Seriously though these guys were a blast! I think I could be stuck in a room with Breann for 5 hours and we still would not have ran out of things to talk about! When’s the big day? August 6th, 2011

How did you meet? We met back in Vernon, BC during high school. Even though we went to different schools we knew some of the same people and even dated for a bit back in Grade. 11. We hadn’t seen each other for a couple of years until we both ended up in Calgary, I (Breann) came a couple of years after he did and was really hoping to run into him but didn’t have the guts to call him. Luckily I didn’t have to, because during my first week in town he had gotten my number from a friend and invited me over for a BBQ!

How did he/she propose? Two things to know about us are that Trevor can’t keep a secret and I am a tad bit of a control freak. Due to this we went to pick the ring out together so I knew around when it was done being made and ready to be picked up. I kept giving him a hard time asking when I got to see my ring! I came home from downtown one Friday afternoon and he had a trail of pink ribbon, crystal jewels and little sayings leading upstairs to where he was waiting for me!

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: She is smart, loving, beautiful, driven and outgoing (his words I promise!)
she says: His humor and ability to make me laugh always; he never stops telling me all the things that us girls love to hear.

he says: Kisses

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
Going out for a nice dinner, watching tv as a family (pups included)

he says: Caramel Macchiato

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Spending time with friends and family – especially my Nannie and Papa
she says: Having all of our friends and family in one place to share the day with.

These two dogs are so spoiled. Their little bride and groom outfits were bought especially for Breann and Trevors save the date cards! I love it!

When’s the big day?
April 30, 2011

How did you meet?
At an outdoor grad party around a campfire! A party that neither of us were the graduates, that was over 7 years ago.

How did he/she propose?
In our kitchen after I (Sylvia) brought Derek home a blizzard!
Apparently that is all I needed to do! Apparently Derek was planning on proposing in Vancouver the next weekend but didn’t want to wait!

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: She is the most caring person I have ever met, I know that I will be well taken care of for the rest of my life. I don’t know what I would do without her!
she says: That Derek really doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks. He wears, does, acts, and speaks however he wants. Sometimes to a fault but I think it is refreshing to have that much confidence in yourself and your decisions.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Cooking dinner at home together, rent a movie, and play Wii
she says: All the same but I love to top it off with a treat from the Marble Slab creamery!

Kisses, hugs or snuggles?
he says: All 3 at the same time!
she says: snuggles haha.

What’s your favorite thing to do together?
I enjoy doing pretty much everything with her! However we do like to shop and watch Shark Week!

Favorite Starbucks drink?
he says: Not a big Starbucks kinda guy…but she did get me hooked on the Tazo Chai Latte.

Your favorite hangout?
The man cave! aka our basement. Which sounds kinda weird when you say that outloud… but it is mostly cause that is where all our gadgets live.

he says: Italy with Sylvia’s family
she says: San Lorenzo, Italy

What are you looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
he says: Seeing her in her dress walking down the aisle towards me, and having a great evening with TONS of family and friends!
she says: To see family and friends under one roof dancing the night away, becoming an offical Welsh, and of course enjoying fine Italian cuisine!

This wedding was especially tough to narrow down for a blog post. There were so many great moments it was really hard to choose…these two have got to be in my top ten of best couples ever. Not that we don’t enjoy every couple we work with, but these two have an energy and a zest for life that makes you happy and you just want to hang out with them. They will go through life with lots of laughs and enjoy the ride no matter what speed bumps they encounter!

We also got to spend another evening with them out in Banff doing their Trash the Dress session..check back in a few weeks to see the amazing pictures from that session!

Where did you get married: Our hometown – Calgary!
What’s your Wedding theme: Summer casual elegance. Our wedding palette consisted of pale pink & champagne colors with pearly blue & orchid accents. We got really lucky with the weather – a perfect summer day that was sunny but not too hot! We also incorporated some Chinese wedding traditions with a traditional 10-course meal for the reception & a tea ceremony for our immediate families.
Her best moment: Walking out of the church as a married couple! The happiest moment of my life! I cried of course…
His best moment: Walking down the aisle with my new wife at the church after the ceremony. (we separately picked the same moment! Perfect!)
Fave wedding gift: We really appreciated all the gifts from our registry – we’ve had a chance to break in the kitchen items now and they are lovely! My friend Laura took the time to print out photos of Jason and I and put it all in a lovely scrapbook – it was really thoughtful!
Best surprise: During our reception, instead of guests tapping their wine glasses for us to kiss, our MCs got the crowd involved by making it a game – we would mimic whatever was demonstrated to us by our guests. One of Jason’s cousins brought his newborn baby girl up, dangled her by the heels and kissed her. I was reeling in shock & laughter!! I didn’t want my dress to flip up! LOL… Jason is a fast thinker though, and he was already up on a chair behind me. Then he bent over for a spiderman kiss. It was a blast!
How would you describe your day: fun fun fun! Having our family & friends celebrate this important start in the journey of marriage was fantastic.

When’s the big day?

How did you meet?
At work. Gilles was there for a co-op term, Laurel was there for a summer position. We started going for coffee almost every day and found we never ran out of things to talk about. We didn’t start dating until 4 months later when Laurel went back to school. She surprised Gilles by driving down to Calgary unexpectedly for a date.

How did he/she propose?
Gilles and Laurel both enjoy taking the motorcycle out on the weekends for a picnic near the mountains. One weekend, Gilles decided to pop the question on one of these outings… problem was, where could he hide the ring while riding for the picnic? Laurel would always pack the picnic bag… so that location was out of the question, and he couldn’t hide it in any of his pockets because Laurel would definitely feel it while holding on to Gilles on the motorcycle. Eureka! He hid it underneath the seat beside the battery. Once they arrived, Gilles told Laurel to go pick a spot for the picnic and he would disconnect the battery so it didn’t drain while they were out ( ;D ) They had a nice picnic and then strolled along the river. Gilles always has some cheesy one liners, so he went and picked some flowers by the river. He gave them to Laurel and asked “Do you like them?”. She said yes. Gilles then said, “Well I think you’ll like this even more then.” And he pulled out the ring and asked Laurel to marry him. And she said yes even before he had finished asking the question!

Favorite thing about each other?
he says: Her heart. She cares so much about others that I actually have to keep reminding her to think of herself as well.
she says: Gilles’ ability to keep me down to earth.

Your idea of a perfect date?
he says: Dinner and a movie, also enjoy weekend rides on the motorcycle.
she says: Dinner and a movie or a night out dancing.
