On February 21, 2012, the following release was made at the HubbleSite News Center updating us on the status of the discovery in Constellation Ophiuchus of a new earth-like planet. This discovery was originally announced on December 16, 2009; however at that time there were more questions than answers.

Observations by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope have come up with a new class of planet, a waterworld enshrouded by a thick, steamy atmosphere. It’s smaller than Uranus but larger than Earth.

Zachory Berta of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) and colleagues made the observations of the planet GJ1214b.

“GJ1214b is like no planet we know of,” Berta said. “A huge fraction of its mass is made up of water.”

The ground-based MEarth Project, led by CfA’s David Charbonneau, discovered GJ1214b in 2009. This super-Earth is about 2.7 times Earth’s diameter and weighs almost seven times as much. It orbits a red-dwarf star every 38 hours at a distance of 1.3 million miles, giving it an estimated temperature of 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

In 2010, CfA scientist Jacob Bean and colleagues reported that they had measured the atmosphere of GJ1214b, finding it likely that it was composed mainly of water. However, their observations could also be explained by the presence of a planet-enshrouding haze in GJ1214b’s atmosphere.

Berta and his co-authors used Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) to study GJ1214b when it crossed in front of its host star. During such a transit, the star’s light is filtered through the planet’s atmosphere, giving clues to the mix of gases.

“We’re using Hubble to measure the infrared color of sunset on this world,” Berta explained.

Hazes are more transparent to infrared light than to visible light, so the Hubble observations help tell the difference between a steamy and a hazy atmosphere.

They found the spectrum of GJ1214b to be featureless over a wide range of wavelengths, or colors. The atmospheric model most consistent with the Hubble data is a dense atmosphere of water vapor.

“The Hubble measurements really tip the balance in favor of a steamy atmosphere,” Berta said.

Since the planet’s mass and size are known, astronomers can calculate the density, of only about 2 grams per cubic centimeter. Water has a density of 1 gram per cubic centimeter, while Earth’s average density is 5.5 grams per cubic centimeter. This suggests that GJ1214b has much more water than Earth does, and much less rock.

As a result, the internal structure of GJ1214b would be an extraordinarily different world than our world.

“The high temperatures and high pressures would form exotic materials like ‘hot ice’ or ‘superfluid water,’ substances that are completely alien to our everyday experience,” Berta said.

Theorists expect that GJ1214b formed farther out from its star, where water ice was plentiful, and migrated inward early in the system’s history. In the process, it would have passed through the star’s habitable zone, where surface temperatures would be similar to Earth’s. How long it lingered there is unknown.

GJ1214b is located in the direction of the constellation Ophiuchus, and just 40 light-years from Earth. Therefore, it’s a prime candidate for study by the planned James Webb Space Telescope.

A paper reporting these results has been accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal and is available online.

GJ 1214b: A Steam-Bath World

As the census of known extrasolar planets grows, so too does the variety of species in the Cosmic Planetary Zoo. There are “hot Jupiters,” “super Earths,” lava-covered orbs, and who knows what else — all being chased down at once. It’s hard enough for professional astronomers to keep track of them all, let alone we interested bystanders.

One exoplanet that’s attracted a lot of attention since its discovery in 2009 is GJ 1214b. It circles a dim red dwarf that’s just 40 light-years away in Ophiuchus, which makes this a fairly easy system to study.

The planet is a “super-Earth”, 2.7 times the size of ours, while the host star is only a fifth the size of our Sun and just 0.3% as luminous. The two are very close together, just 1.3 million miles (2.1 million km) apart, suggesting that the planet’s surface temperature is hot but not outrageously so — probably within a couple hundred degrees of boiling water.

What makes astronomers so interested in GJ 1214b is not so much its size or proximity to us but rather its density, just 1.87 g/cm³. That’s too low for it to be rocky throughout and too high to be a gas giant — but a water-rock mixture would be a good fit. In fact, follow-up spectroscopic studies with the Very Large Telescope imply that the planet’s toasty-hot atmosphere is most likely dominated by water.

Now GJ 1214b is in the news again, thanks to near-infrared spectra collected by the Hubble Space Telescope’s Wide-Field Camera 3. (WFC3 isn’t a spectrometer per se, but its infrared channel has 15 different filters spaced between 1.1 and 1.7 microns.) A team led by Zachory Berta (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics) monitored three transits of the planet across the face of its host star, then carefully derived an absorption spectrum for GJ 1214b’s atmosphere.

This is the first time that WFC3 has been used to monitor a transiting exoplanet, and the observers had to be alert to a few minor problems with both the instrument and the target. For example, the star itself is so cool and dim that it exhibits weak spectral features due to water molecules. Their article is set to appear in Astrophysical Journal.

Do a few bad apples spoil the whole barrel? Three important principles to work with:

1. From one dimensional geometry to living organism: Leys are not lines. They are channels for vital energies. Leys will increasingly be seen as arteries, currents, rivers and pathways. Leys are alive. They have the characteristics of a living being.

2. Width: Leys have varying widths. The average ratio of width to length is 1:1000. Long continental and planetary leys have great widths. Great leys have parallel surface boundaries which may have formerly been interpreted as ley lines. These parallel boundaries are concentrated streams of energy that act to contain the great flow of telluric life energy passing through a major planetary artery. When the understanding of this becomes prevalent in Britain, for example, the powers of the world heart chakra, centred at Glastonbury-Shaftesbury, and the connecting Rainbow Serpent ley artery will be greatly increased, in terms of humanity learning to consciously and effectively harmonise its activities with the Spirit of the Earth, in mutual dedication to all life.

3. Great ley arteries cross all continents, oceans and artificial boundaries: Learning to work with the two great planetary arteries – the Rainbow Serpent and the Plumed Serpent – will quickly make this point self-evident. All artificial and negative boundaries dissolve through the development of this work. These two great energy pathways connect with and distribute the forces of the Earth Chakras and other major sacred structures of the Living Earth.

The Scorpion-Eagle Alchemy is a process that is key to fulfilling a number of other prophecies and planetary transition works. The Eagle-Condor Prophecy would be one such work that hinges on its successful completion.

Here is a digest of the authority behind the work of associating Constellation Ophiuchus and the Serpent with the Scorpion-Eagle Prophecy.

Introducing the Secret Agent

In 1930 the IAU (International Astronomical Union) passed a resolution creating 88 constellations to help astrophysicists and astronomers identify and plot stars and other deep space objects. That’s when Constellation Ophiuchus was cut out of the belly of the Scorpion in what appears to have been a cosmic cesarean section operation.

The cosmic irony is that last time Asclepius was delivered into the Light of Day that way (his father Apollo cut him out of the belly of his mother Coronis) his mother was dead and lying on a funeral pyre. In the image at right you’ll see the constellation immediately beneath Constellation Scorpius is named Ara, and that is the Altar of Zeus where sacrifices were made.

Think what it means that the once-giant scorpion has been reduced in stature and trimmed to little more than a slender thread of a constellation as first the Romans hack off its magnificent claws and next the IAU carves away it’s huge egg-shaped body to create Constellation Ophiuchus.

The Scorpion-Serpent-Eagle Alchemy

Here is some enlightening material published on the Internet under a scary title.

According to Blavatsky, the fall of the heavenly Adam-Kadmon, the angelic androgyne, into dense matter and its division into sexes resulted in the transformation of the world from a formerly spiritual and ethereal state into its present material condition. This cataclysmic fall of the first Adam into matter was reflected in the heavens by a change in the sign Virgo-Scorpio; “the pure Virgo is separated, and falling ‘into generation,’ or the downward cycle, becomes Scorpio emblem of sin and matter.” (209:502ff). Scorpio, however, states Fred Gettings in The Secret Zodiac, still retains a dual image—the eagle and scorpion—a duality which represents the two natures of man:

“The eagle of St John is the eagle of Scorpio, which sign (alone of all the twelve) has two images, the eagle the symbol of the redeemed and spiritualized Scorpionic nature, the scorpion its fallen, unredeemed and earth-bound nature.”  (911:43)

Apparently because of its primordial role as the consort of Virgo, the Great Mother Goddess and archetype before Isis, the astrological sign of Scorpio will preside over the restoration of mankind to its previous spiritual state. Occult sources seem to agree on this, that a ‘transformation’ of the whole wide world—a release from entrapment in matter—will occur during the sign of Scorpio:

“It is through the gateway of Scorpio, aided by the Lords of Form, that humanity will come to its final conclusion in the Old Earth and move through the door of the temple into the Grand Way of the New Earth Star. When the earth is under the Zodiacal influence of Scorpio the Zodiacal threshold which emanates through that sign into the earth triggers a series of celestial programs of return, facilitating the earth in ‘dropping the frame’ as the ancients used to say. This allows the earth to move into a new and more etherealized formation. In time, this will result in the earth’s ascension into the New Earth Star.” (914)

The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. – Is. 24:19-20

Thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that Thou shouldest…destroy them which destroy the earth. – Rev.11:18

TRIBE OF DAN: EAGLE OR SCORPION?

The emblem of the tribe of Dan was the serpent, in fulfillment of Jacob’s prophecy in Genesis 49:17: ”Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward.” However, the prince of the tribe of Dan replaced the serpent with an eagle.

“To Dan was given the symbol of Scorpio, which, in the ancient Egyptian zodiac was a snake. However, when the time came to hoist the symbol of the snake, Ahiezer refused and chose instead the symbol of an eagle. According to Unger’s Bible Dictionary:

‘Dan’s position in the journey was on the north of the Tabernacle, with Asher and Naphtali. The standard of the tribe was of white and red, and the crest upon it, an eagle, the great foe to serpents, which had been chosen by the leader instead of a serpent, because Jacob had compared Dan to a serpent.  Ahiezer substituted the eagle, the destroyer of serpents, as he shrank from carrying an adder upon his flag.  It may prove worthwhile to consider the possible connection to the tribe of Dan whenever an eagle is used as the symbol of subsequent leaders or nations.’ “ (127:117)

In the 12th century, a Jewish writer in Spain whose works influenced the Kabbalah, named Antares, the brightest star in Scorpio, “Kesil” or “Akrabh” the crowned serpent. By this designation, Aben Ezra indicated that Jews understood the serpent to be the actual emblem of Dan.

“Sir William Drummond asserted that in the zodiac which the patriarch Abraham knew [Scorpio] was an eagle…

“Aben Ezra identified Scorpio or Antares, with the Kesil; although that people generally considered these stars as a Scorpion, their Akrabh, and, it is claimed, inscribed it on the banners of Dan as the emblem of the tribe whose founder was ‘a serpent by the way.’ When thus shown it was a crowned snake or Basilisk.” (927:362)

In the recent article Diagnosing the Snow Deficit of December NASA reports on anomalous weather conditions in the Continental USA that warrant our attention.

“The Mammoth Mountain ski resort in the Sierras of California got more than 200 inches of snow last December,” said NASA climatologist Bill Patzert of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. “This December they got less than 10 inches.”

According to NASA, December weather in the Continental United States has been somewhat of an issue for the last six years. I live in Southern California and have a sister who lives in Bishop, a small Northern California town that is economically dependent upon weather conditions at Mammoth during ski season. Hence, I can confirm first-hand that weather has been abnormal from one end of California to the other for at least six years, maybe longer.

What makes the instant NASA report of particular interest to Astronomologer readers is that December is the month in which the Sun transits Constellation Ophiuchus.

As you may remember, the 13th Zodiac Constellation was officially introduced into Mainstream Consciousness in mid-January 2011 when a statement made by an Astronomer in Minnesota USA about Ophiuchus being the 13th Zodiac Sign was picked up by mass media. The story was run in newsprint and broadcast worldwide over all the major cable and television networks. Ophiuchus became the top trending search topic on the Internet overnight.

Repeated key appearances of Ophiuchus and the Serpent at significant Astronomical and Astrological events all year long accumulated to make 2011 an historic year Astrologically. The 2011 December transit of the Sun through Constellation Ophiuchus did not disappoint. It proved to be energetically potent all the way up to the first day of the Chinese New Year 2012.

Diagnosing the Snow Deficit of December

December 2011 was one of the driest Decembers on record in the continental United States—particularly short on snowfall—and also among the warmest. Several large-scale weather and climate patterns are likely to blame for an unusual jet stream and the unseasonal weather.

The top map shows December precipitation across the lower 48 United States as a percentage of normal for the month. The map is based on measurements compiled by the NOAA Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service. Shades of brown show rain and snow levels below normal, with blues indicating above-average precipitation. Much of the Pacific Coast, the Rockies, and Southeast were extremely dry. Even in areas that were wetter than normal, most precipitation was rain instead of snow.

The middle graph depicts an index of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) for every December since 1950. The lower graph shows an index of the Arctic Oscillation (AO) for the same period. A third piece of the puzzle—La Niña—is shown here.

The North Atlantic Oscillation is the dominant winter weather driver for eastern North America and Europe. The NAO is a ratio of shifting high and low atmospheric pressure. When NAO is strongly positive, atmospheric pressure is higher in the subtropical Atlantic (around the Azores) and lower in the North Atlantic (near Iceland). The result is usually cold and dry weather in northern Canada and Greenland, with warm and wetter weather in the Northeastern U.S.

Likewise, the Arctic Oscillation is a fluctuation of pressure systems around the Arctic Circle. When air pressure near the North Pole is high and the AO is positive, strong winds trap cold air at high latitudes. When the pressure weakens and AO turns negative, cold weather systems leak out of the polar regions and bring blasts of winter to the middle latitudes of North America.

Both the NAO and AO indices were extremely positive in December 2011. (According to blogger and meteorologist Jeff Masters, the NAO actually set a record of +2.52 in December.) The NAO and AO patterns influenced the intensity and track of storm systems, mostly by driving the jet stream northward for most of the month. At the same time, La Niña ocean and atmospheric circulation patterns continued in the Pacific Ocean, pushing the jet stream further away from the continental U.S.

The result was a steady stream of southwesterly winds and very few bursts of Arctic weather descending to mid-latitudes. The more tangible result was a lack of snow around the country, a complete turnaround from last year.

Unfortunately, we don’t understand why the AO varies so much from winter to winter, nor why the AO has taken on such extreme configurations during four of the past six winters.”

The Astronomology View

The Snow Deficit of December article states:

… “This winter’s remarkable AO/NAO pattern stands in stark contrast to what occurred the previous two winters, when we had the most extreme December jet stream patterns on record in the opposite direction (a strongly negative AO/NAO). The December Arctic Oscillation index has fluctuated wildly over the past six years, with the two most extreme positive and two most extreme negative values on record. Unfortunately, we don’t understand why the AO varies so much from winter to winter, nor why the AO has taken on such extreme configurations during four of the past six winters.”

Stitching NASA’s meteorological body language clues together with the bits and pieces of cosmic and spaceweather information we’ve already collected about December 2011 makes interesting reading.

The issue

The issue is unpredictable weather patterns affecting December rainfall over the last 6 years with the most severe symptom occurring in December 2011.

Location (Northern California, Continental USA) is a sub-topic that modifies the main message to complete the sentence.

The question

On January 23 we rang in the 2012 Chinese Year of the Water Dragon. Is it possible that the Astrological grids of East and West were working co-creatively on a specific 2012 Water Dragon Agenda Item?

The elemental metaphors – it’s the water

The Sun virtually transits Constellation Ophiuchus throughout the entire month of December even though the Sun crosses into Sagittarius on or around December 18-19. The Sun while in early degrees of Constellation Sagittarius it is still under the heavy influence of the Ophiuchus-Serpens Cauda sector of the Zodiac Belt which includes Hercules, Lyra and Draco to the North – Scorpius and Ara the Altar to the South¹. Therefore it is reasonable to infer that the sentient cosmic energy layers interacting with each other during the end of calendar year 2011 were engaged in some sort of spiritual alchemy possibly having to do with the Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon, a process in which Ophiuchus was intimately involved.

In that article we threw the term Cosmic Hieros Gamos out for consideration but we didn’t go into detail about it. Cursory research into HG as an operation of mystical chemical alchemy turns up the following tidbit:

Figure 1 shows a fountain fitted with three spigots.  The waters are the key to unlocking the meaning of this image, for the text explains that the waters flowing from each are really a single water –‘of which and with which our magistery is effected.’  The three waters evoke a hierogamy described in the Enuma Eliş, a Mesopotamian creation myth from around 1900 b.c.e., which relates how the primordial waters of Tiamat, ‘she who bore them all,’ and Apsu, ‘their begetter . . . commingle as a single body,’ and thus become the sole matrix from which everything emerges. The verse accompanying the figure heightens the correspondence between the alchemical fountain and the hierogamy that produced all life:  ‘We (waters) are the metal’s first nature and only source; the highest tincture of the Art is made through us.’

Look no further for water’s opposite element or a drying or evaporative agent than the activity of the Solar Star throughout the month of December 2011.

Throughout the ‘month of Ophiuchus’ the Sun spewed huge swatches of Solar Plasma out into the solar system and often directed towards Earth. Solar Fire bursts and geomagnetic storms coincided with the transits of key planets and asteroids past sensitized pulse points located along the Zodiac Belt in Constellation Ophiuchus. Auroras danced in the Ethers of the Arctic Circle and sometimes even uncharacteristically farther south than that.

Draco the Zodiac Dragon, by the way, lies curled around three-quarters of the North Pole inside the Arctic Circle on the Continental North America side of the planet.

Since the whole idea of Ascension and the New Age involves radical changes to the physical plane, it stands to reason therefore that cosmic causation producing physical plane effects are only to be expected.

If not, then by what other means do we perceive help from Above is being received as we become Fourth and Fifth Dimensional and begin to be able to see with the blinders removed from our eyes?

Elementally, Scorpio the Zodiac Sign is Fixed Water. Revitalized and standing clear of the waters of death as represented by the aforesaid scorpion, Ophiuchus the Serpent Holder now brings the 5th Element Ether to the Zodiac Circle, fulfilling one of many prophecies in line to be realized in the New Age.

Simply put, in Western Astrology the element Ether is Spirit, the source of all Four Elements².

To facilitate celestial system changes being cosmically expressed into activity at the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, the International Astronomical Union – a collective agency advancing the New Earth’s Cosmic Design, separated Constellation Ophiuchus from Constellation Scorpius in 1930.

IAU rulings should be accepted and honored. Astronomy is Astrology’s life partner. By what form of arrogance do we decide who is and who is not carrying out their part of the Plan and who needs to “get spiritual” before their works can be considered enlightened? This is a time when we all need to let go and Trust the Process. How else are hard changes going to be made when emotional attachments and spiritual pride are clouding the lenses and hampering the ability of thinkers on all sides of a question to see clearly?

The utility of the December weather report centering on the USA

Diagnosing the Snow Deficit of December – that’s a curious title to be giving an article about the weather, don’t you think? It makes NASA sound like they think the planet needs a doctor.

What metaphor or allegory can we apply to give us insight into what this symptom centered in the Continental USA may be telling us?

For better or worse it is apparent that mass consciousness on the planet is harboring the belief that the USA is at the root of all the troubles of the world.

The fact that the USA is in the cross-hairs of consciousness as the new Global Society struggles to enter the New Age all in one piece and catastrophe-free makes it the obvious place for the Divine Physician to bring aggressive treatment.

Has this always been part of the Plan?

According to my information unforeseen events in the USA’s past took it off course. Whether or not that is true, it is clear the Scorpion-Eagle Prophesy will probably not be able to complete itself without help. There is a struggle going on between the two animal powers of this Nation, the “Great Spirit” Eagle totem inherited from the Native North American indigenous peoples who suffered genocide at the hands of the white man and the Scorpion Rising on the USA’s Astrology birth chart, representing the USA’s well earned personality path.

Here is the metaphysical problem that it’s going to take a modern miracle to resolve:

The Scorpion is a Fixed sign. That means it is virtually immovable.

In Astrology terms the Fixed Signs embody the Kerubs, the main repositories for the Four Elements, and marking the Four Corners, Pillars or Towers of the sensible Universe. What we’re effectively facing in this Country as we view the vista laid out before us is The Kobayashi Maru — a no-win situation.

• The Kobayashi Maru is a test in the fictional universe of Star Trek. It is a Starfleet training exercise designed to test the character of cadets in the command track at Starfleet Academy. The test’s name is occasionally used among Star Trek fans or those familiar with the series to describe a no-win scenario, or a solution that involves redefining the problem.

An insertion point for the solution to the no-win situation was written into the Plan by the Creative Hierarchy and then disguised and concealed.

And so as the unexpected 13th Zodiac Constellation, released by the IAU from the body of the Scorpion, materializes before our very eyes bearing a crowned Serpent of Wisdom and ready to dispense healing and wisdom energy to Humanity and the Planet, what we see is that the rules of the game have been changed. But not everyone who should be is happy about it.

Notwithstanding the protestations of old style Astrologers who stand firm against the idea of factoring a new sign into the old zodiac belt, the evolved Esoteric birth figure of the USA reveals itself to feature Ophiuchus Rising.

Regardless of how many channels are being purposely self-blocked, clearly Constellation Ophiuchus has not only acted as a mediating factor in the empowerment of the 2012 Chinese Water Dragon, but it has leveraged itself into position to bring healing and wisdom to the USA and by extension to the planet.

How so?

Keeping a weather-eye on the horizon

In the process of making their way through Constellation Ophiuchus in 2011 all transiting planets and asteroids also crossed the North Lunar Node.

Lunar nodes are the points at which the orbit of the Moon crosses the Ecliptic Plane. The Ecliptic Plane is another name for the Zodiac Belt. It is the orbital path of the Earth around the Sun as viewed from the Earth.

Eclipses occur only near the lunar nodes: Solar eclipses occur when the passage of the Moon through a node coincides with the new moon; lunar eclipses occur when passage coincides with the full moon.

The ascending node is where the moon crosses to the north of the ecliptic. The descending node is where it crosses to the south. The South Lunar Node is currently in Constellation Taurus, the zodiac sign of Money and the Working Class — people whose homes and jobs are either gone or on the line.

Taurus is also a Fixed sign, a Kerub, one of the Four Corners, Pillars or Towers of the Known Universe. It is also the sign directly opposite Constellation Ophiuchus — which would also be Fixed if it were not Etheric.

These may be the touchiest subjects on the planet right now as citizens the world over gather and demonstrate in the streets carrying Occupy Wall Street banners or their equivalent and the Dark Side does not want its Towers toppled.

Think about it.

On May 20-21, 2012 a Solar Eclipse will occur in Constellation Taurus.

This eclipse will not only be the first solar eclipse of 2012, it will be the first Annular eclipse to be seen from the United States in 18 years and the first one to be visible from earth in more than 2 years.

The Eclipse Path starts out in Japan, crosses the Pacific Ocean, makes land in Northern California, and finally disappears somewhere in the American Southwest.

In conclusion

I think probably under the circumstances we may be getting a glimpse of what lies ahead. All we need to do is read the cosmic body language.

Indications are a dry December ruining rich people’s ski seasons at Mammoth is the least of the economics problems the USA is going to be working through in 2012 and beyond.

The form of the future is in the hands of those who are willing to work for it. There is better work one could be doing than reporting to an office or a job site and selling one’s breath or worse yet, one’s soul, for somebody else to boss around. We are destined for greatness. This greatness requires the development of our Minds and Souls. Pumping Spiritual Iron is what I call it. And that is the work that is key to success in your future — not bringing home a paycheck. That kind of expedience does not pay dividends. It uses you up and throws you away when it’s done.

As for me, I live in Sunny Southern California; I’m not rich but I’m living my dream and this is it. Today I’m enjoying spring-like winter weather. I’ve got my doors and windows wide open right now and it’s February 17th. By all rights it should be wet and in the 40′s and 50′s here (yes, that’s “cold” to us here in the Southwest). But it’s not cold and wet here this year.

We don’t have groundhogs here in San Diego to tell us how many weeks of wetsuit weather the surfers have left to bear. Our weather gurus are the flocks of Mexican Parrots that fly north to San Diego in the spring to avoid the Mexican heat of summer.

And guess what? They made their first appearance here two weeks ago.

Metaphysical perspective

When the Moon crosses the Ecliptic Plane from South to North she will be transducing a bolt of Solar System current from the Earth’s Zodiac Belt at the nodal point called Rahu or “the Dragon’s Head” before moving on to her next Nodal crossing on the following day. She will cross the Galactic Plane from North to South — the Dragon’s Tail — where a similar transduction process will occur but with the energy upgraded. This crossing point is a Galactic-Earth Lunar Node as it connects the principles of Luna’s nodal points with the fact that it is the Galactic Zodiac Belt from the Earth’s perspective that is being crossed.

At the same time the Dragon Moon is crossing the Galactic Equator the Sun will be crossing a constellation boundary, leaving Sagittarius and moving into Constellation Capricornus. Sun and Moon will be on their respective constellation cusps at extreme opposite ends of Constellation Sagittarius for only some minutes — affording just enough time for a plasma arc to connect them both with the Galactic Spiritual Plane at the same time (the Center of the Milky Way Galaxy resides in Constellation Sagittarius) to imbue both Sun and Moon with Cosmic Spiritual Fire — not enough fire power to boil the blood or set anything ablaze. Just enough to bond them both to the same Spiritual ideals, goals, and benevolent intentions so their offspring have a good chance at being Rainbow Dragons.

We will watch the Solar Activity to see if the Sun has generated such an arc of Solar Light.

Meanwhile, the Solar System is currently processing energy from the Moon’s transit of Constellation Ophiuchus.

Solar activity was already building during the preceding week with a backside C6 class flare discharged in the direction of Venus on January 16. However, the flurry of solar activity around the target date of January 23 seemed to come to a definite end in the week following Chinese New Year.

EARTH-DIRECTED SOLAR FLARE: Active sunspot 1401 erupted today, Jan. 19th, between 15:15 and 16:30 UT. The long-duration blast produced an M3-class solar flare and a CME that appears to be heading toward Earth. This movie from the Solar Dynamics Observatory shows the extreme UV flash:

NASA’s twin STEREO spacecraft recorded an impressive CME emerging from the blast site: movie #1, movie #2. Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab confirm that the CME is heading for Earth, and they say strong geomagnetic storms are possible (although not guaranteed) when the cloud arrives this weekend. Their animated forecast track predicts an impact on Jan. 21st at 22:30 UT (+/- 7 hrs). Aurora alerts: text, voice.

INCOMING CME: Active sunspot 1401 erupted yesterday, Jan. 19th around 16:30 UT, producing an M3-class solar flare and a full-halo coronal mass ejection (CME). The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory recorded the cloud expanding almost directly toward Earth:

Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab say strong geomagnetic storms are possible when the cloud arrives this weekend. Their animated forecast trackpredicts an impact on Jan. 21st at 22:30 UT (+/- 7 hrs). Aurora alerts: text, voice.

The cloud is also heading for Mars, due to hit the Red Planet on Jan. 24th. NASA’s Curiosity rover, en route to Mars now, is equipped to study solar storms and might be able to detect a change in the energetic particle environment when the CME passes by.

INCREASING SOLAR ACTIVITY CLEANS UP SAT-DEBRIS: Earth’s atmosphere has been puffing up in response to increasing levels of UV radiation from sunspots. This is good news for satellite operators, because a puffed up atmosphere helps clean up low-Earth orbit. “The number of cataloged debris in Earth orbit actually decreased during 2011,” reports Nick Johnson in NASA’s Orbital Debris Quarterlynewsletter. “[The figure below] illustrates how the rate of debris reentries from the Fengyun-1C anti-satellite test of January 2007 increased during the past year.”

“Even though only 6% of the total 3218 cataloged debris from the ill-advised engagement had reentered by the end of 2011, half of these debris fell out of orbit in the past 12 months,” he points out. “Likewise, many debris from the 2009 accidental collision of Cosmos 2251 and Iridium 33 are accelerating their departure from Earth orbit. In the absence of a new major satellite breakup, the overall orbital debris population should continue to decrease during 2012 and 2013.”

Solar Activity Report for January 21, 2012 – from Spaceweather.com

WHILE WAITING FOR THE CME… An incoming CME of Jan. 19th (see below) has not yet arrived. Nevertheless, auroras are already dancing around the Arctic Circle. This was the scene last night over Chatanika, Alaska:

“My fellow Fairbanks aurora chaser, Roger Marty, is shown here shooting a corona as the display began to peak,” says photographer Ronn Murray. “Perhaps we got a sneak peak of what’s to come with tomorrow’s expected CME from sunspot AR1401.”

Indeed, it could be a preview. NOAA forecasters are estimating as much as a 25% chance of polar geomagnetic storms when the CME arrives during the next ~36 hours. High latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

What has happened to the Solar Flare activity since yesterday?

After the initial solar flare activity on the 18th and 19th the sunspots calmed down and solar flare activity wasn’t strong enough for Spaceweather News or Solar Watcher to comment on except to say the Northern Lights were beginning to dance around the polar regions of our planet (see above).

The geomagnetic storm at this point is still on the way.

Judging by what I’ve seen today (see below) the geomagnetic storm that is on the way is going to be one for the record books. There is cosmic energy layered into it that may not be measurable by anything NASA has or can imagine ever building.

Here for those of us who can never get enough data is a list of the solar bursts beginning with the M1.7 on the 18th.

Gamma Ray Burst Report for January 21, 2012

I haven’t spent any time explaining gamma ray bursts — it just seemed like between Solar Flares, Crop Circles and Earthquakes I was throwing enough at you in a short period of time so I didn’t bring it up.

But now I have to bring it up because we’ve just been pinged by Constellation Ophiuchus.

Today, on January 21 at 09:42:19 UTC a Gamma Ray Burst inside the Zodiac Belt Zone in Constellation Ophiuchus spoke volumes.

The alignment of GRB 20120121A with Alpha Scorpius-Omega Ophiuchus-Zeta Ophiuchus meridian is compelling all by itself. But factor in all the other alignments of stars to Asteroids and Cardinal Angles and even the most neophyte of Astrologers can plainly see the term “compelling” has just taken a quantum leap in meaning.

The screen captures of the sky at the time of the GRB outlines the high points of the celestial sphere’s body language. This is just the Ophiuchus part of it.

What has happened instead of intensified solar activity is that a Gamma Ray Burst from the Rho Ophiuchus area of the constellation has demonstrated its sentient energy body’s response to what is occurring in this process as we bring in to 2012 what may turn out to be the Mother of all Water Dragons — either figuratively or quite literally!

As you can see, the gamma ray burst has occurred parallel with the Heart of Constellation Scorpius, Antares.¹ The definition of an Astrological Parallel is within 1.5-3.0° of Declination, depending on the bodies being considered.

This burst was timed to stop the cosmic clock with Due South at the Forked Tongue of the new Southern Serpent of Light Wisdom which was formerly a stinger tail aimed at Galactic Center.

Apparently this constellation is functioning as a Healing Serpent of Wisdom — as described in documentation on Startistics – and as such is communicating to Galaxy Center that all is in order, the Lights and Power are ON at Constellation Ophiuchus.

The southern serpent by the way needs no permission by Astrology to perform as a Serpent of Light instead of a Scorpion of Death. Get on board if you want to reprogram your own mind to trade Death and Malevolence for Light, Wisdom & Healing. This should be a no-brainer.

GRB 20120121A was also timed to stop the cosmic clock at a specific time when the Zenith of the Sky would give us the second part of this message, which isn’t necessarily the second in importance. It is the Crowning Energy, the Ray from the Celestial Sphere’s Crown Chakra – the Monad Ray of Power.

Although I have no way of knowing what’s coming next (I missed on the Sagittarius Sun-Moon-Solar Arc prediction but this is much better ), I’m still rooting for the Water Dragon to give birth to a clutch of Rainbow Dragon babies. How about you?

Here’s how we translate Seismic activity. Take zero hours Right Ascension (00H00M00S) and align it with the Greenwich Mean Line (0° Longitude). Freeze the Earth and Sky for long enough to take a screen capture. Drop a plumb line from the Zenith location of the various stars and celestial objects to their places on the Earth. That becomes their Default Terrestrial Coordinate.

It’s kind of like a giant Game Board. Constellation Ophiuchus is in the WATER off the coast of Mexico, Central and South America. That Condor looks like a pretty big Feathered Serpent to me–what do you think?

So aligning the meridians and freezing Earth and Sky on the date and time of the 6.3 Quake offshore at Chiapas, Mexico, here is the confirming message Earth Mother is sending us about Her part in the goings on:

Solar Activity Report for January 22, 2012

CME IMPACT: A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetic field at 0617 UT on Jan. 22nd. At first the impact did not appear to be a strong one: the solar wind speed barely lifted itself to ~400 km/s when the CME passed by. Now, however, in the wake of the CME, a dense and increasingly geoeffective solar wind stream is blowing around Earth, setting the stage for possible auroras on the night of Jan. 22nd. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

A surge of ground currents in Lofoton, Norway, signaled the CME’s arrival, but the impact occurred as the sun was rising–too late for European sky watchers to spy the Northern Lights. In Canada, however, there was a window of visibility:

“It was very cloudy at Lake Laberge north of Whitehorse, but we just happened to get 10 minutes of clear sky not long after the CME hit,” reports Phil Hart from the Yukon. “A green corona appeared directly overhead.”

Solar Activity Report for January 23, 2012 from Spaceweather.com

RADIATION STORM IN PROGRESS: Solar protons accelerated by this morning’s M9-class solar flare are streaming past Earth. On the NOAA scale of radiation storms, this one ranks S3, which means it could, e.g., cause isolated reboots of computers onboard Earth-orbiting satellites and interfere with polar radio communications. An example of satellite effects: The “snow” in this SOHO coronagraph movie is caused by protons hitting the observatory’s onboard camera.

ALMOST-X FLARE AND CME (UPDATED): This morning, Jan. 23rd around 0359 UT, big sunspot 1402 erupted, producing a long-duration M9-class solar flare. The explosion’s M9-ranking puts it on the threshold of being an X-flare, the most powerful kind. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the flare’s extreme ultraviolet flash:

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) and NASA’s STEREO-B spacecraft detected a CME rapidly emerging from the blast site: movie. Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab say the leading edge of the CME will reach Earth on Jan. 24 at 14:18UT (+/- 7 hours). Their animated forecast track shows that Mars is in the line of fire, too; the CME will hit the Red Planet during the late hours of Jan. 25.

This is a relatively substantial and fast-moving (2200 km/s) CME. Spacecraft in geosynchronous, polar and other orbits passing through Earth’s ring current and auroral regions could be affected by the cloud’s arrival. In addition, strong geomagnetic storms are possible, so high-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. Magnetic storm alerts: text, voice.

JAN. 22ND CME IMPACT: Arriving a little later than expected, a coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth’s magnetic field at 0617 UT on Jan. 22nd. According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the impact strongly compressed Earth’s magnetic field and briefly exposed satellites in geosynchronous orbit to solar wind plasma. Shifting lines of magnetic force induced strong ground currents in Norway and sparked bright auroras over the upper reaches of North America. This colorful corona appeared over Chatanika, Alaska:

“We enjoyed some amazing displays as the late arriving CME made its presence felt,” says photographer Ronn Murray.

According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, the CME strongly compressed Earth’s magnetic field and briefly exposed satellites in geosynchronous orbit to solar wind plasma. For the next 24 hours, Earth’s magnetic field reverberated from the impact, stirring bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. Bjørn Jørgensen observed this display from Tromsø, Norway:

“This was amazing,” he says. “It was a wonderful experience to see these stunning auroras.”

NOAA forecasters estimate a 10% – 25% chance of continued geomagnetic storms tonight as effects from the CME impact subside. The odds will increase again on Jan. 24-25 as a new CME (from today’s M9-clare) approaches Earth. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

The impact also disturbed Earth’s ionosphere. In Atlanta, Georgia, radio engineer Pieter Ibelings monitored a 4.5 MHz CODAR (coastal radar) signal as it bounced off layers of ionization along the US east coast. “The moment of impact can be clearly seen on the CODAR radar plot,” he points out:

“The CODAR transmitters are located all around the coast and are used for mapping the ocean currents to a distance of about 200 miles,” Ibelings explains. “These signals also propagate through the ionosphere so they can be picked up all around the world. The signals are almost perfect for ionospheric sounding since they are linear chirps. I capture the chirp with a receiver locked to GPS both in frequency and time. I then de-chirp the waveform so I can extract the time of arrival information at my location.”

The CODAR echoes show ionization layers shifting vertical position by some hundreds of kilometers, changes that surely affected the propagation of HF radio signals in the aftermath of the impact. More information about Ibelings’ observations may be found here.

Astronomology Report

Have you invested in suspenders to hold your socks up yet? We don’t want to keep having to go into the next Universe in search of them every time you’re blown away by what the Cosmos is showing us.

In this frame we see Due East in Constellation Ophiuchus is aligned with Cat’s Eye Nebula in Constellation Draco. Cat’s Eye Nebula is the celestial object we use to mark the North Celestial (Zodiac) Pole.

At the Ascendant (where the Horizon bisects the Zodiac Belt) is Constellation Scorpius, rising at a critical degree. It’s a critical degree by virtue of the number of celestial events that have occurred here recently² to mark it. It is highly charged.

Asteroid Imhotep is still aligned with Alpha Ophiuchus and will be for some days yet. Asteroid Asclepius is still transiting Constellation Ophiuchus though I did not include it in the sky map above.

The Moon as you can see is now all the way into Constellation Capricornus and while the conjunction will not be perfected until 07:39, it was close enough to be in the Sun’s embrace for the M8.7 Solar Flare.

Had the Sun waited any longer to release plasma, Due East would have slipped into Constellation Sagittarius and the perfect alignment with Cat’s Eye Nebula would have been lost, as would the Scorpius Ascendant at the fully-charged critical degree briefly described above.

The Sun and Moon were also in Ecliptic Longitude alignment with Alpha Aquila (Altair), the Eye of the Celestial Eagle. The Moon was within 1 degree and applying to the alignment while the Sun was within 1 degree and separating from alignment culmination. Hence the Zero Point of the Ray from the Eagle’s Eye was  between the Sun and Moon like the pole of the Caduceus was put between the two serpents by Hermes in the Greek Myth.

We can see from this combination of signs and images that the Scorpion-Serpent-Eagle Alchemy isn’t just a spiritual ideal toward which humanity is working. It is a formula for electro-magnetic energy that can be produced on this Cosmic Circuit Board and delivered to us via pulsations from our Solar Star.

Another observation I hope we have all agreed on is that true Magic is being made here by the so-called “13th Zodiac Constellation-Sign” — and we should all be encouraged by it. It does, after all, represent solutions to problems on this planet that are quite possibly hundreds of thousands of years old.

Solar Activity Report for January 24, 2012 from Spaceweather.com

CME IMPACT: As expected, a CME hit Earth’s magnetic field on Jan. 24th at approximately 1500 UT (10 am EST). Geomagnetic storms are likely in the hours ahead. If it’s dark where you live, go outside and look for auroras.

In Lofoton, Norway, the CME’s arrival produced a surge in ground currents outside the laboratory of Rob Stammes:

“The expected CME arrived and showed up on my instruments at 15.10 UTC–a fantastic shockwave followed by a magnetic storm,” says Stammes. “This could be a happy day for many aurora watchers.” Aurora alerts: text, voice.

Indeed, the first auroras, post-impact, have been sighted in Scandinavia. Ashton Seth Reimer sends this picture from Longyearbyen, Norway:

“All day I was anticipating a beautiful auroral display,” says Reimer. “In Longyearbyen, we certainly weren’t disappointed. The display lasted for an solid hour before pushing south. I hope the rest of you enjoy the display as much as we did up here.”

SUBSIDING STORM: A geomagnetic storm caused by Monday’s M9-class solar flare and Tuesday’s CME impact is over. The aurora watch is cancelled for all but the highest latitudes around the Arctic Circle.

STORM RECAP: As expected, a CME hit Earth’s magnetic field on Jan. 24th at approximately 1500 UT (10 am EST). The impact produced a G1-class geomagnetic storm and bright auroras around the Arctic Circle. As the storm crested, Göran Strand of Östersund, Sweden, took a panoramic photo and wrapped it 360-degrees to create this composition, which he calls Planet Aurora:

Even veteran aurora watchers were impressed. “This was one of the best Northern Lights displays that I’ve ever seen, and I mean ever in over 5000 hours on the ice,” says Andy Keen of Inari, Finland. “It was, in short, truly spectacular and something that will live with me for a lifetime.” In the Abisko National Park of Sweden, aurora tour guide Chad Blakely contributed a similar report: “Eight tourists and I were treated to one of the most wonderful displays I have ever seen. The auroras began as we were eating dinner and continued into the very early hours of the morning. Words can not describe the excitement we shared.”

The storm subsided as it crossed the Atlantic and petered out almost completely by the time it reached North America. Only observers in Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland witnessed the full display:

“We went out with snowmobiles to wait for the incoming storm,” says photographer Antti Pietikäinen of Muonio in the Finnish Lapland. “The show started slowly, but after 15mins the landscape was green! This was the first time for Thomas (pictured above) to see the Northern Lights. He was very happy.” Aurora alerts: text, voice.

Solar Activity Report for January 27-28, 2012 from Spaceweather.com

RADIATION STORM: Accelerated by yesterday’s X-flare, energetic protons from the sun are swarming around Earth on Jan. 28th. The radiation storm ranks S2 on NOAA scales, which means this is not a severe storm. Nevertheless, it can still affect spacecraft and satellites at the nuisance level. For instance, this coronagraph image from SOHO is clouded by protons hitting SOHO’s onboard digital camera.

ANNULAR SOLAR ECLIPSE: A “ring of fire” solar eclipse is coming to the USA this spring. It’s the first annular eclipse visible from the contiguous United States in almost 18 years. Science@NASA has the full story and a video.

X-FLARE (UPDATED): Departing sunspot 1402 unleashed an X2-class solar flare on Jan. 27th at 18:37 UT. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash:

Sunspot 1402 is rotating onto the far side of the sun, so the blast site was not facing Earth. Nevertheless, energetic protons accelerated by the blast are now surrounding our planet, and an S2-class radiation storm is in progress.

The explosion also produced a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME). A moviefrom the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory shows the cloud racing away from the sun at 2500 km/s or 5.6 million mph. Update: Work by analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab shows that the CME will just miss Earth when its edge passes by our planet on Jan. 30-31. The cloud will deliver a glancing blow to Mars on Feb 1st and a nearly-direct hit to NASA’s STEREO-Ahead spacecraft on Jan. 29th. Solar flare alerts: text, voice.

AURORAS OVER THE USA: The geomagnetic storm of Jan. 24th died out before night fell over North America–or did it? According to reports still trickling in, auroras were reported not only in Canada, but also in some of the lower 48 US states. Shawn Malone of Marquette, Michigan, took this picture looking north from the shores of Lake Superior:

“I got to view a slice of the aurora through a tiny opening in an otherwise completely overcast sky,” says Malone. “It appeared to be a pretty decent display.”

Prompted by the CME warning, Mike Hollingshead of Nebraska drove 450 miles to the Badlands National Park of South Dakota hoping to catch a glimpse of the auroras. He got more than he bargained for: “While I waited for some sign of auroras, the most amazing fireball I’ve ever seen blasts down. It flashed brightly and illuminated the terrain around me.” Later, the auroras made a belated appearance, turning the badland sky green.

More auroras could be in the offing. A solar wind stream is heading for Earth, due to arrive on Jan. 28-29. NOAA forecasters estimate a 15% chance of geomagnetic storms at high latitudes. Aurora alerts: text, voice.

That was a coronagraph image from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO). The many speckles and streaks are energetic protons striking SOHO’s onboard digital camera. Stronger radiation storms (S4 to S5) can fill images like these with “snow,” rendering them useless for normal operations. The current storm will probably subside later today and restore SOHO’s clear view of the sun.

RING-SHAPED SUNSPOT: New sunspot AR1413 is emerging in the shape of a ring. This two-day movie from the Solar Dynamics Observatory shows the sunspot’s geometric development:

Does the magnetic architecture of this unusual spot harbor energy for strong flares? Magnetograms appear to show some mixing of polarities between the left and right halves of the ring, which could lead to explosive instabilities. So far, however, solar activity remains low.

Solar Activity Report for February 1, 2012 from Spaceweather.com

FARSIDE ERUPTION: Sunspot AR1402, the source of last week’s X-flare and many beautiful auroras, is on the farside of the sun now. Although we can’t see it, the active region is still erupting. During the late hours of Jan. 31st, the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory observed this coronal mass ejection flying over the sun’s western limb:

The cloud is heading in the direction of NASA’s STEREO-Ahead spacecraft, which witnessed the explosion from directly above the sunspot. An initial inspection of the data suggests that no planets are in the line of fire.

If AR1402 hangs together for another two weeks, it will complete its transit of the farside and re-emerge on the Earthside of the sun. A return is unlikely, however, because sunspots rarely last for more than one solar rotation.

2012 — the enigmatic year we have all been waiting for. What is it going to take to pierce the veils of  mystery and bring the reality of 2012 into focus?

The number of precision alignments converging in Constellation Ophiuchus on January 20 as the Moon conjuncts her North Lunar Node presages the power of the coming Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon with authority.

When the Moon crosses the Ecliptic Plane from South to North she will be transducing a bolt of Solar System current from the Earth’s Zodiac Belt at the nodal point called Rahu or “the Dragon’s Head” before moving on to her next Nodal crossing on the following day. She will cross the Galactic Plane from North to South — the Dragon’s Tail — where a similar transduction process will occur but with the energy upgraded. This crossing point is a Galactic-Earth Lunar Node as it connects the principles of Luna’s nodal points with the fact that it is the Galactic Zodiac Belt from the Earth’s perspective that is being crossed.

Meanwhile, at the same time the Dragon Moon is crossing the Galactic Equator the Sun will be crossing a constellation boundary, leaving Sagittarius and moving into Constellation Capricornus. Sun and Moon will be on their respective constellation cusps at extreme opposite ends of Constellation Sagittarius for only some minutes — affording just enough time for a plasma arc to connect them both with the Galactic Spiritual Plane at the same time (the Center of the Milky Way Galaxy resides in Constellation Sagittarius) to imbue both Sun and Moon with Cosmic Spiritual Fire — not enough fire power to boil the blood or set anything ablaze. Just enough to bond them both to the same Spiritual ideals, goals, and benevolent intentions so their offspring have a good chance at being Rainbow Dragons.

We will watch the Solar Activity to see if the Sun has generated such an arc of Solar Light.

On the Chinese New Year the Sun and Moon will make an Egg the likes of which certainly the Earth has never seen before — maybe the Galaxy and the Universe too — and the Water Dragon will carry this Egg to term.

Reading the zodiac chemistry or most significant celestial DNA of the offspring in the Egg based on the conditions at conception and fertilization should not be difficult. What’s going into the Egg looks to be decidedly fe-male, serpentine, strong, and with attributes of Galactic Chiron which would include being a Rainbow Healer and Bridger, a wise sage and mentor with innate knowledge of the secrets of life and death — an immortal.

And here we thought all Ophiuchus was connected to was a doctor carrying a staff with a single snake wrapped around it.

There may also be twins in that egg, or two eggs, possibly one of each gender although the male may be more yin than yang. We will have to wait and see how it works out.

• This page contains ‘predictions’. The solar flare activity between January 19-23 seemed to come in pairs. See Solar Fire for the 2012 Chinese Water Dragon for details. 

As the air element is lacking, unless I have missed something the prediction is no wings. However, with Ophiuchus 5th Element Ether and Galactic Chiron DNA anything is possible.

There will be some plasma capabilities, but only as a last resort in case something like cosmic napalm is needed to deal with subsurface infestations. Laced with an Etheric healing agent we can see napalm-style possibilities for infusion of biological agents for regeneration of organic systems in the deep tissue layers of the planetary body. Remember this Dragon (or Dragons) is/are the Rainbow Healer(s).

Ophiuchus & the Dragon-serpent

Constellation Ophiuchus lies in the Dragon-Serpent sector of the Zodiac Belt. Galaxy Center is at the junction of Constellations Sagittarius, Scorpius & Ophiuchus

Our first Ophiuchus challenge for 2012 is to discover the continuing and sustainable relevance of Ophiuchus to the fact that  2012 is the Year of the Chinese Water Dragon.

Here is what your sky atlas will likely have to say about Constellation Ophiuchus:

The constellation takes its name from the Greek Asclepius, the master physician who never lost a patient to death. Asclepius could revive the dying and recently dead using soma or amrita, “the deathless drink,” said to reside in the blood or venom of a monstrous snake with dragonish features. Hades, god of the dead, angered at Asclepius’s filching of souls rightfully belonging in the Underworld, convinced his brother Zeus who did strike the mortal Asclepius down with a Thunderbolt for using powers reserved for the gods. However, Zeus placed Asclepius in the sky to honor him and to appease his father Apollo, calling the constellation “Ophiuchus,” which is Greek for “serpent holder.”

Constellation Ophiuchus was co-created by the Celestial Sphere and the International Astronomical Union who gave birth to it by cesarean section in 1930 from the fixed water sign of Scorpio.

• Ophiuchus Trivia factoid #1. In Ancient Greece a child delivered by cesarean section fell automatically under the protection and patronage of Apollo, Greek God of Light, Music & Medicine.

Between 1928 and 1930 the International Astronomical Union (IAU) decided for good and fair reason to dispense with the plethora of conflicting ancient star maps and create constellations to better serve the technical needs of modern day astronomy scientists by setting fixed boundaries around the star groupings, a job that was not ever going to be simple¹. Because it was the serpent holder star grouping and not the scorpion that occupied the lion’s share of the degrees of longitude along the ecliptic plane, IAU assigned 19 degrees of the zodiac belt to Ophiuchus and only as many degrees as constellation Scorpius actually occupied at the belt: less than 7 degrees.

Today Astrologers who understand the importance of research into the works of scholars are excavating  this new celestial site to see what they can find in the way of buried treasure. One of the most significant discoveries indeed represents that which at the most fundamental level constitutes the salvation of this world and its planet — the balancing and harmonizing return of Goddess.

Buried alive more than three and a half millenniums ago, the Minoan Serpent Goddess of Crete and other religious and cultural icons mark the grave of a long standing if not predominant goddess culture predating the Greek Dark Age in and around Crete and indeed elsewhere along the Phoenician trade routes that spanned the Mediterranean.

In terms of how the face of Goddess relates to Constellation Ophiuchus in particular, we observe first the simple body language of the Constellation (see sky map above), how its posture mirrors that of the serpent goddesses while it bears no resemblance to the images of the Greek Asclepius which show him carrying the famous Staff of Asclepius.

Compare these postures with the sky map of the constellation above. And then make mental note of this so whenever you see images of Hygiea, the Serpent Goddesses or Asclepius you can observe the body language. You will find the body language of the Divine Feminine is open while that of the Divine Masculine is closed.

We also note the zodiac sign of the scorpion (death-rebirth) which has been veiling constellation Ophiuchus these past thousands of years is elementally a water sign.

As such, this sign is energetically negative and therefore by extension predisposed by nature to a gender feminine presence. After thousands of years of male dominance, reclaiming the balance demands a thorough exploration of this question as long as we are in the process of discovering and uncovering information and perspectives on this new-to-us star grouping. We need full disclosure of the facts underlying this critical constellation-sign’s form and history. And then we need to do the right thing and escort Goddess to her rightful place in the sky, the one that was Co-created by the Cosmos and Humanity’s Astro-physical community.

Since 2011 transiting planets have been crossing the North Lunar Node — which is called Rahu or the Dragon’s Head. This condition will continue until early 2013.

During the January 2012 lunar transit of the North Lunar Node preceding the official beginning of the Chinese New Year the Moon will be collecting a last bit of 2011 Zodiac Dragon energy with which to set the tone for the Chinese Year of the Water Dragon 2012, filtered through Constellation Ophiuchus.

The Chinese Year of the Water Dragon will highlight the Divine Feminine.

In that connection the feminine ‘side’ of Constellation Ophiuchus – that underlying principle and element which has so long lain hidden beneath the layers of history, myth and legend written by the patriarchy to program humanity for the patriarchal age – will come fully alive, awake, and cosmically self-aware.

What might that look like in terms of change being brought to bear on us in 2012?

Constellation Ophiuchus took the upper hand in our Solar System in 2006 in a number of ways. One of those ways left planet Pluto, the Astrological non-sacred planet associated with, among other things, the criminal element in society, reclassified by the International Astronomical Union. The Zodiac Dragon’s Lair

Since we will all be living in the first-ever Chinese Year of the Water Dragon consciously contributed to by the Celestial Dragon in the Ophiuchus Fixed Water sector of the Zodiac Belt (described above), it seems important to talk a little bit about the dragon.

The Western equivalent of the Dragon may be Aries in the eyes of the source of the information I have copy-pasted here (see below), but based on the sky map I have shown you (see above), the Zodiac Sign of our local planetary Celestial Water Dragon in the eyes of the Universe is Ophiuchus.

Since Constellation Draco is indisputably the Zodiac Dragon and since Draco resides in the Ophiuchus sector of the Zodiac Belt, ergo now that Astrology has gone from a 2-dimensional pie chart to a celestial sphere, the Zodiac Dragon is revealed to be Ophiuchan.

Dragon Basics

The Asian Dragon in general tends to appear more serpentine than the dragons of the west. I’m not sure exactly what that means in terms of dragon type vis a vis Constellation Ophiuchus. But I mention it just the same.

Here is some information on the Chinese Dragon (since it’s the Chinese Water Dragon that is being celebrated this year) that you can use whether you are Ophiuchus or not. This will help connect all dragonkind with the Chinese Year of the Water Dragon 2012, the Zodiac Dragon which is Celestial, and the Celestial Ophiuchus Dragon which is a specific vibration of the Celestial Zodiac Dragon.

Types of Chinese Dragons

There are nine major types of Chinese dragons. These include the horned dragon, the winged dragon, the celestial dragon (which supports and protects the mansions of the gods), the spiritual dragon which generates wind and rain for the benefit of mankind), the dragon of hidden treasures (which keeps guard over concealed wealth), the coiling dragon (which lives in water), and the yellow dragon (which once emerged from water and presented the legendary Emperor Fu Shi with the elements of writing)

The last of the nine is the dragon king, which actually consists of four separate dragons, each of which rules over one of the four seas, those of the east, south, west, and north.

The most powerful generalized type of Chinese dragon is the horned dragon, or lung, which can produce rain and is totally deaf. Additionally, there is a homeless dragon (Ii) that lives in the ocean and another type (chiao) that is scale-covered and usually inhabits marshes but also keeps dens in the mountains.

There are also nine ways the Chinese have traditionally represented these dragons, each one revealing a different dragon characteristic. There are dragons carved on the tops of bells and gongs, because of the beast’s habit of calling loudly when attacked.

A second type is carved on the screws of fiddles, since most dragons are fond of music.

A third is carved on the tops of stone tablets, because of dragons’ love of literature.

A fourth is found at the bottom of stone monuments, as dragons can support heavy weights.

A fifth is placed on the eaves of temples, as dragons are ever alert to danger.

A sixth occurs on the beams of bridges, since dragons are fond of water.

A seventh is carved on Buddha’s throne, as dragons like to rest.

An eighth is placed on the hilts of swords, since dragons are known to be capable of slaughter.

The ninth is carved on prison gates, as these are dragons that are fond of quarreling and trouble making.

The colors of Chinese dragons are evidently quite variable, but in the case of the chiao type its back is striped with green, its sides are yellow, and it is crimson underneath.

The nine major characteristics of a lung type dragon include a head like a camel’s, horns like a deer’s, eyes like a hare’s, ears like a bull’s, a neck like an iguana’s, a belly like a frog’s, scales like a carp’s, paws like a tiger’s, and claws like an eagle’s. It has a pair of large canine teeth in its upper jaw. The long, tendril-like whiskers extending from either side of its mouth are probably used for feeling its way along the bottom of muddy ponds.

In color dragons vary from greenish to golden, with a series of alternating short and long spines extending down the back and along the tail, where they become longer. One specimen had wings at its side, and walked on top of the water. Another tossed its mane back and forth making noises that sounded like a flute.

Cow-heads are also common. A ten-footer, found lying on the banks of China’s Yangtze River, was different from most because of its long, thick eyebrows. A Yellow River variety, seen on shore in the 1920s by a Chinese teacher, was bright blue, and as big as five cows. Both dragons crawled into the water as soon as it started to rain.

A few dragons begin life as fish. Carp, who successfully jump rapids and leap over waterfalls, change into fish-dragons. A popular saying, “The carp has leaped through the dragon’s gate,” means success, especially for students who have passed their exams.

Male dragons sometimes mate with other species of animal. A dragon fathers an elephant when he mates with a pig, and he sires a racehorse, after mating with a mare.

THE WOOD DRAGON 1904 AND 1964

Wood has a modifying influence and brings creativity to this sign. Questioning and liberal, Wood Dragons enjoy talking about original ideas and are open to other points of view. The Dragon’s originality is the most impressive and outstanding of all his characteristics. The Dragon is quite imaginative and always able to see new paths where others may run into brick walls. High expectations

The reason why it was able to warp around the Sun unscathed is that the Sun drew in its energy field just as the Sungrazer was passing by.

USA intentionally birthed & aligned with the Stars

The original architects of the USA’s charter documents were Master Freemasons. Vega is one of the stars in particular that the Master Architects and Builders used to align the USA’s power cities, streets and monuments.

Thomas Jefferson’s famous Monticello was particularly aligned to constellation Lyra and its Alpha star Vega. I will publish alignment maps in a future article as we get closer to the dates.

The July 4 date on which the Declaration of Independence was signed made the USA a Gemini nation both in Sidereal Astrology and in the true sky.

Freedom is a colossal bronze standing figure 19½-feet (6 meters) tall and weighing approximately 15,000 pounds (6,800 kg). Her crest peaks at 288 feet (88 meters) above the east front plaza of the U.S. Capitol. She is a female allegorical figure whose right hand holds the hilt of a sheathed sword while a laurel wreath of victory and the Shield of the United States are clasped in her left hand. The heraldic shield is the same as in the Great Seal of the United States, with thirteen stripes, except that the chief has stars (again, thirteen). Her chiton is secured by a brooch inscribed “U.S.” and is partially covered by a heavy, Native American-style fringed blanket thrown over her left shoulder. She faces east towards the main entrance of the building because that was the original main entrance to the U.S. Capitol building. She wears a military helmet adorned with stars and an eagle’s head which is itself crowned by an umbrella-like crest of feathers. Freedom stands atop a cast-iron globe encircled with one of the national mottoes, E pluribus unum. The lower part of the base is decorated with fasces and wreaths. Ten bronze points tipped with platinum are attached to her headdress, shoulders, and shield for protection from lightning.

Design

A monumental statue for the top of the national Capitol appeared in architect Thomas U. Walter’s original drawing for the new cast-iron dome, which was authorized in 1855. Walter’s drawing showed the outline of a statue representing the goddess Liberty; Crawford proposed an allegorical figure of Freedom Triumphant in War and Peace.

Crawford was commissioned to design the Statue of Freedom in 1854 and executed the plaster model for the statue in his studio in Rome. Mississippi Senator and Secretary of War Jefferson Davis (who would later become President of the Confederacy) was in charge of the Capitol construction and its decorations. According to David Hackett Fischer in his book Liberty and Freedom, Crawford’s statue was…

…very close to Jefferson Davis’s ideas in every way but one…. Above the crown he [had] added a liberty cap, the old Roman symbol of an emancipated slave. It seemed a direct affront to a militant slaveholder, and Jefferson Davis exploded with rage. The northern sculptor and the southern slaveholder had already clashed over a liberty cap in the interior decoration of the Capitol.

Davis sent his aide, Captain Montgomery Meigs, with orders to remove the cap, saying that “its history renders it inappropriate to a people who were born free and would not be enslaved”. A military helmet, with an American eagle head and crest of feathers, replaced the cap in the sculpture’s final version. (Today many casual observers take the statue, with its eagle and feathers, to be an American Indian.)

Introducing Rosa

Rosa is not an ancient Skull, she is modern day artefact from the workshop of Master Skull Carver, Raven in the USA. She is carved from Rose Quartz from the Black Hills of South Dakota. This gives her a close connection to the Native American Sacred energies of the Lakota.

Rosa came to me several years ago. I met her first in a dream, and I knew that she would come to me and that she was meant to work with me! She told me that her name was “Rosa”. I began looking. I knew that she was a fair sized Skull and since I live in South Africa where Crystal Skulls are not common, I wondered how she would come to me!

I started to write to people who knew Skulls and described her as I had seen her. Several people sent me pictures that were close, but just not “her”. Then, I was looking at some images of Skulls by Raven and saw one that was very close, but was much smaller. I wrote to his partner, Ravenia, explaining my dream and asked her if she had anything else. She said she would look, and a few days later sent me an image of a Skull that she felt wanted to work with me. It was Her!

At that stage, I was struggling financially and I had no idea how I was going to afford her. Ravenia kindly offered to exchange her for a channel with Archangel Michael, and my beautiful Skull came to me. I was so grateful!

I still remember when she arrived and I opened the box and felt her powerful energy as we merged our energies. I had expected to start working with her right away, but it was not to be. For several years she sat on my altar, waiting for the right time. When I started to travel I did consider taking her with me, but she always declined politely.

Now, however, at the Solar Eclipse in July and the activation of the “Rose Line” energies in 2011…Rosa has come online. She is ready to work with me in the Sacred Spiral of Cosmic Wisdom and the Circle of Power.

Early November 4, 2011

X-FLARE: Big sunspot AR1339 (described below) unleashed an X2-class solar flare on Nov. 3rd at 2027 UT. A movie from the Solar Dynamics Observatory shows the extreme ultaviolet flash. The flare created waves of ionization in Earth’s upper atmosphere, altering the normal progagation of radio waves over Europe and the Americas. FYI Spaceweather News reported this as an X-2 Class Solar Flare. SOHO reported it as an X-1.9

In case anyone out there is keeping track of 2011 X-Class Solar Flares besides me let me again point out that – using the UTC time given and Stonehenge as the default location – ALL X-Class solar flares so far in 2011 feature Constellation Ophiuchus rising, setting, at Due East or Due West.

This one features Due West at the Heart of Ophiuchus. Also please note the current active Sunspot number is 1339. 39 is a multiple of 13 (not to insult anyone but 39 = 13 x 3).

The famous Step Pyramid was built at Saqqara on the West Bank of the Nile River.

Judging by the Aussie accent of the narrator in the above movie, the “November 4″ X-1.9 Class CME being reported is probably the same one reported by Spaceweather News as an X-2 on November 3, 2011. I checked SOHO – so far there are no Solar Flares recorded for November 4. At the UTC date/time of this event, it would have been ‘tomorrow’ in OZ.

September 24, 2011 – update

SATURDAY X-FLARE: Behemoth sunspot 1302 unleashed another strong flare on Saturday morning–an X1.9-category blast at 0940 UT. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded the extreme ultraviolet flash:

The movie also shows a shadowy shock wave racing away from the blast site. This is a sign that the blast produced a coronal mass ejection (CME). The CME isn’t heading directly toward Earth, but it might deliver a glancing blow to our planet’s magnetic field in the days ahead. Stay tuned for more analysis.

September 24, 2011 – the early a.m.report

CHANCE OF FLARES: New sunspot 1302 has already produced one X-flare(X1.4 on Sept. 22nd), can another be far behind? NOAA forecasters put the 24-hour probability at 20%. The sheer size of the active region suggests the odds might be even higher than that:

Each of the dark cores in this snapshot from the Solar Dynamics Observatory is larger than Earth, and the entire active region stretches more than 100,000 km from end to end. The sunspot’s magnetic field is crackling with sub-X-class flares that could grow into a larger eruption as the sunspot continues to turn toward Earth. Happy Equinox!

No significant Solar Activity has been reported yet today. Here’s an interesting comment though from the folks at Spaceweather News:

X-flares of Solar Cycle 24: There have been only a half-dozen X-flares since the beginning of new Solar Cycle 24. Here is a complete list so far, all in 2011: Feb. 15 (X2), March 9 (X1), Aug. 9 (X7), Sept. 6 (X2), Sept. 7 (X2), Sept. 22 (X1). Before these six, the previous X-flare occured on Dec.14, 2006, (X1) during old Solar Cycle 23.

Since that’s all the Solar Activity we have to work with today on September Equinox, I guess I had better milk it for all it is worth. Any bets on what we will find? No?

The “Nadir” is the bottom of the sky. This energy transaction pictures the alignment of Constellation Ophiuchus Consciousness (all three levels of it) with the Mundane Earth Star Chakra. Because the alignment involves the Moon we infer the Divine Feminine is the ‘side’ at work here. The Caduceus/Angel of Healing/Goddess Ophiuchus is indicating the Celestial Earth Mother is Sacred Ground. This may be a new development. According to Alice Bailey & Djwhal Khul, Earth as of their time was not a Sacred Planet.

The Due North direction on the Native [North] American Medicine Wheel is where the Elders sit. We face the North when we want to give Thanks.

So far every single X-Class Flare of 2011 has aligned itself in some way with Constellation Ophiuchus when the UT time is viewed from Stonehenge.

Do we see an emerging pattern here? Is this some sort of Cosmic Morse Code¹ or what?

Daily Sun: 22 Sep 11

MAJOR X-FLARE: Earth-orbiting satellites have detected a long-duration X1.4-class solar fare coming from a new sunspot on the sun’s eastern limb. The blast, which peaked at 1100 UT, produced a significant CME, but the cloud is not Earth-directed. [SDO movie] [STEREO movie]

AURORAS UNDERFOOT: Solar activity is picking up, and no one has a better view of its effect on Earth than the crew of the International Space Station. During a geomagnetic storm on Sept. 17th, astronauts recorded a must-see movie of auroras dancing underfoot:

Taken over the southern Indian Ocean, the movie spans a 23-min period from 17:22:27 to 17:45:12 GMT on Sept. 17.

Note how the underbelly of the space station glows green from the reflected light of the auroras below. Also, in the distance, Sirius the dog star and Orion the Hunter can be seen rising feet-first into the night sky.

The storm, which registered a moderate 6 on the 0-to-9 K-index scale of geomagnetic disturbances, was caused by a coronal mass ejection (CME) hitting Earth’s magnetic field. It was just a glancing blow, but with CMEs that is often enough to spark bright auroras over both ends of Earth. The space station was flying over the southern hemisphere at the time of the display. Observers in the northern hemisphere saw it too.

A similar storm could be in the offing this week. Another CME is heading toward Earth, and it appears likely to deliver a glancing blow on Sept. 22nd around 23:00 UT. Sky watchers above and below should be alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text,voice.

MAJOR X-FLARE + CME UPDATE: Earth-orbiting satellites have detected a long-duration X1.4-class solar flare coming from a new sunspot on the sun’s eastern limb. Using data from the SOHO-STEREO fleet of spacecraft, analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab have modeled the trajectory of the CME and concluded that the body of the cloud will not hit Earth.
