A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed patches, reported bugs, troubleshot hardware, provided translations and those actively helping in the forums. So many people have helped out with this effort it is impossible to begin naming names. We are a small group and could not have gotten this much accomplished without the community at hand.

We’d also like to thank our main sponsors Auerswald and Deciso for providing us with the financial means to continue full-time development as well as OpenVox who has donated a wide variety of testing hardware. You all are keeping this Open Source project afloat.

Another week of testing and we’re ready with a small update to pb14.1. One major fix in the release is the javascript changes introduced in pb14.1. Those changes have been reverted as they broke much more than they fixed.

A few new localizations have been added (Polish, German and Bulgarian) along with the internationalization support being cleaned-up / finalized for 1.0. Anyone still interested in submitting a localization now has a final set of strings to work with. Thanks to those already providing translations!

Also, a new feature on the “Services -> Voicemail” page was added which allows you to test your mail settings.

After many weeks and several hundred commits, pb14 is available for download!

Thanks to everyone who tested any of the 26 developer snapshots released as we progressed through this phase. Without this testing, we’d be unable to stabilize public betas to this degree. Another thanks goes out to our new developer, kryysler, who worked on many of the new features.

The major additions in pb14 are the installable package and permanent storage systems. This allows us (and others) to release packages which expand system functionality. The first package available is the logging package which maintains logs / call records through reboots. Log display pages are also now paginated and filterable.

pb14 also has a localized webGUI. As translation volunteers step forward, the webGUI will be made available in more and more languages. So far we have near complete translations for Finnish and Italian. Let us know in the forums or on the pbx-dev list if you are able to provide a translation for future releases.

Additional new features:
- a live / install CD iso is now available
- providers and phone accounts can now be disabled / enabled
- sip and iax accounts have connection status icons
- dynamic dns update client
- more secure machine specific HTTPS certificates are now used
- network interfaces are now automatically detected and assigned when using the generic-pc platform

Some improvements:
- help tips have been improved in many many places
- ISDN and Analog card configuration has been simplified

…and, of course, updated binaries:
- FreeBSD 6.3-RELEASE-p2 (network card support improved)
- Asterisk 1.4.21.2 (security fixes, many bug fixes)
- isdn4bsd r751 (OpenVox card support improved)

Downloads: http://askozia.com/pbx/

Enjoy,
-the AskoziaPBX team

Before upgrading from pb13.x or earlier: please backup your system configuration. While we have attempted to ensure upgrading goes smoothly, the permanent storage and package systems do execute some rather intricate commands upon upgrading. We and others have tested successfully many times, but a small number of people have reported upgrade failures.

We’ve just released pb13.3 containing a number of bug fixes and several new features. One thing that we wish could have been included in this release is fixes for PTP ISDN connections which are, unfortunately, still not working properly. The changelog follows.

http://askozia.com/pbx

New:
- isdn and analog interface settings can now be “forgotten” in the webGUI
- dialplan now produces more human-readable log messages
- Page() application to base distribution
- manual attributes can now be defined for ISDN interfaces
- “readback” numbers (used for unreachable messages) can now be set manually for SIP and IAX providers
- Voicemail enabled extensions now have an option to signal “busy” via tones instead of going to Voicemail
- LAN DNS IP now configurable via console (patch provided by devon in the forums, small fix needed)

Changed:
- busy extensions are signaled via tones for extensions without Voicemail enabled
- internal unique ids are no longer converted to names on the “Diagnostics -> Logs -> PBX” page

Killed Bugs:
- incoming calls from ISDN providers will now be accepted in more cases
- ISDN and Analog interfaces are now automatically renamed from “(unconfigured)” upon configuration
- ISDN Operating Mode is now verified before saving
- missed call notifications are no longer sent when a voicemail message was left
- using applications as a Provider’s incoming destination works properly again (potentially still not working) (reported by Marco in the forums)
