Coach Moreno adjusted the formation, bringing Sammy Lettes into the midfield. From the ensuing restart, Lettes picked up a loose ball and was fouled 35 yards from goal. Phillips stood over the free kick with the season on the line. It was a moment for senior leadership: senior Phillips dropped the ball perfectly on the 6, directly in front of charging seniors Lettes, Brian Sloan and Christopher Howard.
