The Mercury Prize 2012 will be announced on 1 November 2012 with the winner receiving £20,000.  The award celebrates the best of quality British and Irish music and is a welcome alternative to the mainstream Brit Awards.  

This year there are so many deserving condenders that it’s hard to pick a favourite.  I must say, we’re gunning for Alt-J  (for purely nepotistic reasons).  Have a listen to our Mercury Prize playlist below and decide for yourself.

Mad Men Party Part One
