GP Basic (지피 베이직) is a Korean pop girl group debuted in 2010 under GP BASIC Entertainment. At the time of their debut the group was composed of six elementary schoolers and middle schoolers. Janey was in 6th grade (elementary school in Korea), while the other five were in their second year of middle school, making the group's average debut age 13.5.

In 2011, before the release of their second digital single, Hannah, former leader who left the group for educational reasons, was replaced by new member Mooi.

Very young artist to say the least. Sorta hesitant to make this post. But they deserve a shot and their music and dancing is getting better and better every time they perform. They were originally a five member group modeled after the Pussycat Dolls, however in February 2009 Pledis announced After School would become the South Korean Morning Musume and added UEE to the group in April 2009. U-Kiss (유키스) is a seven-member Korean pop boy group created by NH Media. A Prime competitor for Super Junior. Their group name is an acronym for "Ubiquitous Korean International (Idol) Super Star". In 2010, the group debuted in Japan with the release of the Korean best album, First KISS.

They were originally a six-member group but in late October 2009 it was announced that sub vocalist Ki Sub joined the group. In February 2011, Alexander and Ki Bum withdrawal from U-Kiss, however only a few days later, two new members were announced, AJ and Hoon

G.NA was originally set to debut as the leader of girl group Five Girls (오소녀) under Good Entertainment, along with Wonder Girls’ Yubin, After School’s UEE, Secret’s Hyosung and former T-ara member and actress Yang Jiwon. However, the group disbanded shortly before their scheduled debut in 2007 due to Good Entertainment's financial troubles and the members all left for separate Korean entertainment companies.

When publicty pictures of G.NA were released, there was a great deal of public scrutiny involving her breast size. The singer claimed to never having plastic surger and that she is a natural D-cup.

On January 4, 2011 Cube Entertainment revealed that G.NA will be returning with a full official album this month. The MV teaser for "Black & White" was released on January 13, 2011 and the music video was released on January 18, 2011. The MV features 2AM's member Jinwoon. In addition, G.NA won on the 17th and 24 February on M! Countdown. On February 25, G.NA also won her first ever Music Bank for her hit song "Black & White". Music portal Dosirak has revealed that singer G.NA was the #1 best seller in digital sales for the month of February. According to information released by Dosirak on February 27, G.NA’s “Black & White” comeback album took first in digital sales. Also G.NA won her first Inkigayo Mutizen on February 27, marking her grand slam, for winning on all three music programs.

Don't really know much about this group and I have not seen much of them. Seems like a new very very young adorable group group through AVEX. They started there short career in 1990 Since they are extremly young I am suprised to see how amazing and tallented they are. Another thing about this group is that there is a young boy in the group. Interesting idea but it works well. Better to have a real boy in the group than to have a girl play as a boy like allot of jpop groups do. Really nice combination. They are soooo kawaii it is only a matter of time to see if they can continue to be successful. If you check back you can actually talk to them but I have not seen any shows scheduled. Niigaki Risa was selected from Love Audition 21 to join Morning Musume as a fifth generation member on August 26, 2001, along with Takahashi Ai, Konno Asami, and Ogawa Makoto. She made her debut appearance on the single "Mr. Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~," and first appeared on the fourth studio album, "4th Ikimasshoi!". In the same year she also participated in the summer shuffle unit, "Happy 7" along with fellow 5th generation members, Takahashi Ai and Ogawa Makoto.
Prior to joining Morning Musume, Niigaki was a finalist out of 1,000 entrants in the "Kiss Girl Audition" to become the new Tomy image girl, held by TV Tokyo's "Oha Star" program. She appeared in a commercial for Tomy Karaoke Machine Kiss-site. (Niigaki later starred in a commercial for the same company as a part of Morning Musume). Additionally, she did some work as a magazine model since spring 2000.
In September 2002, the fifth generation members were placed into the Morning Musume subgroups, so Niigaki was added to the Tanpopo roster along with Konno Asami and participated in one single, "BE HAPPY Koi no Yajirobee."
Niigaki was placed in Morning Musume Sakuragumi in January 2003 and released two singles as a part of the group before it went inactive.

In March 2006, she became a member of the kickball team Metro Rabbits H.P.
At the beginning of 2007 Niigaki was placed into the special unit "Morning Musume Tanjou 10nen Kinentai". The unit consisted of 1st generation members Iida Kaori, Abe Natsumi, 3rd generation member Goto Maki, Niigaki and 7th generation member Kusumi Koharu, was created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the formation of Morning Musume.
Niigaki became Morning Musume's sub-leader on June 1, 2007, after Takahashi Ai became leader following Fujimoto Miki's resignation.
Niigaki replaced Tsuji Nozomi as the voice actress for the character of Athena in the anime Robby & Kerobby, due to Tsuji's maternity leave. In October of that year, Niigaki was then placed into the unit "Athena & Robikerottsu" along with 8th generation Morning Musume member Mitsui Aika and Nakajima Saki & Okai Chisato of °C-ute. The group released two songs before becoming inactive after to the ending of the anime.
In July 2008 Niigaki along with Takahashi Ai, starred as the 70's idol duo Pink Lady in a TV drama called Hitmaker Aku Yū Monogatari.

On August 6th - 25th of 2008 Morning Musume along with the Takarazuka Revue performed a stage play version of Cinderella, with Niigaki playing the part of the prince.
In 2009, the members of Hello! Project formed seven special units to participate in a cover album. Niigaki became the leader of ZYX-α.
On the 13th of December 2010, Risa hosted the FIVE STARS radio program with co-host Kamei Eri for the last time before Eri's graduation. Risa will host two more episodes before the show ends. A new radio show will take its place in the new year hosted by Risa and fellow 5th generation member Takahashi Ai.
On the 9th of January 2011, fellow 5th generation member Takahashi Ai announced that she would be graduating from the group at the end of their Autumn concert tour, thus Making Risa the new leader of the group and also the member with the longest tenure in the groups history.

On the 13th of April 2011 Risa along with 9th generation members Fukumura Mizuki, Ikuta Erina, Sayashi Riho & Suzuki Kanon took part in the first broadcast of Morning Musume's new internet show UstreaMusume. The show is aired on the ustream site to which Risa plays the host generally conversing with the new members while mentioning comments from the live audiences

Rain (also known as Bi (비) in Korea or Pi (ピ) in Japan) is a singer, actor and model from South Korea.
He is known for his dancing skills and was a back dancer for Park Ji Yoon before his debut. He was also recently named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME Magazine. Also, he was found in People magazine's top 100 most beautiful people as well as voted the number one most influential person on TIME's internet poll. Many believed that the singer was voted by over-zealous fans that voted others down, but this could not be proven.

Rain spent most of his childhood living with his parents and younger sister, Jeong Hanna, near Yonsei University. Despite being an introverted and shy child, he discovered he had a passion for dance when he performed in a talent show for Sungmoon Junior High School. Rain initially had a difficult time balancing dance and academics and received low grades during the beginning of junior high because of his frequent dance practices. He decided to follow his passion and attended Anyang High School of Arts in Anyang, Gyeonggi, where he received his first formal instruction in acting and was able to continue dancing as well. Siwon was discovered by the "Starlight Casting System" in 2003 and debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005. However, he was first officially seen in a music video for fellow label-mate Dana when she was still a solo singer. He quickly emerged as one of the highly visible members, seen on many variety shows, although he has not been of the main vocalists.

Although his current focus is the group, Siwon has also continued his acting career. Shortly after Super Junior's debut, he joined the cast for the Korean dorama Spring Waltz. He has also been part of the epic film Battle of Wits with Hong Kong actor Andy Lau. Although Choi Siwon's registered birthday is February 10, 1987, he was actually born on April 7, 1986. Born in Seoul, South Korea, he was raised in an affluent, strict Protestant family. He was scouted by a talent agent when he was 16 as he was waiting for friends in front of his high school. He was recommended to audition for the Starlight Casting System to become an entertainer. Siwon's parents disapproved him pursuing in an entertainment career, so he had to secretly audition. He successfully passed auditions, and after consideration, his parents allowed him to sign under the talent agency SM Entertainment. Siwon said that although his father allowed him to sign the contract, he would not give any help to his son as he wanted his son to take responsibility in his actions.

He later moved into dormitories with fellow trainees and he was trained in areas of singing, acting, and dancing. Siwon stated that SM Entertainment saw potential for him in acting, and thus gave him training in the field. JapanFiles: TAIA's JapanFiles: TAIA's logo says quite clearly that you're from Okinawa, so obviously you're proud of that association. How does Okinawa affect your music?YASHA (bass): Since we're comfortable in this place, it's a great environment for us. We can be our natural selves while we work on our music.

SEIKA (vocals): TAKA and I weren't born in Okinawa, but we're strongly influenced by Okinawa's rich nature and calm climate.

FUGA (keyboard): Our music, even down to the instruments and editing we use, are mainly based on Western music. But I think Okinawa influences us unconsciously during the creative stage, like composing or imagining the lyrics. I can't say whether it's the local folks or the history or customs, but I'm happy if you feel something from Okinawa in our music.

JapanFiles: TAIA's music contains some very precise composition. Who is the main composer for the group? How much of the final song is written before rehearsals, and what usually changes when the whole band gets involved?FUGA: The main composer is the guitarist, TAKA. There are times when the guitarist (URA) and I will compose, too. It depends on the composer how much of the final song is written before rehearsals.

TAKA (left-side guitar): Right. When I'm composing, I just have the guitar riffs and I make a report like "I made a song like this," at the first rehearsal. Then each member adds things they want. I bring the idea, and the band completes the song.

FUGA: If TAKA is composing, almost all of guitar riffs are complete, but for other parts, we each add arrangements in the studio as we listen to TAKA's directions. Sometimes, the early structure of a song can change a lot if we feel it going in a different direction. For me, when I'm composing, it's a bit different. I add all the arrangements and complete most of the song before we go into a rehearsal. We'll work on the details for all the members in the studio, but the main structure of the song doesn't change that often.

History

The band was formed in 1998, by college classmates; Taka, Yasha and Hakua, as an Iron Maiden cover band. Seika soon joined and they felt having a female vocalist would make their music more interesting.

In 2000, Taia released a self titled demo and the following year a second, entitled "Sanctus". The group eventually found its current sound with the arrival of a keyboardist.

In 2002, Taia won a prize with their song "Beware". In the same year Fuuga replaced the old keyboardist, and the band released their first single "Sorrow".

In 2004 they released their second single, "Yumegatari". That same year, Taia went on their first tour in Tohoku, while Higa joined as second guitarist.

In February 2005, the band appeared on the Trendkill2005 compilation, and later in May on Total Steel Okinawa 2005. By the end of the year, on the 16th of November they released their first album, Asymmetry, which was followed by a tour in Okinawa, Tokyo and Osaka.

Drummer Hakua was replaced by Ara in 2006. On July 19 they released the EP Prayer, which was accompanied with a DVD.

In February and March 2007, the music videos for "Praise" and "Fuumai" were released, followed by their third album Seeds of Rain, on March 14. Soon after Taia began another tour.

On September 9, 2009 they released their third album Through Your Tears in two versions; Japanese and English.

Early life

Park Bom one of my new favs was born in Seoul, South Korea. I have not heard her much before but listhening to her song, "You And I" I quickly changed my mind. In 6th grade, she went to the United States to study abroad. She graduated high school from Gould Academy in Bethel, ME and enrolled into Lesley University with a major in psychology. As a high school student, she fell in love with music through Mariah Carey. She wanted to pursue it as a career but she did not obtain permission from her parents. However, with encouragement from her aunt, she transferred to Berklee College of Music to pursue her music career.

2009–present: Debut with 2NE1 and solo projects

In early 2009, Yang Hyun Suk, CEO of YG Entertainment, announced a new four-member girl group that would star Park Bom. The group's name was later announced as 2NE1, a quartet. On March 28, 2009, the group was first shown through "Lollipop", their collaboration song with Big Bang. It was unknown whether the group could survive on its own, but they reached number one on the Gaon Chart with their debut single, "Fire". Their follow-up promotional single "I Don't Care" did the same, and helped launch the debut extended play 2NE1 to number one.

In August, after finishing "I Don't Care" promotions, the group took a temporary hiatus with each member releasing their own solo singles. Park's single, entitled "You and I", was the best performing of the three and took the number one spot on the Gaon Chart for the month of November. In February, the group released a surprise single "Follow Me" that took number one for the week of February 13. They came back on September 9 and released three lead singles for their newly released album, To Anyone. The album went on to sell over 120,000 copies. At the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, Park's song, "You and I", won the award for best digital single.

In 2011, it was announced that Park would have a new digital single released before 2NE1 promotions for a new mini-album. The song was titled "Don't Cry" and was released on April 21, 2011. "Don't Cry" managed to top many of South Korea's music content providers' digital charts.

Origianlly a unit created out of rom the Hello! Projects Egg:

S/mileage was born with a 4 member jpop group out of Japan and has grown into being one of the hot girl groups out there. Wada Ayaka, Maeda Yuuka, Fukuda Kanon, and Ogawa Saki graduated out of Hello Project Egg and I guess if you want to say was promoted to becoming a new group for the what I like to call the, "Hello! Project Empire".

After a test or I guess challenge by the owner of H!P Tsunku which they had to succeeed in Tsunku said he would sign them up. On November 23, 2009, during Hello! Pro Egg's Shinjin Kouen concert, a video message from Tsunku was played to S/mileage, where it was announced that they would graduate from Hello! Pro Egg and make their debut in Hello! Project in 2010. Initially when the group was first formed, Tsunku had said that in order to make the best group possible, additional members might be added or current members might be removed. Wada, Maeda, Fukuda, and Ogawa were confirmed to be the definite line-up of S/mileage. They graduated from Hello! Pro Egg on March 27, 2010.

In February, Tsunku announced S/mileage's challenge for their major debut. By the end of March, they were to collect 10,000 photos of people's smiles and assemble them on a 2 x 4 meter poster board. Anyone could send in photos through the official website. In April, the announcement was made that the goal was achieved and S/mileage made their major debut in May.

AM, an “animation, music and manga” convention based in Southern California, recently announced two more bands as guests of honor: female pop-rock band SCANDAL and visual-kei band Sadie. Details about their performances have not yet been released.

The convention has already announced several other guests, including heidi. and Wakeshima Kanon.

SCANDAL formed in 2006 and made their indies debut in 2008. That same year, they toured the U.S. as part of the SXSW Japan Nite tour, and they also made a stop at the Sakura-Con convention in Seattle. They also performed at conventions in France and Hong Kong that summer, before they made their major label debut a couple months later. Their connections to anime include songs used in “Bleach” and “Fullmetal Alchemist.”

Sadie have been around since 2005 and have released a dozen singles and multiple albums, but this will be their first concert outside of Japan.

AM takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center on July 1-3, the same weekend as Anime Expo. More details about AM can be found on the convention’s website.

Y was the only single to be released from the boys follow up single-album. The teaser was officially released on 13 May 2010 in South Korea. The full music video was released at midnight on 19 May 2010. The boys received some lash back after Joon's character held a gun to his girlfriend and shot her in the music video. The boy's label responded with an apology, and a statement stating they would remove the scene.^[1]

One Better Day was also performed during promotions for "Y". The boys officially started promoting "One Better Day" on 20 May 2010, back to back with "Y". The song was never released as a single, nor was a music video produced.

Anime Expo 2011 to host Kalafina

The Anime Expo 2011 convention has announced that the female band Kalafina will be performing as guests of honor. The group has provided plenty of theme songs for various anime series, including “Kara no Kyoukai,” “Kuroshitsuji,” and “Puella Magi Madoka Magica.”
Assembled by popular composer Kajiura Yuki, Kalafina debuted in 2008 and has since then charted in the Top 10 several times. The group previously appeared at the Anime Boston convention in 2009.
At Anime Expo, Kalafina will perform at Club Nokia on July 2. They will also be holding a meet-and-greet, an autograph signing, and a focus panel.

Kara (카라) is no doubt one of the most beautiful and tallented groups out of South Korea. Kara meaning, "joy" is a five member k-pop group under the company DSP Media. In 2007 Kara instantly became a hit with there debut album The First Blooming. Since then Kara has won countless number of awards such the Best Dance Award at the M.net Asian Music Awards and Best Female Singer at the 16th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards. [2007.03.29] The First Bloooooming

Dubbed the next Fin.K.L., Kara presents their debut album, The First Blooming. The teenaged quartet from DSP Entertainment consists of leader Park Gyu Ri, Jung Nicole, Han Seung Yeon, and Kim Sung Hee. The four girls teamed up with composers like Kim Tae Hyun who earlier worked with SS501. Their main track Break It is an energetic dance number with a funky touch. Also offering a mixture of hip hop, funky bass, and high vibe sounds, this 10-track album shows that Kara has both the looks and the talent.

K-pop pretty girls Kara launch their second Revolution of 2009! Kara got a big break after releasing their hit 2008 winter mini-album Pretty Girl, and they finally reached #1 for the first time this year with their single Honey. Now in the top tier of Korea's girl groups, Kara are releasing their highly anticipated second full-length album, and they're going for a more mature image and musical style this time. They teamed up again with the makers of Pretty Girl and Honey for their fresh new single Wanna, as well as the euro-pop dance number "Mister" (Track 1). 이번 정규앨범의 타이틀 [Revolution]은 음악적인 면과 비쥬얼면에서 많은 변화를 주었다는 의미를 담고 있으며, 앨범 발매에 앞서 공개한 화제의 스틸컷을 통해서도 이들의 변화를 느낄 수 있다.

Intro

Super Junior-M aka SJ-M, a 3rd generation kpop boy band group. Not all the guys here are korean as it is mixed both Korean and Chinese. SJ-M is produced by Korea's CT (Culture Technology) organization, created through a comprehensive localization strategy. SJ-M debut in 2008 8 with only seven members sub divided from the original group Super Junior with seven members: Han Geng, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun from Super Junior as well as two new ethnic Chinese members, Henry and Zhou Mi.
In December 2009, Han Geng returned to China to pursue a solo career and the group's activities were halted. In December 21, 2010 the Seoul Central District Court ruled in favor of Han Geng. A representative of SM Entertainment said that they will file an immediate appeal to reverse the decision SM Entertainment have yet to release statements regarding his official status with the group.
In February 2011, Super Junior members Sungmin and Eunhyuk were announced as new additions to the SJ-M subgroup, coinciding with the release of their 2nd Mini Album, 太完美 (Perfection). Currently, the eight active members are: Siwon, Ryeowook, Donghae, Eunhyuk, Kyuhyun, Sungmin, Zhou Mi and Henry.

중국어권에서 폭발적인 인기를 얻고 있는 슈퍼주니어의 유닛 ‘슈퍼주니어-M’이 1년 5개월 만에
발표하는 새 미니앨범 ‘太完美(태완미)’가 오는 2월 28일 국내에서도 발매된다.

슈퍼주니어-M은 지난 2008년 4월 중국어 앨범을 발표하며 정식 데뷔해, 각종 음악차트 1위석권은 물론 중국 연말 시상식 최고 그룹상 그랜드슬램을 달성한 바 있으며, 한국 아티스트 최초 중국 우표모델 선정, 세계적인 음료브랜드 ‘펩시콜라’ CF모델, 휴대폰 ‘OPPO’ CF모델로도 활동하는 등 가수뿐만 아니라 다방면에서 활발한 활약을 펼쳐, 이번 활동에 대한 기대가 더욱 큰 상황.

특히, 2009년 9월 출시한 ‘SUPER GIRL’ 이후 약 1년 5개월 만에 발표하는 두 번째 미니앨범
