			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A media trend researchs company has just released their 2008 Forecast for the digital OOH media industry. Digital Out-Of-Home (OOH), which includes public video dIsplays (with ads, of course), digital billboards and other ambient platforms (such as outdoor print media augmented by sound or interactive/motion dectection elements) is among the fastest growing advertising media in the USA and Australia.</p>
<p>From their report:</p>
<ul>
<li>Digital billboards [included those that can be combined with AuidoPoint units] are the fastest-growing segment, [though it will be slower in 2008 than 2007 due to the downturn], showing growth of 28.2% and remaining in the 20% growth range to 2012.</li>
<li>Ambient ad platforms will grow 6.8% in 2008. This growth exceed lower growth or outright declines in traditional ad-based media in 2008 and 2009, including newspapers, radio, broadcast TV and magazines.</li>
</ul>
<p>PQ Media also predicts that advertisers will continue to boost spending in digital OOH as consumers spend more time outside the home and reduce traditional media usage. Higher petrol prices, for example, prompted more consumers to use public transport in 2008, creating expanded audiences for digital OOH advertising that reaches consumers on bus, train and thoroughfares.</p>
<p>For AudioPoint, this forecast is reassuring. It provides extra proof that innovative and immersive marketing technologies will start to become more popular as conumer behaviour adapts to changing times.</p>
