It was a very raw basic photo shoot for us few photographers and I was the only newbee one among them. Learned few new things about lighting and found out that camera flash is the photo killer and should not be used for any in-house shootings.

Awesome documentary by none other than my one of favorite scientists Richard Dawkins. It poses some very critical and basic questions to the religious clergy. Must watch stuff for people with open mind and broad views. Highly forbidden for religious extremists and fundamentalists.

From Beirut to Bosnia

Watched this documentary last night. It has 3 parts which covers different ethnic, racial, religious issues occurring to Muslim world like Israel-Lebonan, Israel-Palestine, Bosnia-Serbia and Egypt hardcore Islamist issues. It was filmed in 1993 and still relevant to current global affairs. Robert Fisk did cover aspects of both sides and covered pretty much everything unbiased. It was kind of depressing to see all those Palestinians and Lebanese suffering, seeing their homes destroyed and loved ones getting killed by Israeli sniper shots.

Somehow, after watching I was trying to trace the root cause of this whole mess and came up with the reason of religious fundamentalism on both sides of the issue. Is religion supposed to make such panic, chaos and suffering? Is this what religions are for? Why one religion followers hate others? Is religion such a mess and a problem itself rather than solving social problems? Is religion more important than humanity justifying killing of innocent people just for the sake of going into a heaven (which none has seen and explained)? How people put their religious belief on such zealous priority to ignore the basic human rights? Why secularism is considered such a taboo in the conflict zones? There are so many other such questions like those which I believe can not be answered by someone thinking through the religious perspective and views.

I consider myself a humanist and condemn anyone who assumes any religion as the basis of killing spree.

Watched this wonderful, amazing, incredible and awesome documentary. It explains the whole system of universe giving birth to galaxies and blackholes out of dying stars. It takes the viewer to such a huge distance (trillion billion of light years) to show us the moment of big bang. An AWESOME documentary and must watch for astronomy lovers. I lost comprehension of time and space many time while watching it and had to pause it many times to gain back the focus to understand this whole grandeur process of universe.

Darwins Secret Notebooks

Watched this great documentary last night. It puts the story of Darwin as how he came to discover the concept of Evolution and Natural Selection. Must watch stuff for everyone who loves and UNDERSTANDS Science. It covers the journey Darwin embarked on studying different species on South American coast lines. He found species of birds showing similar instincts and found same birds from different regions/areas having different beaks thus confirming the idea of living organisms able to change/adapt themselves suiting their environment. Also he observed mountain formation by the tectonic plates movements explaining how geography may have been changing by the forces of nature along the huge time lapse. Considering all natural forces working gradually in a very long period of time have given the earth its present face.

Nice treat for science lovers.

Came across this news that MS has restricted MSN Live Messenger access to people from US embargoed countries (Iran, Syria, North Korea and Cuba). Though this is not a confirmed news but below is the source. If its true, US will create more hatred for herself and MS will loose messenger market to Yahoo and other better options.
