The Alabama State University community was saddened early Saturday morning to hear about the unexpected passes of one its own,  Miss Julia “Peaches” Player. However, after news of her passing Peaches was still fighting for life, sometime after noon it was announced that Peaches was breathing and doctors were doing all they can to save her life. Family, Sorors, and Friends turned their sadness into prayers & optimism. But ultimately, God called Peaches home. Her passing was announced a little after 2:00PM.

Please give you hearth felt prayers to Peaches’ family as they prepare to deal with this tremendous loss.

Sadly, I personally was not there to witness this moment due to job obligations, but it only added to my disheartening when I heard the news. This ladies and gentlemen is a piece of Civil Rights History, and I can only envy those of you who where there to partake.

If you are like me and did not get to witness this event, I have embedded the coverage from WSFA 12 News here in Montgomery, AL and CNN.

I admit, I am not actively involved in each of these opportunities. Reason, I chose a few that I know I would fit into my own lifestyle and available free time. So, with that in mind look at each option and choose a few that best fits you.

• Sponsored Tweets

If you use twitter, then I would suggest joining Sponsored Tweets. You get paid to tweet advertisements. You set a predetermined price you will charge per tweet; companies, organizations, and even other individuals will locate you based on your price range and offer you what is called an “opportunity”. The more followers you have, the higher price you can ask for. You have full control of what offers are tweeted by you. Why not get paid to do something that requires little effort on your part and it’s already something you’re doing for free — this makes Sponsored Tweets a great opportunity.

• RevTwt

RevTwt is in the same mold as Sponsored Tweets, you get paid to advertise. However, the difference between the two, you get paid so much (usually cents) each time a link you post is clicked. Where as, Sponsored Tweets pays you a set price. Also, you are not limited to Twitter, you can post to other places around the web i.e. Facebook. Be aware, clicking or having your friends clicking the links over-and-over again will surely get you banned. RevTwt monitors activities such as this. So, don’t think you’re going to tweet an ad, go to your web browser and go on a “clicking spree” — it won’t happen! In addition to getting banned you will also lose any revenue you currently have made.

• Betweeted

The new kid on the block who’s trying to get a part of this twitter mania; BeTweeted is just like RevTwt, you get paid by clicks. Betweeted, at the time of this post, does not have as nearly the amount of advertisers RevTwt has, but from the mania twitter has developed, that will probably soon change. So check them out also.

• BigSpot.com

BigSpot offers those a chance to make some money by expressing their opinions by taking online surveys. Surveys are usually from companies who are interested in certain demographics who use their products, so they can make more appealing products. Occasionally, you can also receive surveys from the BigSpot website that will earn you some cash. I can’t personally, give my opinion about BigSpot, because I’m not a member; however, for those of you who do signup please comeback and comment about your experience with BigSpot.

• Dealfer

Chances are your circle of friends usually have the same interest as you. So, if you buy items online for great deals, chances are pretty high your friends want those same deals to save a few bucks. So, why not get paid for telling your friends what great deals you found? That is exactly what Dealfer does, pays you for sharing great deals you find with your friends.

• LogoMyWay

This one is for the graphic artist, or group of artist. LogoMyWay is like the middle man who connects the individual/organization who would like to have a logo designed with a capable artist. This would be ideal for those who are art majors. But, you will need to be able to interpret the artwork into a digital art program like Adobe’s Photoshop &  Illustrator or any program of the like.

• RentACoder

In the same fashion how LogoMyWay connects clients with artists, RentACoder connects clients with all sorts of IT suppliers. Know how to write computer/web programs? Search RentACoder for clients looking for a developer, place a bid and you could possibly win the contract to complete the job. These jobs can range from about $10 to thousands of dollars. To optimize the potential & revenue possibilities this site can offer, try teaming up with a few others around the community and work as a team to complete some of the bigger projects that offer greater payouts.  RentACoder is not just for programmers, there are many people seeking individuals to do all sorts of computer related projects like: data entry, write papers, create flash documents, video/sound editing, etc. etc. If it can be created/modified on a computer, chances are you’ll find a client on RentACoder willing to pay you for time and work.

• Guest Posting on Blogs

This type of article you are reading right now, including various other types, is the type of content many websites are willing to pay individuals for. The internet has has created an extraordinary avenue for people to express ideas, share resources, and give advice, just to name a few. I see many people on Facebook, writing to their heart’s content on topics that interest them, and most of it is their own opinion. Find a website/blog that focuses on an interest of yours, then contact that site’s admin to see if there is an opportunity to do a guest post for the site. If you have never done any publications before, you may have to do a few post for free. Then judging from your post success you could very easily leverage yourself to get a payout for your content. In addition, it could lead to others websites contacting you for a guest post.Here are two links to help you get started:
