I must confess also that although what I am presenting here is a method that makes logical sense within the astrological paradigm of Jyotish (Vedic Astrology), as I currently understand it, it is more or less an experimental idea, so please take it as such. The Saturnine nature of comfrey is readily reflected by its preference for shady places that are cool and damp. The leaves of the plant are rough from numerous stiff hairs while the veins of the leaf have a blackish tinge that produces a characteristic shadowy complexion to the foliage. Though the plant can endure sunny locations the sheer intensity of its growth in a few seasons soon produces a dense thicket. The concentration of foliage rapidly creates a sombre darkness in which few other plants flourish. One of the ancient folk names of the plant was blackewoort. But in the OJ Simpson story we have a very good example, one which shows how cosmic events manifest as a clock on one’s life, timing events and outcomes. Best known in America as a star college football player, OJ Simpson (born July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, CA at 8:08am PST) came to worldwide notice when accused of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman in 1996. Interestingly, this trial began on January 25, 1995, just as Pluto rolled into Sagittarius. Acquitted of all charges in the criminal trial, OJ would later be convicted in civil court on the same matter. But it is much more than that. Each discipline - astrology and psychology - is radically transformed and empowered by its marriage to the other. Indeed, there are so many correlations and possibilities for cross-fertilization that one could easily spend an entire lifetime exploring the connection.
