Gone Krazy! Layout

This past weekend, the Pride of Baltimore Chorus had their annual show. For once I am on top of things and finished my scrapbook layout of the show.

This is just a short clip on how I put together the title for the layout. I had filmed more, but the sound got all messed up. Leave a comment if you have any questions about the finished layout.

Why I Started Making Earrings

Kristin disappears for almost an entire year. Her whole blog is based on scrapbooking, and card making, and all things paper crafting. Why on earth did she decide to start making earrings?

As some of you already know, I have become addicted to singing Barbershop harmony. My boyfriend introduced me to it a couple years ago and I haven't been able to stop since. At the moment, I am a member of Sweet Adeline, International and sing with the Pride of Baltimore Chorus and a brand new quartet, Just Sing!

As much as I love this "hobby" . . . err lifestyle, it can get pretty expensive. I thought to myself, "I'm pretty crafty, I bet I could make the quartet earrings and we could save money that way." Well once I started trying some ideas, I couldn't stop. I love trying new things with the wire and seeing what comes out. If you look really closely at the picture you can see the purple and black earrings I designed to match our walk around outfit.

I hope this helps you bridge the gap of why I am now making and selling jewelry. I am still paper crafting and as soon as I get my new crafting area up and running we will return to the regular programming of minis and tags and pages, too. And maybe I even have something up my sleeve on how to bridge the gap between the two. There will be a few more announcements coming in the next couple of weeks, stay tuned!

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! I hope there are still a few of you out there. I've been missing for quite a while, which I'm sure you've noticed. So here is an update of what has been going on in my life.

I graduated college with my Mechanical Engineering degree
I got a contract position at DuPont in Wilmington, DE
I moved from Rochester, NY to Wilmington, DE
My contract for DuPont ran out
I am now searching for a job

As you can tell, it's been a busy year. I miss my crafting and now I'm ready to get my life back into balance.

Yesterday, I spent most of the afternoon helping a friend with crafts for her wedding. Her reception is Las Vegas themed so there are a lot of fun crafts to make. Instead of a guest book, there is going to be a photo booth and pre-made scrapbook pages to put the photos onto. I brought my Cricut and made some tags and other fun things for the pages as well as some nice cut outs of their names and date for the wedding to add to projects.

I also am starting to design jewelry, starting with earrings. It originally started with making earrings for my Sweet Adeline quartet for competition (this really big and shiny) and I started making some smaller ones to wear everyday. I will be selling them on my Etsy site and through my blog directly. Just send me a little message if you want a specific color.

Here I am, back and ready to get my life back into order. Hope all of you are well and I'll hear from you soon.

Music Thank You Card

Here is the "Thank You" card I made for the guy who wrote the tag (ending of a song) for one of the songs for my quartet. I made the "Thanks" with the Hannah Montana Cricut Cartridge. Using the music font created the word on the music staff.

Simple Wedding Card

Hey everybody! Sorry I've been MIA recently. Classes are crazy, only two more weeks! Ridiculous! And my quartet is competing tonight and I am so excited. Hopefully I'll have pictures to share with you. All the ones I've gotten so far are either poor quality or I look ridiculous. Anyway, this weekend we are going to a wedding for my boyfriend's good friend from high school. I made a very simple 12"x12" scrapbook album for them as well as this simple wedding card.

I used the Cricut Sweethearts Cartridge for the silhouette. I outline the the die cut with a white jell pen. The patterned cardstock is from K&Company and the ribbon is American Crafts.

Paper Pantry April 2010 Tag Swap

This is my first tag swap with Paper Pantry. The theme was "Spring has Sprung." I decided to go with Purples this time instead of green (though I did attempt to use a green base at first). Here is a video of me creating the tag, hope the music is better this time. =) Enjoy!

Craft Room Organization - Cricut Cartridges and Stamps

Thanks to all you wonderful ladies (and guys) out there sharing all of your ideas on YouTube and blogs on organization. I am not the most organized person, but I love when things are organized. Organizing takes so much time. I will be moving at some point this summer. I don't know where yet, it'll be where ever I can find a job. The point of this story is that I bet I will finally get my new craft room all organized and then I'll have to pack it up and move. *tear* Anyway, thanks to everyone again. Here is how I have organized my Cricut cartridges and my clear stamps. I love both systems and would highly recommend them.

Another Haul, Yay!

Here is a video of my haul that I got from the Addicted to Scrapbooking sale last week. I would highly recommend ordering from them. I spent the little bit extra for priority shipping and got my package the next day. I couldn't believe it! Also, there is the gorgeous tag that Misty sent me from Keepin' it Scrappy. Chocolate and Wine Tour Pictures

To digress slightly from my crafting, I want to share pictures from the Chocolate and Wine tour I went to Valentine's Day weekend. We made it to all 30-some odd wineries in two and a half days. It was a lot of fun!
