One, I've settled down well enough to be more or less rest assured for the coming semester(even if the internet here is horrible) and two, yes, I'm still not in prison, to the dismay of some, I would imagine In short, I've been down and out for the past couple of weeks, but I regained the will to carry on due to an unexpected act of Doing It Right™ by Australia, or at least the state that concerns me, now recognises the third gender. In what could've turned out be one of the biggest blunders in anime business history, Kyoto Animation originally wanted K-ON! to be a serious slice of life anime , Naoko Yamada has revealed.

Speaking in an interview with Newtype, Kyoto Animation director Naoko Yamada revealed that the the team has wanted to create ℳℴℯ❤shit anime - without relying on plot, characterization, good animation and the like - for years, but senior management held them back.

"With Clannad, we were dead set against it being yet another good, deep anime," Yamada told Newtype, "but the board of executives really wanted it, the compromise sort of being that we'd get some funding in exchange for doing good, meaningful anime.

"We always wanted to do ℳℴℯ❤shit anime and the board of executives saw us as more of a good, deep animation studio," he said.

"And something I'll add to that, Kyoto Animation also did not want K-ON!. They thought working on a ℳℴℯ❤shit anime was risky and [thought], 'oh my god you can't do that, it's crazy!' They were doing market research to show us we were wrong the whole time," he said.

"We had to fight for everything," chimed in K-ON! project lead, Yukiko Horiguchi. "They wanted it to be drama. Again."

Of course the Kyoto Animation's risk in letting the K-ON! team go against the surveys paid off massively, and K-ON! ended up shifting over 41,000 copies.

"It just blows us away(knowing how retarded the otakus are). I'm still reeling from it," Yamada said of the success.

As So Ra No Wo To looms over the horizon, I personally cannot wait to see what other Kyoto Animation influences are going to trickle down onto A1's next production. Just as how Kannagi had a Haruhi-esque OP sequence, So Ra No Wo To has identical character designs to K-ON!, which is no surprise why this show has been dubbed the latter's sequel(prequel?) and Valkyria K-ONicles, among other dubious titles made to link the two shows together.

The story takes place in an imaginary town Seize. A long war brings a gradual decline to the world. People disappear from the town and fishes cease to exist in the sea. In this quiet world, five girls guard a fortress and play brass vividly.

The plot sounds about right for a serious military themed series, with humanity trying to recover in the aftermath of a war, up until the last sentence; Even if it has the director who's done shows that include Baccano and Elfen Lied onboard with Kalafina doing the OP, it's hard to shake off the whole K-ON! feel to the show if you going to go with this guy's art, coupled with a plotline that will see the girls forming a band...

Not too long ago, a (formerly) classified blacklist of banned websites made its way onto the internet, which was in fact the precursor to a legislation that would see Australia implementing internet censorship at a scale which would pretty effectively cripple the way a lot of us, and by us, I mean people like me browse the web.

Rather than targeting specific sites and content, in which CP has always been the primary concern, Lawful Evil Internet Guardian Stephen Conroy saw fit to expand the filter to block out anything listed under the Refused Classification category, which is essentially a blanket term for questionable content, which includes, among others, fetishes.

Ordinary Internet users here are freaking out already as it is, but for the otakus, this no different from pulling the plug on the chronically ill, since a lot of otakus such as myself are kept alive with ℳℴℯ❤ fetishes and the like being constantly injected into our bloodstream via permanent intravenous therapy I shudder at the inevitability where I wake up one day to find (especially) 4chan, imageboards and other anime/manga related sites shut out before me. I always knew I would succumb to death by ℳℴℯ❤, but with the way things are unfolding right now, I would sooner die by deprivation of.

Just saw the second part of Rebuild of Evangelion in the cinema yesterday.

If you ever had any negative impressions concerning how gloomy and pessimistic (as well as mindf*ckingly confusing) the original TV series was, you can throw that all away now.

For Anno Hideaki has kept true to his word and delivered a totally different and satisfying "reimagining" of the Evangelion story.

For starters, Shinji is actually less wimpy and more GAR. He seemed more in control of things than his pathetic TV counterpart ever could.

Rei is now showing more humanity and is assertive than before (arguably even more than Nagato Yuki, bar Yuki in Disappearance of course   ).

And Asuka (now Shikinami Asuka Langley) is less angsty, making her less annoying and more likable.

And the new girl, Makinami Mari Illustrious, she's pretty much won over me now. (Being voiced by Sakamoto Maaya helped) Though her screentime was shorter than thought. Hopefully it'll increase next episode.

Pardon me on my random mumblings below as I try to recall what I just saw. Needless to say, IT'S FULL OF F*CKING SPOILERS.

Needless to say, some basic knowledge of Evangelion is still needed before watching this, at the very least, watch Rebuild 1.0. Or else you'll most certainly end up like a blind nun in a fish market.
