LIFE IS A LESSON

As I said before, we learn through making mistakes and believe me I’ve made lots, every medium has a story to tell and it will be a life of ups and downs but none of us would change any of it. When we go through hard times it doesn’t feel like this but when you look back on your life you will see your life like a jigsaw, how one part had to happen to create another aspect, how each part came together like pieces of a jigsaw. You will realize just how much you have learned about life and you will come to accept these challenges we all face and it does in a way bring contentment.

I can’t speak for all mediums but I can share my experiences and from this you will start to understand what life is about.

What we all have in common as well as some tough times is a sensitivity; people will say you are too sensitive as it’s a bad thing to be, but to be a medium it’s a wonderful thing to be. Being sensitive enables us to tune into spirit and to how people are feeling

we pick up atmospheres, know when something is not right and can understand how others feel. Chances are you’ve been like this from birth, your parents may have labeled you as being highly strung and or you may have cried a lot as a baby. This will have driven your parents to distraction at the time, we are often clingy children and pick up the moods of how our parents and siblings feel and if they feel unhappy and or stressed we will too. Trouble is at such a young age babies are not able to convey how they feel, and just know they are sad and unable to differentiate between what are their feelings and those of others.

Babies are naturally sensitive after all they have just recently been incarnated from spirit so they haven’t quite lost that memory of the spirit realms. It’s not uncommon to find babies staring at something you cannot see, as they haven’t yet completed the full transition to life on earth.

However this does not mean every baby has the ability to become a medium for through day-to-day living gradually memories of the other side are lost. Parents will tell you it’s your imagination and the majority will forget. Those who are destined to become mediums they will not, that sensitivity will never leave us and it’s this sensitivity that can make us appear odd, like we feel different and more often than not our peer groups will notice. Children can be very cruel and it’s not unusual for the sensitive child to become the victim of bullies precisely because we are different.

The sensitive child has a very active imagination, this is no bad thing it leads to creativity and deep thinking and it’s this thoughtfulness that leads to world changes and development. If you have a sensitive child support and be proud of them for they will make a difference to others’ lives in the world as they grow up.

Our souls are at different development levels with some being older souls than others and the older the soul the more spiritual you will be. This is because older souls have experienced more incarnations (lifetimes) so have much more experience of different challenges in these lifetimes, they have learned a lot, been to earth’s classroom a lot more so are more spiritually educated.

This collection is mostly love poems interspersed with some with an uplifting and spiritual theme.

By and large this collection is about strength and even though something may look fragile it’s not necessarily so. I have used ‘The Rose’ as an analogy to define its hidden strength, it is beautiful and the flower delicate but at the same time it has thorns and deep roots and more resilient than it looks.

As people we are much stronger than we think, in times of adversity we all have a hidden strength we can utilize we just need to believe it. Like most of my work there is a spiritual theme than runs through this collection and the message is “We are stronger than we think”. We only have to ask spirit to help us tap into it not only that for each challenge we face in life there is a lesson, we may not realize it at the time but there will come a time when we will know why we had that experience and what it has taught us. You will be aware of the common saying, “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”, its true and no experience in life is ever wasted.

ASK THE UNIVERSE

Is there any purpose in which to worry?

With our stressful lives and always in a hurry

Where we feel as if on a treadmill we run

Always working and never no fun

And if we ask ourselves are we happy? and the answer’s no

What do we do? for answers where do we go?

But if we stop for just two minutes and ourselves we ask

We’ll always get the answers for every challenging task

For within us always the solution is there

There’s no need to go any where

If we listen to the quiet stillness in our mind

We’d be given the answer every time

So what does worry ever achieve?

Does it help or stress relieve?

No it doesn’t for all it will do

Is make us ill and compound the stress too

Firstly take a moment to ask

What can we do to solve this task

First listen, I can’t stress this enough

Even if the solution seems at first tough

By accepting we have a problem is that first tiny step

To sorting out our troubles and getting help

The Universe is gracious and works in ways we don’t always understand

Trust me, believe me you will always receive that helping hand

Ask for it’s help and it will always oblige

And dry those tears that fall from your eyes

What do you when all trust is gone?

Do you try and hope and carry on?

Or reminisce and dwell on the past

If trust has gone you have to ask

Should I keep my fingers crossed?

And carry on with cracks over glossed

A relationship amounts to two

Your observations and the other’s points of view

And like everything in the Universe

There’s give and take and sides diverse

Like Yin and Yang come together in harmony

There requires a balance in this diversity

Each needs to respect the other’s side

There can’t be secrets there to hide

No one is perfect that’s not the issue

It’s conversing, and supporting each other through

The good and the bad, the tough and the easy

And honouring promises made then so truly

If trust has gone and then you are left with nothing

There is no point to carry on forever battling

It’s time to move on to experiences new

This really infuriates me and I have people plagiarising me, but what really annoys me are people who blatantly use images and publish them as their own and don’t give the photographer the credit for their work or use a piece of music without giving the musician credit and gaining their permission to do so. If I use a photograph for the cover of a book I go to a stock image company and pay the royalties or fees for its use or gain the services of a designer who again I credit and pay the royalties/fees due.

I personally have had parts of my work copied where people have passed as their own. Most authors don’t make a great deal of money, royalties made on books are very small, non the less authors have to make a living and its infuriating when even what little we make is denied to us. People assume it’s easy to write and publish a book, it’s not, it takes months even years of hard work and editing and re-editing and its even more difficult to find a publisher and then someone comes along and takes the credit for it.

What is Plagiarism?

The practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own:

So its not just words but ideas and its not limited there, it also includes photographs, images and music, it’s actually a crime as it’s committing fraud.

Don’t assume because something is all over the internet it’s available for use for everything created is copyright and permission from the owner needs to be saught before you can use it.

“Using an image, video or piece of music in a work you have produced without receiving proper permission or providing appropriate citation is plagiarism. The following activities are very common in today’s society. Despite their popularity, they still count as plagiarism.”

Each and every one of us share these two sides

Unbeknown to most of us, this otherside hides

And when life is cruel and when our frailty really shows

We forget our hidden depths but its there and will surely grow

Like the thorns protect the delicate beauty and the frailty of the rose

We have a strength within us believe it, and it will surely grow

It’s always been there and it always will

Giving us the courage to keep on climbing uphill

And the more we believe it the stronger it will become

For no challenge will ever defeat us, each battle will be won
