Power words capture your readers’ attention, motivate them into action, bring them to the buying table with money in hand, and make them anxious to click on your links and purchase your products.

So, what are power words? They are words that do something, activate your imagination, bring your product to life, and set people in motion. They elicit a strong emotional response from your readers. They are carefully selected words that encourage a reader to continue through your entire copy and compel them to take action rather than clicking away and leaving your page.

Power words should be used throughout your sales page beginning with the title and continuing throughout the entire document. Your title should use power words that create a positive impact and entice your visitor to read on. In the body of your sales copy, use power words liberally to encourage your visitor to read the rest of your copy.

Words like Fantastic, Powerful, and Secret are power words that will cause your readers to want to read on for more information. They cause your reader to assume that they are about to see something that is really great. This process takes place at the subconscious level and is extremely effective at converting lookers into buyers. Other power words are:

When we hear words like ‘Secret’ our minds immediately want to know the details. It is how our brains function. Everyone wants to be among that small circle of people who are privy to that secret information. Using the word secret in your sales copy engages your readers until the very end.

However, when selecting power words for your sales copy, be choosy and don’t overdo it. The over use of power words can be a turnoff and come across as being too good to be true.

The Code of Conduct is intended to protect affiliates against the redirection of their affiliate links, and the system seems to be working. But there is one aspect of the new standards that you might not know about.

If you redirect your affiliate links through META tags, .htaccess, or any other method, you will need to add a parameter to your links, so that the various adware applications will know not to pop up and take over your link.

All you will have to do is add &afsrc=1 to the end of your affiliate links from Be Free, CJ, or Performics.

According to the Code of Conduct, “This ‘afsrc’ parameter option is provided to address the case where affiliates modify or mask the links provided to them from the affiliate service providers and it becomes impossible to determine that they are affiliate links based on their appearance.”

For example, the a typical affiliate link might look like this:

http://www.mysite.com/redirect?offerid=12345

If we were going to redirect this link, we would add the parameter from the Code of Conduct, and the result would be:

http://www.mysite.com/redirect?offerid=12345&afsrc=1

There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and continue to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that are focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.

Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above do not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end up maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.
Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving!

Maximum Page Rank

There is no need to give away valuable Page Rank to affiliate programs. You signed up to make money, not to increase their search engine rankings.

Most Internet Marketers today add affiliate links to their sites in order to generate additional revenue which helps offset the cost of running the site.

It has now become necessary to cloak affiliate links because some web savvy surfers seem to have a sour taste in their mouth at the thought of some webmaster making money as a result of their purchase.

Cloaking

There is a number of ways to cloak affiliate links. The most popular include displaying affiliate pages in an encrypted frame and the very simple “mouse-over” technique. While displaying affiliate sales pages in a frame is a good way to cloak the link, it is not reliable because some, (not all) affiliate programs cannot track correctly if the affiliate URL is displayed in a frame.

The mouse-over technique will display a URL of your choice so that the affiliate URL is hidden. This is done by adding information to the status bar. This too in not reliable because the right mouse menu can reveal the real URL in an instant. This technique will also drain your valuable Page-Rank (PR) because the link points directly to the affiliate sales page.

Not cloaking your affiliate links will also drain your PR and reduce your click-through rates. So because it has become necessary to cloak affiliate links, I have decided that I may as well keep all the PR at the same time.

Another way

The redirection page is no secret but still many Internet Marketers do not set this up and yet it involves about the same amount of effort as cloaking the link into an encrypted frame.

There is a couple of places Online where you can create a redirect page instantly for free and you need not upload the page to your own site. This is an excellent way to cloak links within the body of emails but if you use this on your web pages, it will still drain your PR. It will pass the PR along to the redirection service.

http://www.compacturl.com and http://www.tinyurl.com are two sites that I know of that provide this free service.

How to create your OWN redirection page and keep all the PR!

1. Create a new HTML document.

2. Add the following line of code to the “head” of the document:

meta content=”0; url=http//www.youraffiliateURL?yourIDnumber” http-equiv=”refresh”

3. Replace “http//www.youraffiliateURL?yourIDnumber” with your affiliate URL.

4. Name the page to reflect the affiliate program and upload this page to your site and point that particular affiliate link to this page.

If you have joined a number of affiliate programs, you might like to create a new directory and add all these redirection pages to this new directory.

I have set this system up at my site and then one day discovered that some of these pages had a Page Rank of 3 or 4 with no outbound links. This is a waste. So now I have added a link back to my home page on these pages. This now serves to direct all my valuable PR to pages that I choose. I do this with all outbound affiliate links.

Benefits

1. The Affiliate Link is not displayed.
2. Keep all the PR.
3. Target different keywords with the outbound links.

There are only three rules you need to follow to make money online. They are: Market, Market, and Market some more. Q. So what made you get started with AdSense?

A. I was looking for a way to monetize some of my websites. AdSense is such an easy thing to get started with the eye for it would be a great way to start earning more money without actually putting into much more effort. I think as soon as you see the first earnings coming into your account you get addicted to AdSense. I know is what happened to me and since then I’ve just spent time working out how to earn more and more each day.

Q. How much do you make with AdSense?

A. Some days I can earn close to $1000 and others it’s less than that. But it all comes down to how much time and effort you devote to creating a quality site that people like visiting. AdSense is not what my business is based on by any means - but it is a great way to earn revenue almost on autopilot.

Q. What is the biggest mistake people making with AdSense?

A. Probably the biggest mistake people make is thinking the AdSense earnings are easy to achieve. It is very easy to get started but as I learned it takes a lot of effort to increase your earnings. I got really downhearted whenever I would log in to my account to see that I had only made a few dollars. And that’s when I decided to spend months and months of my time learning everything I could about AdSense.

I basically buried myself away and devoured every single piece of AdSense information I could find. I ran thousands of AdSense tests and started to see a dramatic effect on my click through ratio and therefore on my earnings.

This is why I’d decided to record the videos - because I knew that it would help people who were in my position to also increase their earnings. I’ve read an absolute ton of AdSense e-book’s but they take so long to go through and always seem to keep information back.

With AdSense Videos I knew that I had to tell the story exactly as it is and actually show people and lead them by the hand through the exact techniques that I use to generate large earnings from AdSense.

Q. In your videos you show people how to increase their AdSense earnings - can you give us a taster of this advice?

A. I don’t want to give away my biggest secrets as you can understand! But some of the more basic things that you can do to increase your revenues include using ads that blend in rather than stand out from your content. Flat out the worst thing you can do with an AdSense ad is make it look like the standard Google ad. What you need to realise is that you will get more clicks if your ad actually appears part of your site rather than something that’s just been dropped into the page.

Q. What would you recommend that someone do right now to increase their AdSense earnings?

A. I’ve created a totally free AdSense minicourse that people can go through to learn some of my techniques. It takes you through the four cornerstone principles that I’ve used to build up my AdSense empire.

 First you must become familiar with Adwords and how this advertizing program works. Adwords in essence are the advertisements that you see on the right side of the page when you search for something on Google. These advertisements are displayed based on the exact keywords that you searched for in the search bar.

Within Adwords you are able to set everything from your “Maximum Cost Per Click” to a “Maximum Daily Budget” for your ad campaign. Always remember to start small by setting a daily budget of $5.00 - $10.00 a day, you can always increase it later when you are confident with your ads.

Success with Adwords means a more than just selling products or gaining targeted traffic to your website. Google actually gives you a quality score which is mainly based on how well your ad campaigns perform. No one knows exactly how this quality score is calculated, but I can tell you that performance is the key factor. Having a higher quality score means Google will charge you lower “Cost Per Click” or “CPC” for your ads.

There is a particular way to set up your Adwords campaigns in order to achieve more success. Under “Campaign Settings” you want to have certain options checked and leave other options unchecked. To have a more successful campaign you want to check “Rotate” not “Optimize” next to the label “Ad serving”. By doing so your ads will be displayed more evenly rather than having only the better performing ads shown more often.

This will allow you to truly see how your ads are performing rather than only having the ads with higher “Click Through Ratios” or “CTR” perform well. You do not want to have biased ads and therefore biased data to use in evaluating your campaigns. Next, under the “Networks” heading you want to have only “Google Search” checked, not “Content Network”. You want your ads to be displayed solely through Google searches not any other content network searches or any of Google’s partner sites. This will ensure that the right customers reach your ads keeping your campaigns targeted. Untargeted traffic will result in a lower “Click Through Rate” or “CTR” which will lower your quality score.

Now that you know how to set the settings of your campaigns lets talk about keywords.

There are two great tools for researching your keywords:

These two websites will allow you to see how many people search for particular keywords in one day as well as how much advertizing competition there is for those precise keywords. Once you have selected your keywords for your campaign plug them into Adwords and estimate your ad position and search traffic based on your max cost per click.

Some keywords will not have enough data to provide estimations, however most will be able to generate data. Your ad does not need to be in the number one position, but it needs to be on the first page or approximately within the top eleven positions. The reason for this is that over 90% of Adwords sales occur on the first page or within the top ad positions. This makes perfect sense because consumers are typically not going to buy from an ad on the second, third, or fourth page because their attention or eyes will never travel that far.

Once you have your keywords and campaign successfully up and running go through your keywords at least once a week and delete any keywords that are not performing well. For example if one particular keyword has 0 clicks per 90-100 impressions it is probably a good idea to delete that keyword because it is ineffective and will yield a bad click through rate.

By monitoring your keywords routinely, you will have greater success with your Adwords campaigns and a higher click through percentage which will end up costing you less per click. Always remember to start with a small budget, use strong ad copy that grabs your attention and delete poor performing keywords.

Article marketing cannot reach your targeted audience and market with a lousy title. What happens online reflects what is happening offline. When you go to the bookstore to buy a book, you would look first at the title. People simply have the tendency to make a judgment on the entire book from just the title. The title is powerful enough to convince them to buy the book or to brush it away.

Through article marketing, people find your article either at the article directories or through search engines. Authors and internet marketers naturally prefer visitors to come from the search engines. The visitors are targeted and have a higher tendency to become our customers. After all, they have searched specifically for certain keywords and your article shows up in the search results. But it does not stop there. Your article title must be attractive and relevant enough to entice them to click through and read.

As you can see, you have two objectives to achieve in article marketing. One is to make your article rank high in search engine prominence, and another to make it relevant and enticing for your potential customers.

How should you tackle this?

Search engines look for relevancy and correlation of article content with title. Your article content should be keyword-rich, and it is a must that your article contains at least the main keyword, if not a main and a secondary keyword. Another trick to rank higher in the search engine is to place your main keyword at the start of the title. Positioning makes a difference. Article marketing and search engine optimization are intertwined. Treat your article just like you would optimize your web page.

In order to get a top search engine ranking and maximize your organic traffic, your selection of keywords is crucial. Perform keyword research using free keyword research tools like Overture Keyword Tool and trial version of WordTracker. Compile a list of 3 to 5 relevant keywords that have at least 500 searches per month. Do a search in Google for each keyword in quotes, for example “Article Marketing Tips”. If the results are lower than 2000, you should be able to rank well. Keyword research is vital to article marketing.

Keep your article title short.  4 – 6 words are ideal. Avoid unnecessary filler words that can confuse the search engines. Use shorter phrases that deliver the same meaning.

By targeting specific keywords in your article title, you have enhanced the effect of your article marketing. When your article shows up in the search results, your visitors will see the keywords they searched for. This is relevance at play.

There are tips to entice them to click. Think from a problem – solution approach. Are they looking for an answer to a problem? Are they searching for reviews? Are they trying to learn something new? Words like ‘How To’, ‘Guide’, ‘Review’ and more are powerful words for article titles. Use them wisely in your article marketing efforts.
