Remember, we are not leaving Eugene!  We have our other cafe located at the corner of Hilyard & 24th near the Very Little Theater and Roosevelt Middle School.  Be sure to come visit us!

Because we knew a lot of you will be coming to our Hilyard & 24th location, we ramped up the crew and remodeled the inside this week!  Closing at 2pm Monday - Thursday (11/5-11/8) we repainted the inside and installed our lovely pallet boards and canvas picture frames.

First let's look at our Before Images.

We really wanted to lighten up the space because it looked small and dark, so we started by painting some of the walls and the ceiling white.

We have some talented people!  Here's a rendition of Nintendo's Yoshi eating a Goomba!  The abstract lines of this piece really pulls at the philosophical meaning of life.  Truly one of a kind! 


Working diligently, we covered the purple sections of the cafe in black to give a strong juxtaposition to our white walls.  Here is Robert working on the edges, detailing them around the window and pillar.


Once the painting was completed, it was time to get to the pallet wood.  Here is Billy making sure his cuts are on the mark!

With the help of Julie sorting the pallet wood pieces, and Billy cutting and nailing into place, this remodel went very quickly!


Meanwhile, Robert was placing our canvas photo frames on the walls.

We stopped to look at our coffee plant and noticed we had out of season coffee berries growing on it!  How cool is that!

And finally we were finished!  Look at that front counter!  Amazing!

We are excited and proud of the mini transformation of this store, and we look forward to seeing you!  This location is not finished being remodeled though.  We will be making changes to our chairs, tables and lighting in the coming week, as well changing our food choices and retail displays in the next couple of weeks.

We started our remodel on August 31st, by spray painting the ceiling black.

 



We then cleared out the cafe furniture and started painting the walls.

















Meanwhile we had an expert come install a new floor!






Once we got the floor it was time to bring the new counters in!  These were made custom for us with a sealed top to bring out the beautiful natural colors of the recycled pallet wood!






Our guys had to do some modifications to the metal framework, and slapped on the plywood after making some precision cuts!








Meanwhile, back at our main office in Albany - We took the old condiment bar and gave it a huge makeover!










While that was happening, our team was hanging the recycled pallet wood.  It took 102 recycled pallets to finish this location.  Wood on the walls, top/sides of the new counter, on our retail shelving displays, and on our condiment bar.








We moved our beautiful Victoria Arduino, VA358 White Eagle espresso machine to the counter where she can be seen in all her glory.  Look at that crystal clear reflection!






As the remodel was getting close to finish we started our canvas hanging and furniture/retail placements.























We're also excited to open with 2 new products!  Tsunami Energy Drinks
Tsunami took the 2018 People's Choice Best New Product award at Coffee Fest Los Angeles - we loved it too and quickly brought it to our Campus location before the university term starts.



Try one of the many offerings!



And the other new product is our Empanadas!   Perfect for the Grab-n-Go student looking for a hot meal between classes.  We have several kinds to choose from including Spicy Chicken, Ground Beef, Green Chili, just to name a few.



We reopened on Sept. 17, 2018 - and we're super excited about our new look at the Campus location.  If you're ever in the area, swing on in.  We're at 2541 NW Monroe St, Corvallis, Oregon.  We hope to see you soon!
