I didn’t think I’d make this one in time! Dad was giving me updates every couple hours and the last one had mom dilated to 4cm. Now she’s 9cm! I raced 20 minutes away to Baylor Medical Center at Frisco where I met the couple in time.

New hospital and new labor and delivery department for me! I had never done birth photography at Texas Health Presbyterian of Flower Mound. The doctors and nurses were so friendly and accommodating. It’s also a beautiful facility and it’s where I recently met Amanda and her husband who were expecting the birth of their son Case. It was an emotional day for the couple and their family. I hope this small preview captures that. It’s an honor to be a birth photographer and preserve these moments for people.

I wasn’t expecting any calls until January but you just never know. Births are unpredictable and this baby was coming early. Birth photography at Medical City Dallas is permitted as long as it’s not a C-section which this ended up being. I arrived and saw mom for just 1-2 minutes and she was taken away. I spent a lot of time with family in the waiting area and then photographed the little guy when he went to the nursery. It was a short and sweet visit but I was still able to get the photos that tell the story.
