Face Painting for A Lovely Duo

2012-03-25T01:33:00.001+08:00

Hello dear,

How is it going? Hope you made a fantastic progress in this first quarter of the year. As for Auntie Yan, I never thought it is going such a hectic quarter for us. Nevertheless, it's better to keep yourself busy thinking, working and achieving things.. after all, an idle mind is a devil's workshop!

By the way, Do you have friends who are twins? I always like twins.
Twins are solid, harder to break because they are always side-by-side and are so closely allied.
Having said that, we do not have twins in the family. We are just admiring those who have ;)

I had a chance to do a twins' birthday party. These lovely duo are the daughters of Mdm. Leyla Firdouz. If I'm not mistaken, this was their 9th birthday party, held 8 January last year. Let me share some snaps of their happy moments with their family and besties. Hope you like it!

See you again soon, my friend. Keep shining and keep smiling. Let the hidden stars sparkle out of you!

Thanks for dropping by. Do check out Facebook page here. If you like what you see, please do click the 'like' button ;) .. till then - au revoir.. xoxoxo

Face Painting for Birthday and Aqikah @ Ina Alim's

Konnichiwa こんにちは!!!

How are you? Have you been working too hard this year? Since Xmas and New Year hols are near, it looks like a good time now to start letting your hair down, sit back and relax with your loved ones.

Before I proceed with this post, let me first introduce you to Ina Alim. She's a good friend of mine from my Alma mater, Sekolah Tun Fatimah - a wonderful all-girls boarding school down south. We used to be playing in the school band together; she loved blowing the trombone, while I loved tooting the trumpet. We were also in the same class during our final year. Since our school days till today, Ina Lim is always the people person who knows how to gel us together and who loves to organize gatherings, trips and projects. That's why she is well known and well loved by her peers, juniors and the seniors alike, including myself ;)

Now, this is Ina Lim's niece who is the celebrated birthday girl:

Happy birthday, love!

Ina Alim (far left - the lovely tiger lady in maroon) with her sisters and niece. Ina Alim safely returned from her hajj journey recently. Welcome home, Hajjah! Let's catch up soon :)

Peace y'all!

All the photos in this post are courtesy of Ina Alim. These great shots are captured by her brother in law - thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks to you too for reading this till the end. I wish that 2011 is a fruitful year for you. May you start enjoying the reap of whatever good things that you sow earlier ;) Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating & a very happy new year to all. Cheers!

".......You'd know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised in a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days...."

Let's Help KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah - Sponsor A Child Today :)

2011-12-07T01:21:00.000+08:00

Dear friends,

Let's help KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah, a partially independent school that is so full of inspiration and love yet is so scarce of means and resources. We had a chance to visit the school two months back. At a glance, it looks like just another ordinary school. But if you look closer at the surroundings, you'll then understand why it needs such help.

KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah is located at Lembah Subang, next to clusters of Program Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin (PPR) flats. The PPRT flats are meant to help the less fortunate families who were previously living in the squatters. The headmistress told us the families will need to pay a nominal fee of RM124/month for their flats. Many still can't even afford to pay the fee, let alone their children's education as they are still struggling with basic needs such as food, medication and clothing.

Photo is taken from here. Click to read more about one of the PPRT Lembah Subang residents' predicament.

We were also told that 75 of the pupils are greatly in need of food. They most likely have one square meal for the rest of the day from the Rancangan Makanan Tambahan (RMT) or Free Food Program from the canteen. The RMT is sponsored by good Samaritans, but it is seasonal in nature. Do think of them on this rainy seasons, how are they faring in coldness and hunger? :(

Each pupil under RMT will need a budget of RM1.50 per day. So to sustain feeding 75 pupils a month, the school will need about RM113/day or RM3,375/month. Apart from RMT funding, tuition fees and teaching aids are the hardest to come by. Because of poverty, the school is often the target of robbery and theft. PC and laptop were stolen, even a metal bar to secure the cabinet was stolen and sold to buy food.

Let's extend a helping hand. The hand that gives is above the hands that takes :)

It's a great feeling in the heart to know that there's a circle of caring individuals forming a community to help this school and the PPRT community. They ran a carnival to raise fund last October. Check them out here at Help KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah. But there's a lot more to be done and your help no matter how big or small is really needed. Recently, a sponsorship program is launched. You can sponsor a child's education at the school for RM300/year. You can share the RM300 with your friends if you like. Read about how to make sponsorship here.

You can also make donations as and when you like at any rate to:
Bank Islam SAR AL-INSANIAH 12047010031372

Or you can contact / visit the school to give away used PCs / laptops or projectors that may be laying useless in your office or home to:
KAFA Integrasi Al-Insaniah,
Jalan PJU 1A/42, Taman Putra Damai,
Lembah Subang, 47301 Petaling Jaya,
Selangor Darul Ehsan
The Headmistress: Ustazah Siti Hawa Sharif - 013-9180191

For more understanding about this school and its surrounding, have some good reading from these caring sites:

http://www.izwannizamruslim.com/program-penajaan-pelajaran-kafa-integrasi-al-insaniah

I really hope you can help out in every little way or another. Let's help and pray the poor in this country can break away from their viscous poverty circle; let's help and pray that every child gets the education that they deserve. Thank you for reading this till the end my friend. God bless you!

Face Painting Hawaiian-style at Mont Kiara Kuala Lumpur

2011-10-26T17:15:00.000+08:00

Aloha!

Pehea `oe? How are you? Jolly good I hope!

It's still raining now and then over here, but that isn't bad really. The what used to be browning plants at my backyard seem to spring back with lovely green hues and Auntie Yan is loving it :)

This time, let me tell you about Lelani's birthday party that was held almost a year ago. It was a cool Hawaiian-themed party by the pool, attended by her family members and besties. I remembered eating tasty pineapple fried rice afterwards.. hehehe ;)

Lelani, the beautiful Pulelehua (Hawaiian butterfly) :)

This is one of her besties with the hibiscus on the cheek. Hibiscus is a state flower of Hawaii. It's a symbol of royalty, believed to bring great power & respect among Hawaiian

Let's have some coconut trees and summer flowers lulled by the tropical breezes ..

"Well... I think I'll have a hibiscus.."

"Oppsss...On the second thought, the Hawaiian butterfly is pretty cool and I want that too!"

"Let the butterfly takes its maiden flight from my hand.."

"And let this one rests on my cheek!"

Here's Lelani's lovely mom, Melissa. Love the lei she was wearing (a string of flowers around the neck). Auntie Yan just found out that she's a cousin to my former boss, Miss Sha. What a small world after all!

Alright, we shall keep in touch again very soon. Laze around and enjoy your day regardless rain or shine. Hakuna matata, my friend!

Hakuna Matata; It aint no passing craze.
It means no worries, for the rest of your days."

Here are some photos that Auntie Yan still keep from last year:

There's a tiger in the house! Amar, the big brother. Momma told me that he loves fast cars and he's great at memorizing their make & models :)

This cuddly bear is Amir, the little brother. Momma said he has an exquisite culinary taste :)

Celebrating the brothers' birthday were their happy cousins....

Blow your candles and make a wish...May your wishes come true!

A special ice cream cake to top it all, yay!

Okie-dokie, Love. We'll see each other again soon. It's raining now and then here. And so the wheezing and sneezing season begins.. Do take care, kay? Have plenty of plain water and Vit C. Let's hope that you will not catch the cold from the rain. See ya later, love ;)

We still can find a way...
'Cause nothin' lasts forever
Even the cold November rain"

Malaysian Face Painting for Harimau Malaya

2011-07-27T22:57:00.002+08:00

Buenos días!

How are you doing lately? Hope this post finds you well and happy.

This time, Auntie Yan would like to draw your attention to the 2nd leg of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Qualifying Round Two between Malaysia vs Singapore that will be held tomorrow, 28 July 2011 at Stadium Bukit Jalil.

In previous Singapura vs Malaysia match, we lost 5-3. Now at our own homeland, the Harimau Malaya (Malayan Tiger) will need to score another 2 goals to ensure that we qualify.

All the best Harimau Malaya! Let these tigers ease some tensions and suspense..hehehe.. :)

The news said that all 85,000 tickets were sold out by today. To those who will be cheering at the stadium tomorrow, don't forget to wear your Harimau Malaya jersey. It'll be wise to hop on STAR LRT to avoid traffic fiasco. All the best my fellow tigers!

Auntie Yan Special: Father's Day Edition

2011-06-30T23:16:00.000+08:00

Hola amigo!
Hello my friend!

What's up over there? I hope you are all doing well. We are half way through this year as the month of June 2011 bids farewell.Whatever ups and downs that you had for the last six months, I hope they'll make you stronger and wiser ;)

Last May, I updated about Mother's Day. Naturally, it feels right this time to pay tribute to the fathers that we have and we meet in our lives. From the bottom of my heart, Auntie Yan would like to wish all our supporters, all the loving daddies and the inspiring father figures in the world a very Happy Father's Day.

Here are some photos of the sporting fathers and uncles who dared our face painting by beloved Auntie Yan's partner, Uncle Fadhil. They braved anything just to make their kids happy :)

Well, Andrea Hirata, looks like your daddy is not the only "Ayah juara satu seluruh dunia", my children have one too ;)

I hope many of us are lucky enough to always have our own version of "the best no.1 daddy in the world" in our own way and our own eyes.

Till we meet again, Ciao!

Auntie Yan Face Painting Special: Mother's Day Edition

2011-05-24T23:25:00.003+08:00

My dear friend,

It's been a while since we last keep in touch. So how's life getting on? It is not always a bed of roses, I guess. But I hope there are more roses than thorns lying on your mattress ;)

Each passing year, the month of May is something to remember for Auntie Yan. It's the month in which we celebrate our son's birthday every year with gratitude. It is also the month in which we honor all the mothers and all teachers across our homeland, Malaysia.

I hope it's not too late to wish all mothers a Happy Mother's Day, and to all teachers a Happy Teacher's Day.

There are days that our children make us laugh and smile, and there are days that they make us cry. Anyhow, we love them to the bones, even in the afterlife... :)

Let me share some photos of the lovely mothers that Auntie Yan had the opportunity to face paint, just for your eyes only ;)

The month of May 2011 draws its curtain with heartbreaking news.. what would have been a happy month turned out to be a very sad one for us. Last Saturday, 21 May 2011 at about 2.30pm, there was a landslide that occurred at Madrasah At-Taqwa, an orphanage house in Hulu Langat claiming the lives of 16 boys. They gathered there for a nasyid (choir) rehearsal before the fateful event happened.

A full dress rehearsal photo, moments before the fateful landslide taken from here. 16 of them didn't make it. Rest in peace, dear sons.

To the victims' families and friends, our deepest condolences and prayers are with you. Tears cannot wash away our sadness, not even more so yours. May your heart be filled with peace and courage. May you have the strength to move on. Verily, God love them more than we do..

Semoga Allah mencucuri rahmatNya buat yang pergi.... Al-fatihah.

Birthday Party of Kak Murn's 3rd Son at Subang Bestari

2011-04-07T01:32:00.007+08:00

Salut!

Qu'est-ce qui s'est passé? <-- this is 'What's up?' in French ;)
I wish you well, buddy. Hope your days are filled with warm colours...

Here's another happy event that Auntie Yan attended, it was at Subang Bestari on 7 Dec. 2010. The happy occasion was the birthday party of Kak Murn's 3rd son out of 5 children (if I'm not mistaken). Speaking of siblings and kinship, in Malay culture, the 1st child is usually called 'Along', the 2nd child is called 'Angah' and the 3rd one can be called 'Uda' or 'Achik'. Err.. what about the 4th one? Is it called 'Alang'? Hehehe.. Auntie is not so sure.. perharps you can share with us what the correct kinship term is. But one thing I'm quite sure of, the youngest one is often called 'Usu' or 'Acu'.

By the way, here are the snapshots of the birthday party. Photos couretesy of K. Murn & hubby, thank you to both!

Here's the birthday boy. Wow, look at the cake - fantastico!

Kak Murn, hubby, and their daughter. She's beautiful like her mom...

You can view more photos here. Photos are again courtesy of Kak Murn. Auntie Yan was rushing that day, so she forgot to bring her own camera!

Ok, buddy. See you again with more interesting pics. Meanwhile, have a pleasant day ahead. If you have dark clouds above your head at the moment, fret not...just hang on... it'll be gone soon. There's always a silver lining across the dark sky. There are always sunshine and rainbow after the rain too. Remember, tough times won't last, but tough people do ;)

Till then, Ciao!

Face Painting at Alam Budiman, Shah Alam: Ain's Birthday Party

2011-03-11T02:04:00.001+08:00

Howdy!

What's up my friend? May things run smoothly at your end :)

As promised, let me update you with a series of Auntie Yan's face painting events around KL and Selangor that took place a few months back. This time round, it was at Alam Budiman, Shah Alam on 14 Nov. 2010. The grand occasion was Ain's birthday party. Photos below are courtesy of Ain's parents, the lovely K. Lin & Abg. Malek - thank you both for inviting & sharing the photos!

"Sugar and spice, and everything nice.." Here's the birthday girl - Ain the sweetie pie!

Best wishes for you, Ain. May your best dreams come true....

Everlasting sisterhood...

Ain's elder brother, a hansome tiger in red... ;)

Now, a brotherhood of friendly tigers.. grrrrrrr..

Here comes a bunny with a real rabbit... hehehe..

This is Ain's eldest sister, looking sweet with a butterfly on her cheek :)

During the party, Ain's besties were of course by her side to celebrate her birthday:

Le captaine pirate and his favourite apprentice..:D

Ain's dearest mom and dad, Kak Lin & Abang Malek. Kak Lin just delivered their 6th child about a week before Ain's birthday party. It seemed that the pang of childbirth didn't bother her at all from attending all her children at home. Isn't she looks amazing? Her smile is as big as her heart...

The cool bunch... Home is where the heart is!

By the way, we are counting days here for the 1-week school holiday :) Bet there will be parties, weddings and short trips by this weekend and the days after. To busy parents out there, let's take a break and catch up with the kids!

"Holiday.. Celebrate...

If we took a holiday

Took some time to celebrate

Just one day out of life

It would be, it would be so nice!"

From 'Holiday' by Madonna

Take care all! Auntie will be going off for a holiday too with the kids this weekend (12-13 March).. Drop me e-mails if you can't reach me at 019-2289270 or 013-3845832. Cheers!

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at Sri Acmar

2011-02-28T01:31:00.005+08:00

Hello friend!

How is it going? Things are spinning pretty fast, aren't they? For all you know, it's already the end of February 2011, the first quarter of the year is already two-third gone. How the time flies!

However, there are things that stood the test of time; memories for example, seem to linger as long as one can remember them.

For many, famous fairy tales and songs are probably common childhood memories. Do you remember the classic story of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs? I bet you do!

Now, the 14th Annual Prize-Giving Day and Concert of Sri Acmar International School, Klang was held on 13 November 2010. The finale and also the grand highlight of the event was 'The Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' play. Auntie Yan was lucky to be invited as the make-up artist for the cast. Here are some of the shots, hope you like it.

This lovely Miss Birdie was Snow White's close companion while she was in the forest

Okay... it's show time, don't forget your lines!

Wait a second..here's the wicked Queen.."Mirror, mirror on the wall..Who is the fairiest fair of all?"

What??? It's Auntie Yan?? Owh Mirror, you must be nuts! Hahahaha...

Ok dear, you can view more photos on this event here and click the 'Like' button on Auntie Yan's Facebook page if you haven't ;)
Let's catch up again soon. Meanwhile, keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!

"We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig in our mine the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick,

Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go"

Double celebration: Luqman's 7th Birthday & Lateefa's 6th Birthday

2011-01-23T00:36:00.007+08:00

Hi there!

What's been cooking lately? Hope it turns out deliciously fine!

It's been a while since Auntie Yan last updated this blog. The fourth quarter of 2010 was full of unexpected events for our family; there were days that the rainbows grew above our heads, but there were days that out of sudden, some birds pooped on the heads too ;) That's life anyway, hehehe...

By the way, Auntie Yan managed to work on a series of interesting birthday parties in the last quarter. Auntie Yan will try her best to update them all here.

The one that Auntie Yan would like to share with you today is on Luqman's 7th Birthday and Lateefa's 6th Birthday. The double celebration of this pair of close siblings was held on 17 Oct. 2010, attended by many of their playground pals, neighbours, besties and of course, their beloved family members.

Here you go, hope you like it :)

Luqman and Lateefa, were about to blow the candles and made special wishes... (Photo courtesy of the hot momma Afzan. Thanks babe)

Tadaa..Candles were blown.. May your wishes come true!

Here's the birthday boy. Luqman fancied the Ultraman look :)

Now this is Lateefa, the birthday girl, donning a butterfly design on her sweet face

Here are some photos of their friends during the party:

Okie-dokie, thank you for checking out this post. Hope it's not too late for Auntie Yan to wish you a Happy New Year. May 2011 takes you to greater heights and happier times. Bon Chance!

Jonathan's Birthday Party

2010-11-23T18:42:00.002+08:00

Hi there,

Here we are again sharing some exciting face painting photos. This time, the spotlight is on Jonathan's 3rd birthday party which was held on 10 Oct. 2010 at Nyonya's Kitchen, Klang. For his birthday bash, Jonathan's mom, Julie had requested a 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' theme. Auntie Yan never did this before... and so, she was all excited and nervous at the same time trying to paint Mickey Mouse, Minie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto!

Before Auntie Yan went off to the party, she practised painting some of the famous Playhouse Disney's characters. For the first timer, not bad this is, aye? hehehe...

Here is Pluto!

Then comes Donald...

Minie Mouse is all smile...

Here's Donald again, this time with his sailor hat on..

Now, these are the photos taken at the birthday party. Some of the shots, which are obviously clearer and better in terms of photography angles are taken from Julie's blog and her Facebook photo album. Those were snapped by one of Julie's sister during the party.

The photo above is taken from Julie's blog. We started by painting both Jonathan's mommy & daddy. Since daddy requested Donald Duck, mommy spontaneously wanted to become the darling Daisy Duck ;)

Both of these photos are taken from Julie's Facebook album. Aren't they such cute Minnies? awww...

As the party went, Mickey & Minnie were the most popular among the guests.

This particular photo is also taken from Julie's Facebook photo album.

Here are photos of Donald and Goofy:

There were other designs requested by the guests apart from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse characters:

This young lady had Goofy painted on her left cheek before. She returned for more on her right cheek :)

Hand painting were also done upon the guests' requests:

Now, here's Jonathan, the birthday boy. He was happy surrounded by his mommy and his lovely aunties.

Another photo taken from Julie's blog

Along the way, we bumped into our old friend, Khai Yin. Auntie Yan & Khai Yin used to be colleagues back in year 2000. It was a nice surprise since we hadn't seen him in years... he is definitely much slimmer now, keep it up Khai Yin!

Khai Yin and his family. This photo is extracted from here.

All in all, the party was a memorable one. However, we are deeply sorry to learn that Jonathan's little sister, Samantha had left all of us (as written by Julie in her blog on 19 Nov. 2010). Samantha had been battling a metabolic disorder condition. You can read about her courageous journey here. Even though Auntie Yan only met Samantha once during the birthday party, Auntie Yan really feel for her as Auntie Yan also has a baby daughter just a few months older than Samantha.

Samantha, may you rest in peace.. (This photo from Julie's Facebook album)

Our deepest condolences to Julie and her family.

God truly love Samantha more. To all who are reading this, let's pray that Julie and her family are blessed with strength, courage, peace and love to go on. Amin.

Nadia's Birthday Party

2010-11-12T16:59:00.004+08:00

Hi there!

How are things going on? I really hope all are nice and sunny for you!

Now, in this blog entry, Auntie Yan would like to share some photos taken during Nadia's 11th birthday party on last 9 October 2010. The party was held together with her family's Hari Raya open house. The face painting parlour became instant hit as the kids really digged it. Hope it was a memorable birthday party for Nadia and her friends :o)

Here's Nadia, the sweet birthday girl! The dazzling stars on her face matched her earings.. ;)

Want to see more photos of Nadia's birthday party? You can check them out our Facebook page too :)

In Malaysia at this time, the holiday mood starts to kick in as we have a string of public holidays in November and December; there are Deepavali (5 Nov.), Hari Raya Haji or Eid al-Adha (17 Nov.), Maal Hijrah which is the Islamic New Year (7 Dec.), and then, Christmas (25 Dec.). Some may extend the Christmas holiday till the New Year celebration. The long awaited year-end school break is around the corner too! So 'syok', right??!!! Till then, enjoy the holiday season, let your hair down & relax your feet ;) See you again with more exciting photos!

Petronas Dagangan Hari Raya Open House

2010-11-02T13:03:00.247+08:00

Good day everyone!

As promised, Auntie Yan would like to share with you some photos taken during our job at Petronas Dagangan Hari Raya Open House, which was held on 26 September 2010 at Sime Darby Convention Centre, Bukit Kiara. There were about 500 kids attending, including special Petronas' guests from Rumah Nursalam. The kids were entertained with Upin & Ipin, a clown, balloons, and of course, Auntie Yan's Face Painting :)

Petronas Dagangan made a nice banner for the face painting station. If you noticed, the photos at the foot of the banner is extracted from this blog (see my Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka! post). On that day, the face painting station was a huge hit among the kids.We had kids coming back for repeats despite the long queues :)

We came in early to paint the organizing committee first. For a big event like this, Auntie Yan teams up with another 2 painters - Uncle Fadhil and Fizah to address the large crowd. (Thanks team, you guys rock! ;))

The original theme requested by the organizing committee was 'Raya!Raya!Raya!'. So we had Raya antics like ketupat (the most popular), Syawal moon, stars, pelita, lemang and fireworks painted on the cheeks or hands...

But kids will be kids... after several rounds of Raya antics, they started to pop questions like 'Auntie, can I have Batman instead?' 'How about Spiderman?' After a short discussion with the organizing committee, they gave us the green light to paint other designs too. Afterall, the kids were too cute to let down ;)

Here's a tiger in the making...

This fine chap requested Auntie Yan to cover a mole on his face with a tiger skin pattern :D

All in all, Spiderman and Tiger were very popular with the boys during the event

But there were requests for other designs too; for instance, this young man fancied being a clown

Shark was often requested to be painted on the hands...

The Flash and football were popular too!

As for the girls, butterflies, flowers, rainbows and hearts are classic favourites..

Here's Kak Long (the eldest) among three lovely sisters. She was pleased with the rainbow & heart...

And then comes Kak Ngah (the middle sister),.. After seeing Kak Long's, she wanted a similar design for herself

Now, the two happy sisters encouraged the youngest one to try out the face painting...

And guess what? she wanted the same design too! hehehe... :D

Now, the favourite of the day is (drum roll)...

2010-10-14T01:31:00.007+08:00

Hi there!

Auntie Yan had the chance to paint at Azie's son birthday party on 25 Sept. 2010. The kids were enjoying it; we had many of them queuing for repeats on cheeks and hands. Auntie Yan managed to take some photos and here they are:

Here's the birthday boy. He's a football fan & Brazil is his favourite.

For more pics of this event, you can browse our Facebook photo album. Thanks for checking out this post, Auntie Yan really appreciates it! Hope you'll visit this blog again. She is working on some updates on several events that she attended - Petronas Dagangan's Raya Gathering, Nadia's birthday party & Jonanthan's too ;) See ya soon!

Hari Raya Dinner at Mak Long's

2010-10-04T00:25:00.015+08:00

Hi all!

After Ginger's birthday party, we went to my sister's home for a Hari Raya get together. It's been a while since the kids last visited the home of Pak Long, Mak Long, their cousins - Mubin, Syamin and AJ, plus the pet turtles. That evening, Mak Long prepared a tasty nasik lemak with chicken rendang. To wrap it up, Auntie Yan painted the kids just for fun ;)

The kids' eldest cousin, Mubin posed as Le Capitaine Jack Sparrow in his early teens. This young man has some serious talents in drawing comics and grafitti arts.

Mubin requested a turtle on his cheek. He loves turtles. He raises four pet turtles, one is named after the famous Quincy of the Wonder Pet

The peaceful butterfly who is smiling sweetly at you is Mubin's sister, Syamin.

Syamin is the smartest girl in her class. According to her grandma, Syamin is usually quiet and observant, but hey, she is gutsy!

Here is Ilhan, the dragon who was full with Mak Long's nasik lemak.... He often has tricks up his sleeves that he uses on his eldest brother ;)

The dragon felt sleepy but abah tried to keep him awake..

Dhuha, posed as a Hawaiian boy with Nemo on his cheek

Dhuha showing off his Nemo... Dhuha has talents in drawing figures too. His sketches are pretty impressive.. Keep it up son!

Okie-dokie, that's all for now.. thanks for checking out this post. Auntie Yan hopes you'll drop by again. She will be uploading updates on Azie's son's birthday party and her face painting works for Petronas Dagangan Hari Raya open house soon. Stay tuned!

Do you still remember how to Waka Waka Dance?

2010-09-20T13:45:00.002+08:00

Hi all!

Auntie Yan would like to wish our visitors and supporters who celabrate Eid ul-Fitri a very Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin:)

This time round, Auntie Yan would like to share some shots taken during the madness of Worldcup 2010 in July. Auntie Yan planned to upload this earlier, but owh my.. July 2010 was a busy month indeed! Anyway, the boys had their time cheering for their favorite teams and made their own steps of waka waka dance. Do you still remember your own version of waka waka dance?

"The pressure is on...You feel it
But you've got it all...Believe it!

When you fall get up...Oh oh...
And if you fall get up...Oh oh...

Tsamina mina zangalewa
Anawa aa
This time for Africa!"

Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

2010-08-31T12:30:00.005+08:00

Our country Malaysia, celebrated its 53rd year of independence today, 31 August 2010. The boys were marching up and down singing the late Allahyarham Sudirman's number "Tanggal 31, Bulan 8, '57" - they said they have been singing it the whole month at school. To fire up their Merdeka spirit, I decided to paint Jalur Gemilang on the boys' faces :)

Ilhan showing his genuine from the heart Malaysian smile

There are many children suffering from war, famine and poverty in different parts of the world. Mama and abah hope you appreciate how lucky you are being born in this stable and peaceful country.

Now..to all Malaysian mommies "The Malaysian hand that rocks the cradle is the Malaysian hand that rules the world" ;) hehehe... how about that? Selamat Hari Merdeka, all!
