Synopsis

Based on the hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is a fun-filled quirky romantic story of two very opposite people.

Megumi Noda, or “Nodame” is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. An extremely talented pianist who wants to be a kindergarten teacher, she prefers playing by ear rather than reading the music score. She is messy and disorganized, takes baths several days apart and loves to eat, sometimes stealing her friend’s lunchbox when it is filled with delicacies.

Nada Sou Sou (Tears For You) is based on a popular Japanese ballad of the same name sung by Natsukawa Rimi.

Eight-year-old Yota gets a three-year-old step-sister, Kaoru, when her mother marries a musician who is based in Naha, Okinawa. However, the man soon leaves the family and Yota’s mother becomes terminally ill. At her death bed, Yota’s mother makes him promise that he will look after Kaoru and love him as if she is his own flesh and blood. After his mother’s death, Yota bring Kaoru to his grandmother’s place which is on a small island off the coast of Okinawa. After dropping out of high school, Yota (Satoshi Tsumabuki) leaves the island and heads to Naha to earn a living in order to support his sister. He manages to secure two jobs; a delivery-man by day and a restaurant helper by night.

When Kaoru (Masami Nagasawa) turns 16, she re-joins Yota when she secures a place in an Okinawan high school. Determined to see his sister through high school and college, Yota works doubly hard. He is also planning to open his own restaurant. Unfortunately, his investment is wiped out when Yota gets swindled by Mr Kameoka, a conman who sells him a plot of land. Saddled in debt, Yota’s relationship with his rich girlfriend, Keiko, is affected when her father offers to pay off his loan on the grounds that Yota breaks up with his daughter. Although Yota does not accept the money, he does not feel good about the relationship and decides to leave Keiko.

Three years have passed and Kaoru aces her high school studies and gets into a prestigious college. Over the years, the love between Kaoru and Yota grows stronger as one becomes more protective towards the other. Kaoru decides to leave on her own when she enters college as she feels that her feelings of love for Yota has grown out of hand. Unable to understand Kaoru, Yota allows her to leave.

Directed by Nobuhiro Do, Nada Sou Sou is set to be a tear-jerker but it falls slightly short because of Nagasawa’s cutesyness. Her high-pitched voice and Kaoru’s constant whining and yelling out “Nee Nee” (big brother) sometimes prove to be an anti-climax to otherwise moving scenes. It is also hard to initially believe Tsumabuki’s character because one is used to seeing him playing the fool in the 2001’s Waterboys and 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Thankfully, as the story goes on, Tsumabuki’s portrayal of Yota becomes grittier and it gets easier for us to emphatise with him.

Another highlight of Nada Sou Sou has to be its magnificent cinematography. With rustic Okinawa as the backdrop, one will definitely be charmed by its laidback nature. This definitely enhance the storyline as audience can relate to Yota’s struggle to get out of poverty. The haunting soundtrack also hikes up a tear factor to the two-hour movie.

The opening starts with the introduction of a genius. At 17, Tae Woong (Hyun Bin) meets two people who will later become people he loves. One becomes his best friend and the other, his love.

The guy he meets is Kim Jeong Kyu Lee Sun Ho also classified as a genius, and though at first they did not get along, they soon set aside their differences and became best friends. Jeong Kyu tells Tae Woong about a girl he admires and promises to introduce him to her. When Tae Woong asks him why Jeong Kyu won't ask the girl out himself, Jeong Kyu says that he doesn't have time if he wants to win the award in math for the Nobel Peace Prize; his dad's dream and his.

Tae Woong meets a little girl being bullied by older girls for her money and saves her. The girl develops a crush on him and gives him her beeper for future contact. She later contacts him and he finds out that she was running away from home, and for a day the two run away together to an amusement park. She gets into a cab to go home but reminds Tae Woong that he never found out her name.

Later on, Tae Woong and Jeong Kyu both enter an international math Olympiad that Jeong Kyu and his father want to win badly. When Tae Woong wins, Jeong Kyu commits suicide.

The following tragic events soon took its toll on the rest of Tae Woong's life, and forgets about ever set a date to meet the little girl. Then, for 8 years he struggled to carry on with his life.

At 25, Tae Woong is now a third class boxer and in unexpected events, finds Bo Ra (Sung Yu Ri), the little girl he once knew.

The tale continues into the world of the cold-hearted Bo Ra and it is only Tae Woong that could possibly melt her heart. It slowly unfolds many secrets along the way and the past is soon to be made right again. With the help of Tae Woong's love, Bo Ra learns to find happiness within herself, and in return, Tae Woong comes into terms with his past.

Although this winter will be very cold and scary, winter is not the end of the seasons, but the beginning of the hope for a greater love.

Have you ever feel regret and want to go back to redo the event?

Iwase Ken and Yoshida Rei are childhood friends. They are always beside each other. Little does Ken realize, he actually likes Rei a lot. But it’s too late; Rei is marrying someone else. He regrets on not telling her his feelings back then. “I want to go back~”

Suddenly, a man appears, claiming to be a fairy o.o; Seeing how pitiful Ken is, he decides to grant his wish. Hallelujah Chance!

Ken goes back to his high school years. He gets a second chance to confess to Rei.

He is laid back and a loose person, who shouts, “NOOOO” a lot. Besides falling in love and showing more expressions, he’s like YamaPi’s other characters except for Akira.

YamaPi’s face is SO cute when he freaks out!!! He runs a lot in this drama. He ran more than these scenes shown here! *pats him* There is one episode where he wears a shirt that says, “I have great character” XD I wonder if that refers to anything… LOL Sometimes, I think about the light that keeps shining on him. “Wow, he’s going to go blind like that..” This is the first drama that I’ve been keeping up with at the same time when it airs in Japan. It was fun because YamaPi wrote about these stuff when he filmed it, like the karaoke place, the running, the water balloons, etc. I like to see what he was referring to when watching the drama.

Rei first met Ken in elementary school. Ever since that incident occurred, they started to hang out together. Rei is active and can be a competitive person.

Eri can be a bit self-centered. She often falls in love. She likes guys who are tall and athletic. Her dream is to find the right guy to spend the rest of her life with.

Mikio is the most mature out of the group. He’s the first one in the group who has a steady girlfriend. He wants to be a film maker. He tries really hard to become one.

Tsuru is…short… He’s usually a target to make fun of because of his height. He likes Eri. He joins the baseball club and tries to grow taller, just to win her heart.

Oh, that marathon guy. He’s awesome!!

And there’s this store manager who doesn’t have any customers except for the five main people…

After Ken goes back in time, he realizes his attitudes of his past self, the things he shouldn’t have done and hasn’t treasure them enough. He was careless and always make Rei upset. He decides change his surroundings for a better future.

There is another theme to this drama besides romance. And that is: friendship. The five people have known each other for a very long time. From high school to the present. Good times, bad times. All spent together. The New Year scene is one of my favorites. “Happy New Year Part 2!” “Happy New Year Part 3!” It really show how much they care.

This drama portrays the life of the 19th king of Goguryeo. Jumong, the founder of Goguryeo, establish Goguryeo with his Four Gods: Cheong-ryong (Blue Dragon), Baek-ho (White Tiger), Joo-jak (Phoenix), Hyeon-mu (symbolized as a turtle). The Japanese may know them as Seiryuu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Genbu. Jumong marries Soseono, who had a big part in the founding of Goguryeo. They have two sons, Onjo and Biryu. When the son of Jumong’s first wife came to Goguryeo in search of his father, and is named Crown Prince, Soseono takes her sons, Onjo and Biryu, South and establishs Baekje. This is how Baekje and Goguryeo were known as “brother countries”.

As time passed, the Four Gods secluded themselves from society and watched as Baekje and Goguryeo’s relationship worsened (worsened more mainly because Goguryeo’s king was killed in a battle between Baekje and Goguryeo).

One day, Ju-ahn, “Hyeon-mu” of the Four Gods, sees two stars sour up into the sky. Since one came from the palace in Baekje, it predicted the birth of “Su”, later known as King Ah-shin. The other star came from Goguryeo, prophesizing the birth of Dam-deok, later known as Gwang Gae Toh Dae Wang.

Realizing that his new master has come to the world, Ju-ahn awaits in the vast Manchuria with a young girl, Sujini, to see which of the two will be his master. Sujini was picked up as an orphan by Ju-ahn and considers Ju-ahn as her father.

Therefore, the story is on the Four Gods looking for their master, Gwang Gae Toh Dae Wang, who was an expert in tactics, the woman he loved (Sujini), who was also loved by the coldhearted King Ah-shin.

Who was Dam-deok (Gwang Gae Toh Dae Wang)?: He was the 19th king of Goguryeo (lasted from 37 B.C. to 668 A.D.). During the time of Dam-deok, Goguryeo was the most powerful nation in East Asia (yes, even the Chinese dynasty couldn’t defeat Goguryeo). At age 11, he was made the Crown Prince and became King when he was 16. In 396, he attacked Baekje (a nation Southwest of Goguryeo) and took over the northern area above the Han River. He defeated the many invasions made by the Yeon Dynasty (China) after 400 A.D. During his reign, the number of castles he took over numbered in the hundreds and villages numbered in the thousands. However, he died at an untimely age of 39.

Synopsis:

Ma Yoo-hee is the executive of an advertising company. She would never be caught dead wearing make-up and only ever wears black. Her hairstyle and glasses are severe, her only enjoyment in life appears to be the times when she's criticizing everything and anyone. All of her employees and co-workers fear her and she is constantly talked about when shes not around. Her stern and harsh nature has earned her the nickname 'witch' When it comes to romance she is hopeless. No matter how many blind dates she has, not one has ever led to a second. The reason for this is her negativity and her inability to loosen up and express herself. She however is completely oblivious of her faults and cannot comprehend why she is so bad when it comes to love.

Choi Mu-ryong is an aspiring chef with a passion for French cuisine. He has an innate ability when it comes to taste and perfection. Every piece of food and every plate he prepares must be perfect. However this tends to get him into a lot of trouble as when working in a kitchen every moment counts and there is not possibly enough time to take so much care in preparation and decoration of meals. His criticism of a head chefs cooking causes him to lose his job. His parents have never really approved of his aspirations and dreams to be a famous chef and insist he return to medical school. He decides to enroll back into medical school but changes his mind at the last minute and decides not to.

Mu-ryong discusses everything with his best friend and ends up going on a blind date to pretend to be someone else who backed out at the last minute. He declines at first since he already has a girlfriend, but his friend offers him money, and warns him however that the woman he will be meeting is rather different.

The woman he meets is Yoo-hee, and while under normal circumstances she would be rude, brash and boring, she tries to be nice and happy in an attempt to succeed on the date. However, her pretending is not very convincing and Mu-ryong figures that it would be a matter of time before she loses it. The date ends when Mu-ryong falls asleep for a moment, resulting in Yoo-hee throwing a glass of water at his face and calling him rude. He retorts back to her also, telling her to take care of her appearance the next time she goes on a blind date. The two then leave on bad terms.

While delivering food from his father's Chinese restaurant, Mu-ryong becomes involved in an car accident, coincidentally with Yoo-hee. They exchange insurance information and Yoo-hee learns that he lied to her on their date, realizing that his name is different, he is a year younger than her, and that he met her only as a favor to a friend.

Yoo-hee demands the money for the damage to her car to be paid within a week. However, Mu-ryong doesn't have any money, and yet Yoo-hee is unwilling to compromise with him. He decides to use his school tuition, which was given to him by his parents, to pay for her car. However, he loses the money after being mugged on the way to pay her.

Mu-ryong tells Yoo-hee he doesn't have the money but is willing to work it off, no matter how long it takes or what he must do for her to pay her back. Yoo-hee decides that Mu-ryong could repay her by working as her house keeper, since she continuously looses her previous keepers.

Meanwhile, Mu-ryong's girlfriend Seung-mi, who works at her father's restaurant, is expecting a new head chef: Johnny Kruger, a world renowned chef, who also happens to be Mu-ryong's idol and an acquaintance of Yoo-hee as well.

Prologue

A fateful romance amongst three souls that is sad but beautiful.

The time of dogs and wolves - L'heure entre chien et loup - (French) is seen when dusk becomes night as the sun slowly wanes between the mountain ridges. This is the time when day and night exist together.

This is the time when objects become dim to sight, and from far away, the lingering approach of a silhouette can be seen. Friend or foe. Or someone who protects. Or just a dangerous wolf...

Storyline

After his mother is brutally murdered in front of him by the Thai criminal syndicate Cheongbang, Lee Soo-hyun (Lee Jun Ki) is adopted into NIS agent Jung-ho’s family. Together with Min-gi (Jung Kyung Ho), Jung-ho’s son, Soo-hyun becomes an NIS agent. Soo-hyun met Ji-woo (Nam Sang Mi) when they were about 12 years old and has another fateful encounter with her 13 years later. Together they had promises for the future. One day, Soo-hyun leaves for an operation dealing with the Cheongbang, only to return in failure because of the resurfacing terrible childhood memories of when he was in Thailand. The chief of NIS agents, Jeong, proposes to the distraught Soo-hyun to infiltrate the Cheongbang. Through Chief Jeong’s proposition, Soo-hyun becomes an undercover NIS agent after staging his death. Hiding his past, Soo-hyun infiltrates the Cheongbang with revenge in mind, leaving Ji-woo behind. Under the pseudo-name of Kay, he passes through the backstreets of Bangkok. What Soo-hyun didn't know Ji-woo is the daughter of the same villain. Meanwhile Min-gi has fallen in love with Ji-woo.

With a foolish mother and the need to look after her younger sister, flower boy Go Eun Chan has had to give up the feminine image. It's a love story with Choi Han Kyul, who knows women well and thinks of himself as a great guy.

After accidentally being mistaken for a man, she starts working at Coffee Prince,and falls in love with the hot-tempered owner Choi Han Kyul. But Choi Han Kyul thinks she's a man, and furthermore doesn't believe in love. So she can't confess that she's a woman, and he continues thinking that the agonized Go Eun Chan is a man. Choi Han Kyul thinks he's experiencing feelings of homosexuality towards her, and gets heartsick laugh.gif . This side of him was drawn in a risky but fun way.

The part when he discovers that Go Eun Chan is a woman is shown in an undemanding way, and the story doesn't concentrate on just these two people, but also on the other people who frequent Coffee Prince. These people are shown one by one in a natural way, and since the story isn't just about romance, I think that if you're able to read the first volume, then you'll naturally be able to read the rest of the volumes until the end
