For many, it goes back as early as kindergarten.  That someone says something about you and it is not true, or, even if it is true you still care what others think about you.  That many might say they do not care what another has to say about them simply is untrue, for most of us anyway.  There are those who have the ability to let criticism or incongruities roll right off their backs, and not let it affect them.  Psychologically one might call this emotional survival, others might call it social ambivalence.

I am finding more and more that it is the majority of people who care what others think about them than the other way around, and this directly plays into our social interactions.  Recently I have had at length conversations regarding just this topic.  As I get older I have found that I am more willing to amend fractures in past relationships with others regardless of perceived fault(s).  It is simply too easy to let time run out on someone you once cared for.

There are those who advocate the thick skin theory regarding one’s feelings when interacting with the public.  However the public is just a conglomeration of individuals who are, or were potential friends.  I also understand that it is perhaps too idealistic to believe that almost anyone can be a friend.  Friendship takes time, and nurturing of the soul before one can accept and or offer that specific space in the heart.  Not everyone can be a friend but this does not mean one should not try.

When a person no longer cares what someone thinks about them then this is a problem.  Even more, when one no longer cares to try and manage or repair differences with their fellow human beings then this is a dark place indeed.  As an Astrologer I understand that each person is uniquely different, and that we have uniquely different approaches and strategies to how we view friends and friendships.  However, by keeping this in consideration we might be better able to manage the strains and conflicts that arise.

Yet how do we manage when a perceived friend betrays you for whatever reason and in whatever manner?  I have seen family members estranged from each other for decades and even lifetimes.  Then there are those who were lovers who had been disloyal for this or for that yet they can still keep in touch even though it maybe on the periphery.

Then there is the partner of an individual who might be insecure and demand that you no longer correspond with an old lover or friend of the opposite or same sex.  This certainly suggests a low sense of self esteem or not being good enough on the insecure partner/lover.  Having a partner who wishes to maintain an adult relationship with past lovers can admittedly be challenging however this is solely due to ego insecurities.

These insecurities usually abate with age and life experience.  Still, there are many who refuse to consider that being friends, repairing damaged relationships from the past, or simply maintaing old relationships is one of the reasons we are here on this planet in the first place.  As we grow, so too our perspective on life and its intricacies.

I have spoken with those who are much older than I, and they wish that they had not taken life so seriously and lost touch with those who touched them so deeply.  We only are given today, there is no guarantee we will have tomorrow.  So, we can try and resolve issues that sometimes haunt us, or at the very least those that have affected us both positively and negatively.

I believe that there is a reason that people come into our lives.  Some for a short while, and others for a lifetime.  However just because someone is here today does not mean that they will be here next time we would like to be with them or simply to ask them a question.

Friends and acquaintances move in and out of our lives, but we have a great amount of influence over how often we can see them, and to what degree you show your appreciation.  Some people forget that an e-mail or phone call to say hello, Happy Birthday, or how you doing may stop, no longer allowing us the opportunity to tell them how we feel about them or life in general.

To wait for the time to amend this will simply insure that life has flown by too fast, and regretfully, it will be too late to attempt to do anything about that person(s) who you once had connected but no longer know what they are doing or how they are doing it.  To sum this up, “Of course you care.”

Well, we have made it through what our ancestors dreaded many, many years ago, an Eclipse.  Even today there are cultures, groups and individuals who feel that these celestial events are very important signs for what is to come.  In the past any type of eclipse was viewed as an ominous event.   Some things never change.

In Astrology an eclipse (both Lunar and Solar) is equally important, and says very much about your present aas well as your future.  Depending upon where 0 degrees Gemini falls in your chart that is where the important message awaits you.  Also, depending upon whether this month’s New Moon lands or connects with any of your Natal planets will say very much as well.

As previously stated tonight’s New Moon is in Gemini, and, depending upon your own chart this will dictate what this event holds for you.  San Luis Obispo’s New Moon was square (90 degrees, obstacles) to the planet Neptune in the sign of Pisces suggesting some rather significant details regarding communication, and the lack, or the intensity of what is being said and what is being heard.

Gemini is ruled by the planet Mercury, and Mercury is Inconjunct (150 degrees, friction, difficult) the planet Saturn suggesting difficulty in the social arena (Saturn is currently in Libra, and is Retrograde).  Even as I write this there is social upheaval in Chicago with protesters, both peaceful and violent.  Interestingly enough this protest is mainly about the NATO summit, their policies or lack thereof, and how they are implemented.  Confusion and the lack of clarity are bed mates tonight.

Western culture’s view of what God is, or seems to be, is one of a serious bearded white haired man who sits upon a throne in the heavens watching over us all.  This is best exemplified when attending a church service in any number of religious denominations.

This serious nature and solemnity takes away from the fact that while those attending a church service are sitting in a rigid and upright posture (or kneeling) there are any number of universal expressions going on that are contrary to our thoughts and form.  …….. Just look and listen.

Giving a careful examination of our very own bodies we can hear the “playfulness” of the heart’s rhythmic cadence of pumping blood to the rest of the body.  The rhythmic dance of one’s lungs pushing and pulling our life source.  There are even rhythms to our thoughts regardless of how hard we try to keep a “pure” mind.

Then, there are the dances of life outside of ourselves.  There are chirping and singing birds, the gentle passing of clouds coursing through a blue sky as the planet on which we sit is spinning at an average speed of 800 miles an hour.  And this, not counting the other planets within our solar system zipping along at their own revolutions, we sit unnoticed and un noticing.

Everything is connected and everything is valid, so why do we see it less than what it is?  Of course we have been taught that this is how it is, and this is how it will continue to be.  Many of us have perpetuated this perspective by teaching our own children that God is serious business.  Maybe it is, maybe it is not.  Perhaps we are more of God than less, and we just have not realized it yet.

So, my question is “Does God dance?”  If so, would this loosen the tether that is so securely tied to our physical expression when communicating with our god(s)?  There are Eastern religions whose gods dance and much of their life expression is one of happiness and participation of the universal experience.  Perhaps this is worth our examination, and then again maybe it is not.  What say you?

Astrology has been with mankind for thousands of years, used by the powerful and influential.  However, what was once used to advise Kings and Queens, Presidents and Heads of State has evolved just as we have.

No longer is their the need to collect or recite “laundry lists” (coined by Astrologer Noel Tyl) of Astrological hubris.  In fact, it is thought that the Astrologers who insist on attempting to impress or confuse their clients and students do not really have a full grasp of Today’s Astrology and use outdated terms to cover for a less than substantive discourse with the client.

Pretty much anyone with a decent memory and some beginning knowledge of Astrology can site and quote Astrological reference.  But what are they saying?  Can the Astrologer talk in depth to the meaning of what a person’s chart says, what it means?  Maybe not, and this is my point, man has evolved and so has Astrology.

These days the art of Astrology is just that, it is an art.  It takes years and years of practice and application to build a strong foundational understanding.   With this foundation the Astrologer must be able to communicate his/her knowledge and understanding to the client who is more than likely in a difficult position regarding health, marriage, career, finances and many other important concerns.

Astrology has moved past the Astrologer telling the client that the Moon is in their third house and it means…….. fill in the blank(s).  No, Astrology is a tool to help address the psychology of the problem at hand, just as much as that of the client.  There is a blending of research, study, application and knowledge.  If the Astrologer cannot relate to the psychology of the client then what is the point?

Please understand, I am not speaking of “Evolutionary Astrology,” that is a different color altogether.  The days of old time Astrology such as the recital of such terms as a planet being in its “Fall” or “Exaltation” no longer apply to the new world of Astrology.  There are probably more than a few Astrologers who will want to argue this point, but the train has left the station for those who insist on speaking an old and tattered language.

Some Astrologers or teachers might balk at this question.   However there is no real “gold standard” in how to begin the analysis or synthesis of the Astrological chart.  Some Astrologers might begin with the Sun or Moon sign, or the Ascendant or a combination, and that is just for starters.  Some may use the measurements (aspects) between the planets, while others still will use Hemisphere analysis.

For the most part many Astrologers do not have a consistent approach when breaking the Astrological chart down.  This can be confusing leading to pages and pages of notes, charts, both progressed (there can be an array of progressed charts), transits and wasted time.  If the Astrologer does not have a standard approach to assessing the client’s chart much time is lost and tremendous frustration can build.

If you are a practicing or even amateur Astrologer, seeking a consistent and accurate method of defining your chart or the chart of your client’s I will be offering my method and technique in how to find a starting and end point in Astrological chart preparation.  This approach will also give the practicing Astrologer a method that does not deviate from the first or last time you prepared for an Astrological consultation.

The Astrological Hemispheres relate to the “Angles” or, should I say the “Ascendant, Mid Heaven, Descendant, and Immun Coli or Nadir.”  These links are invaluable to both the Astrologer and the client, favoring a better understanding of the psychology of one’s career, home, marriage or relationships, and health.

Of course not everyone is on board for this predictive and descriptive tool.  When I first learned how to use and understand Hemispheres it was through one of my mentors Noel Tyl.  Noel has been onto many new and unique Astrological techniques but this is due to not only his great abilities but also his decades of Astrological experience.

When I learned how quickly and accurately I could discern a person’s Astrological chart, and thereby their psychological perspective I was amazed.  After applying this technique to hundreds of Astrological charts it is without question an accurate and concise method of understanding not only one’s current family, but several generations of family!

What really amazes me is the resistance of “older” Astrologers to this technique.  What I consider informative others see as less than realistic.  I was made aware of this tool when I was in my late 40′s, so an “old dog” can learn new tricks.  However I apparently am the exception to the rule at least in San Luis Obispo.

The scientific term for this Full Moon is termed “Perigee.”  Full Moons vary in size because of the oval shape of the Moon’s orbit.  The Moon follows an elliptical path around Earth with one side (Perigee) about 50,000 km closer than the other (Apogee).  Full Moons that occur on the Perigee side of the Moon’s orbit seem extra bright and extra big.

A Scorpio Moon is not without its flaws.  The Scorpion is known to sting itself when angered if there is nothing or no one to sting, so be careful tonight because the Scorpion is on the prowl.  Be safe out there and make sure to look both ways before crossing the street!
