Several hundred Magellanic Penguins have decided to holiday in Rio this week. The Penguins took the wrong turn and ended 2000 miles away from where they thought they were going. Apparently the changing water temperatures and currents have placed these hard swimming birds at the mercy of the air force to get back home. In what seems to be yet another Topsy turvy indication of Saturn Uranus phenomenon, we can all ask ourselves “Do we know where we are really headed”?

Apparently this particular Penguin diversion is not the first one. According to a quick search there was a similar exodus to Rio in 2001. At that time scientists were saying that global warming was the cause of the re routing for the penguins. The changing environment and weather patterns is indicative of Saturn Uranus.

The symbology of Saturn Uranus opposition is certainly showing its reflection in the stock market and financial crises around the world. As we head to the first Saturn Uranus “hit” in early November, I wonder whether we really do know which financial and Political waters we are swimming in?

So the Penguins rescue bid is implemented and they get a free ride to where they are meant to be. They will flap around in bewilderment and experience penguin kind of stressors in their community. At least the Penguins are lovable little critters which is more than I can say about the “suits” on wall street.

Perhaps stockbrokers could also say that warmer financial currents led them astray and all they wish for is to return to their routine trading comforts.

Perhaps the experience of not knowing where one will end up with the Saturn Uranus journey is one of great excitement? When one does arrive at that “place”, I presume there will be an element of surprise. In my mind I kind of think the recent financial rescue package implemented during Mercury retrograde could have been saved to a later point in time, when things get really weird. My feeling is that they have played their trump card too soon.

Revisiting some Lilith themes, I thought of the blog title Conversations With Lilith. It would be kind of interesting to dial up Lilith and have an interview of sorts. Well I dropped my Blog title idea when finding a very good blog with the same name. This Conversations with Lilith blog is worth checking out.

Conversations between self and Black Moon Lilith are perhaps extremely difficult things to achieve.  Black Moon Lilith separates herself from the potential psychic energy in the system and resides in sub conscious realms. It may be like communicating across parallel worlds with limited connectivity.

Astrological Lilith is an indicator of a particular process in personality which is only prominent when it is closely associated to an angle or planet. Lilith is a kind of “sub personality” issue and is very difficult to recognise in self. Others may “see it” emerge however even then, Lilith is hard to recognise as a function of personality.  In some respects LIlith is is similar to Pluto’s unconscious projections of blaming, controlling and manipulation. These are observable behaviours which can be more tangible than Black Moon Lilith.

It is however, possible for a  competent self-reflective person to identify Lilith phenomenologically.

There can be a style of thinking that is aimed to squash Lilith down, to restrict her while being socially interactive because the last thing we want is to have Lilith emerge and stuff up relationships or be misunderstood by her incongruous nature. Lilith in some cases can find clever ways to emerge anyway and becomes visible briefly.

The passive aggressive personality may offer some support to my theory here. If you have ever been involved with a passive aggressive person then you will know that they can be ever so sweet and reasonable in their communication with you however they will tend to leave something ’smelly’ in their communication.

One can walk away from the conversation feeling a twinge between their shoulder blades. The next day of course one realises that there is a knife lodged in their back. In some cases the passive aggressive wears others down so the person feels angry and frustrated with out knowing why.

A Well Known Passive Aggressive Duck

Some Lilith positions and chart functions do not allow for much self reflection or perhaps there are other blocks and denials that eventuate with increased lilith manifestations.

Here are some fictitious examples of what I believe Black Moon Lilith to “look” like.

A young man out for dinner in the city one night returns later to find his car stolen. In the shock of the moment he calls his Mother to explain his loss. The Mother could reply with similar shock or perhaps a nurturing comment however she says “why does this always happen to you”? Lilith emerges in the place of a more normal response by the mother and leaves the young man confused and rejected.

A man with a naturally rasping and angry tone to his voice looks lovingly at his girlfriend and says “do you think I can really change who I am”? His face grows an enormous smile as Lilith resonates with the statement and her own reality. Lilith loves to be stuck in the psyche somewhere and the “gallows smile” is her protruding.

A man goes to coffee with a female friend who is married; they both know where they stand platonically. The woman goes out of her way to dress provocative-slutty which is far from her usual style. The woman bends over in front of the man showing portions of her curvy behind in very obvious ways. The rest of the conversation tends to be about her. The man wants to tells her she is beautiful but she will not respond anyway. The game of Rapo is indeed Lilith emerging, tempting and sexualising her intelligence while creating havoc.

Man has left his partner of a few years and wishes to return to the house to pick up his furniture. The ex partner has already got a new boyfriend and she has restricted the man from gaining access to his furniture. With friends in tow the man finally shifts his furniture but not before the ex partner approaches him alone with her intense eyes and erect nipples. She wants to have sex with the man, she is turned on that the man had the courage to get his goods and chattels. Later the man realises that the ex hid an expensive item from him which was missed. Perhaps this is a  wild-fire kind of Lilith where she held on to a piece of the man. Typical in borderline type of women.

A Man was talking to his elderly Mother about getting old. The Mother is perhaps secretly angry at the lack of attention by her son. The mother says to the son, out of the blue “there wont be much money left, I am spending your inheritance here and there.” The son identifies Lilith and hugs his mother saying “I hope you spend it nicely mum”. The mother almost backs away , the man leaves and she is left with herself once again.

A person comes to an important meeting and sits in front of another person with crotch directed at the other person. The tight jeans seemingly pushed forward in the chair trying to take the focus off that person and onto the crotch area. The person realises that the crotch pushing person needs some control in the meeting. I f I was to talk to Lilith herself It would mean talking to the crotch.

Person writes an interesting blog describing certain human social traits however the writer knows a specific person who reads the blog will secretly identify the blog is about them. The facts contained in the blog are perhaps well known about the other person and the writer makes an attempt to confront or help the person who is reading it. Meanwhile no other person has a clue to what is going on and the person reading has little or no way of responding directly.

Man is having trouble with power ratio in his relationship. The woman says “if you put $100, 000 on the table now, we can continue with the relationship”. Man says “if I do that today, I am sure you will come up with another problem that need to fix”. Perhaps you will say that I must lose the hair on my chest to continue the relationship? Man gets too cheeky with woman’s Lilith and the spiralling downwards continues.

Black Moon Lilith has numerous ways of revealing ‘herself’ and perhaps the sexualized ones are more obvious. The sexual impulse by itself is an interesting parallel in that sexual feelings have a way of emerging all on their own and tend compel the person to act incongruously, hopefully for good reason.  Passive Aggressive behaviours are also typical of Black Moon Lilith because there is a way to wreak some kind of havoc towards another person while gaining a sense of power and control in the process. The aim in the process is to remain socially acceptable, to keep some form of status quo while Lilith has some expression. That is the conundrum in identifying Lilith when she is active.

The influence of psychology in natal Astrology is seen by most as a helpful process. Astrologers can delineate specific aspects of personality in natal charts and then align them psychological descriptions to better understand client charts. In other words a Planet’s symbolic and archetypal meaning will relate to different psychological understandings in personality.

For example, in modern astrology Neptune represents receptivity, impressionability, compassionate sensitivity, fanciful notions, misrepresentation, mysticism, clairvoyance and a dreamy unrealistic nature.

Psychology might allocate Neptune in Dissociation, Schizoid personality, confusion, idealisation, hypersensitivity, depression or derealization.

Neptune is also attributed to alcoholism, drug taking and psychiatry in Astrology, however these descriptions tend to relate to Neptunian experiences or behaviours rather than to intrapsychic personality structure. The difference between Structure and Function in Astrology is less easily defined and often creates ambiguity in Astrology readings.

Structure in mechanical engineering is the nature of the engines workings, how the pieces fit together and move against each other. Function is how the engine translates it power output and the different uses it can or cant potentially perform.

1949 Mercury

In psychoanalytical fields of psychology the main focus is on the subconscious make up of a person. The introjections and projections, the dreams and phantasy’s developed within the psyche. Usually with psychoanalytical psychology the parts of personality will be analyzed, visualised and left to naturally emerge in the client’s mind as useful thought processes. Object Relations is slightly different and places more emphasis on the unconscious parts of the therapeutic relationship emerging for effective therapy.

In Social psychiatry and Cognitive Behavioural psychology the focus is on how a person may think, communicate and behave in relation to others. While structural elements remain important in diagnosis and treatment, it is the Function of personality that is literally seen through body language or seen and heard through interactions with others.

I once attempted to align Astrology with Transactional Analysis however there is no one definitive planet that describes Parent-Adult-Child Ego structure. Even the functional diagrams including Critical Parent, Free child, Adaptive and Rebellious Child descriptions could  potentially involve many combinations of planets.  One would agree though, that Saturn fits the Critical Parent.

Structure points to an internal process of personality where the parts are are working differently to each other.  That may be ok however some parts of personality may be split off, repressed or engaging adversely with each other. Structural pathology describes how the personality is working or not working so well and can be the basis to diagnoses formulation.

Function may reveal the nature of the internal process by the way a person carries out their social interactions and relationships.  The way one might adapt and conform to others,  be authoritative to others in communication and relating methods. By conforming we create defenses or reinforce the (neurotic) structural elements of personality for survival purposes.  Body language can also reflect the nature of personality and its incongruousness. These are all Functions of personality.

The complexity of Astrology involving all its aspects, signs and houses in interpretation can effectively describe how planets or personality “functions”. These descriptions can lead to insightful realisations about ones inner life. The astrology reading can simulate the psychoanalytical effect by assisting the emergence of subconscious thoughts during the reading; and in another way the reading can offer cognitive techniques for self awareness and insights for making changes in life.

Here is a look at some Planetary Function and Structure

Sun and Moon our internal parental ‘objects’ the introjected parts of our parents personality onto our own personality framework.  Our ego desire and vulnerability - respectively.

Function;  The way we express nurturing qualities or compensate to get our needs fulfilled. The outward projection of identity to be seen as someone - externalising our notion of self object that others can also identify an intrinsic theme of identity. Here and now phenomenological thoughts and feelings.

Mercury is the shinbone connected to the knee bone connected to the mind bone. Neurological pathways in biological structure and the internal thought process that creates disseminating chatter between parts of personality. The modem default to self belief and the conduit to self process and filing of external experience. That means Mercury can make it to all parts of the brain including the reptilian brain.

Function:   Mercury is the trickster the ‘yes man’ and lier, the scientific mind with all the facts and little nurturing. Mercury is both femine and masculine and she can gossip like he can be superfluous with words. Mercury is the way we drive to work or chat on the Internet. Mercury writes in the fashion that our brain structure allows, he is the dispatch clerk of our thoughts and cognitive combobulator. Mercury is heavily influenced by the other planets to reveal or hide certain parts of personality.

Venus represents the generic anima in personality. Estrogen! Venus is our attachment value and represents our sibling and other early relations in the scheme of our “self love object” within. A sense of beauty and love resonates with self depending on Venus’ position in the chart.

Function; is the maintaining of our attachments in our social environment. That may mean paying more, pleasing more, being perfect, or loving more. In some manner Venus will find a way to perform in order to secure relationships to others. That can also be through art and fashion by expressing self image for attraction purpose. Venus is the loving partner and the projection of ourselves in that role.

Mars is Animus and the instinctive animal urge to protect oneself from too much fear. Testosterone! Mars may represent Freud’s pychosexual developmental theories an the innate biological (genetically) button pusher. Mars is also the device in personality structure that regulates when we should ‘do’ things.

Function;  To conform by ‘doing’ the opposite (rebellion), to aggressively defend or attack, emotional reactivity. To compete with others and conquer the fear of dissolution. To assertively express some aspect of self, to withdraw and the act of something involving self interest . Mars has many functions in personality because of his vibrant and intensive nature. In many cases there are underlying aspects of personality that may be covered over by Mars such as fear or sadness.

Jupiter is naturally the benevolent object in personality keeping one buoyant in some way. Structurally, Jupiter is our introjected belief or ones own developed perspective. Jupiter gets involved at some stage with Mercury’s train of thought for adjustments to a bigger picture kind of processing. Jupiter is perhaps the product of early decisions of self versus experience and thus a perceived belief (true or not) which benefits our paradigm and existence.

Function;   Jupiter trusts believes, hopes and maintains expectations. He over estimates and his exaggerations can mean embarrassment when combined with other planets. Jupiter likes to over do and preach about beliefs or other kinds of knowledge. Righteousness is perhaps knowing one is always right and looking for that recognition for ones knowledge. This Teacher function of personality is really the parent in the person giving a lesson to the child and now the person doing the same to maintain that structure.

Saturn is the introjected Father and the object that means authority and discipline. Saturn is the boundary for anything beyond reality in the psyche. It is the generational or traditional scripting in personality. Saturn is about ones values and position in relation to the father. Depression and guilt manifest in structural pathology according to Saturn’s emphasis. Saturn is fear itself however can be appeased if the system acquiesces to his control.

Born To Work

Function    Saturn is the kind of work hard ethic which generates from fear, low esteem or lack of financial security. ” I am only ok if I work hard”.  Saturn is bossy and prejudiced in contrast to an otherwise lack of identity. The internal and external critic still demands dignity and respect. Saturn extends his bleakness by restricting other planets (parts of personality) which is not entirely a bad thing. Saturn is patient persistent and stands firm in tough times

The many different modalities of psychology utilize the differentiations between structure and function in personality. There is a way to also differentiate the same for Astrology and perhaps understand the applications for this kind of delineation in Astrology.

Pluto is well known for representing power and control in the Astrology chart. I once read a description about Pluto’s power saying “you don’t know how much power is available until its used”. The use of Power is often considered in negative terms such as controlling and manipulating our relationships. If a person wishes to get what they want, they manipulate the bond in the relationship so the other person changes to suit them. What if one person is not willing to allow that kind of power and control in the relationship? Remember the old Mexican Standoff.

Going head to head in such a manner will mean that Pluto’s power eventually needs to go one way or the other. One could imagine an accumulation of stress after a few hours in the above situation. Power battles and other psychological games in relationships tend to reinforce pathology for individuals and often the outcome is “no win-no win”.  Things can get bogged down indeed. The Mexican or Pluto Standoff is when we get stuck and no one is prepared to backdown.

How Do I get out of this Pluto Impasse?

One chap the other day decided to take a stand against his powerful and controlling parent by bringing his stand-off into my counselling room. The man held a knife to his body and said he was not going to go home. He had reached a limit in his psychological impasse. He chose to use me, a third party who he did not have power issues with and play it out with dire circumstances. Holding the knife into his body was a very powerful Pluto moment especially when the Psychiatric Emergency Team was called. The person was able to act out his Pluto Standoff in my room but with the authorities instead. In my mind he really enjoyed being powerful in that situation. He did get an hour of power indeed.

The Event Chart for our meeting shows Pluto at the Mid Heaven with mutable angles in the same degree.

Perhaps this is a good chart for a Mexican stand-off, if that is the sort of thing you are after. There is a great deal of excitement and scare in these events. This kind of standoff generates “heat” like an atomic reactor however unfortunately this one eventuated into a meltdown.  I would say it is traumatic to see a person be electrocuted by tasar pistol and carried out by several powerful policemen. I guess it is one way to have a Plutonic Standoff.

Some of us like getting bogged down

Power battles and stand offs are not all acted out so obviously. The most difficult kinds of power stand off can involve surreptitious or non direct communications which place pressures on the relational bond. This type of Pluto-Standoff is like a virtual battle involving manoeuvre’s to either control or not be controlled.

Friendships and relationships can go on for years like this. But what for? That is pathological Pluto for you! He relentlessly copes in the best way he knows. Setting up defenses for survival and to protect what fundamentally points to an otherwise, despairing kind of helplessness. Sometimes things do get out of control.

One can either stand their ground within the ‘pluto standoff’ or alternatively walk away from such an involvement. Fuck it I say.

The Saturn Uranus cycle has been described by some to involve changes in the weather. Saturn and Uranus take 45 years to complete their synodic period and have been known to bring changes to the environmental weather, political weather and  economical weather .  Saturn Uranus aspects tend to represent progressive  social adjustments where Uranus is the “Re-newer” and Saturn is the “Tradition”. The Saturn Uranus opposition is part of the forty five year synodic period  between these two planets. In November this year the first of a series of oppositions takes place so lets explore some previous times.

Saturn Uranus and Civil Rights

The Saturn Uranus opposition in the 1960’s was not able to achieve the degree of social change without the help of Pluto. In the sixties Saturn opposed Uranus Pluto. Nicholas Devore states that “the significance of the Saturn Uranus cycle for the political  economy appears clear, especially at and near their cyclic oppositions.” He states many examples in his book of political change and unrest around these Saturn Uranus oppositions.

On 1st April 1965 during the Saturn Uranus opposition Martin Luther King completed four days of civil rights protests.

A few days earlier Viola Liuzzo was buried after she was shot dead by four clansmen as she drove marchers back to Selma.

Near the August 28 1965, the Gemini 5 was launched and Bob Dylan releases his Highway 61 Revisited and there was an avalanche in Switzerland that killed ninety workers at a dam construction.

The Planets are lining up this week to show us something auspicious. The Sun is trine Jupiter which heralds the buoyant end to Jupiter’s retrograde period; while at the same time,  Sun Saturn are are conjunct and being quite firm on some matter. Perhaps there is a qualification to the Sun Saturn aspect warning us of corpulence amongst other things.

Happy and Corpulent

Jupiter and Saturn are somewhat auspicious in nature by their great conjunction cycle together. These planets set up global economic and health cycles in twenty year periods.  In my mind these two are rather odd bed partners. Jupiter wants to expand, to be happy and go forth into the world, while Saturn wants to be serious, consolidate and cautious. Jupiter and Saturn have the ability in some charts to facilitate good buying and selling timing.  In other charts combinations of these two planets can represent the ebb and flow of psychological highs and lows. Perhaps the “bi polar” nature of their affect on each other must be considered cautiously and qualified within diagnoses continuum.

Ultimately in transiting phases of daily astrology,  Sun and Saturn together is authoritative, governmental and perhaps the firm parent in its best representation of parenthood. These two planets are in a good aspect to Jupiter on the 4th September. This is an auspicious date of sorts being my ex wife’s birthday and a visit to my specialist at the hospital.

In the very good book “Combinations of Stellar Influences” by Reinhold Ebertin the various combinations of Sun Saturn = Jupiter and Jupiter Saturn = Sun one can formulate at least some basis for the auspicious aspect of Sun Saturn trine Jupiter next week.

• propensity to corpulence
• the bachelor
• the phlegmatic temperament
• Good fortune of old or sick person

Happy Birthday to me

In my mind, next week will be a perfect time to start a diet or health regime that will ultimately work in the long run. It is a time to enjoy the benefits of living alone and budgeting to allow for excess or waste. Perhaps next week is about recycling too? I must admit that one of my favourite tv shows has just about outdone its repeat season recently.

Two and a half very happy bachelors

The rewards for consistent parenting styles especially where teenagers are concerned are perhaps almost tangible next week. Parenting styles requiring setting of boundaries is symbolic in the Sun Saturn aspect. There are a couple of possibilities with Sun and Saturn here; including Firm Parenting and Critical Parenting styles.

The Sun-Saturn is typical of governmental leadership and expressing a great sense of responsibility.  The benefit I am talking about with Jupiter’s involvement means that the good parenting work is finally sinking in. Otherwise you may find that push and pull of critical and rescuing styles of parenting will result in behaviours worthy of Jupiter. Remember Jupiter is going forward in motion very soon so in my mind staying firm on some matter with a degree of flexibility will produce benefits for parents.

The Sun Saturn trine Jupiter next week will be a helpful influence when being responsible is a requirement. Perhaps you will have a happy ending of sorts or start a good diet. There will be a small benefit or prospect of hope in some area of life next week. Thank goodness for any small mercies coming my way.

Learning how to be an Astrologer is an individual journey that requires integrating the technical knowledge into ones own experience of life. My personal journey in becoming an Astrologer has led to many extraordinary transformational experiences. Perhaps my ninth house Aquarius Moon reflects a freedom to explore my inner self in unique ways.

In the early days I would sometimes not go to work because it was more important to read about astrology aspects and signs. Of course looking up my own chart aspects involved reflecting on personality traits. I knew enough about myself to prove the astrology correct to my experiences. I found possibilities and potentials that I didn’t know about myself that needed plenty of time to digest.

I annoyed my friends by discussing way out concepts that sounded straight forward to me. Some of them allowed me to learn by using their charts. My mother could remember important dates and events in my life that enabled a kind of historical perspective of my early development via astrological events.

Much of my time in between working was spent learning the technical process by practicing astrology on myself. I was learning about the many “parts” of myself and fitting them together piece by piece. Like a sculptor working on his clay figure I often needed to step back and reflect on that shape and form.

I was lucky with my obsession to learn astrology when receiving monthly work insurance monies for a repetitive injury. I had no other responsibilities and somehow, months of low stress and available time accelerated my technical learning. I got as far as I could before realising that formal training and interaction with others was the next step.

I benefited greatly from attended Cindy Naunton’s astrology classes. Cindy conducted one of the main teaching schools in my town. I joined the Federation of Australian Astrologers in Western Australia and attended monthly meetings to discuss astrology.

The study groups with my fellow students prior to exams was extremely beneficial as I am not the best with exams. I have some great memories of being involved with some very good people indeed. I became involved with counselling and psychotherapy training at the same time. My personal growth potential expanded exponentially. It was not an easy experience to begin with as my progress to this date was very much an intellectual one.

Feelings are scary sometimes

I had already travelled far in my very personal journey.  Embracing the Mars in my chart enabled studying two things at the same time. Mars in Gemini in the first house seemed to propel me forward and help to focus on the priorities of my psychological healing.

I was nominated to committee member for the FAAWA and attended the national conference in Melbourne as a National Delegate along with Cindy Naunton. Meeting with international astrologers including Rob Hand, Ray Merriman, Lee Lehman, Maurice McGann and others. Meeting with Deborah Holding in Perth was inspirational. I developed my understanding of Horary Astrology and traditional aspects of the practice.

My very good internet pal Claire France Perez enlisted my services as a co moderator for her very popular astrology forum “All_Astrology”.  Certification as practicing astrologer by the FAA exam process was a relief and very difficult time for me. Pluto was transiting my Saturn in the seventh house at the time and it seemed that my world was being torn a part. It was time to consolidate and make choices within the fates that were available to me then.

Although I continued my Astrology passions (to this day), perhaps my professional path diverted somewhat by setting up a counselling practice working with children and teenagers. I became a psychotherapist and sadly distanced myself from the beginnings of my personal journey into learning astrology. Being an Astrologer did help my practice. Not that I ever use astrology for my clients however the rich visuals contained in astrology-mythology seemed to present helpful dimensions in developing empathic connections to my clients.

Eight years of private practice and constant personal supervision and therapy has enabled me to investigate astrology in different ways. Thanks to my own therapist, I have been able to explore Black Moon Lilith , Vesta and other levels to my own chart. I am still living out a learning journey - care of the Aquarius Moon-need perhaps? I am happy with that process and the experiential elements involved. I am happy with who I am these days and my friends tell me that I should be practicing more so as an Astrologer. For now, perhaps I will return to some roots by visiting some old associates and pals at the next Astro Chat evening. They also have an open day coming soon.

The FAAWA holds regular casual and relaxed Astro Chat evenings and this format has proved to be very popular since 2004 and continues in 2007.

May there be many good Sun rises and Moon Cycles for every one. Sometimes it would seem that the Ecliptic is a well worn and familiar path to travel. That is life for the planets. Perhaps the Sun will never rise in the North and the Moon will only show one side. One can only watch in awe and spend a lifetime within natures cyclic law.

Anti Social personality types are defined by behaviours where breaking the rules is apparent. Whether these type of behaviours are classified by criminal acts (law breaking) or by clever con man tactics there are planets in the horoscope which can help outline Anti Social tendencies. The anti social personality type has a great capacity to be successful in society however there seems to be a fine line in becoming notorious for harming others in society.

Dog (Duane) Chapman, once Sergeant at Arms of a bikie Club and prison Inmate, now Bounty Hunter and Rehabilitation role model

The Bounty Hunter as seen on tv is perhaps an example of a true anti social personality type using his ingenuity and creative abilities to achieve great success for himself. Dog Chapman has somehow been able to flip from his law breaking status to working alongside the law. His newest career is perhaps the closest he might get to being an actual law enforcement officer. Dog was born 2nd February 1953 in Denver Colorado. His Aquarian Sun is conjunct Mercury and the Node and square Jupiter. Sun Square Jupiter is renown for excessive behaviours and egotistical pursuits.

A private conversation between ‘Dog’ Chapman and his son was captured and obtained exclusively by the ‘National Enquirer’. This tape has exposed ‘Dog’ Chapman using the “N” word and admitting to using the word in his job. Was his use of the word in this conversation grounds for removing his show? For now the show has been suspended.

Of course it is not unusual for anti social types such as bikie gang members to be involved within the security industry. Actors have also become renown for drug use and breaking the rules.

Stacy Keech arrested for cocaine

Stacy Keech played the detective in the popular tv series Mike Hammer. Keech was arrested in 1984 along with his secretary for cocaine importation. Stacy Keech has Jupiter-Uranus-Saturn conjunction. In my view Saturn and Uranus aspects can be an indicator of the anti social personality type however there are other planetary considerations too. Keech’ birth time is 2nd June 1941 7:15 pm Savannah, Georgia.

Christine Keeler spent time in jail for perjury

Christine Keeler is well known for her role in the extraordinary Profumo Affair. Her chart supports the Saturn Uranus combination along with Moon Mars in the mix. The fixed star of Algol which tends to add a degree of sexual intensity is conjunct her moon. 22 Feb 1942 London 11:15 am

Bill Clinton is renown for his lying and anti social tendencies with regard to his affair with Monica Lewinsky. Bill Clinton has Mars Neptune conjunct ascendant in his chart. Venus the ascendant ruler is also square his Saturn Uranus midpoint.

Dennis Rodman the anti social sportsman

Dennis supports the Mars Neptune aspect for anti social types however, Saturn Uranus midpoint is conjunct his Mid Heaven and Neptune.

Ronald Isley from the Isley Brothers band spent some time in jail for tax evasion. He supports the Saturn Uranus combination for anti social tendencies. 21st May 1942 Cincinnati 7 25 am.

Police beating of Rodney King inspired anti social riots

Rodney King has been arrested for spousal abuse DUI, possession of the drug PCP, indecent exposure and speeding. Rodney might best be remembered by the riots in Los Angeles following his beating by several policemen.

Rodney King has the unique planetary aspects common to those born in the 1965 era. It would seem logical for the astrology of this particular year in time to show anti social tendencies in ones personality. The sixties was all about rebellion and anti establishment behaviour.  Perhaps the aspect Saturn opposite Uranus in that year combined with Mars Pluto as shown in Rodney King’s chart is representative of  the ‘abused’ and the ‘perpetrator’ in his situation.

Erica Jong is a novelist and social worker. She had several marriage failures which she ultimately used for her own means of self discovery.  It has been reported that her style of writing has broken boundaries of traditional narratives which state that ‘affairs’ lead to disaster. Erica Jong supports the Saturn Uranus conjunction in her natal chart.  26 March 1942 10:25 Manhattan NY. Saturn-Uranus is indicative of breaking traditional boundaries.

In Alan Okens very good book “Complete Astrology” he says about Saturn square Uranus “this is the type of individual who rebels against all forms of established law and is usually resistant to the pressures of authority. Like the conjunction, it is an extremely touchy aspect and can even be violent with Mars, Pluto or Sun involved.”

He sums the Saturn Uranus connections up by saying “A law unto myself”.

Many people going into the armed forces may have the Saturn Uranus configuration. It makes sense that if one becomes familiar with bucking the authority as a means to operate in life, they would most likely thrive in the armed forces. That type of occupation also tends to create a sense of authority for the person at the same time.  So does the anti social person wish to become an authority? Or can they continue breaking  rules achieving creative and positive outcomes? There is an interesting blog post called “I am what I try not to be” which explores contradictory aspects of personality and behaviours.

Venus at the Mid Heaven can also represent the “Con Man”. The used car salesman or financial consultant selling something that he or she knows is going to benefit by. The anti social person however is the person who doesn’t care what happens to others in their dealings. There is a technique in gardening called companion planting or inter-cropping.  Inter-cropping is where one plant is grown next to the other with the hope that both plants grow to maximum potential. The two plants compete for the same nutrients however they assist in each others growth in complimentary ways. In relationships and synastry work it would seem holistic to also find two people capable of growing together in a similar fashion as inter-cropping philosophy. Unfortunately that is an idealistic concept in the human world.

Intercropping

Below is a quote from a Danish inter cropping website explaining the nature of inter-cropping.

“Inter-cropping is considered as the practical application of ecological principles such as diversity, crop interaction and other natural regulation mechanisms. Inter-cropping is defined as the growth of two or more crops in proximity in the same field during a growing season to promote interaction between them. Available growth resources, such as light, water and nutrients are more completely absorbed and converted to crop biomass by the intercrop as a result of differences in competitive ability for growth factors between intercrop components. The more efficient utilization of growth resources leads to yield advantages and increased stability compared to sole cropping.”

The principle of companion planting sounds wonderful but is the result always equitable? There is a tree in Australia called Nyutsia Floribunda or the Christmas Tree. The Christmas tree is a symbiotic tree which requires a companion to produce its bright orange flower every year.

The Christmas Tree

Unfortunately for the companion plants the Floribunda sucks all the nutrients for itself and leaves the other plants to manage somehow. The Christmas Tree in other words is a thief by design and uses other plants resources to produce its display of extraordinary bloom. The Christmas tree is perhaps a passive plant with narcissistic and antisocial tendencies. Perhaps it is even more unfortunate for the Christmas Tree because without its reliance on and proximity to other plants it produces less orange flaming. In the end the other plants die off and become less useful for the Floribunda. Such is life in the plant world.

In Psychology the need for reliance on others to survive is called dependency. Where two people become quite reliant on each other the term co dependence is used and where a person needs both Independence and dependency at the same time, the term Hostile Dependency is used.

Co Dependency

There are many indicators in Astrology for dependency and the incongruous nature of hostile dependency in the natal chart. Relationships and the nature of the first and seventh houses are predominantly involved however there are planetary combinations which also play an emphasis in how we might attract others to get what we need in relationships.

Planetary combinations and placements for dependency in the natal horoscope involve:

• Moon Neptune aspects
• Venus Neptune
• Moon in the seventh house
• Saturn in the seventh house
• Moon Pluto aspects
• Moon in Pisces
• Neptune on the ascendant

There are also placements in the natal chart that indicate strengths for a particular person which can ultimately work to attract others who may not have such strengths in their personality make up. For example; Moon Jupiter in a woman’s chart shows a need for caring and nurturing others in her life. It would make sense that she attracted the kind of worthy person to fulfill this ability she has. The complexity underlying her need to nurture others requires her partner to allow her this “job”.  There is something in the process that she gains by diverting her attention to the needs of others.  In other words the Moon Jupiter woman perhaps ignores aspects of her own life by caring for others. The development of this kind relationship can in build co dependency factors.

There is much going on beneath the surface here

A person may have an emphasis in Cardinal points in the chart which explains their need for action and seeking out challenges in life. They are survivors and have means to do that but what if they also have Moon on the seventh cusp? There seem to be two requirements the person will need to seek out. On one hand they can be independent and on the other they need relationships in their life.

Similarly with other chart contradictions which describe independent motivations for a person and then their need for someone else in their life. Mars in the first house and Saturn in the seventh house may also represent the incongruous nature of Hostile Dependency factors. The person is very happily dependent in the relationship one moment and then they push the person away during arguments to gain their independence once again.

The hostile type of relationship can take years to end with one ‘patch up’ after an other until one or both persons decides that they have been ripped off too much and seek out other partners. It is very difficult for a hostile dependant person to be alone but when they are with the person they claim to love, they hate that too.

Perhaps the Australian Floibunda Christmas Tree operates within a complex symbiosis where using the other trees to meet its own needs. Is that stealing if the other trees allow that to happen?

By either good luck or the complex underlying needs in relationship patterns, Jupiter in the eighth house represents how a person is lucky with other peoples resources. Perhaps Jupiter in the seventh house also allows for the good fortune in attracting generous and abundant partners.

There is something about the Moon Jupiter woman that is attractive for the other person involved in that kind of relationship. It seems all they must do is meet an underlying need in return to complete the relationship symbiosis.

It seems that the idea of companion planting in human relationships is fraught with complexities however in human nature our cognitive abilities allows for changing ones position in life. To stand firm and to create boundaries or by attaining awareness in how taking too much can be like stealth by symbiosis. Sometimes to accept that we need others in our lives and by operating in the best ways possible. Or by sorting out our own individual issues instead of enlisting someone else for that purpose.
