Triple black is the first colourway we have, the most minimal of the three. Things are kept very subtle, with everything from the Converse star motifs on the lateral and medial sides to the stitching all over the shoe being kept in black. A slight colour change comes via the material utilised for the upper, which is Cordura – the same material Carhartt utilises for its backpacks, which tells you all you need to know about it’s durability. On top of being wear-and-tear resistant, it’s also a very water-resistant material, making these a great go-to shoe for the winter ahead.

Next up we have the two more standout colourways of the three, an olive green and white/off-white. The olive pair really embodies Carhartt’s whole aesthetic, being a perfect autumn/winter colour and evoking that rugged vibe we love the brand for. The white pair is clean as you like too, featuring lovely changes in tone on the laces and midsole, plus a vibrant orange outsole providing the perfect pop of colour to liven things up.

The branding and finishing touches complement the style of the shoes very well throughout. Each colourway features a military-looking Carhartt stamp on the tongue and sockliner, plus a very subtle Spec No. on the lateral side of the midsole. Cordura’s signature label has been attached to the side of the tongue as well, and finally, a ring just like those found on Carhartt bags and accessories has been added to the heel, which doubles up as a functional pull tab to help you get the shoes on.

Kicking things off with the CONS release, Converse’s star skater Sean Pablo has invigorated the scene in recent years, bringing his unique skate and fashion style that has helped him develop a cult following. It only makes sense that he would now be rewarded with his own signature Converse CONS shoe, and it was always going to be the CTAS Pro Hi. Sean’s got his hands on an Enamel Red/White pair and a traditional white with blue/red trim pair, and added black doodles all over them. Anything and everything has been included, including a cool spider’s web on the toecap, a grim reaper on the lateral side, and a rose on the medial side. The same graphics are present on both the red and white pairs, so it’s just down to you to choose which colour you prefer!

There’s very few pairs left over on our website at the moment and in-store, but you might just get lucky!

As for the collection by adidas and Numbers Edition, it’s every bit as nice as you’d expect from the two brands. Both have quite an understated style to them, and that shines through with this drop. Nubuck leather has been used across the upper, which offers great durability when skating, and also on the black tongue, which further enhances the premium appearance of the shoe. Adidas’ signature Three Stripes come in leather, and also feature the Numbers “12:45″ logo printed on them in black. Adding two lovely pops of colour are the reflective tabs running up the heel and tongue, and the awesome translucent white sole.

The tracksuit matches the low-key style of the shoes, opting for a basic colourway and clean branding. The half-zip track jacket has been elasticated at the wrists and waist to provide a more streamlined fit, and two zip pockets at the front offer secure storage. Football-inspired Three Stripes logos run from the outer chest across the arms in black, standing out just enough against the grey backdrop. The jacket has been made using a woven fabric which is highly water repellent as it is, but adidas have taken things a step further and added a DWR too, making the jacket virtually impenetrable.

The tracksuit bottoms follow the same method of the jacket before it, again coming in a woven water-repellent material to protect you against the elements. Again like the jacket, a mesh lining has been added inside to enhance breathability, and two zip pockets have been added at the front. Diagonal Three Stripes logos run from the waist around the outside of the legs in black, and finally, the ankles have been elasticated for a streamlined fit.

Staying true to the original form of the Killshot, a full leather upper has been utilised, offering great flexibility and durability – the perfect combination for skating. Stitching has been recessed in a variety of areas to reduce the likelihood of the shoes blowing out, and the tongue features a thin layer of padding to improve comfort. As can be gathered from the title of the shoe, Nike SB’s classic Zoom Air pod features in the heel of the sockliner, providing excellent cushioning. The shoe also features an autoclave construction, improving durability significantly. Nike has opted for the classic herringbone pattern on the sole, which offers supreme traction when skating.

As far as the colourway goes, things have been kept minimal – and to great effect. The large Swoosh normally associated with the Killshot has been switched out for a smaller Jewel Swoosh, which comes in red to match the Nike SB logo on the tongue and the shoe’s internal lining. Hockey’s smashed logo features in red on the heel, complementing the overall aesthetic of the shoe very nicely, and the sockliners also feature custom Hockey graphics.

The day kicked off with the Men’s preliminaries, which decide who moves on to the final later in the evening. Across five hotly-contested heats, a host of names including Ishod Wair, Mark Suciu, and Sean Malto all fell to the wayside as trailblazers including Gustavo Ribeiro and Trent McClung brought their absolute A-game to advance to the Finals. The Finals lineup was very interesting, with only one American skater present and four non-SLS pros, proving that it all comes down to what you produce on the day. Kelvin Hoefler came flying out of the blocks with a 9-scoring run, and Ivan Monteiro and Trent McClung were close behind with 8.6 and 8.4 scores respectively. Yuto decided to absolute destroy the course, though, racking up back-to-back 9-scoring runs to take the lead. As if that wasn’t enough, he then decided to throw down a nollie 360 switch back tail for ANOTHER 9-club score, and from there things were pretty much a formality. Yuto claimed the victory, with Vincent Milou and Kelvin Hoefler close behind in second and third respectively. An amazing event overall, and with any luck, SLS will be returning to London very soon. First up we have the jerseys from Brazilian Rodrigo Teixeira and American Miles Silvas. Rodrigo visibly takes inspiration from the past jerseys of his home nation, with the gorgeous blue colour being a standout back at the 2002 World Cup (just think of that Ronaldinho lob against Seaman). Artwork designed by Gonz creates a grid effect all over the jersey, and one of his doodles features in the centre of the chest. Setting things off nicely are the white stripes that wrap over the shoulders, and the ribbed neck which features an added yellow and white trim.

Miles’ jersey has a real retro vibe to it, taking inspiration from Germany’s 1994 home and away kits (Germany had some absolute gems back in the ’90s). A largely black base is offset by a wild pattern around the neck and shoulders, with jagged shapes in red, white and sky blue all overlaying each other. A lovely addition to this jersey is the slightly thicker collar, which features clean white “adidas” text. Finally, an adidas Trefoil features on the right of the chest, and a Gonz-designed foil logo ever-present in this collection has been placed on the left of the chest.

Next up we have the offerings from our very own Blondey McCoy and another USA skater, Tyshawn Jones. Blondey’s top, pictured on the left above, takes a slightly different approach to the rest of them. Instead of developing a standard-style soccer jersey, Blondey’s produced a red drill top, reminiscent of age-old goalkeeper and training kits. A plain colour scheme has been utilised to keep things old-school, with a red backdrop offset only by black “adidas” text and Trefoil on the front and “Blondey 1″ text on the back.

Tyshawn’s jersey is pure class, with an image we’ve seen a lot recently taking centre stage on the lower torso – that of his dog. Woven into the jersey in green, the portrait matches the green stripes that run across the chest and down the sleeves very nicely, and adidas’ Trefoil logo comes in white on the chest. The Gonz-designed logo also appears on the chest, and capping things off are the two-tone neckline and “Ty$hawn 98″ lettering features in white on the back.

Another jersey on the more understated side is Marc Johnson’s one, pictured on the right above. Taking strong cues from Lucas Puig’s Spain jersey from two years ago, Marc’s gone for a simple monochrome colour scheme, with a white collar and matching white Three Stripes down the right sleeve adding a nice touch of class. An adidas Trefoil has been placed on the chest, and the Gonz-designed logo present throughout the collection appears on the left of the chest.

Daewon Song has also been honoured with a jersey this time around, and himself and Gonz have done a fantastic job with it. A grey backdrop provides a nice base for the paint-smear graphic on the chest to stand out, along with the Gonz artwork that wraps around the waist. Much like the Rodrigo jersey, adidas’ Three Stripes wrap around the shoulders on this occasion, in tonal grey, silver and blue colours, very in keeping with the rest of the jersey.

Kicking off with Paradis3, the two heavier arrivals in the collection are the Friendship Sweatshirt and Angels Hoodie, on the left and right above respectively. The Friendship Sweatshirt has been very well received here at Attitude, featuring an iconic image of Michael Jackson and E.T atop a cosy black sweatshirt with a soft, fleecy lining. “Paradise” text runs just below the portrait image on the chest in white, taking nothing away from the graphic. The Angels Hoodie comes in an awesome bright orange colourway, one that will shine bright in the sun this summer. As can be seen by the logo on the left wrist, Paradis3 has used Champion blank hoodies on this occasion, guaranteeing a high level of craftsmanship. On the chest we’ve got black screen printed “Angels watching over me” text, with outlined angels placed either side of it. The text pops very nicely against the bold backdrop.

Champion’s heavier offerings this season offer a more simplistic alternative to the ones offered by Paradis3. On the left above, we’ve got the Reverse Weave Hooded Sweatshirt in Olive Green, and on the right above we’ve got the Reverse Weave Zip Hooded Sweatshirt in Black. Both feature very minimal branding, with Champion C logos added to the left wrists and left of the chests. White drawstrings let you adjust the fit of the hood in both cases, and ribbed sides offer improved breathability. The only real difference in the two is the black hoodie featuring a zip and the olive hoodie not, so it’s down to you which style you prefer. The “Reverse Weave” in the title of the hoodies indicates that these are part of Champion’s highest quality apparel range – you’ve really got to get them in hand to understand how class these are!

Two of the t-shirts from Paradis3 are pictured above, the Mime T-Shirt in Light Pink on the left above, and the Can’t Touch This T-Shirt in Natural on the right above. Both have been made solely using cotton, providing a soft and comfy t-shirt that will pose no problems when you skate. The Mime T-Shirt features a spooky black graphic of a mime artist, as well as subtle “Paradise” text below it, and the Can’t Touch This T-Shirt features an awesome Nike Air graphic depicting Michael Jordan’s iconic Jumpman logo, but with Bart Simpson’s head instead. Just the usual tongue-in-cheek stuff from Paradis3!

Champion’s t-shirts are just as high quality as the hoodies before them, and this season we’ve got a Grey Reverse Weave T-Shirt and an Azure Blue Reverse Weave T-Shirt (there’s also a hoodie in the same blue colour, too). Both t-shirts have been made under Champion’s Reverse Weave branch, signifying a high level of quality in terms of stitching and fit. The necklines on both have been ribbed for comfort, and small C logos have been added on the left sleeves as well. The standout features, though, are of course the C logos on the chests of both t-shirts. Champion could have taken the easy option and screen printed them, but instead, both logos have been intricately embroidered, providing a more vivid colour and a more premium appearance overall.

First up we have two of the five pieces of outerwear in this collection – the Racing Jacket, which comes in Navy, and the Lewis Track Jacket, which comes in Grey. The former has been made using a polyester satin material, giving it that familiar satin shine that will dazzle in the spring and summer. On the left side a beige stripe and a white stripe run from the shoulder down to the waist, and a zip pocket has been added to the right for storage. The zip system at the front makes the jacket very versatile, and the collar design enhances its smart and sleek appearance.

The Lewis Track Jacket is a must-have this summer. Night and lightweight thanks to a polyester shell and lining, the jacket won’t slow you down at all during the hot months, and is highly water resistant too which is always useful considering the British summer’s unpredictability. Elasticated wrist cuffs and raglan sleeves offer improved functionality, and subtle branding comes in the form of a taped logo that wraps around the middle of the jacket.

Onto what might just be the standout piece in the collection, the only shirt offering this season comes in the form of the Clouds and Birds Shirt. Featuring a gorgeous blue backdrop with pale blue clouds and pink birds floating across it, the shirt’s 100% rayon build makes it lovely and lightweight, offering a breathable and non-restrictive fit. A pocket has been added to the left of the chest, and a revere detail has been added to the collar for that ultimate summer feel.

Taking things back to basics this season is the Basic Logo Sweatshirt, coming in an Orchid pink colourway this season. In usual Stussy fashion the sweatshirt has been made using a blend of cotton for thickness and polyester fleece for a soft, cosy lining. Double-needle sewing has been utilised on all seams to reinforce them, and the wrists, neck, and waist have all been ribbed to provide a more comfortable fit. Stussy’s Basic Logo has been added to the back and front in black, popping very nicely against the vivid pink backdrop.

Naturally, t-shirts come in abundance this season, and two of the highlights are pictured above – the Bold Stripe Jersey on the left in Cream, and the Live Clean T-Shirt on the right in black. The striped jersey has been cut from a premium cotton, with blue and brick-red stripes running across a cream-coloured backdrop. The neckline is ribbed for comfort, and a chest pocket and small black Stussy tab have been added for good measure.

The Live Clean T-Shirt utilises a more typical Stussy approach, with a small Stussy text logo featuring on the chest and a larger graphic screen printed on the back. The graphic depicts Stussy’s iconic broken crown graphic, sitting on top of  a white-filled United States and a subtle red/yellow/green Africa. “One world, one love, one blood, we’re all in it together, live clean” text arcs around the aforementioned print, a message that’s very important given recent world events.

We’ve jumped onto Stussy’s accessories in a major way this season, too – the Stock Premium Socks and Stock Dot Tote Bag are just two of the new arrivals. The socks are very high in quality, featuring a combed cotton, polyamide and elastane build for fantastic comfort and stretch. The white colourway is nicely broken up by black Stussy logos and trimming, and if this isn’t the colourway or logo you’re after, there’s many more to choose from on our website and in-store.

The Stock Dot Tote Bag is perfect for the summer, being large in size (height: 38.5cm, width: 47cm, depth: 11cm) and coming in a gorgeous cream colourway. A sturdy canvas material has been used, so you can be confident that the bag won’t break on you any time soon. The Dot logo features on both sides with white Stussy text running on top of a black base and pink/orange/blue stripes.

The shoe boasts a full supple leather upper, offering a great level of flexibility and featuring perforations all over to offer maximum breathability. The latter is also enhanced by the internal mesh bootee that lets air run through it very nicely, whilst also guaranteeing a very secure fit. The biggest radical change in design compared to traditional skate shoes is the removal of the laces, made redundant by the aforementioned bootee and replaced by perforations. Another fascinating change with the shoe is the complete removal of any Three Stripes logos, which keeps the upper looking as sleek as possible. More functional additions include pull tabs at the heels (bearing subtle Fucking Awesome text, too) and raised rubber patches on the lateral and medial sides, for durability and a supportive fit.

As far as colourways go, you’ll do well to find a cleaner one this season. The full white upper is broken up only by a subtle silver adidas logo on the tongue, letting the focal point of the colourway really stand out – the icy blue translucent sole. Fucking Awesome’s branding appears in a darker blue, sitting underneath the areas in which the rubber sole rises onto the upper, and the outsole also comes in blue for a more cohesive look overall.

The adidas x Fucking Awesome and Na-Kel Smith 3ST.002 is launching online and in-store here at Attitude on Saturday, 24th March. The day kicked off with a workshop orchestrated by Grace Ahlbom, based around the importance of physical media like magazines in this age where almost everything is digital. We all got to make our own little fold-out magazines which had a large poster on the back, a lovely memento for the day.

The second workshop was led by Liam Hodges, renowned London fashion designer who’s currently taking the menswear world by storm. We were all given blank t-shirts and were able to screen print a custom graphic designed for the event, and then left to our devices to use paint, marker pens and more as we pleased. Some of the guys produced some incredible stuff.

Capping off the day was a panel talk featuring a host of industry insiders, including Liam Hodges, Stussy creative consultant Jordan Vickors, Sony RCA marketer Minnie Harding, Clash Magazine creative director Rob Myers, and Skepta collaborator Alex Sossah. Headed by Alex Ropes of The Basement, the group covered the importance of collaboration and how crucial it is for an organic relationship to be present between the parties involved for the best results. Having input from people in a range of industries, including music, fashion, and media, which are all becoming increasingly entwined, ensured an informative discussion that was very inspiring for any young creatives in the room.

Overall, the One Star Hotel has to go down as one of the best marketing schemes we’ve seen in recent years. It’s one thing to throw a launch party for a shoe with some free drinks and what not – Converse really kicked it up a notch, taking promo to heights that are rarely seen in the streetwear industry. You can certainly expect the One Star to start popping up everywhere over the next year.

The whole upper of the shoe has been crafted using a short-haired tough suede, one that will certainly withstand the tests that skateboarding offers. The lacestay has been reinforced with an extra layer of suede to reduce the chances of your laces blowing out, and the midsole wraps high around the toebox to improve durability in an area that experiences constant abrasion when skating. A black textured rubber has been added above the midsole on the lateral and medial sides and also wraps around the heel, providing a much more secure fit as well as a nice variation in shade compared with the rest of the upper. In a move that is very rarely adopted by brands nowadays, Silvas has made the two outside stripes in adidas’ Three Stripes logo white, and the centre stripe red, providing a pop of colour that stands out nicely against the upper. Finally, in classic adidas style, Silvas text features in gold foil, running parallel with the Three Stripes.

Being an adidas shoe, it performs every bit as good as it looks. Durability as mentioned is taken care of by the tough suede upper and high-wrapping midsole, and perforations have been added to the forefoot and tongue for improved breathability. Stability is guaranteed by the moulded rubber that wraps around the midfoot and heel, and the outsole has been decoupled to maximise shock absorption. Finally, the sockliner has been made using adidas’ spongy adiPRENE material, which will put that added spring in your jump when attempting tricks, and cushion your landing afterwards.
