FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., January 15, 2013—Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Attorneys Title Agency (ATA), a full-service title company providing comprehensive services throughout the state of Michigan, announced today that it has formed a new affiliate, Ohio-based Talon Title Agency, LLC. Talon Title Agency, LLC has acquired the assets of Columbus, Ohio-based Talon Title Agency of Central Ohio, Inc. The transaction closed on December 31, 2012. ATA Chairman and CEO David A. Trott made the announcement.

“As the largest independent title agency in metropolitan Columbus, Talon Title Agency, LLC has some great opportunities,” stated Trott. “We are thrilled to expand our footprint into Ohio, and the acquisition further strengthens our presence in the Midwest.”

Talon Title Agency will continue to operate its four offices throughout the metropolitan Columbus market. Former Talon Title Agency of Central Ohio President Joseph J. Barone will remain president of the new agency, overseeing the organizations’ 40 employees. William L. Robinson, Jr., who is also the president of ATA, will serve as the CEO of Talon Title Agency.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., November 26, 2012 – Farmington Hills, Mich.-based Attorneys Title Agency (ATA), a full-service title insurance agency providing comprehensive services to companies and individuals involved in real estate transactions, internally auctioned off gift baskets on Nov. 21. Proceeds from the charity event will be evenly distributed to Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team, Kids First Initiative, Orion/Oxford Fish Organization and Habitat for Humanity of Clinton County. ATA President Bill Robinson made the announcement.

ATA employees from all 30 branches statewide volunteered their time and worked in teams to create and build 32 gift baskets filled with items, including a variety of cheeses, sweet treats and gift cards. In a private online auction among locations, each gift basket was sold to raise money for the four charities ATA employees selected prior to the event.

Through the auction, ATA employees raised $3,300 for the causes, and the company contributed a $2,700 gift. In total, the event raised $6,000, exceeding ATA’s goal, and will allow each local charity to receive $1,500.

“Each year we strive to help build and support our state through a variety of efforts,” said Robinson. “Being able to partner with four charities for this auction is a great honor, and I am proud of the generosity our employees have shown—from putting the baskets together to donating to the causes—that has allowed us to surpass our goal.”

ATA is committed to giving back to the community by partnering with various local nonprofit organizations that work to provide homes and shelter to those in need. The gift basket auction is part of an ongoing corporate giving program carried out by the company.

The event featured 14 local merchants, including farmers, grocers and retailers, who advocated on the benefits of buying local and regional goods, and also provided Trott, NDeX and ATA employees with the opportunity to sample and purchase Michigan products. To further embrace the environmentally-friendly theme, attendees were provided with recyclable shopping bags decorated by the children at Bright Horizons, a community childcare facility with a location in the Trott Financial Center.

“This year’s food fair was a complete success,” Komp said. “It continues to grow in popularity amongst our employees and local businesses, and we are proud to offer a venue that supports our local economy and a more sustainable work environment.”

As part of the build, six ATA employees volunteered their time on-site at 827 Walnut St., Lake Orion, to assist in the construction of the home’s interior structure, as well as paint. In addition to the build, ATA employees, through office fundraising, donated more than $2,000 for the cause.

“I am extremely proud of the generosity ATA employees have shown for this outstanding initiative,” said Robinson. “It was an inspiring experience for ATA to be able to partner with such a great organization that not only raises awareness on homelessness, but also helps end it by literally helping the local community build from the ground up.”

The transaction, which closed on December 19, marks the second ATA acquisition this month. Having acquired Pinnacle Title Agency in Portage, Mich. on December 7, ATA now has three offices in the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek markets.

“Having closed on the acquisition of our first Kalamazoo location just two weeks ago, these offices will be a great addition to our West Michigan presence as we continue to expand our footprint,” said Bill Robinson, President of ATA. “The Kalamazoo market is a prime area—both in terms of geography and the number of real estate transactions executed—and we’re thrilled to enhance our market share with well-established offices.”

ATA President William Robinson made the announcement.

The transaction, which closed on December 1, enhances the ATA footprint in a market that has long intrigued the title insurance provider.

“Though we have a significant presence in West Michigan through our affiliate Midstate Title Agency, the Kalamazoo market was yet-untapped prior to this acquisition,” said Robinson. “We feel this region has significant growth potential and partnering with the great team at Pinnacle is a phenomenal entry point.”

Pinnacle was owned and operated by George Amar, a highly respected title insurance professional with more than 35 years of experience in the industry. George and his expert staff will be valuable additions to the ATA team.

More than 300 employees attended and over $10,000 was raised. ATA President William Robinson made the announcement.

ATA is dedicated to giving back to the local community through support of nonprofit organizations that work to provide homes and shelter to those in need. ATA partnered with CHN to host this charity walk to raise funds and awareness for homelessness. The event kicked off with an opening ceremony, during which ATA President Bill Robinson presented CHN President Marc Craig with the donation check.

“I’m so pleased we were able to support the outstanding work of CHN,” said Robinson. “Homelessness plagues so many individuals and it is crucial to maintain awareness around this important topic.
