Being 21 years as an Asian student, I think you have the qualifications to some of my comments. For Asian students, we are trained to be stored machine. All we have to understand that if we failed in our study, we would be failing in our lives. Our future will not be successful.
However, at least to me, I do not think that the way our life should be determined or dependent on paper - certificates. For me, what matters is the only study on the process to allow us to get more information. I believe that textbooks are the only source of information for us. Typically, Asian students are lack of creativity compared with Western students because only they know how to memorize facts in textbooks.

I do not mean that we should eliminate the examination system, but I want to emphasize the public should not be over-emphasis on examination results.

The system teaches us not to be thinkers, but a follower. There should be more emphasis on teaching us to think, solve problems, not do something simply because "the book says so".
For example, one of my subjects in my course in Aerospace Engineering Aust, we only had 3-4 exercises in the first full semester of 15 weeks. 1 week, we were introduced to describe the problem, designing aircraft using a set of specifications for one piece of A4 paper, as well as 2 A4 paper describes the design features that focus on that and ignore doing.
