Febbraro tomaba conciencia que la conquista de la luna había acaparado la atención y el interés de todos los seres humanos. Esa fue la fuente inspiradora que lo motivó a honrar este esfuerzo del hombre que construía una alianza sin fronteras que comenzaría a establecer vínculos de amistad entre los seres de la tierra y de otros planetas, en caso de encontrarlos.</b></b></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: justify;"></div><div style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; text-align: justify;"><b><b>Por lo tanto EL DÍA INTERNACIONAL DEL AMIGO tiene su origen en la Argentina, y se lo debemos a Enrique Ernesto Febbraro que un 20 de julio, en honor a la llegada del hombre a la luna, envió desde Lomas de Zamora, donde vivía, más de 1000 cartas a personas de diferentes países. </b></b><br />

Este equipo trabajó durante un año sobre la idea del Dr. Febbraro, quien enfatizaba :<i> "Mi amigo es mi maestro, mi discípulo y mi condiscípulo. Él me enseña, yo le enseño. Ambos aprendemos y juntos vamos recorriendo el camino de la vida, creciendo. Era el paso obligado en la ruta que comunicaba el Potosí con el puerto de Buenos Aires.</b></div></div><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Como en la región abundaba la madera, la ciudad se hizo famosa por la fabricación de carretas de excelente calidad. También se producían ponchos, frazadas y fajas. Las tejedoras indígenas los realizaban con antiguas técnicas y los teñían con tinturas vegetales de la zona.</b></div></div><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Después de la revolución de mayo de 1810 y con el comienzo de las guerras de la independencia, la tranquila vida tucumana se alteró completamente. En 1812 se libró una batalla en las afueras de la ciudad, muy cerquita: la batalla de Tucumán. Durante los años siguientes se respiraba en el aire el olor a pólvora y todos temían un nuevo ataque del enemigo. Por ese motivo, a las diez de la noche había que suspender las actividades: no se podía circular por las calles, ni tampoco dejar ninguna lámpara encendida. A las diez en punto, Tucumán quedaba a oscuras.</b></div></div><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><tbody>

Pero la más importante quizás fue el hecho de que los españoles estaban ganando batallas y recuperando territorio en las provincias del norte. Las tropas realistas avanzaban desde el Alto Perú, y solamente estaba el general Martín Miguel de Güemes defendiendo el paso en Salta. Si los españoles lograban llegar a Tucumán, era muy probable que pudieran avanzar hacia Buenos Aires. Hacer el Congreso allí era, en cierto modo, una demostración de fuerza, una manera de defender la revolución. Otra razón importante fue que los diputados del interior eran mayoría y querían ponerle un límite al poder de Buenos Aires.</b></div></div><h3 style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica;">La ciudad de la independencia</h3><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>En ese tiempo San Miguel de Tucumán era una pequeña ciudad. La decisión de realizar allí el Congreso trajo algunos inconvenientes: iban a llegar muchas personas de golpe y la ciudad no estaba preparada para dar alojamiento a tanta gente. Tampoco había un lugar lo suficientemente grande como para realizar las reuniones del Congreso.</b></div></div><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Pero las cosas finalmente se resolvieron. Algunos congresales fueron alojados en casas de familias tucumanas, cerca de la Plaza Mayor y el Cabildo. Otros pudieron ubicarse en los conventos o en las casas de algunos sacerdotes. Una señora tucumana, Francisca Bazán de Laguna, prestó su casa-la más grande de la ciudad- para que se realizaran las sesiones del Congreso, y hasta permitió que se derribaran paredes interiores para conseguir una sala más amplia.</b></div></div><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><tbody>

De tanto en tanto los viajeros hacían paradas en el camino, en lugares especiales llamados "postas". Eran sus únicas oportunidades para lavarse, tomar o comer algo y descansar. </tbody></table><blockquote style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>En la época colonial, la carreta fue uno de los medios de transporte más utilizados para trasladar mercaderías y personas de un punto al otro del antiguo virreinato. Generalmente circulaban varias juntas, en las llamadas "tropas de carretas". Se construían en Tucumán. Los techos se hacían con cueros y la caja con junco tejido, mientras que las ruedas y la base eran de madera. Las ruedas medían más de dos metros de altura. ¿Por qué sería?</b></div></blockquote><h2 align="left" style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica;">Casa chica, sueños grandes</h2><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>La casa donde se declaró la independencia era en 1816 la más grande de San Miguel de Tucumán. Su dueña, Francisca Bazán de Laguna, la donó para que el Congreso pudiera sesionar, y hasta permitió que se tiraran abajo algunas paredes para hacer lugar a los 28 diputados.</b></div></div><div style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px; text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>En 1874, la casa fue adquirida por el Estado, y en 1941 se la declaró Monumento Histórico Nacional. Tras sucesivas refacciones, se reconstruyó su aspecto original. Hoy funciona en ella, el Museo Casa Histórica de la Independencia, que puede visitarse en la calle Congreso 141 de San Miguel de Tucumán, Tucumán.</b></div></div><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" style="color: #414141; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica; font-size: 13px;"><tbody>

</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b>Con el cine podemos reforzar conceptos (por ejemplo las Matemáticas como lenguaje universal en Contact) e incluso introducirlos (por ejemplo las superficies de Moebius con Moebius). También, puede servirnos para estimular la reflexión ética (por ejemplo las relaciones entre Ciencia y Poder en las versiones de Galileo por Liliana Cavani (1968) y Joseph Losey (1974)) y abordar la educación en valores (por ejemplo la superación por el esfuerzo en Lecciones inolvidables). </b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b>Y de la mano del cine, pueden entrar en clase el humor (por ejemplo la resolución de problemas en contextos de cortejo en Una mente maravillosa) y la acción trepidante (por ejemplo el problema de los bidones resuelto por el héroe de Jungla de cristal 3); en definitiva, la sorpresa.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b>Pero, si no hacemos una cuidadosa selección previa podemos lograr efectos negativos. Pretendemos que los alumnos se apropien de las Matemáticas como algo útil, divertido y valioso. Para conseguirlo, son contraproducentes las películas donde las Matemáticas conviven con el agobio y la locura (Cube,Pi. Fe en el Caos, etc.). Sin embargo, en esas mismas películas podemos encontrar escenas válidas para nuestros fines; limitémonos a ellas. Se trata de superar prejuicios antimatemáticos, no de cultivarlos.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b>El docente que decida usar el cine en clase de Matemáticas tendrá que dar su particular respuesta a las clásicas preguntas del confesor: ¿con quién? ¿cuándo? ¿cuántas veces? y ¿cómo? Las contestaremos desde nuestra práctica:</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b><i>¿Con quién?</i> Con los alumnos de cualquier edad, siempre que haya concordancia entre su capacidad de comprensión y el nivel de lectura que requiere la película. Si son necesarias muchas explicaciones complementarias, no es una película adecuada para ese nivel.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b><i>¿Cuándo? </i>El comienzo o el final de la clase son momentos idóneos para la visión de las escenas escogidas. Al comienzo, centran la atención y motivan para el resto de la clase. Al final, sirven como colofón o resumen.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b><i>¿Cuántas veces?</i> Hay poco material utilizable y con los criterios de exigencia comentados su número aún se reduce. Por ello, diríamos que conviene utilizarlo siempre que sea posible y adecuado. En nuestra experiencia docente, hemos llegado a un máximo de seis pases de secuencias de cine con los alumnos de un mismo grupo a lo largo de un curso académico, con una duración total de 1 hora y 10 minutos; un tiempo inferior a dos periodos lectivos.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
</b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><b><i>¿Cómo? </i>El tiempo de una clase no permite el pase de una película completa. Además, pensamos que tampoco sería conveniente. En una misma película suele haber varias tramas, de las cuales sólo una suele relacionarse con aspectos matemáticos. Proponemos hacer pequeños montajes con esas escenas y que sean sólo esos fragmentos los que se vean en clase, siempre que sean comprensibles por si mismos. De esta forma, obtendremos de cada película no más de 20 minutos (en ocasiones, menos de 5 minutos). Pero para sacar el mayor partido a la situación, convendrá recoger y debatir los comentarios de los alumnos, desarrollando un pequeño foro. Poner palabras a las impresiones hace objetivar y depurar el conocimiento.</b></b></span></div><br />

Sería deseable disponer de un aula-materia de Matemáticas donde el uso de los recursos fuera inmediato, pero no es lo habitual. </b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">Normalmente hay que asegurar la disponibilidad del carro-mueble con el televisor y video, hacer un incómodo traslado por pasillos y ascensores. Y, una vez en el aula, cruzar los dedos para que no falte el fusible, no haya un problema de conexiones o los duendes de la tecnología no nos sean adversos. Por último, la calidad de la imagen en el televisor suele ser manifiestamente mejorable.</b></div><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"></span><br />

El transporte es más cómodo y la calidad de imagen superior, con el requisito –cada vez más común- de disponer de las películas en DVD.</b></b></span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><br />
