New Audi R8 V10 First Official Photos

These photos of the Audi R8 V10 have been published by a website from Holland, before Audi managed to make them public officially.

The latest supercar from Audi will be powered by a 5.2L V10 engine with 528HP, the same engine that is found under the hood of Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. It can also be found in the race version Audi R8 LMS GT3. As for the interior, the car comes with a Bang & Olufsen audio system and Nappa leather.

Want some numbers? The Audi R8 V10 will do the 0-100km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds, with a maximum speed of 315 km/h.

The price of an Audi R8 V10 is 140,800 euro.

Audi R8 GT3 Spy Photo

What you see below is the first spy photo of the much anticipated Audi R8 GT3. Right now, this Audi car is under development, and it will be sold as a race car when it’s done.

Still, the norms require that a certain number of street models need to be produced, so the "civilian" version will be powered by a V10 engine with 550HP, and it will be sold most probably in 2009.

Right now, the Audi R8 GT3 is tested on the Nurburgring circuit from Germany.

Audi TT RS Roadster Spy Photos

Apparently, the new Audi TT RS Roadster was caught on camera during some winter tests. You can see the photos below. It’s expected to be sold starting from 2009, and will probably come with a 2.5L petrol engine, with 5 cylinders. By using twin turbochargers, the power is expected to be boosted to 260KW. A 6 six speed manual will be the gearbox, with DSG being an option.

It should look pretty hot once it’s launched, though it also looks good now.

Audi A3 Second Generation, 1 Million Units Built So Far

Our favourite german car manufacturer is celebrating these days the production of the 1,000,000th Audi A3 from the second generation. Together with the first generation, this brings the total number of Audi A3’s to 1.9 million.

The anniversary model had the colour Brilliant Red and it was bought by a costumer from Franconia, Germany. It was an Audi A3 Sportback, with a 2.0TDI engine and 140HP.

The production of the second generation Audi A3 started in 2003, and last year 230,849 of them were produced, out of which 68.9% were Sportback. 800 models are produced each day at the Ingolstadt factory.

4.45L/100km With The Audi A4 2.0 TDI

Six Audi A4 2.0 TDI were driven by 12 french journalists and managed to get record numbers in consumption.

Audi France had the idea to invite 12 journalists from the best magazines to a consume test with 6 Audi A4 2.0 TDI that were identical. The task of the six crews was to do the Paris-Madrid route (1260km) and a team of Audi technicians would calculate how much fuel they consumed. The best result of the six teams was a consume of 4.45L per 100km, which means that they could go with a full tank for 1,459 km.

2009 Audi A5 Convertible Will Be Built In Neckarsulm

Though we already know that the Audi A5 Convertible will be launched in January 2009, we got a confirmation now that the A5 will start production later this year and will be on sale as scheduled in 2009. The confirmation came from Audi’s Frank Dreves, in an interview given to Automobilewoche. The Audi A5 will begin production in a city near Stuttgart, called Neckarsulm.

Together with the Audi S5, the A5 Convertible will compete with the BMW 335i convertible for the same audience. But, the difference is that the Audi A5 and S5 will have soft-tops to keep the weight smaller.

The total number of Audi A5 Convertible cars produced in 2009 is expected to be 28,000 and its debut will probably be in January at the Detroit Auto Show.

The New Audi A3 In Autobild

In the photo below you can see the new Audi A3, as seen in the latest edition of Autobild, a german car magazine. I don’t know how they got their hands on this photo, but thanks guys!

Not sure yet if it’s the real thing as we can’t see the trunk, but if we accept that it is, we can see that it will get the LED’s of the rest of Audi cars being offered.

Another thing we can see is that it has a slimmed down grille and headlights, compared with other Audi cars.

Audi S3 Sportback Considered For The US

With the Audi S3 Sportback waiting to be released in Europe, there are talks about its possible future launch in the US. While the 3 door wasn’t considered suitable for the US market, with the 5 door things changed and the same goes for the 2.0T engine.

You can find all kind of opinions on the Audi S3 coming to the US, both positive and negative.

The information about the possible coming of the Audi S3 to the US comes from Audi AG boss Rupert Stadler and Audi of America marketing chief Scott Keogh, which said that it was being considered.
