Know Your Worth

There is nothing like a woman with confidence. There's a noticeable strut in her walk, her head is perfectly erect on her spine, her smile is contagious and her gorgeous persona beams from miles away. Knowing who you are; loving yourself internally as much as externally-accepting the mature growth you have mentally, physically and emotionally is a phenomena many wish to obtain but only few gain.

In a society where health isn't celebrated on the same caliber as plastic surgery, botox and hideous-trifling views on life, it makes it easy to look past the individuals who take care of themselves and dress appropriately for their size. The ladies posted above are considered "plus size", in my opinion they are "heroes"! Heroes for being themselves and dressing correctly for their size. Often we see women with blessed curvaceous figures wearing clothing that is too small or too tight. It draws the eye to their 'imperfections' as we all have them. Just think about it this way, would you buy a bra two sizes smaller then your cup size? If you said no, its because for 1) It would be uncomfortable, 2) Your breast will spill out of your clothes making you look like a tramp, and 3) Your bra and breasts would show tackily through your clothing.

In many cases, women don't know their true cup size. Listen, there is a Victoria's Secret all over the world, and other women retail shops willing and able to whip out a measuring tape to provide you with the correct measurements for your cup size. If you don't feel comfortable with a stranger collecting your measurements, make a trip to your nearest Wal-Mart and purchase a measuring tape for less than $3.00 and have a family/friend collect the data for you. There are many websites published with the correct way of measuring as well.

The picture above is a great guide for the next lesson: the lesson is if your waist is small and your hips are wide then horizontal stripes is best for your body type. If you have an A-shape frame then vertical stripes are better for your physique. Why may you ask, the answer lies in geometry.

When Women Dress their Age...

Along with having an enormous amount of self-assurance/confidence, a woman knows her style. Now, the women posted blow; Lopez, Kardashian and Cavalier are not consistent for this snippet of an article; however, they more so dress their age than any other celebrity.

There is nothing like seeing an older woman wearing hot pink bows in her hair, a pink belt, lace socks and cropped jean jacket; as I witnessed on a random shopping trip--God I wish I had my camera ready. The lady clearly looked over the age of 25 and she was dressed like a teenie-bopper from the '80's. It was comical and sad. Sometimes, when children are deprived of their childhood in any fashion, especially dressing in a means to express themselves, they tend to subtract 15-20 years from their senior and don horrific ensembles. I will be sure not to halt my daughter from fashion expression, unless its too bizarre. So, the point of this article is as such: Embrace your age, love yourself and dress appropriately.

Could you imagine if everyday was like stepping into a new page of an illustrious-creatively detailed novel? Well, if you lived in Tokyo, your imagination would be a reality. I'm sure it is very entertaining to know you will see outlandish means of expression by a person's ability to channel irreplaceable style on a daily basis; however, I'm not sure how well these styles of over-the-top expression would do in America, then again, Gwen Stefani just unveiled her collection of Harajuku inspired clothing for children at Target. I'm guessing the collection is projected to do very well as it is selling in one of America's largest chains; my favorite by the way.

Recently, on my weekly trip to Target, I noticed the collection and it was very cute, stylish and unique. I'm waiting for my daughter to get a little older before I purchase any of the collection because each piece comes with an accessory like leg warmers, gloves, etc that really ties the outfit together and makes it stand out from the rest.

I am a new fan of a fabulous over seas fashion website, TokyoFashion.com. This site is bookmarked on my iMac and I plan to visit it daily for inspiration. The pictures posted are from TokyoFashion.com, the official website keeping us Americans in the loop of fashion extremities. Enjoy

Louboutin a.k.a. Red Bottoms. What is really the obsession with these over priced pumps, boots, oxfords--shoes? Is it because celebrities aren't spotted without a pair of red bottoms that makes everyone want to own a least one pair? Seriously, these shoes are not that darn special. Who in their right mind would pay over $100.00 for a pair of flats? Apparently quite a few people as the flats posted above are nearly a whopping $1K. Insanity is not a strong enough word to describe this type of fashion robbery. Is it that these shoes are beyond comfortable-where you can rock the heels all day and feel as if you're walking on cloud 9?
