The Avenue Peachtree City and local band The Venus Kings have teamed up to host a series of FREE First Friday concerts. 

From March through October, this series will bring the Peachtree City community together for live music, dining and entertainment, all in one location.

The concerts will start at 7:00 p.m. on each monthly date and last roughly to 9:30.

You’re invited to grab dinner or a drink on site, and enjoy a free night out with friends and family. 
Find the concerts happening at Central Park within the Avenue’s shopping district. 

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and dress for the weather!

 There will be food trucks on site, nearby restaurants will be open, or you can bring a picnic meal.

You’re welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.

You’ll be dazzled by the work of professional chalk artists who will transform the pavement into mind-bending 3D illusions and stunning masterpieces.

Downtown Duluth’s open container policy

Duluth has a liberal alcohol policy with an open container policy.
During Fridays-N-Duluth events, you can carry an alcoholic beverage with you, as long as it was purchased from licensed downtown merchant. So swing by a local restaurant and grab a cocktail when you arrive!

FREE Comic Book Day will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 — in accordance with its usual date of the first Saturday in May.

All together, 24 comic book titles will be up for grabs at the comic book industry’s most anticipated annual event.

You can browse the titles and covers online.

In the past, guests have been invited to choose up to six FREE titles from those available.

Titles come from well known comic book publishers , including:

• Dynamite Entertainment

The titles are designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes.

FREE Movie Mondays at Norcross Cultural Arts Center

Chase away those Monday blues with a FREE movie!
The second and fourth Mondays of each month are MOVIE MONDAYS in Norcross.

The free screenings take place at the Cultural Arts & Community Center, located at 10 College Street in the downtown Norcross business district.

The movies are a mix of classics and current films, shown both at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

There is usually free popcorn and water available, and you’re welcome to bring snacks, treats, or a brown bag meal.

We’ll update this page as titles are scheduled and the info becomes available to us.

You can get also 2 hours of FREE parking in the Red, Purple, or Green parking decks when you arrive for these classes.

The class meets each week at 6:30 p.m. on the Plaza Green when there are no other events taking place.

Pre-registration is required. 
Be prepared to scan your ticket upon arrival.
Drop-ins will only be accepted if space restrictions allow — and you’ll need to complete the registration form on your phone.

Gwinnett County has announced the dates for its monthly food distributions, for all of 2026.
These events rotate among the Gwinnett parks, and are designed as drive-thru events.
The food will be placed in your car for you. 

No identification is required. 
Each event begins at 3 p.m. 

Fresh produce and shelf-stable foods are provided at these events. 

Supplies are given away on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last. 
Keep in mind that cars may begin lining up early.

Colony Square invites kids and parents to enjoy Colony Kids, a recurring monthly play date in 2026.

Events take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month, April to October, in The Plaza, which is the green space at Colony Square.

You don’t need a ticket or reservation, and you don’t have to attend the entire event.

A new crop of Signature Events is lined up for 2024 at Colony Square.

From April 4 through October 28, you can enjoy FREE outdoor experiences, including comedy shows, family friendly playtime, fitness classes, film screenings, and live concerts. 

The events include (click thru for details!):
Yoga on the Square  — weekly outdoor yoga classes each Wednesday night
Movies on the Square — monthly outdoor film screenings on first Thursdays
Groovin’ on the Square — weekly live, outdoor concerts each Friday night
Braves on the Square — baseball viewing parties on select dates from May to Sept.

The Oakhurst Neighborhood Association is hosting the 2026 season of Oakhurst Jazz Nights! The FREE sunset concerts will feature some of the best jazz artists in the Southeast.

They take place on Thursday nights in April and September — which are two of the best months to spend time outdoors in Atlanta! 

The concerts are FREE and open to the public. They take place on the lawn in front of The Solarium, in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur.

If it rains, the concert moves inside The Solarium.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
The schedule is just below.

Blankets only and low-back chairs only — no high-back chairs.

Know before you go…

You’re welcome to bring picnic blankets, but please do not bring lawn chairs.

Children are welcome, but the organizers request that they be well supervised. Please be particularly mindful of the plantings and landscaping around The Solarium, so nothing is trampled.

While the concerts are free, you can upgrade your experience. For an elegant front-row view of the concert, you can reserve a candlelit table for $25.  Each table seats up to four and comes complete with chairs, fresh linens, and a custom candle-lit centerpiece.

The Marietta Square First Friday Art Walks are back for 2026.

This community event features local art, live music, and other performances — along with a chance to shop, dine, and experience all the local flavor of the Marietta Square.

The First Friday Art Walks are FREE self-guided strolls of the Square’s galleries, museums, cultural venues, restaurants, and other venues. They take place every month, between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. on the first Friday of each month, rain or shine. 

During the monthly Art Walk, each participating shop or venue hosts a local artist outside its storefront in the Marietta Square. It’s a great way to celebrate Marietta’s diverse cultural arts scene and showcase local artists and performers.

Shops, boutiques, and galleries stay open late on First Fridays. The evening comes alive with music, dance, and visual art.

The Marietta Square is an open container district

In the fall of 2020, the Marietta city council passed an ordinance that created a designated entertainment district, which allows you to carry and consume alcohol outdoors.

The ordinance means you can stroll around the district sipping beer, wine, or a cocktail that was purchased from a restaurant or bar with a valid liquor license.

As with anything else, there are rules you must follow, however.

Here’s what you need to know before you go:

• Drinks will be 12 ounces or less, and served in a clear plastic cup.
• The district boundaries are Polk Street on the north; Marietta Parkway on the west; South Marietta Parkway on the south, and Atlanta Street/East Park Square/Cherokee Street on the east.
• Glover Park is NOT included in the district — so you can’t enter the park with a drink

The city of Cumming will host a series of outdoor summer concerts in 2026.
They are FREE to attend.

Concerts begin at either 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. and last roughly two hours.
They take place at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater, located within Cumming City Center.
The concert schedule is just below — covering March through October.

Parking is FREE.
Coolers and outside food are not allowed.

The city of Tucker will host FREE live music on the first Friday of each summer month, from May thru September, in 2025.

Each concert starts at 7 p.m. at the Church Street green space and will feature a different artist. The space will open at 5:30 p.m. so you can set up your blankets or chairs and enjoy a picnic meal. 

A food truck will be on site for each concert.
If you bring your own snacks or drinks, please note that no glass is allowed. No tables are allowed either.

Please don’t bring your pets!

There is also a FREE music series, Tunes by the Tracks, that takes place every Friday in May, June, September, and October — in the Stone Mountain business district. Just click thru the link for the complete schedule!

The post Tucker’s First Friday FREE concert series features Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, this week appeared first on Atlanta on the Cheap.

The 2026 edition of Tucker Day takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., along Main Street in downtown Tucker.

You’ll find a parade, vendor booths, live music by local artists, an interactive Kids Zone and more. Admission is FREE.

The “human-powered parade” travels down Railroad Avenue and up Main Street. You can participate and walk in the parade, as long as you register ahead of time.There will be prizes for best costumes and more.

The Kids Zone includes rides, games, and activities, plus an all-day scavenger hunt.

There is also live music all day on three stages.
The headline act in 2025 is Lilac Wine, on the First Avenue Stage.

Michael C. Carlos Museum: free admission days and ticket discounts

The Michael C. Carlos Museum has the largest collection of ancient art and artifacts in the Southeast — including objects from ancient Greece, Egypt, Rome, Africa, and the ancient Americas. 

This is the only place in Atlanta where you can view Egyptian mummies. You’ll also come face to face with Greek and Indian deities, African ritual masks, and artifacts from the Americas.

The Carlos Museum is also a real bargain as Atlanta museums go, with some of the cheapest admission prices in town. It is located on the Emory University quad.

The Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University is located at 571 S. Kilgo Circle, Atlanta.

Museum hours:

• Tuesday thru Friday — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Saturday — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday — noon to 5 p.m.

• Adults — $8
• Seniors, students, and children age 6-17 — $6

As a reminder, those with a membership to the Carlos Museum members always get in free.

Anyone with a valid Georgia library card can check the Family Pass out from almost 400 participating libraries across all 159 Georgia counties. The Family Pass admits six guests for FREE.

Sunday Fundays

Sunday FUNday is a free drop-in program for all families and includes admission to the galleries.

On each Sunday of the event, there is special programming, including stories, crafts, etc. from noon to 4 p.m.

No registration is required.

The program runs during the academic school calendar only.

31 Days of Jazz is a kickoff event to the Atlanta Jazz Festival, which happens each Memorial Day Weekend in Piedmont Park.

All month long in May, there will be jazz performances in restaurants, bars, parks, concert venues, arts centers, and MARTA stations throughout Atlanta.

We’re highlighting the jazz concerts that are either FREE or cheap ($10 or less), but the 31 Days of Jazz also includes ticketed events that range from $25 to $80 per person.

Our list includes events and you-pick farms that are within an hour drive from downtown Atlanta (we used Woodruff Park as our central starting point).

If you live in the far suburbs, you probably have more choices within an easy drive, because many berry farms are in north Georgia or south of town, near Macon. Below, we’ve listed a couple of other sources you can check for berry farms farther outside metro Atlanta.

REMEMBER: Farm hours and crop availability are highly variable  — depending on the weather and all kinds of other factors. It’s best to either call ahead, or check status online through a berry farm’s website or Facebook page

Super Spring Saturdays at Washington Farms

Featuring more than 30 different farm activities for families — including petting zoo, playground, jumping pillows, gem mining, cow train, bubbles, climbing wall and more. Admission for these Saturday events is around $15.

The strawberry fields will also be open for picking from mid-April till the berries are gone.

Ecosystem Farm

This is the only strawberry farm we know of that’s not only inside the Perimeter, but within the Atlanta city limits. It is less than 8 miles from downtown Atlanta, in South Atlanta, in the 30354 zip code.

This is a no-spray, organic farm that allows you to pick your own berries by appointment only, starting in mid-April.

FREE Music in the Garden concerts

The concert series, Music in the Garden, is FREE to attend and open to the public.

Music in the Garden takes place at the screened-in pavilion, which is a bit of a walk from the parking area. The concerts are rain-or-shine, unless the weather becomes unsafe.

There are several FREE concerts on select Sundays in the spring and fall.
Concerts begin at 2 p.m. and last about two hours.
Performers are local musicians who donate their time and talent.

There is a limited amount of on-site parking at Woodlands Garden. When the lots are full, you can use the off-site parking options listed online.

It’s been called Atlanta’s “most spirited and eclectic” street festival, and it’s our personal favorite here at Atlanta On The Cheap. The Inman Park Festival takes place each year during the last weekend of April — which is Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th in 2026.

As always, this year’s Inman Park Festival includes a Tour of Homes — see the details below.

Admission to the festival, including the parade, kids’ zone, and the live entertainment, is always FREE. There is plenty of food for sale on site. As always, the marketplace is a big draw, allowing you to shop for arts, crafts, vintage items, and more.

Inman Park Festival 2026 hours

Friday, April 24th:

• Tour of Homes preview — noon to 4 p.m.

Saturday, April 25th:

• Tour of Homes — noon to 4 p.m.
• Festival hours — 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Vendor booths close at 7 p.m.)
• Parade — 2 p.m.
• Music — noon to 8 p.m.

Sunday, April 26th:

• Tour of Homes — noon to 4 p.m.
• Festival hours — 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Music — noon to 6 p.m.

Know before you go…

Due to a city ordinance, no animals (other than service animals) are allowed on festival ground. PLEASE do not bring your pet and expect an exception.

There are porta-potties and ATMs on site.

Bicycles and scooters are not allowed within the festival grounds, but there are several bike valets where you can safely park a bicycle (more info below).

There is very little parking in the Inman Park area.
If you thought Dogwood Festival parking was tough, consider that this old neighborhood has none of the multi-level parking decks that are common to midtown.
TIP: See our section on “Getting There” below.

Street Vendors

As always, the vendor booths are a festival highlight.

The Arts & Crafts Market is a jury-selected group of more than 100 artists, who will showcase their work in various art forms.

The Street Market is home to over 250 vendors selling antiques, handcrafted wares, clothing, and a large variety of other items.

The Community Corner booths are local organizations offering information — and swag!

Inman Park Festival parade

This crazy-eclectic parade is an Atlanta favorite!
It is quirky, unstructured, and downright fun. We think it’s the best parade in Atlanta.

The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, in the area of Edgewood and Spruce Streets. It heads northeast on Edgewood, turns left on Hurt Street, then makes a right onto Euclid Avenue, ending at the Community Center. 

You can view the parade route online.
The best viewing is along Edgewood Avenue, in our opinion. But then again, we’ve never watched from Euclid Avenue or Hurt Street.

Live musical performances — including Shawn Mullins in 2026

There are three music stages at this years festival:

• The Delta Park Stage — Near the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Delta Place. Delta Park is a small greenspace that is bisected by Edgewood.
• The Freedom Stage — On the edge of Freedom Park, near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and Waverly Way.
• The Euclid Avenue Stage — At Euclid Avenue where it intersects Springvale Park.

A highlight in 2026 is an appearance by Shawn Mullins.
He will perform on Saturday night at 6:45 p.m. at the Delta Park Stage. 

The music starts at 11:45 on Saturday and at 12:30 on Sunday, with bands switching up about every hour.

Kids’ Zone

A dedicated play space in Springvale Park includes not only the existing park playground, but special activities and crafts. Entertainment will be Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

According to the website, the “Little Gnome Zone” will feature giant inflatables, face painting, and a preschool area for the toddlers.

There will be a special K-Pop Dance Party on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. 

Tour of Homes

If you love to peek at the lives of others, you’ll adore this inside view of intown living. The tour is self-guided and you can set your own pace.

Home Tour tickets are $35.
If you buy online, fees and taxes are added.
You can also buy onsite — there will be a ticket table at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Elizabeth Street. Tickets on site are $40.

Your ticket is good for all dates — Friday thru Sunday — but you can only enter each home once during those dates.

Most years, historic Inman Park Methodist Church is on the tour, and is open to the public, no ticket needed. If that’s the case again this year, don’t pass by without going in! You can even ring the church bell.

Bonus — follow the route of the original 1972 Tour of Homes for FREE!
Yes, you can retrace the original walking tour from 51 years ago!
This is a free, self-guided walk that you can do anytime at your leisure.
PLEASE remember that these homes and buildings are NOT open to the public and you cannot enter them.
This aspect of the festival was added in 2022, for the home tour’s 5oth anniversary.

Getting there and parking

You can NOT bring a car into the Inman Park neighborhood on festival weekend, and you can’t park at the nearby business establishments. PLEASE leave the car at home! There are plenty of good options for getting to the festival, and we have them all listed here.

By bicycle

If you live intown, consider coming in by bike — but remember, you can’t bring your bike into the crowded festival area. 

The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is providing free, secure bike parking in three locations:

• the intersection of Alta Avenue and Euclid Avenue
• the intersection of Waverly Way and Elizabeth Streets
• on Edgewood Avenue, between Waddell and Krog Streets

Remember, you can take your bike on a MARTA train.

By foot

One of our favorite tricks is to park for FREE at the Carter Presidential Library.

We then cross Freedom Parkway and walk through Freedom Park to get to the festival. It’s less than half a mile to the nearest edge of the festival grounds — no more than a six to ten minute walk.

If you live along the Beltline’s Eastside Trail and don’t mind a longer walk, it’s an easy path take the BeltLine to Irwin Street, which turns into Lake Avenue, which turns into Austin Avenue — which leads right into the festival.
Scooters are also an option!

By Uber or Lyft

You can be dropped off just outside the festival area.

It might be trickier being picked up on your way home — we recommend getting outside of the crowded area and waiting for your driver by a landmark s/he can find easily..

By MARTA

Seriously, folks, this couldn’t be easier.
The Inman Park MARTA Station is right at the edge of the festival grounds — no shuttle needed.

If you’re riding the Green or Blue Line, it’s a straight shot on the train, and you don’t have to transfer.

If you’re on the Red or Gold Line, you’ll need to change trains at Five Points Station, but you can handle that, right? See MARTA’s guide to navigating Five Points Station, if you find it confusing.

Alternatively, you can drive to a nearby MARTA station on the Blue/Green Line (Candler Park, Avondale, or East Lake) and park, then take MARTA just a couple of stops. Just be forewarned that parking at the stations fills up fast on festival days.

There are two exits at the station — take the one for Inman Park (not Reynoldstown). When you exit MARTA, generally you can just follow the crowds to the festival (there are also signs pointing toward Inman Park.

TIPS

• Remember that trains only run at 20-minute intervals on weekends. To time your trip so you’re not waiting, we recommend the MARTA on the Go app.
• Buy your MARTA fare in advance, to avoid lines at the machines at the stations. You can also add fare online if you already have a Breeze Card (and why wouldn’t you?)
• Kids under 46″ tall can ride for free with a paying adult.

The post Free Earth Day Celebration at Ponce City Market on April 25th appeared first on Atlanta on the Cheap.

Illumine is an annual after-dark arts event that takes place at Oakland Cemetery this spring.  It happens on select nights from April 16 to 26, 2026.

Illumine is one of those events that’s hard to explain. It’s a self-guided experience spread across the cemetery grounds, using light, shadow, sound, and projections to create an experience and tell a story. We’ve attended the event in the past and thoroughly enjoyed it.

You’ll see dozens of artistic displays throughout the cemetery, including lanterns, light-boxes, illuminated headstones and mausoleums, and projections of archival images and film. The cemetery’s gardens and oldest trees become part of the light show as well.

Illumine will also feature live music, craft cocktails at pop-up bars, and an Oakland pop-up shop.

Things to know

The events take place on select nights in April from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

First entry is at 7:30, but this is an evening event, and you’ll be able to enter until 9:30 p.m. If you do come in before sunset we strongly encourage you to stick around until after the sun sets (around 8:15).

The events sell out quickly, so it’s best to buy an advance ticket online.

Advance tickets are $25 for adults; and $15 for kids (age 4-17), and $20 for seniors. 
Add $5 to those prices if you buy at the gate.
Children 3 and under and FREE.

The Spring Jonquil Festival returns to the Village Green in downtown Smyrna! The festival will take place on Saturday, April 25th and Sunday, April 26th, 2026. 

Admission is FREE and this is a family-friendly event.

Here’s what you can expect in 2025:

• an arts and crafts market with 175 booths
• 20 food booths
• entertainment stage with live performances
• multiple beer gardens
• children’s activities
• puppetry performances by Peter Hart of Atlanta Puppetry

Live acoustic music:
Scott Thompson will be performing songs you know and love on the Veterans Memorial Grand Lawn, adjacent to the food court. Bring a blanket, relax, and sing along!

Kid zone:
There will be a wide variety of inflatable slides, bounce houses, games, and much more. Note: In past years, some of these activities have been free while others have required tickets.

Saturday 10 a.m to 6 p.m.
Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

The Spring Jonquil Festival is located on the Village Green in Smyrna’s business & entertainment district.

If you need an address for your GPS, use 200 Village Green Circle, Smyrna, GA 30080.

You can find parking around the Market Village, behind City Hall and the Smyrna Public Library, and at the Smyrna First United Methodist Church parking lot (Saturday only).

Strangely enough, there is also a Fall Jonquil Festival — even though the jonquils and daffodils are long gone by October.

Eat, drink, and be merry at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, returning to Fairburn, GA, from Saturday, April 11th to Sunday, May 31st in 2026.  This is about a 30-minute drive from downtown Atlanta.

The festival is open on Saturdays and Sundays, plus Memorial Day Monday.
Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., rain or shine.
Parking is FREE.

There is quite a bit to do at the Georgia Renaissance Festival and it is a family-friendly event with plenty for the kiddos. It’s a rain or shine event, so dress accordingly and pack ponchos and umbrellas if the forecast leaves any doubt.

There is food and drink (with a Renaissance theme!) available for purchase. You’ll also find plenty of entertainment and an artisans market for shopping. If you’re interested in special themed weekends (pirates, fairy tales, wizards, etc.), you can see them here.

NOTE: The Festival announced they have reduced daily capacity in 2026, so some dates may sell out more quickly than you expect.

Admission
Prices in 2026 are on a tiered system — there are Value Days, Standard Days, and Peak Days, ranging from $25.95 to $32.95 for adult tickets. 
You’ll pick your ticket date on a calendar and see the price that day before you check out. 

Children’s tickets range from $13.40 to $1950, depending on day.
Kids 5 and under get in FREE.

You must buy your ticket online —  there are NO gate sales this year.

Dunwoody’s annual Lemonade Days festival returns in the spring of 2026 for it’s 26th  year!
The five-day event will happen from Wednesday, April 22 thru Sunday, April 26, 2026.

Lemonade Days Festival hours:

• Wednesday — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Thursday  — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Friday — 4 to 10 p.m.
• Saturday  — 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Sunday — noon to 6 p.m.

Admission to the festival is FREE, but you’ll want to drop a few bucks on food and activities.

The festival location is Brook Run Park, in Dunwoody.

Lemonade Days features 30 full-scale carnival rides.

On Wednesday and Thursday, unlimited ride wristbands are $25.
For the rest of the festival, the price is $35.
Wristbands are good only on the day of purchase.

Individual ride tickets are $1.25, but each ride requires more than one ticket.

In addition to the carnival rides, you’ll find 20 food and beverage vendors, three days of staged performances that include the popular Dunwoody Idol contest, a 5K run, a petting zoo, pony rides, an antique car show, arts and crafts for sale, and more.

This weekend, the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Amphitheater comes alive with the breathtaking magic of Shakespearean theater — showcasing a vibrant production of Richard II.

All performances are FREE and open to the public.
This event takes place outdoors. 
In the half hour leading up to the play, there will be a musical performance.

At the amphitheater, bench seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attending this show is more than just a chance to enjoy incredible local theater, it’s a celebration of creativity and performance art.

Roswell Moves is an open streets initiative, similar to Streets Alive in the city of Atlanta.
On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, come out to downtown Roswell to pedal, roll, or stroll, as Canton Street is closed to cars and open for outdoor fun!

Admission is FREE, of course.
This is a chance for North Fulton residents to explore the community on foot or on wheels.

Along the way, you’ll find live music on multiple stages, sports demonstrations, and interactive displays.

Roswell Moves runs from noon to 3 p.m.
There is a family bike parade at 11 a.m. sharp.

Canton Street will be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 4  p.m. that day.
The sections of Canton Street that will be used include the south end of Canton Street from Webb Street and Elizabeth Way to Norcross Street; and the north end of Canton Street from Norcross Street and Plum Street to Woodstock Road.

Many of the businesses in the Canton Street corridor will engage with the community through promotions and special events.

The annual Taste of Marietta food festival takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026 on the Marietta Square. (It’s always the last Sunday in April.)

This is the most sensibly priced tasting event we know of.
Instead of paying for expensive tickets upfront, you get FREE admission to Taste of Marietta — and then purchase as many “tastes” as you want on site, paying between $2 and $10 for each one.
Note that you pay at each booth — there are no food tickets at this festival.

The festival hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
More than 50 restaurants and food trucks are participating.
Beer and wine will be for sale throughout the festival.

You can scroll through a long list of participants on the event website.

This is a family-friendly event, with a Kids Alley for the little ones to play in. It typically includes activities like moonwalks, games, sand art, face painting, inflatables, and more. Note that some of the activities have a small fee.

And of course, music rounds out the experience.
In addition to the festival, you can visit the shops and museums around the Marietta Square.

If you’ve ever visited the Marietta Square, you know that parking can be a challenge. Here’s what you need to know.

You can park for FREE at:

• The Cobb County parking deck (enter on Waddell Street, the cross street is Hansell St. )
• The Mill Street parking lot (cross street: Denmead St.)

The county court lots are also available, but these are privately owned and parking fees will apply.

PLEASE do not park at any of the nearby churches — their lots are for their parishioners, and Sunday is their busy day.

Taste of East Cobb

This one-day food festival highlights local restaurants every year on the first Saturday in May. Admission is FREE and tasting tickets are $1 each. Food items require anywhere from 1 to 5 tickets. Acworth Dragon Boat Festival

Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta

Be Greek for a day! In typical years, this annual event takes place on the weekend following Mother’s Day each May. It features cultural experiences including authentic food, crafts, music, and dance.

There are special activities for children as well.
The Byzantine style sanctuary of the church is often open for guided tours.
