In general DNS cache takes time to expire. If you need to resolve new updated DNS or clean your cache you need to flush dns. Here is how to do it easily in all Operation system.

Flush DNS in Windows

1. Open Command Prompt
Win Key + R ->> type cmd ->> Press Enter

2. Now Flush DNS from Command Prompt
Type
ipconfig /flushdns

3. Open the link in browser you are trying to resolve DNS. Sometime you need to restart browser and clean Browser cache and cookies.

Flush DNS in Mac

1. Launch Terminal

2. Type the following command

OS X Mountain Lion or Lion (Mac OS X 10.7 and above)
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6
sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

Mac OS X 10.4 And Below
lookupd -flushcache

3. Open the link in browser you are trying to resolve DNS. Sometime you need to restart browser and clean Browser cache and cookies.

Flush DNS in Linux

Flush nscd dns cache

If you are using Nscd, you have to restart it. Run any of the following command

$ sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart

Or

$ service nscd restart

Flush dnsmasq dns cache

If you are using Dnsmasq, you have to restart it. Run any of the following command

$ sudo /etc/init.d/dnsmasq restart

Or

Flush BIND dns cache
If you are using BIND dns, you have to restart it. Run any of the following command

$ /etc/init.d/named restart

You can also use rndc command
$ rndc restart

Or

$ rndc exec

For a particular domain

$ rndc flushname asif.im

It is also possible to flush lan and wan BIND views using the following command

$ rndc flush lan

or

$ rndc flush wan

BTW for Linux the location could be dependent on distros and package. So, you have to adjust command according to your system. If you are running Linux assuming you know that much or you have to know that much.

Note: Yes, you could just edit your hosts file too. But I personally try to avoid it, as I think putting hardcoded IP in hosts file is not really dynamic.

Ruchira explained his point why we should avoid this type proposal in his blog. I generally get about 10+ emails per day to buy text link from some of my site, so I put a filter to remove those mails from my email box. Paid Text Links is just wrong in SEO sense, specially after Panda update, it will eventually harm both site. Also consider those very basic points.

1. Here sender wants us to put his plugin into our server and install a plugin he provides. This thing is very risky. You should be always very careful about installing anything in WordPress other than from WordPress.org. All good and legitimate plugin should have been in Extended, its free, why would some body not host his plugin for free in WordPress.org extended? That is the first thing you should note.

2. 2nd, this sort of Link Advertisement is harmful. Google will surely penalize you for sure sooner or later. This type of ads will harm both site.

3. He claims to pay $175 afterwards. So he will have enough time to hack the entire server (yes, it’s very possible, if that php file has shell script then its just easy as 1 2 3). Even if he don’t hack your site, he will have one year to spam all of your page. And showing advertisement of common spam drug selling or casino site’s link. It’s as dangerous like hacking your site.

So stay away when you get this sort of mails. And this $175 for one is already very poor proposal (Note: I don’t have any ads on this blog), but some guys could get intimidate. That’s why this Alert post.

I am not saying I dont like Dark Knight Trilogy. But I dont like this Dark theme. Getting always confused about who is Hero and who is villain is pathetic. And when I first hard about Christopher Nolan’s involvement with Man of Steel, and his approach to the script, I started to have bad feeling. Christopher Nolan is not director of Man of Steel, “Zack Snyder” is the director. But Christopher Nolan is the producer here. And most interesting part Christopher Nolan is also writer of this movie. He is the main person behind this Superman’s story. So, now you know why I was worried.

Millions of Superman fan have a way of understanding how Superman grew up from a small village of Smallville as Clark Kent. And how Superman turn up as the savior of Human Being. We understand Superman’s approach of being a good man, and struggle for humanity. I dont want to see the same Dark Knight type treatment in Superman story.

We all know Christopher Nolan has a very unique way to telling story and present “Heroes” in a different approach. And he is really one of my favorite Writer – Director. But I hate his try to give same treatment to all movies, to all heroes. The first trailer also gave us a hint that whole world will go against Superman, and will take him as prisoner. Just like Dark Knight. But Hans Zimmer giving us hope.

What Hans Zimmer Telling Us?

Hans Zimmer also composed for three Dark Knight films directed by Christopher Nolan (“Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” and “The Dark Knight Rises”). Zimmer also didn’t want to do “another really dark” superhero movie (in his own language). He said -

Everything’s tinged with irony and sarcasm and bitterness and darkness these days. But this Superman is something lighter.

Hans Zimmer also explained how he got involved into this project. He never thought or interested in this project. It all started with a miss understanding. And he decided not to do this movie. We could surely expect this movie will have an outstanding background score. And lets hope story and over all movie could live up to the Superman’s fan base.

Why We Are Getting This Error Suddenly?

From PHP.net

preg_split(), which uses a Perl-compatible regular expression syntax, is often a faster alternative to split(). If you don’t require the power of regular expressions, it is faster to use explode(), which doesn’t incur the overhead of the regular expression engine.

And, apparently “split” is removed as of PHP 5.3.x, in the preparation for PHP 6.0.

Warning
This function has been DEPRECATED as of PHP 5.3.0. Relying on this feature is highly discouraged.

So, you are not getting this error suddenly, your server PHP must have been upgraded recently to minimum 5.3.x or higher, and split() does not work with latest PHP.

Solution:

Just replace all split() with explode(). explode() does almost the same, so no worry.

Yes, solution is that simple.

Note:
preg_split still works.

Whats My Story Here?

Remember AmarIP.com? The Find My IP site I made? The server block I am hosting that site upgraded PHP to latest version and started to get this weird error. But thing is split() is a very common function, been used thousand times. And I have no idea that its been deprecated starting from 5.3.0, so had to dig a bit. Got my answer, AmarIP.com is now running fine. So thought will share it to help others, who already having this issue, or will have soon.

This will show details a bit details Version info of Ubuntu.

To Find OS Details(CentOs or redHat)

#cat /etc/redhat-release

This will show detail OS version details in CentOS or RedHat Linux.
