How To Build Momentum In Network Marketing

If you are in network marketing, this would have to be one of the biggest questions that get asked, “How to build momentum in network marketing”

Momentum in Network Marketing is the one thing that makes building your business a joy verses it feeling like you are going to the dentist every single day.

I don’t know about you, but the idea of sitting in the dentist chair every day and letting him drill or scrape my teeth is not a nice thought, in fact as I sit here and write this post, just the thought makes me want to run and hide.

Every leader will tell you that when you learn how to build momentum in network marketing you learn how to turn the Cash Machine on.

It is the goose that lays the golden egg.

There is a saying that goes like this:

“Do whatever it takes to get momentum, and once you have it, do whatever it takes to keep it”

So how do you turn on momentum?

There are some fundamentals you need to know and we will go through them here:

1. First you need to be prepared to WORK…If you are not prepared to put some “sweat equity” into your business, then you can forget about success. Nothing is going to work unless you do. Now don’t fool yourself into thinking you can do something for a day, a week or even a month and think everything is going to change.

Momentum comes from doing the things every day you need to do and then continuing to do them…not until you don’t want to do them anymore, but until you DONT NEED to do them anymore.

2. Be ready to get uncomfortable. Let’s face it, doing what you feel comfortable doing has got you where you are today, so it obviously doesn’t work.

The best in the network marketing industry have made being uncomfortable the place they feel the most comfortable. I know for myself now hat unless I am out on the edge, do the things no one else is doing, I feel like I am standing still.

3. Make a decision to speak to anyone and everyone. You as the leader get to determine the speed of your team… So how much work you do, will flow down through your team. If you are not doing anything, guess what, they won’t be doing anything either.

4. Use the people you get started to “light a fire”. In this process you use the activity that you generate to build momentum in your network marketing business.

5. Develop the 5 meeting plan with your new people but do it FAST. Get your new people speaking to people and establishing clients and quickly as possible. You want them making money, even if it is only a small amount within 48 hours. Give them things they will do…it can be facebook marketing, speaking to people they know or buying leads (I don’t like this one for a brand new person)

6. Continue bringing in new people yourself. If you remember that you are the one that determines the speed at which your business will grow, then you must remember that your people will be following what you DO not what you SAY!

7. PRAY PRAY PRAY: I know for some of you, especially those that do not have a connection with Jesus, will be thinking, “What does prayer have to do with it?” Well from my experience EVERYTHING!!!

Jesus is interceding on your behalf, He wants you to succeed, He died on a cross for you and rose again. He LOVES YOU, so why not ask Him for help…I do every day!

This is what I have done my entire time in network marketing. It works and I know it will work for you.

Is Pinterest good for my business.

If you are into anything online, then pinterest has to be something you are looking into.

I am hearing story after story of people putting something up on pinterest and it is generating huge amounts of traffic and sales.

I didn’t even know what pinterest was until I was over in the USA 2 weeks ago and a great friend of mine started to tell me about it.

He told me of people putting up an image on their facebook page, someone then putting it on pinterest and all of a sudden they had made sales, generated leads and their traffic had gone through the roof.

It seems that “social networking” is going to continue to boom as more and more entrepreneurs bring websites to the net that seemingly go boom over night.

So what is Pinterest?

Pinterest is a Virtual Pinboard.

Pinterest lets you organize and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organize their favorite recipes.

Best of all, you can browse pinboards created by other people. Browsing pinboards is a fun way to discover new things and get inspiration from people who share your interests. 

Pinterest has a definite place in the social media network and I think we are going to here a lot more about it.

As facebook becomes tougher to deal with (just like google did) we can expect to find new and more innovative ways to build business and make money online.

My suggestions with Pinterest:

1. Start an account (my account is http://pinterest.com/jameshannan/) make sure you follow me when you get setup.
2. Watch what the other more experienced “pinners” are doing.
3. Start having a go yourself.
4. More advanced design or get someone else to design some images for you.

But most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

Too many people fall into the trap of focusing too hard and missing the whole idea of social networking…and that is to build relationships and have fun.

The New Facebook Timeline For Fan Pages

The new facebook timeline for fan pages is going to have a major impact on businesses using facebook, especially if people just rush in without thinking…

Now the big question everyone is asking at the moment is “do i need to change my facebook fan page/business page setup immediately”.

Now as you may or may not know about me, sometimes, actually most of the time I like to go against the flow a little.

Everyone is going to be telling you to hurry up and get your page ready for the new facebook timeline for business pages, I am going to tell you the opposite and there is a reason.

I have a gut feeling, and that is all it is so don’t take it as gospel, that facebook are going to make more changes to the requirements and the rules surrounding it.

The reason I say this is because it is new and as with anything new, there is no company in history that gets it right the first time.

Facebook would most definitely done their home work, however they have not released it to the masses.

They will be watching comments and gauging the overall feeling of their community preparing to make the changes that they see necessary.

This change to the facebook time line for pages is massive. It is going to impact likes, optins, sales and more.

This means it will affect facebooks revenue, because if businesses can not monetize their pages, then they will leave in their droves and this will impact the bigger players as well.

So my little thoughts are these:

• Start preparing and writing down ideas on what you can do.
• Read the experts blog posts and see what they are suggesting.
• Watch what they are doing on their pages.
• Look at the big players like “coke” etc and analyse their pages.
• Keep taking notes.
• Brain storm your own ideas.
• Be creative.

This won’t be the last post I write about this change, in fact I know you will be receiving many more. I just felt I needed to help you alleviate some of the concern that comes with change and remove the feeling of “pressure” that comes when everyone is running around like a headless chook not knowing what to do.

Just be calm in this situation and breath.

It will all work out very soon and you will be able to make an informed decision about the direction you need to take.
