Booking online Rail tickets from Tatkal scheme has become very difficult. Had to resort to agents and shed extra money to book tickets. As most of you are aware of the new rules, to book tickets under Tatkal scheme. Thanks to the new rules, I was able to book tickets.

I would like to share with you some rules to book Tickets online from IRCTC website using Tatkal scheme. Following these rules may get you 90% success rate in booking the ticket.

Following are the rules:

1. Choosing the right browser

Many may argue with my point, but I am sharing you based on my experiences. Always use Google Chrome as your first browser preference and next choose Firefox. Open these browser simultaneously and open the website at sharp 8.00 AM.

2. Station Codes

Since 8.00 AM is the peak time, and website may take lot of time to load. Don’t add extra burden and waste your time by allowing website to give you station information. Remember the station codes and enter them as soon as you get the page. See the image below for example. It will save some valuable seconds of your time.

3. Be prepared before booking

Always keep the Passenger details, and new entry Photo ID card details ready before. Write all those details in a notepad and just copy and paste while booking the ticket. You don’t want to type and waste your valuable few more seconds that may cost you dearly.

4. Using Autofill plugins

Use autofill plugins to fill your credit card details. You can find many plugins for Firefox and Chrome easily.

5. Choosing the right payment Method

This is the most important rule. Always use your credit card as the payment method and never use Net Banking. If you use Net Banking, it will take lot of your precious time and most of the times, your transaction may fail while returning from your banking site to IRCTC. So always use Credit card and use autofill to fill the details quickly.

Last but not least, wake up on time and do your prep work.

By following above simple rules you can save valuable time and get the high rate of successful booking of your rail ticket online. Happy journey

There was an old Google search trick to search Mediafire files using the below code:

site:mediafire.com -site:mediafire.com/*.php -site:mediafire.com/*/wordpress themes

Where highlighted text is the keyword to search from Mediafire. Wait !! don’t use that trick, there is more good news. You can use a chrome extension, which does the same thing.

Using Chrome extension

First download the Mediafire Super Search chrome extension from Google Chrome Web Store, Download.

Add to Chrome and Click on ‘M’ icon and enter the file name, you want to download from Mediafire.

Lava Mobiles has been in the cell phone market scenario for sometime now in India, but until recently it did not have a lot of feature-rich phones. On the eve of Diwali, the company decided to gift the nation with a new smart phone that is priced at Rs. 9,999.

Competition in this segment is definitely very tough from companies like Samsung, Motorola and LG; it is just a matter of time before we can find out if the Lava Mobiles Android S12 is capable of brushing shoulders with its high-end competitors.

Let’s take a look at the specifications of the Android S12:

Android 2.2

800 MHz processor

5 MP camera

3.2 inch HVGA capacitative touch screen

1300 mAh battery

A couple of smart applications that would keep you busy (not too busy if you insist!)

Well, going by the specifications these are definitely not earth shattering, but considering something of this stature coming from an indigenous company in the under 10 grand bracket, we’d definitely say “kudos”..

The biggest technological leap for mankind is underway. In the recent years we have seen a lot of technological changes that have taken the world by storm. The new age Samsung televisions are capable of responding to your every gesture, the new age Intel and AMD processors seem to have all the power of the world inside them and the new tablet PCs are capable of shrinking the world in to a 7 inch screen. Well, we are yet to witness the biggest technological breakthrough!

The Memristor is here. Memristor is basically a microscopic element that is capable of remembering electrical state of a device even when the device is turned off. This is a revolutionary concept and is far more cheaper and faster compared to flash storage. The concept is not very new. The concept was first ideated in 1971 and recently that scientists from all over the globe have been researching the scope of this new element in research laboratories all over the globe. It is not completely ready to take the electronic world by storm and very soon you can expect personal Lava Mobiless, flash memory, RAM and also hard disks to become obsolete.

A single Memristor chip is equivalent to 32 core processors and is capable of taking care of a DVD in just 1 second. This is basically going to transform your personal Lava Mobiles into a massive beast and finally the dream of paperless offices is going to become a reality.

Do you want to know more about this new technology? Well, we can definitely keep writing but we need to know if you are interested. Let us know through your comments!

Well, really nothing unless of course you are granted one free wish by the Sultan of Brunei and you utilize that to get yourself a new smart phone! Jokes apart, there’s really now one solution that could help you find out your android phone in the event of loss or theft.

Plan B application from Lookout Mobile Security allows you to find your phone after you have lost it. This amazing application can be downloaded to your smart phone remotely and would help you find it quickly.

In case you missed the whole idea, here is what it simply means: you did not want to lose your android-based smart phone in the first place and hence never wondered what would happen if you lost it. This android application would actually allow you to find your phone back AFTER you have lost the phone without any pre-installations!

There are at least hundreds of different applications that would allow you to find your phone back, but all of them require you to install the software or application before you lose the phone. The Plan B android application is the first of its kind and allows you to locate your phone by installing the application from a remote location onto your phone.

Well, this is nothing less than a James Bond movie! The only prerequisite is your phone needs to be in working order, switched on and connected to the Internet via WiFi. You just need to install the application from a remote location onto your phone after losing it and it will immediately start sending updates about the location of the phone to your Gmail account.

The android-based smart phone market is already full to the brim and it’s now time probably for the tablet market to get saturated. The computer giant HCL has launched its ME X1 tablet in India in the 7 inch screen size segment. As on date there are a lot of tablet PCs available in the market from different manufacturers and have varying price tags. If you include the Akash tablet, the price range starts from 2000 bucks and upper limit is around 40,000 bucks.

The ME X1 tablet from HCL Infosystems has the following specifications:

1 GHz Cortex A8 processor,

512 RAM,

4 GB flash memory expandable up to 32 GB

7 inch display,

Capacitative touch screen,

Android 2.3 gingerbread OS,

Flash player support,

Full HD video playback support (1080p)

2 MP front camera for video chat

Do all these above features look refreshingly new to you? Of course not! Several companies including Reliance, Beetle and iBall have launched their own versions of tablet PCs in the Indian market does a couple of days back and all of them more or less have the same kind of specifications.

As far as the HCL ME X1 is concerned, we are not yet sure if the android platform can be upgraded. Some features that could have been included in the ME X1 are the rear facing camera, built-in 3G connectivity and GPS receiver. Of course you can connect the device to your television, but do you think that is enough to draw new users to this tablet PC?

We have already blogged about the Commercial version of the Akash Tablet which will be hitting the market by the end of November. If you missed that blogpost, you can read it here.

As far as buying an Aakash Tablet is concerned here it is how you will get it.

1) Commercial Version or the Ubislate.

This version of Akash will have more features than the one which will be subsidized by the government. This tablet will have a provision for inserting a SIM card and using it as a Phone (which is absent in Akash). The tablet should also have a Camera (I am not sure about it). Ubislate will be available in market by the end of November, 2011 at a price of mere Rs. 2999. Expect it to be available on major electronic and mobile shops and showrooms in India.

2) Government Subsidized Akash Tablet

The second version or the much hyped version of the tablet is under production and will be distributed in whole of the country under a certain program. As told by the Datawind representative, Government will first be putting 3000 tablets in every state at a price of Rs 2250. These tablets will be made available to students soon. Although we are still unsure about the schools and colleges the tablet will debut in. In total, there will be 1 Lak Akashs distributed in whole of India under this plan. After these tablets have been tested and reviewed by the students and if the field testing proves to be a success, production will start on a major scale (batches of millions). Thus, if you are looking forward to buy the subsidized version of the tablet, you will have to wait for next 6,7 months before you can buy one.

There has been a lot of buzz on the Internet about the much-heralded tablet PC from Samsung – the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750. The early reactions to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 were positive but now a lot of users have realized that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is a total mess and definitely not worth its salt. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is a sloppy 7 inch device that is a hopeless hybrid between a smart phone and tablet. On closer scrutiny you would find that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 strived to become a tablet PC but ended up becoming the big brother of a smart phone!

Here are the top three reasons why we wouldn’t suggest Samsung Galaxy Tab 750:

The internal memory of Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is very low – just 16 GB and the device does not allow you to expand its memory. That is definitely disappointing because if you are fiddling with a tablet PC you would definitely have a lot of stuff that you want to store!

The price of Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is definitely the biggest drawback. The product is way too expensive for what it actually is. By looking at the product you would definitely say that “simplicity” is something that is off the vocabulary of Samsung! You would actually have to grope around the edges and sides of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 to locate the start button. Once you have located it you would have to figure out a way to unlock the device. It’s definitely not as user-friendly as an iPAD or Moto’s Xoom. Why spend a fortune on a bag of disappointment when you can easily put your worries to sleep by buying an iPAD or Moto’s Xoom?

The camera on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is simply unimpressive. We would have been contented with a smart phone and tablet PC hybrid had the best features of both been included into one; but unfortunately that is not the case with Samsung Galaxy Tab 750. A 3 megapixel camera definitely does not fit the bill of Rs 36,000 that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 is priced at.

Having said above, its your choice whether to buy it or not.
