supposed to perch on that particular porch. He was really very tolerant with all of us taking pictures and did not seemed to be disturbed by the flashes…except to open his big eyes and look down at us. We check every day to see if he has returned…not yet , but maybe when we least expect it, one of our guests will have the pleasure of his big eyes watching over them on the back porch.
