What I Think of Harrison Ford

I used to be a giant fan of the man that would be Indiana Jones years ago and then I read and saw a few interviews with him and because of a few things he said I started to sense that he was more a businessman than an artist.
Nothing wrong with that, by the way, just not as appealing when what you admire is the art.
A recent appearance on Letterman confirmed for me that is a selfish greedy prick when he said that the only reason he even signed a few autographs on the way in is because the shows camera was on him.
He made the statement that those people wanting autographs were not fans, they were “merchants” and without the camera on him he would have signed no autographs.
I understand the first thought is, good for him, damn those vultures making money off him.
But, think this through, the only real reason anyone would care about someone making money off their signature is that they do not get a cut. The autograph ends up in the hands of a fan regardless.
To be honest, someone that pays for the signature is probably a bigger fan on average than people that only get the autograph if it is free.
Another actor, I wish I could remember the name, got it right when he said he loves signing for the guys that resell the autographs, not only does he know a true fan that otherwise will probably never get the chance to meet him and get an autograph, gets an autograph, but he also knows that he helped someone who will never make as much money as he does, make some money.
He also pointed that he realized the more autographs he signs the cheaper his signature sells for on the open market. His fans win both ways, they get the autograph and they get it cheaper and he even makes someone a few dollars in the process.
A very intelligent understanding of economics and a very humble way of understanding the importance of your celebrity.
Mr Ford also probably has an ego about how much his signature goes for on the open market and probably thinks its because he is so important and famous.
Screw you Harrison.

Thanks Susan, keep up the great work and for doing your part in protecting your venues, and if I may say, the world, from the terrorists (we call them fans) finding tickets to sold-out shows.
Without your efforts their cheers, claps, and laughs would do damage to the soul that none of us would probably ever recover from. And lest us forget the evil dirty money they would spend on drinks, T-shirts, food and the other toys of the devil that are available during these events. All I can say is "Oh, the humanity."

Today our country celebrated the birthday of one of my all-time favorite human beings, Martin Luther King, Jr.
As a white man only one generation removed from the reality of slavery I celebrated the day and the man in the best way I know.
I enjoyed the parade that goes down Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta on its way to the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church on Auburn Avenue, took a few photographs of the celebration and then went to Underground Atlanta and hoisted a few hot ones in honor of the man.
Some people celebrate with alcohol, I look for any excuse to eat chicken wings.
Here's to you Dr. King, thanks for working so hard and sacrificing so much to make the world I live in just that much better of a place for everyone.

The NFL lost the biggest potential ticket draw with the Dallas Cowboys loss but its still a good ticket for the AFC and NFC Championship games.

Both games are sold-out at the box office but brokers have tickets starting at $175 for the AFC game and $300 for the NFC game.

Prices will probably come down a bit for the Colts-Jets game as we get closer but I do expect ticket prices to rise for the Saints-Vikings game as the game approaches.

If money is an issue and you want to take your chances the day of the game I would expect some deals to be had outside of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and you will have little worries of counterfeit tickets.

I can not recommend you go this route in New Orleans. There will be a bunch of sleazeballs in New Orleans selling lots of fake tickets. I do not expect too many real tickets to exchange hands outside of the stadium.

If you are a Saints or Vikings fan, bite the bullet and buy tickets from a licensed ticket broker such as WebTickets.com and be happy you have a real ticket to the game.

Waking Up with Twin Femgets

So I wake up today and laying beside and on me are two femgets (female midgets).
They are completely naked except for chaps. And they are twins. Pretty hot. Nice ass on the little one wearing the blond wig that is not quite still on her head.
That would normally be weird enough but I soon discover that I am made up to look like a pony.
I rack my brains for clues. I do not remember this being an unfilled fantasy. I am pretty sure I have already done this in my 5th or 6th year of college.
I just have no idea what has actually happened the night before but the room sure does smell funky. Not normal sexed up funky...femget funky I guess.
"So ladies, do I owe you anything?"
They just giggle and smile at each other, get dressed and leave without any words at all.
I pee and take a shower. There is no pain, nothing itches or burns and I see no blood running down the drain so I guess last night was just a harmless night of fun.
So kiddies your lesson for the day is that when a 400 pound bald headed woman with a nose ring offers you a pill and says "trust me, you will love this" you should just go home.
That is the last thing I remember from last night.

Soul Asylum Rocks Downtown Atlanta

Last night I decided to check out the 92.9 DAVE-FM Presents THE 2007 GUINNESS OYSTERFEST featuring Soul Asylum and The Lemonheads.

I am a long time fan of Soul Asylum but have been out of the music loop with these guys for a few years. I was especially curious as to how they were live since the death of Karl Mueller, a founding member and their former bass player.

Being a resident of downtown Atlanta I had no excuse not to make the walk down to Woodruff Park to check the guys out. So I did!
Let me first point out that the FEST was pretty lame. The crowd was small and the entertainment, food and beverage options were limited. But it only cost $12 to get in so I will shut up now.

I did almost leave when I got there and found out that they were out of Jack Daniels.

How can a festival with Jack Daniels as a sponsor run out of the product? Fortunately they corrected this later. Regardless, I was hanging in, with or without my favorite beverage, for Soul Asylum.

I got to the park just in time to see The Lemonheads. The show was OK, not much energy. One of those acts that has more songs that you recognize than you expected. Plus Evan Dando was hanging out with a hot blonde after the show so he is alright with me.
I pound a couple of more Jack and Diet Cokes, a funnel cake and a jalapeno corn dog while waiting for Soul Asylum. And yes, I think it is funny too that I mix my Jack with Diet Coke. Enough said.

So how was Soul Asylum? I must say that I was impressed. Was it an amazing show? No. But for such a small crowd in a lame downtown park I expected very little. They ended up rocking out pretty hard and Dave Pirner kept me entertained with a small soap opera involving his guitar tech. At one point in the show Dave snatched his guitar off, threw it about 10 feet to/at his tech while rolling his eyes in obvious anger and frustration at the situation.

I was impressed after all these years and at such an obviously unimportant concert that Dave was still passionate about putting on a good show.
Highlight of the evening? Black Gold from Grave Dancers Union which Dan Murphy dedicated to Karl Mueller with the tacked on remark of, "he couldn't be here tonight".
The bottom line, Soul Asylum rocked downtown Atlanta.

My personal scorecard for the evening, 2 Guinness, 4 Jack and Diet Cokes, 1 jalapeno corn dog, 2 funnel cakes, 1 Lemonheads and 1 seriously rocking good time thanks to Soul Asylum.
Trust me, fat, drunk, and rocking and rolling is not a bad way to go through life!

Tips for Ticket Buyers and Sellers this Saturday

Are you planning on heading down to Piedmont Park this Saturday looking for Dave Matthews Band and Allman Brothers Band tickets? Do you still have extra tickets you need to sell?

Here are a few tips to hopefully make this a worthwhile experience.

1. Buying tickets? There will be lots of counterfit tickets on the market and unfortunately the city of Atlanta does little to stop this crime. When buying tickets if they do not look right...do not buy them. If the person selling the tickets does not look right...do not buy them. Trust me, you will find more tickets.
One common problem and unfortunately it does not speak well about some people in our society is that not only will you have total scum bags selling these fake tickets, many people once they realize they have bought a fake ticket will turn around and sell it trying to get their money back. Sad.
So how do you protect yourself? First, ask to see an ID. An honest person who is not committing a crime will let you take a look. The con artist will double talk his way out of showing it to you. Again, remember, if it does not feel right, walk away.
Second, everyone has a cell phone. Ask the seller to call your cell phone from their cell phone. Again, the criminal is not going to give you their cell number, the honest person will.
Seem like a lot of work? There are plenty of honest ticket brokers in Atlanta that will sell you a ticket. Yes, brokers are expensive but buy fake tickets once and suddenly their service will seem like a bargain.

2. So how about the sellers? There are some silly laws in Atlanta about how close to the venue you can sell tickets. Technically how far you are supposed to be is irrelevant because the APD seems to invent their own paramenters every time they decide to enforce the law. Hopefully the police will have more important matters to deal with than hassling honest folks selling their extra tickets Saturday but you do want to be careful if you are too close to Piedmont Park. Technically you can be arrested for this oh so silly crime. My advice, get a few blocks from Piedmont Park before you start waving your extra tickets in the air.
You also want to be careful selling your extra tickets to scalpers. There are plenty of reasonably honest scalpers in the ATL but for everyone that will treat you fairly there are 10 that will pull every trick in the book to scam your money.
When selling your tickets, count the money out loud like you are a carnival barker, ask the buyer if the amount is right and when they agree, then hand over your tickets. Never hand a scalper tickets before the money is counted and right. Some will literally run once they have your tickets in hand and you will realize too late that they only handed you $4.
Another problem in the ATL, funny money. Most of the counterfit money that gets passed at events when buying tickets is of lousy quality and easy to spot. Take the time to check for the strips inbedded in the bills and a $2 pen that detects bad money is a good investment for anyone that ever handles cash.

Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Tour Ticket Information

Yes, this will be a huge tour.
I am getting lots of questions about this tour and my company is getting lots of orders and requests for tickets.
And, for the record, if you are not a fan, Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus are the same person. Or at least Hannah Montana is a character played by Miley Cyrus. There was a brief furious discussion in my office about this and I will point out that I WAS RIGHT.
I knew Miley was Billy Rays girl based on the name and that Hannah Montana was a fictional character so with my almighty powers of deduction I figured out that they were one in the same without the Internet. Pretty slick marketing, I applaud, make sure the world knows that Miley is not just a character but a real girl and set her up for a future beyond this character.
I did have to use the Internet to prove this to my employees but I was prepared to bet big bucks, time off, etc. Unfortunately my employees, I will point out, never take my bets. This is probably for the best.
The question I get the most about this tour is answered by, yes, all Hannah Montana shows will sell-out.
The next most asked question is "do I know how to get any cheap Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus tickets"?
We all know that cheap is a relative word, to some cheap means they want a $10 or $20 ticket and cheap to some of my clients is that they will only have to pay $1000 for a front row ticket. But I will assume that for most people it is the former.
With that in mind my recommendations for this tour are, one, try and grab some tickets when the shows go on sale. It is usually hard to beat face value.
Two, if you have no luck going that route I suggest simply waiting. I have a feeling that this ticket will be very expensive from ticket brokers, on StubHub and on eBay early on but as the shows come closer prices will drop. In some cities I think tickets will get very cheap as the venues are just too big and most demand will be filled.
The best times to check for a deal with ticket brokers are the day before a show or a few hours before a show. Many brokers dump their prices to move excess inventory the day before a show so that they have time to ship the tickets and some brokers wait until a few hours before a show if they are local or have TicketFast (print at home) tickets.
Third, if you have a sense of adventure you might just want to wait until the day of the show and see what tickets are going for out in front of the venue from fans and ticket scalpers. This is how I personally get my tickets if I do not already own them as a broker and I only sit in the best seats for most events. And I usually get the tickets fairly cheap.
This tour is basically targeted at children and tweeners, you will not find too many people at the shows above the teenage years other than adults and parents taking the kids to the shows. This means that everyone buying the tickets, ie. the adults and the parents, will want to make sure they have the tickets before going to the show. This isn't a rock concert or ball game where there may be less planning and more spontenity about going to the event.
This means that all the people that get stuck with extra tickets at the last second, and trust me at every event there are those people, will be out front trying to sell their extra tickets with not too many buyers looking to buy them as everyone will already have their tickets in hand.
This means that I predict that if you wait until the last moment you will in fact be able to get tickets for most Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus concerts for $10 to $20.
But if you go this route based on my prediction and I am wrong PLEASE do not be mad at me. I suggest you might just want to have a back-up plan for a dissapointed child or children such as Chuck E Cheese, a Disney movie or Putt Putt. I do not think I will be wrong but a back up plan is always good with children.
"Honey, mommy can only afford $20 for our 2 tickets. If I break your heart by not getting tickets and thus you will hate me for years and be scarred for life I will make it up to you by taking you to Chuck E Cheese for the 100th time!"

Mile High Fantasies

As I make my way through the metal tube that is Delta Flight 6446 I am already a bit delirious as I am now in hour eleven of this silly little waste of a day that started with a 4am wake up call.
It was not a good weekend financially for The Ticket Guy at the Newport Folk Festival, my 6am direct flight from Providence to Atlanta was cancelled and I am in desperate need of something to remind me why I work so hard.
As I approach my seat in the back of the plane for a moment I think I see the light...and the light is quickly extinguished when I realize the sexy little thing curled up in the seat next to mine is probably only 15 years old.
As I strap myself to my personal "can be used as a floatation device in the case of emergency" thing the first thought that enters my head is that I would really like to just reach over and start fondling my new neighbor without abandon.
Before you come to the conclusion that I am a child molester let me point out that at least once a week I also say to myself that I want to kill another human being (the same stupid people we all want to kill on a daily basis) and that does not make me a killer.
Yes, I am a pervert, ask any woman I have dated but I am fully aware of right from wrong and now besides being tired, grumpy and bored I am feeling guilty that I had the thought to molest some mans underage daughter because I am uninspired by my life in this moment.
Bottom line, no one has to worry that I will be showing up at their house naked with a four pack of Bartles and James looking for Lolita and ready to have a heart to heart talk with Chris Hansen.
I quickly focus my pervetic energy in a different direction, towards the flight attendants. The younger one is prettier and leaner but I quickly surmise that I would be too tired to do anything with her in my fantasies after all the effort it would take to remove that stick lodged solidly up her ass.
The older and wider attendant stops to make conversation with me based on the baseball cap I am wearing so just as any heterosexual man would deduct from this action I decide...she wants me!
This is not polite conversation just to pass the time...she wants me!
I can now relax. The 15 year old is forgotten and my mind has something to occupy it until we touch down in Atlanta.
My mind wanders with thoughts of a hotel room near the airport paid by Delta with my new fantasy drink-serving friend. Life is good.
Then it happens, a moment that will change my life forever...well, at least until the plane lands.
Beverage service. I order a diet coke...got to watch my figure...the 15 year old orders a beer.
A BEER!
Not only is she not 15, she is at least 21. She shows my soon forgotten friend and waitress in the sky her ID and I quickly return my sexual psychic energy to the creature living and breathing next to me.
The police can still arrest me with various charges if I act out on my thoughts but it will not be for anything that involves the word minor or child.
At this moment I really wish that I had Internet access. I am curious as to how much time I could possibly spend in jail if I follow up on my original idea of full contact groping and fondling. And would this be like an act of terrorism to the other passengers, would they band together to take me out?
Then she suddenly goes too far!
After finishing her suds she decides that she will torture me with one of the most erotic acts she could realistically perform for me per airplane etiquette by taking off her sweatshirt. This act reveals a pair of the most lovely and larger than I imagined set of pleasure principles with only a wifebeater and bra coming between them and me.
I decide at this point she is either a tease or simply naive. It does not matter, I admire her for either quality.
I have to take a moment to check that my mouth is not wide open and to calm my breathing and heart rate down a bit. I plan on dying by a massive heart attack while naked with a barely legal woman mounted on top of me but when I think of my death I am 84 years old. I am too young to die...and Delta would probably lose my body.
I wish that I could end this story with something more exciting. I control my actions with fear for the rest of the flight. Reality and a mild depression always sets in at some point when you fantasize about things you know you will never actually happen. In my other life I have the balls to do crazy stuff that I often imagine. Who knows, in my other life, maybe she even likes it when I start to fondle her and I do not even have go to jail. But I personally will never have the balls to do these things. That is probably best for me.
The plane lands, I gather my things and head home. I may not have any balls but I do have a hand and a fertile imagination and because of that my little Delta girlfriend will have the opportunity to spend some quality time with me once I get home.
