I’ve been getting into elaborate lyrics videos, like this puppy here…

VIDEO: Eliquate - "The Nineties"

It’s rare that I get something in my inbox dope enough to post — but this video is a great example of dirt cheap creativity that really delivers the goods.

"Full Spectrum" - Zilla Rocca ft. Has-Lo

Fresh music from Zilla Rocca, our resident philosopher and crime novelist. This time he’s going in over a Dr. Quandary composition and trading verses with Has-Lo of Mello Music Group.

Dr. Khil - "Khilgore Trout"

Came across an excellent beat tape from a producer I first crossed paths with many, many moons ago in the Myspace days. Rather than simply re-posting it, I hit up Dr. Khil for an interview about his process and DIY hustle. This cat is focused and talented, and it’s a safe bet you’ll be hearing a lot more about him in 2011…

Louis Mackey & Thirtyseven - "No Humans Allowed"

Sorry things have been slow here — I’m on the road and I released a new album, so I’ve been falling behind here at Audible Hype. I figured the best way to get things moving again would be a full report on the process and the results behind my latest project, No Humans Allowed.

TeV95 - Crime Loops 2

Writing intros can be hard, but not this time: the first installment of Crime Loops was fucking awesome and the sequel is even better. I am passing it along so that Audible Hype readers can enjoy some high-grade, Brooklyn fresh, instrumental hip hop.

RockTheDub.com Presents "Fif"

I’ve always held Rock the Dub in high esteem because Khal is a genuine voice, not a cheerleader or volunteer publicist. He’s consistently posting original material, he’s always good for blunt and honest feedback, and it turns out he’s been doing this for a long damn time, too. Five years, in fact — that’s like a century in Blog Years, isn’t it? To celebrate, he’s thrown together an awesome and sprawling mixtape for your enjoyments…

Sunday Mix: We Are World Around

Sorry for the downtime, folks. I’ve been spending the past month focusing on my own career for awhile, writing, recording and spending a week in Boston shooting music videos. We’re back now. Interviews on tap all week long, lots of new music to share, so let’s kick it off with a gem World Around dropped back in January — a compilation introducing just about the entire roster, from Las Vegas to Switzerland. Enjoy.

Star Persons: The Almost True Story of Electro-Rap's First Intergalactic Pioneers

I had only heard of a few of these guys when I first got within earshot of this project, but no lie, Star Persons are on some next level. As much as I hate that phrase, it’s entirely accurate for this set, because nobody is doing anything like them. Luckily I had one of their producer’s info in my rolodex and he was kind enough to do an interview with me when I name-dropped Audible Hype. And yeah, you heard me right - these guys have multiple producers. In fact, their extended roll call is pretty deep, so that’s where I started my questioning.

HUMP JONES vs. WILLIE GREEN - "Please Do" ft Pro of The Aztext, Mohrer Les and Zilla Rocca
