SOOO sorry for not updating this in like foreverrrs. School started last month for me and Atoosa's in Australia, so needless to say we're both SUPER UBER busy girls these days. I can't even remember the last time I watched the DC (much less open the TV, honestly). So I have absolutely NO idea what's going on in that little realm. NO. IDEA. But if yall want something Disney-related, well, Atoosa has a Disney internship at the moment! WOOTWOOT. ^_^ And the "Hiatus!" in the image above is in Disney font (which is pretty much the only reason why I chose it, of course).

So yea... this is a fairly pointless post, really. Just wanted to say we're both still alive and kickin', only ridiculously and insanely too busy to keep up with this right now. So sadly I must say, we'll be on temporary hiatus for probably the rest of the semester.

Lots of love to all our readers out there. We'll be back soon, pinky swears=)

DC Games '08: Final Updates

I forgot to update about the 4th challenge, sorry guys. Well, basically the French dude from the Yellow Team pwn'ed everyone else. So they took first, Red-2nd, then Blue and Green tied 3rd (only because Green won the mini round). Demi Lovato and the JoBros performed. Was really sweet of Joe and them to give props to Demi after the song was over, but um, Demi could've given props back to the JoBros (ya know, since that's kinda polite) but she didn't. She just stood there and was like "yay me!" So meh.

As for the last challenge, did anyone think the challenge itself went wayyyy too fast?? I thought it'd be much longer. Well, Red took the whole pie. Then Yellow-2nd, Green-3rd, and Blue-4th. I felt so sorry for the British dude who got his backpack stuck in the teeny bicycle. Also feel sorry for the Green Team, they're the only team that never won 1st place for any of the challenges. Aww. So total final scores: Red got the cup of course, Yellow-2nd, then Green and Blue tied for 3rd. And all 4 charities each got $25,000. Miley Cyrus presented the Inferno with an award or something, I guess. Dunno, wasn't really paying attention but she left as quickly as she came (LOL at Selena Gomez clapping all unenthusiastically when she came on). Oh, and the Cheetah Girls performed twice ("Dance Me If You Can" and "One World"). That's about it, I think.

Well, here are some random fun facts from Wiki (which is where I get most of my DC Games updates):
- Brenda Song is so far the only Disney Channel star up until this point to have been a captain for the DC Games every single year for the past 3 years. Also she's been the captain for the Red Team last year.
- Cole Sprouse is the only Disney Channel star to return to the same team all 3 years.
- Shin Koyamada is the only Disney Channel star to switch teams every year (Red 06, Yellow 07, Blue 08).

Sorry for the short update this time. I've honestly lost interest in the DC Games for the past few weeks. Plus, school has started so my life is uber busy once again. Dunno how often I'll update this, so sorry in advance.

The Cheetah Girls 3: Review

First of all, never been a huge fan of the Cheetah Girls eversince (both the movies and the songs). Never been a huge fan of Raven, either, and I don't have much of an opinion for Sabrina Bryan since she's always been pretty bland to me. I did like 3LW, so Adrienne and Kiely are okay in my book, but not really faves. All the 3LW drama was unfortunate, because they did have some pretty good songs. The first two movies were very mediocre to me. This third one seems to be trying too hard to be like HSM (as does another movie, *ahem CAMP ROCK). They should've kept it consistent with the first two movies. The movie was super short, yet it seemed like it'd never end. There was a song outbreak every 5 minutes, which just didn't flow too well. I don't know if this will make sense, but I think if you're going to do a song, it's okay if it's random (it's kind of supposed to be) but at least make it the kind of random that flows with the storyline and the particular scenes. But this was one song after another after yet another and another, so it often felt rushed and out of place at times. Like the very beginning of the movie, for example. I thought it was a bad idea to start the movie right away with the "Cheetah Love" music video, even if it was only Chanel's imagination. It was just weird and confusing. And don't even get me started on the "Dig A Little Deeper" outburst in the restaurant. I'm just going to laugh off the computer tech dude/super-rich prince and the scene where Aqua bumps into him at the same time in the same country in the same city at the same place on the same street walking right next to each other. Same with the "making up" scene where they were only mad at each other for like 3sec. I know it's a must that they lip sync but wow, at least don't make it obvious (see the guys during "I'm The One"). LOL's at how they explained Galleria's absence. (Which, by the way, I didn't really care either way. I know that's a popular topic, but like I said, not a big fan of Raven. It's weird for me, though, seeing just the three of them because I was a fan of 3LW, and to me it's like watching 3LW with Sabrina replacing Naturi or Jessica.) Also funny how there were no parents at ALL. And the elephant paranoia. And how they just ended up being extras in the end. One scene just jumped onto the other, with that feeling where there were loads of fairly obvious scenes that were skipped but you still sort of wanted to see anyway. The romances were ridiculous. Aqua and Amar (aka Kevin 347) were a bit awkward (maybe because he looks so much younger than her even though in reality he's only one year younger). You can tell what Vik's intentions were with Chanel (can yall say implants?!). Rahim and Gita were probably the only realistic romance, but the dorkiness was a tad overexaggerated. I laughed every time Do's phone rang and it said "Spain" was calling. Speaking of Sabrina, I have to admit that both her acting and singing have improved a LOT. Raven has been doing the acting thing for about as long as the Olsens, and she's a natural singer with loads of range. Adrienne and Kiely have been in the music biz for a really long time now. Sure Sabrina's more of a dancer than anything else, but her acting and singing have been pretty bland so far. The solos were.. oh, wait. There was just one solo. I guess now that Raven's gone, it's obvious who the new leader is. Again, it's just like 3LW to me, since Adrienne was always the top chica. The Indian guys were okay; yes of course they were good looking, but that's pretty mandatory and expected (again with the superficiality and the business). I hate to say it, but the main Indian characters were all very American-like. Both Vik and Amar had American accents. Rahim and Gita had subtle Indian accents. The only ones who had fairly strong Indian accents were Vik's uncle and Vik's friend who accompanied him during the auditions. By the way, the guy who plays Vik isn't even Indian and I find that pretty freakin' hilarious. Sadly, I was fooled. I've never seen any Bollywood films and don't know anything about Bollywood, so I don't know how TCG3 compares with Bollywood.

Overall it was a bleh movie, not much of a storyline, same old conflicts and ending, and the songs are just so-so. It was very pretty, though. And the girls look very pretty, but I wish they didn't overload the makeup so much. Less is more, girls. Oh, and someone please tell me why there will be a fourth movie?! And Raven's returning?? Yea, sure, we'll see. I find it a bit hard to believe, only because of her pride. I actually don't find it hard to believe that she might consider it, since her recent album got like zippo promotion thus "flopped" (but I heard it was pretty good) and she really hasn't done much on her own after TCG except College Road Trip, and I heard that wasn't exactly a masterpiece. That's been about it for her. I know about the supposed drama between her and the rest of the girls (doesn't surprise me if they're true since she seems just as bossy in real life) but based on TCG3, it doesn't seem like there's a lot of bitterness due to some scenes like Do smiling and flipping through the photo album with all four girls (pics from the first two movies) and when they explained Galleria's absence, it wasn't really expressed badly. But whatever, we'll see I guess. This review has gone long enough, and I'm getting tired of talking about this, so I'll end it here.

EDIT:
Okay, so after TCG3 premiered like a few more times this weekend (the sing-along, the whatever-along, etc), I have to admit that the songs MAY have grown on me a bit and they're not as bad as I expressed above. And honestly, I like these songs SO much better than the songs from the first two movies. I can tolerate them, and I also like them a LOT better than Camp Rock (the only Camp Rock songs I'll admit to liking are "This Is Me," "Gotta Find You," and naturally the Joe/Demi duet). I like the slower-ish songs from TCG3, but I've always liked slower cheesy ballads eversince (see aforementioned Camp Rock songs). If it has a sweet melody, I'll probably like it, regardless how cheesy the lyrics are. But anyway, I feel kinda bad for TCG3 after seeing its rating on IMDb (4.6 - ouch). Then again, I'd probably rate it about the same, 5.0 at the most. TCG2 was also, ironically, rated a 4.6 (but that's after a thousand-something votes whereas TCG3 has only had about a hundred), and that was even with Kenny Ortega's help. And TCG1 was a 3.6, so really in the large scale of things, all three movies have been pretty consistent. I honestly don't see how any TCG movie will get a higher rating (at least past a 5.0) ever. But as long as some people out there still enjoy them, then hey, that's all that counts I guess.

DC Games '08: Update

*yawn* Sooo... not much to update about the 3rd ep of the DC Games.

Brian Stepanek is SUCH a weirdo, I'll just throw that out there. To me, his humor is like a mixture of lame and creepy, with a dash of "I don't get it/That's not funny." But at least he's a bit more normal than his character, Arwin. If only we got to see a closer (and longer) close-up of the baby pics, then maybe I might find something to make fun of, *ahem* I mean, talk about. Oh, but I have to say. At one point, somebody mixed up a white, blonde baby with a black baby, and to that I say: HAHAHA. Okay, and as for the "drama" about Alyson Stoner switching teams... um, yeaaa, k, whateverrr. Like they'd actually allow that sort of thing to happen anyway. And the supposed "alliance" between Blue and Green is sooo believable too. Same goes with the JoBros feud. And whatever other feuds that are supposedly going on behind-the-scenes.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm so amused by how much they all try to convince us that everything is "real" that it ends up coming off as fake and over-the-top because they're trying too hard to make it as real as possible. If that makes any sense. The day I believe it's all real might be when I hear a slip of a curse word or see actual physical throwdown. But we all know that will never ever happen because it's the freakin' Disney Channel, and we're supposed to buy into the fact that every single DC star is an angel. *insert sarcastic remark of your choice*

Almost forgot to add. Jordan Pruitt performed "My Shoes." She's alright, I guess. Looks like pre-trainwreck Brit, only with an obviously better voice and range. Also, the international food thing gave me majorrr flashbacks of my St. Agnes days. I loved those Diversity/Multi-Cultural weeks, only because of the free food. Yall KNOW they were talking crap about the other people's foods. And what's with all the hate on the Asian food?? So freakin' what if its name is Stinky Tofu, grow up.

Well, I guess for those who are interested, I should probably spit out some relevant facts. Red Team won 1st, Blue-2nd, Yellow-3rd, and Green-4th. Overall totals: Blue and Red are tied at 40, and Yellow and Green are tied at 35. Pretty ironic. I was bored and tried to find some pattern while looking at the score board (to see if anything was obviously "fixed") but nada. But I did notice that all the teams have landed last place at one point except for the Red Team (they've been in 1st place and 3rd place twice). Only two more challenges to go, so we'll see who takes it.

Oh and don't forget: TCG3 premieres next Friday (8/22). Honestly never been a real TCG fan, so I'm only watching it for you guys.

Studio DC/DC Games: Reviews

Quickie post... too lazy to upload pics or anything fancy-like, just wanted to share my opinions on some things.

Today I watched Studio DC and just as I suspected, my first impression was spot on. I HATED IT. So okay, yeaa, it's different, unique, original-ish I guess. It was sooo ODD though. I was so incredibly confused and a bit uncomfortable all throughout. It was SO random and disorganized. It went from one random scene to the next. Had no idea what in the world was going on at any point in time. The Sprouse twins were the hosts (by the way, although they DID grow a few more inches, they still look like they're 12). The musical guests consisted of the infamous father-daughter duo, those 3 brothers everyone is gaga over, and Tizz. The script is just bleh, and the Muppets were kinda annoying after all. I won't go into too much detail for those who want to see and judge for yourselves. This is definitely not my kind of show, but I do have to admit it's a good, clean, fun show for the kiddies.

Also, saw the 2nd episode of the DC Games the other day. Um, the cheer-off competition they had was so LAME and immature. We're definitely seeing more catiness amongst everyone, especially with the JoBros, but who knows how much of that is staged and whatnot. Holy CRAP at making some of them blindfolded. And okay, at first I thought they'd all be literally tied by the wrists but they were just holding on to the ropes, which I guess is more difficult. Well, flash forward and the Yellow Team won, 2nd-Green, 3rd-Red, 4th-Blue. The Green Team is leading overall, followed by the Yellow and Blue Teams tied, and lastly the Red Team. By the way, I read on Wiki that Brenda Song has been the only DC star to be Team Captain every single year since the Games started back in '06, and this is the 2nd time she's been the captain for the Red Team (the other being the Blue Team in '06). Hmm, interesting. At least no one can say DC is racist or anything, lol.

Oh, how I hate to admit this, but I need to get it out. So the JoBros performed "Burnin' Up" at the end, and for all of yall reading this blog, yall know I'm not a fan at all. But there was this one move that Nick did very early on with the microphone (he like flipped it with one hand) that I honestly thought, for just one second, was, well.... kind of HOT. OMG, I can't believe those thoughts even crossed my mind. Same when Joe went on his tippy toes for a couple seconds during the one lyric. Gah, what is WRONG with me?! I am disgusted with myself now. Nick is practically a decade younger than me, plus he's the same age as my little brother. Well all three of them are a lot younger than me. Sheesh. But yea, as pervy as it is, I have to give Nick some credit. Out of the three guys, that boy's swag is definitely on-point. Next up on the swag scale is Joe. Sorry, but Kevin just does NOTHING AT ALL for me. It'd be SO much better if they didn't all wear such freakin' tight skinny white pants all the time (*coughJOEcough*) or fold up the ends of their said skinny tight pants in a really fruity sort of way (*coughNICKcough*).

One last thing before I sign out. Referring back to the previous post about Selena and her thing for older men, I give yall a third example: Homegirl has a major crush on Shia LaBeouf (Source: IMDb). Sweetie, stick to guys your own age! And don't fall for the bad boys! ...Ha, I should be taking my own advice, LOL.

DC Games '08, Demi/Selena News, & Some Other Stuff

1) Disney Channel Games 2008

I just now saw the first episode of the DC Games. This is the first time I've ever watched the games, so bare with me.

So quickie recap of the first ep: All 37 DC stars on the bus, all giggly and cheerful (you can even hear someone say "Oh, I LOVE that show!!" HAHA). And ooo, I totally spotted Selena Gomez all cozy next to Nick Jonas (*points and laughs at Slimey*). So once they all get there, Brian Stepanek (aka Arwin from The Suite Life) makes the intros, meets and greets with the stars, and shows them all the shiny winner's cup. Then he reveals who's on which teams. The Sprouse twins supposedly missed the bus and are seen trying to rush getting to the games in a limo, thus missing the entire first challenge. Speaking of the first challenge (the "Chariot of Champions"), I would've felt pretty darn retarded if I had to do that. It honestly looked really hard to put all those pieces together! I would've been like, "Yall, seriously?? Do I LOOK like a mechanic to you?!" LOL. But I guess it's good that they not only test physical strength, but mental as well.

Anyway, Team Blue won first round (and besides the 20 pts awarded to them, also had happy hour in the muy special club tent). Then Green took 2nd, Red-3rd, and Yellow-4th. Oh, and Miley Cyrus performed her new song, "Breakout," but I hit the *mute* button so don't ask me how it was, I was just happy she wasn't actually playing in the games (and I bet SHE is too, considering her supposed "rival" is all up on her ex-man, LOL).

Other performers will include Jordan Pruitt (singing "One Love"), Jonas Brothers ("Burnin' Up" and "SOS"), The Cheetah Girls ("Dance Me If You Can," "One World," and "Cheetah Love"), and Demi Lovato ("That's How You Know," "Get Back," and "This Is Me" with Joe Jonas).

For more backstage/info/etc, go to the main DC Games site for the Inside Track: Overtime, hosted by Meaghan Jette Martin and Cody Linley. Oh, and just to warn yall if you haven't been to the site yet: be prepared to get DIZZY when you visit the teams and player profiles. Looks super nifty, but mannn I got DIZZY!

I had no idea they were playing these games for charity, that's nice. The charities are: Make-A-Wish Foundation (Red Team), Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation (Blue Team), UNICEF (Yellow Team), and Boys & Girls Club of America (Green Team).

By the way, if any of yall are curious as to who's all in what teams and when they're showing the next episodes, here ya go:

There'll only be 5 events featured, starting from July 27 to August 30 (the 2nd episode will air August 2, the 3rd on August 9, the 4th on August 16, and the 5th on August 30). Or, for a more detailed list of US airings, please refer here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1229903/episodes.

The Cyclones (Green Team)
David Henrie (Team Captain)
Joe Jonas
Chelsea Staub
Jason Dolley
Jennifer Stone
Dylan Sprouse
Brad Kavanaugh (UK)
Maria Clara Alonso (Argentina)
Ambra Lo Faro (Italy)

The Lightning (Blue Team)
Kiely Williams (Team Captain)
Demi Lovato
Alyson Stoner
Cole Sprouse
Shin Koyamada (Japan)
Isabella Soric (Germany)
Roshon Fegan
Roger Gonzalez (Mexico)
Muhammad Farez Bin Juraimi (Singapore)

The Inferno (Red Team)
Brenda Song (Team Captain)
Nick Jonas
Jasmine Richards
Ana Maria Perez de Tagle
Mitchel Musso
Adrienne Bailon
Jason Earles
Jake T. Austin
Deniz Akdeniz (Australia)
Rafael Baronesi (Brazil)

The Comets (Yellow Team)
Kevin Jonas (Team Captain)
Selena Gomez
Kyle Massey
Sabrina Bryan
Moises Arias
Kunal Sharma (TCG3)
Andrea Guasch (Spain)
Yi-Chun Chou (Taiwan)
Martin Barlan (France)

Oy, wayyy too many people from the DC Games to tag. I really want to find pics of the teams, even just the team logos would be great, but it's so hard to find any. And even when I DO stumble upon some, I can never tell which year they're from.

2) Miscellanous Reminders/Upcoming Projects

- DC Games '08: Episodes
The second episode will premiere this Saturday, August 2 at 8/7c.
Episode 3 = Saturday, August 9
Episode 4 = Saturday, August 16
Episode 5 = Saturday, August 30

- Studio DC: Almost Live
The premiere for this (really weird) show is this Sunday, August 3 at 8/7c.

- 3-Minute Game Show
So here's another (blegh) new-ish show hosted by Meaghan Jette Martin.
It premieres on Saturday, August 9 at 9/8c.
Um, I honestly don't know what in the world this is, nor do I care that much. Apparently it's a game show, and it's 3 minutes long. Supposedly there was a HSM edition of this last year, but I never heard about it. But this year it's the Camp Rock edition and that's pretty much where my attention span stopped during the promo. Sorry.

- The Cheetah Girls: One World
For all those TCG fans out there who surely already know, The Cheetah Girls 3: One World premieres on Friday, August 22 at 8/7c.
Still a bit far but we're seeing more and more promos for this lately so I thought I might as well throw that in too.

3) Princess Protection Program

Famous BFFs, Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato, have a new movie coming out in January 2009 called, Princess Protection Program. Reminds me an awful lot like ABCFamily's original movie that premiered earlier this year, Princess. Anyway, there are LOTS of cast/outtake pics here: http://pure-hollywood.blogspot.com/. It's like the 5th post down.

So, uh, about that pic. That is SOME gown. What's with the red/blue sash thing?? Anyhow, she looks exactly like Belle from Beauty & the Beast! Sorry couldn't find any teaser posters or anything yet. Hopefully there'll be some next time there's an update post on this.

Not to sound racist, but you know how Demi Lovato usually always looks very Caucasian?? Same with Selena Gomez. I mean, if I had no idea what their names were, I'd honestly think they were BOTH white. Maybe it's just me, but for the very first time Demi looks fairly Hispanic in that pic. Both Demi and Selena are typically Caucasian-looking, yet they do still acknowledge their Hispanic and Mexican heritage, respectively. In WoWP, Selena's character is half-Mexican. And in PPP (not to be confused with Potter Puppet Pals, LOL), Demi's character's name is Princess Rosalinda. Also, let's not forget her Camp Rock character's last name of Torres.

I'm not dissing, don't get me wrong. I'm just simply acknowledging a fact that you rarely see nowadays. So many mixed stars acknowledge and emphasize ONLY half of their heritage and completely ignore or disregard the other half. Not mentioning any names, but some celebs who are half black and half white only "act more black" or vice versa. Same with those who are half Asian and half white, etc. I'm not Mexican or Hispanic, and I may not be a huge fan of either girl, but good for them for not being ashamed of their roots.

4) Another Cinderella Story

Also in the aforementioned site are info and pics from Selena's new movie, Another Cinderella Story (aka A Cinderella Story 2), which comes out on DVD, September 16.

Straight to DVD?? Hmm. And it says on IMDb that the release date is September 4, but I guess it got pushed back. I don't really blame them. LOL at the tagline ("Dancing Ever After") and totally say WHATTT at the storyline?! Instead of dropping the phone, she drops her iPod. Oh, and she's a dancer. So basically, Another Cinderella Story = a G-rated Step Up + A Cinderella Story. Wayyy original.

I'm surprised that Drew Seeley is in it. He's like HOW much older than Selena?? A DECADE?!?! Literally, they're exactly a decade apart. Just, EWWW. Seriously. Homie's 26, and she JUST turned 16 (last week, to be exact). That'd be like kissing your best friend's older brother. Wait, no, not even your best friend's older brother. Your best friend's oldEST brother who just finished medical school and is house hunting and getting ready to start his residency in another state while YOU just barely started high school. Meh.

Oh, and I JUST found out that in Princess Protection Program, Selena's character's love interest is 7 years older than her in real life (this dude named Robert Adamson). What is UP with all these OLDER men?! =/

5) Oh, The Tizz...

LOL at Ashley Tisdale. Another tidbit from that site I mentioned above: about 2nd to last post it quotes Tizz saying how much she wants to shed her goody-good image and do more "racy" and "edgy" projects in the near future, a lot like how Jessica Biel broke out after 7th Heaven and did those, well, very naughty pics. =/ Oh, and kids... if you don't know what I'm talking about, just smile and move on. Yeakthx:)

Seriously, I canNOT picture Tizz in that light. Even though she is very well at a reasonable age to do such things if she wants, and I DO think she should grow up a little and stop acting like the tweeny that she NO LONGER IS (homegirl is 23 for goodness sakes, NOT 15!!). But to go in that drastic route is probably a bit too much, and I hope she doesn't go overboard. First, Maxim, and then what?? =/ Too many DC stars go bad nowadays, especially the really young ones, and it'd be a shame to see that happen to Tizz.

---

SayWHAT?!

Whoo, long time no post!! So okayyy... what's new?! Besides the fact that summer's almost over. =/ I don't know about yall, but I'm pretty freakin' ready for the fall sem to start. I've been SO bored for the past two months; this has been the absolute most unproductive summer everrr.

Anyway, so I barely ever watch DC anymore. The only time I catch DC is whenever my younger brother turns it on right before we go to bed (which is like around 3-5am) because he likes watching the cartoons (Lilo & Stitch, The Little Mermaid, Dave The Barbarian, The Emperor's New School, Kim Possible, etc). But here are a few blips I've caught lately:

1) Disney Channel Games '08
I seriously could've sworn these premiered already, but nope. The other day I saw a promo that said it premieres this Sunday, July 27 at 8/7c.

By the way, not sure if that pic is from this year or last year. But still. LOL at all the poses and randomness of it all. I'm easily amused, what can I say.

2) Wizards of Waverly Place: Wizard School

Um, yea. So they're coming out with WoWP's first DVD on July 29.

It'll have 90 min. of 4 episodes (Disenchanted Evening, Curb Your Dragon, Wizard School Part I, & Wizard School Part II), also including exclusive cast interviews, backstage and behind the scenes features like "Work It Like A Wizard," and much more.

I'm honestly quite surprised about this. I didn't think WoWP was THAT huge of a hit that they'd actually come out with a DVD for it. Or maybe they're just TRYING to make it a bigger hit, just like what they've been trying to do with everything else on DC nowadays (ie Camp Rock, The Cheetah Girls 3, etc).

3) Studio DC: Almost Live!
Uhh, I don't really know what the heck this is and what weirdo (on happy juice) came up with it, but apparently it's like this new variety show that premieres on Sunday, August 3 at 8/7c. I only saw like a fraction of the promo for this last night, and I got immediately turned off by it, but that's just me and my old age creeping in I guess.

It's basically the Muppets with a bunch of the DC stars like Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale, Jonas Brothers, and the Sprouse twins. There will be singing, dancing, comedy sketches, backstage antics, etc. Miley Cyrus and the Electic Mayhem will perform her song "GNO" (what kind of song name is that?! and besides, never heard of it but don't really care either way), Ashley Tisdale and Kermit the Frog will perform "Bop To The Top" (LMFAO!!), Miss Piggy will attempt to join the JoBros by convincing them she's a long-lost Jonas sister (pfff uh huh okayyy), Kermit and Gonzo will join the cast of The Suite Life for a comedic skit (err?), and many more.

Oh how I wish I was joking about all this, but if yall don't believe me, just go here:
http://www.muppetnewsflash.com/2008/07/studio-dc-almost-live-moves-to-august.html

4) Picture This!
I know this is like SUPER late and I'm sure yall have seen it already, but I just thought I'd throw it out there since it IS Disney-related and it wasn't mentioned on here yet.
[EDIT: Apparently I DID mention it already. And just ONE post ago. Oy, I'm going senile, I swearrr.]

This movie is like the most ridiculous movie EVERRR. Seriously, there are countless "say WHAT?!" moments throughout. Though I must say, as ridiculous as it is, it IS entertaining. I like to think that it's one of those movies that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm just still surprised I found that picture of the DVD, as well as the fact that there WILL be a DVD coming out for this. Just, wow.

Oh, and I just wanna say... I never thought that Robbie Amell was that hot in Life With Derek, but he certainly does look mucho yummy in this movie. Especially in that scene where he comes out of the pool. *drools* LOL at the "Adonis" ref. And LMAO at "I will deflower you in the shower in my tower" HAHAHA, classic! Oh, those Canadians. Gotta love 'em.

Also another side note: LOL at Tizz's name in WAY huger font than the actual movie title.

---

Alrighty, that's about all for now I guess! Enjoy the rest of yalls summer!!! :)

HSM Trois Pimping

I can't decide if I want to LOL or roll my eyes at this.

Sooo... Ashley Tisdale's new movie, Picture This!, will be premiering on ABCFamily this Sunday, July 13 at 8/7c.
And Tizzy, herself, adds onto the mucho promos that during the movie she'll give us a first look at HSM3.

Oh, and what else?? Ah, yes, of course. Disney Channel is also giving us a first look at HSM3. When? ....SUNDAY!! (Yes, the same Sunday.)

It's Camp Rock all over again, I swear.

At least Zanessa pimped it on DC, and not Tizzy. 'Cause I do likes the Zanessa. <3

Random July Drabble

I can't believe it's already July. Where has this summer gone?! Oh yea, that's right... *not* studying for MCAT and developing jacked up sleeping patterns. Ugh.

Let me just say first and foremost, I have seriously stopped watching Disney Channel eversince Camp Rock premiered. I won't deny it. As soon as I saw the commercial about the Rock-Along, that pretty much did it for me. *insert bleepage* I'm sorry, but I just can't get into all this. I learned to accept it with HSM. I liked HSM, but I was never like the hugest fan. But with this? I just can't. I tried to, I really did, but it's just not happening.

So I speak on behalf of myself and Atoosa as well, I'm just going to say this straight up and keep it real with all of you: to those out there following our blog, don't expect us to be one of those other blogs who constantly know the 411 on the JoBros, Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, and Camp Rock. That's what specific fansites are for. The point of this blog is to update and discuss all things Disney-related. Please keep in mind that Disney is NOT all about the JoBros, Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, and Camp Rock (as opposed to what Disney Channel portrays nowadays). This does not mean we will never mention them in our posts, but it just means we will not focus on those aforementioned topics a great deal unless it's important enough to mention.

So having said all that, there really isn't much to update concerning the Disney Channel. Besides all the DCOMs every day, there have been new episodes premiering for Life With Derek, Wizards of Waverly Place, and Hannah Montana, as well as Phineas & Ferb (if there are any fans of that show out there). It's about freakin' time they showed some new eps of Wizards. I don't know about yall but I was getting reeeally tired of seeing the same ones over and over.

That's about as much as I know right now. Like I said, haven't watched Disney Channel in ages. Lately I've been really hooked on What I Like About You. SUCH a hilarious show, I really recommend watching it if you haven't before. It's on Mon-Fri at 3/4c on ABCFamily. Speaking of ABCFamily, WHAT in the name of all that is holy at The Secret Life of the American Teenager?! This and Jamie Lynn and -- why the heck not, let's even include Ali Lohan in the mix -- are the reasons why our youth is so corrupted. Oh crap, I'm starting to sound like an old fart, now. Seriously people, it is NOT okay to pop out babies at the age of 15!! Although Mean Girls wasn't my favorite movie, sometimes I wish the tweenies really believed that one quote from it about dying if you had sex.

There's nothing in this post really worth tagging. Just a random quickie for the sake of updating... as well as procrastinating on what I *should* be doing instead. *coughMCATcough*

Camp Rock Review Pt. 2

Okay, I bet some of you are wondering why there's a part two. Well, I feel a bit like I "sugar-coated" the first review I made because, frankly, I didn't feel like getting bombarded with comments from tweens defending their beloved JoBros. I know what it's like to be young and able to get easily carried away with these things. They make it sound like it's so much fun and it's the bestest thing ever in the whole entire world, but in reality it's really not. Not to sound like an old fart, but sometimes it really is best not to follow the crowd; mainstream isn't always a good thing. Instead of thinking for yourself, you end up allowing other people to give you your opinions without even your realizing it. It's very easy to get sucked into this. Don't make yourself vulnerable to being "fed" and "brainwashed." So yes, that's my mini-soapbox for the day.

I stumbled upon this review on IMDb that I thought was really well-put. I think it explains it better than I could, so here it is:

---

"Disney Channel Movies no longer what they used to be"

I have always been a fan of Disney Original Movies. They don't try to be more than what they are, and get the most out of the obviously limited budget they have. Disney had a great run of Original Movies in the late 90s/early 2000s, but ever since Disney caught lightning in a bottle with High School Musical in 2006, the production brand has been on a decline.

High School Musical was the pinnacle of what Disney Original Movies were. Low budget but good film, believable characters, and plot that fits the movie. What kept High School Musical's integrity in check was the fact that none of the movie's stars were household names yet. They may have been known, but no where near mainstream. High School Musical is what made the stars of the movie into household names and into the mainstream.

Disney was obviously so blindsighted by the success of High School Musical that they have tried to recapture that success with High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock.

HSM2 was the DEFINITION of sellout. Not only did Disney basically recycle the plot of HSM, but the entire movie was fanservice. Fanservice to appeal to the preteen/teenage girl demographic who spends hours a day online looking up the latest news on "Zashley" or "Zanessa" or whatever you call it. Disney knew its High School Musical fanbase wanted to see more of Zac Efron/Vanessa Hudgens romance on screen, as well as Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale romance. The producers sold out their artistic integrity for the sake of appealing to the fanbase. High School Musical 2 of course was a success and "THE BEST MOVIE EVER!" for the fanbase, because it was fanservice. But as a neutral observer, HSM2 was terrible. Like I pointed out before, they took no risks at all.

Unfortunately, Camp Rock suffers the same fate. After seeing the movie last night, I was disappointed. Once again, Disney sells out to its fanbase.

The movie is basically High School Musical at a summer camp. It uses a similar plot line with the same "types" of characters. It's obvious that Disney was just trying to capture the HSM lightning in a bottle again with this movie.

Disney takes its hottest property this side of Hannah Montana with the Jonas Brothers and makes them the centerpiece of the movie. That automatically will draw in millions of teenage fans who adore the Jonas Brothers. Unfortunately, the Jonas Brothers do not perform their roles well at all. I really think that this movie could have been far better if they replaced the Jonas Brothers with lesser known actors. This way the screenwriters may not have sold out with their scenes that involve the Jonas Brothers. The Jonas Brothers roles are exactly what the fans want. Love, singing, and romance.

At least Disney channel saved some of its dignity by casting Demi Lovato for the role of Mitchy. Disney could have easily slotted someone like Miley Cyrus or another bigger teenage star in her role, but didn't. Like I said, a key to High School Musical's success was using lesser known actors in their roles, and I think using Demi Lovato was the main character in this film helped save it from total disaster. She did her role well, and could have been much more if the Jonas Brothers were replaced with lesser known actors to give the film some genuinity.

Other supporting/minor roles are filled with lesser known Disney Stars.

The movie's plot is basically High School Musical at a summer camp, like I stated before. I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't go into detail, but there are too many cheesy/unnecessary scenes in the film, obviously for fanservice.

The songs and choreography are very stale. No memorable songs, and all of them are rather generic and similar to each other. I would say the songs are worse than both High School Musical movies, but maybe because they are too similar to the High School Musical songs rather than being creative. The choreography is also boring. Can't we get creative like "Stick to the Status Quo" was in High School Musical, or do we have to be treated to the same generic "triangle formation" choreography that has plagued High School Musical 2, and now, Camp Rock?

In conclusion, I think that the film could have been much better without the Jonas Brothers. They are not fit for the roles, and were put in there to gain viewer interest. The movie would not have suffered with out them, and actually would have improved.

By no means am I telling fans of the Jonas Brothers or Disney to not watch this movie. If you liked High School Musical/High School Musical 2 and love the Jonas Brothers, you will love this movie. You will love Demi Lovato. I fully expect dozens of "Jonato" watch blogs(for those who will inevitably wish for Demi Lovato and a Jonas Brother hook up after seeing this film) to sprout up by next week. She will be the next "big thing" for Disney. This movie is made just for people like that.

But for neutral observers, and people who are interested but not really fans of the Jonas Brothers/Disney Original Movies, or who don't really know what Disney Original Movies/Jonas Brothers are all about, avoid this movie. It's too generic, cheesy, and linear. If you hated High School Musical 2, you will hate this.

I love the Disney Channel, as a 21 year old Radio-TV-Film Major in College, I adore many Disney Movies and Programs. But not this. I actually think the word "Original" in "Disney Original Movie" should stand for something, not just the generic garbage they have pedaled out since High School Musical.

Was High School Musical the last great, full of integrity and dignity, non-sellout, non-fanservice Disney Original Movie that Disney made? I hope not.

---

Camp Rock Review

Alright! So I watched it. Whyyy I did is just beyond me. But here's my review on it, so....

***SPOILER ALERT***

So I'm doing this review while it's still fairly fresh in my mind. There was seriously nothing else on tonight (that I wanted to watch, anyway) so I thought to myself, why the heck not?! I think it's pretty darn amusing that I ended up watching this with my family. It's hilarious how even my dad is getting annoyed by all the promos and how the JoBros and Miley Cyrus are constantly made such big deals. He kept going on and on about how annoying and fake Demi Lovato's smile is, and how slutty everyone looked (but he thinks that about ALL the Disney Channel girls). Really, I'm just glad that Slimey wasn't in it, since she just loooves to be in everything. I kept hoping she wouldn't have some random cameo or something.

In all honesty, it wasn't THAT bad. But it wasn't like, "OMG that was the bestest movie I've ever seen!!!" either. It was just so-so to me. I think that if it didn't get SOO MUCH hype and they didn't show the music videos and promos for it ALL THE TIME, I wouldn't have been so impartial to it early on. Well, those reasons as well as my impartialness to the JoBros. I still can't believe it got a 6.2 on IMDb, but actually right now when I checked on it, it went down to a 5.3!! WOW, big jump. I can accept that though. I didn't think it was better than HSM or HSM2 (which got a 5.5 and a 5.0, respectively), but I didn't think it was worse, either.

So with all that being said, first thing I have to say is how surprised I am that Nick and Kevin Jonas were hardly in the movie. Seriously, they were only in like 3 or 4 scenes. Not that I'm complaining that Joe got all the screen time, but yes, if I had to pick a favorite JoBro it would be him. By the way, Connect 3 is one of the most ridiculous band names everrr.

The music was actually okay. Again, if it didn't get so much hype and if I hadn't seen the "We Rock" video like fifty gazillion times, I probably would've thought differently. I actually liked "Gotta Find You" by Joe Jonas. The song that Jasmine Richards sings, "Here I Am", is also pretty good. Same with "This Is Me" by Demi Lovato. The supposed hip-hop and reggae songs weren't that spectacular to me, but then again I'm used to listening to a bit harder core hip-hop/rap. I really wish Ana Maria Perez de Tagle had a solo, she also has an AMAZING voice (her being in one of the hip-hop songs doesn't really count). Speaking of Ana Maria, she pretty much played the same character as she did in Hannah Montana, only a bit less dumber/ditzier. I don't know if I really like Meaghan Jette Martin's acting. She seemed like she was trying too hard to play the bad girl, so it came off as forced and fake to me. I also wish we saw more of Alyson Stoner performing. She only had like one solo moment and even that was cut short thanks to Tess (Meaghan Jette Martin).

As for the "romance" between Shane (Joe Jonas) and Mitchie (Demi Lovato), I think it could've been developed more. It's like they just started hanging out a bit out of the blue. Well, after they randomly run into each other, which resulted in them randomly running into each other a second time. Don't get me wrong, it was kinda cute and sweet at some points. I'm still a bit bummed that they never kissed. This is JUST like it was at the end of HSM. Urgh! Please don't tell me they plan on making a Camp Rock 2 and then have us wait until the very, very, VERY end for them to kiss?! Oy vey, that was frustrating.

There're just a few things that puzzle me. When I looked up the soundtrack on Amazon, I noticed that Jasmine Richards isn't listed as the singer for "Here I Am", but it's someone else named Renee Sandstrom. WHAA?? And I also don't get why she didn't use her character's name, Peggy, and instead went by a different name before she was introduced on stage. There are a few more things I'm a bit confused about... well, just things that I thought were going to happen differently based on subtle hints dropped but didn't exactly happen that way. But that's just me, so don't mind me and my natural state of confusion. Speaking of confusion, am I the only one who TOTALLY missed the character intros?? Seriously, besides Shane, Mitchie, Caitlyn, and Tess, I had NO idea what the names of the other cast members were.

So in case y'all weren't aware, Camp Rock is taking up the ENTIRE weekend, all up until Monday. On Sunday, it's premiering on ABC Family as well, and it's "the first Disney Channel original movie to have access rights to other cable networks of the Disney company from ABC to ABC Family in airing the film's screen debut." That's straight from IMDb, by the way. And yes, it'll be on ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, as well as Disney.com. That's FOUR different places, y'all!! Besides its world premiere, JoBros is also premiering their new music video for "Burnin' Up", which features Selena Gomez as Nick's girl (*points and laughs at Slimey*). And if you watch the premiere on ABC Family, you'll get to see a premiere of a new episode of Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream. And as if that wasn't enough, they also finally showed a more detailed promo for The Cheetah Girls 3 (it sounds like the other songs besides "One World" are better, at least just based on the teensy clip I heard). It's premiere-overload, I tell ya!

Okay, I think I'll stop there. Please feel free to share your thoughts on the movie! These are just my honest opinions, so please no bashing of mine and I won't bash yours. ;)

Happy Birthday Shia!

Happy 22st Birthday to...

SHIA LaBEOUF

At 22, Shia's starred in films such as Indiana Jones, Transformers, Disturbia, and Bobby... plus he'll be in the upcoming Eagle Eye, New York I Love You, and Transformers 2.

A pretty impressive line-up, I'd say... he's come a long way since Even Stevens!

And here's to many more birthdays. I'm glad that Shia has continued to be serious and passionate about acting and has not gone overboard like *some other former child stars.* I've been a fan of Shia since 2002 and I'd like to stay that way. Other than that infamous Walgreens incident (which we can all pretend never happened...) I applaud Shia for continuing to stay grounded. :)

Fairly Pointless Disney Channel Update

Yes, as the title implies, this is a fairly pointless Disney Channel update, indeed. Great way to start the month of June, yea? ^_- But really, though. I'd rather make a post like this than a post solely devoted to Camp Rock (at least not yet, anyway). Now, onto the random fairly pointless Disney Channel updates! :)

1) Totally Rockin' Summer Movies

Yes, yes, y'all! All summer long, every day at noon, Disney Channel's showing all your favorite movies all summer long!! Wow, that was seriously like verbatim from the promo. I'm starting to scare myself.

So here are the movies shown in the promo. No idea what particular days they'll be shown, though.

Monsters, Inc.
The Wild
The Incredibles
Nanny McPhee
Minutemen
Herbie Fully Loaded
The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
Finding Nemo
Jump In!
Dr. Dolittle 3
The Cheetah Girls 2
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Johnny Kapahala: Back On Board
Chicken Little
Twitches Too
Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior
Cadet Kelly

...Plus a few more that, in my opinion, will most likely premiere sometime too. Some of them have already been on in the past few weeks, and I'm betting they'll be on again soon.

Holes
Freaky Friday
Read It & Weep
Cow Belles
Get A Clue
Pixel Perfect
The Even Stevens Movie
Spy Kids 1, 2, & 3
The Princess Diaries
High School Musical 1 & 2
The Cheetah Girls
The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Model Behavior
My Date With the President's Daughter
Twitches

Double Teamed

I would SO tag all of those movies but apparently there's a limit to the labels on here. *pouts*

2) Minutemen on DVD

Yup, Minutemen is now available on DVD, wootwoot! Its bonus features contain a never-before-seen extended ending, a behind-the-scenes look on the making of Minutemen, and Corbin Bleu's "Run It Back Again" music video.

A bit off topic but still pretty relevant: Every time I see the promo for this, as well as every other movie soon to be out on DVD or theatres, I want to punch my TV. Not because of the movie in particular, but because I HATE "The Really Short Report." It is THE corniest, dumbest, most annoying crap EVER. This is probably not very Disney-like, but I seriously have the urge to punch those kids. Am I the only one who feels this way? Honestly, I have never missed "Mike's Super Short Show" more than ever before. I never thought I'd say that in this lifetime. Sad, quite sad.

3) Hidden Talents

So ya'll know about the "Show Your Stuff" dealio, right? Where kids show their "cool" stuff? Holy crap, again with the verbatim. I need help. Well, you name it: from bugs, to coins, Pez dispensers, stuffed cows, toy cars, the list goes on.

Now Disney Channel has a new and similar dealio called "Hidden Talents." It shows a random kid doing three different talents and it makes you guess which talent is the correct one; actually, you have to pick a door, to be exact. When the correct talent is revealed, they give a short preview of the kid doing their special thang while their family is shown as an audience, all grinning and proud.

Yet another amusing thing for me to point and laugh at. ....Kidding! Sort of.

4) Disney Channel Games

They've been pimping this a lot lately, I've noticed. According to Mikey from Disney 365 (can't quite decide if this guy is metro or what), everyone sounds pumped for the games!! GAHH when am I going to stop with the verbatim-ness?! This proves to ya'll how much I watch the Disney Channel.

Maybe it's just me who's confused about this, but why don't they ever show the actual games on the Disney Channel?? I've only ever seen bits and pieces at various times, like who's all on what team, which team is leading, which team won whatever, which team ended up winning the entire thing, etc. I think it'd be totally interesting to actually watch the games in its entirety. This is a super odd suggestion coming from me, since I'm the most anti-sports person ever. But I'm totally for it, really.

NOTE: Make sure to check out Atoosa's post before this. It has TONSSS of awesome videos on the stars and the Disney Channel Games!

5) Miscellaneous

I am NOT pimping Camp Rock yet. For all you die-hard JoBros and Demi Lovato fans, y'all will just have to wait another week. But yes, as predicted, Disney Channel is pimping Camp Rock more and more each week.. day, even.

[EDIT]: Y'all know Camp Rock is premiering on June 20. I just found out today that Camp Rock is also premiering on ABCFamily on June 22. Like, seriously, WHAT?! Is ABCFam now merged with Disney Channel or something?? I've seen promos of Disney movies from ABCFam shown on the Disney Channel a couple of times, so it makes me wonder a bit.

Hmm, what other pimpage has been out there. Ah, yes. DisneyMania, Vol. 6 is out! That's being pimped quite a bit lately, as well. In particular, interviews with Demi Lovato (and Mikey asking her to sing), how Demi and Selena feel about being on the same CD together for the first time (dang those two are joined at the hip like whoaa), Mitchel Musso and Emily Osment talk about their duet (aww!), and Jordan Pruitt wanting to meet the other half of the Disney stars. Yea, ok.

[EDIT]: I just now saw Mitchel and Emily's duet of "If I Didn't Have You." OMG SQUEALS!!!! How freakin' ADORABLE are they?!?! I am so totally a Mitchel/Emily shipper, on aaand off screen (just like another fave couple of mine *coughHHRcough* LOL). I heart Mitchel, that boy's swag is RIDICULOUS.

Let's not forget: The Cheetah Girls 3 is still being pimped, too, every now and then. We're told to watch out for "Dance Me If You Can", because it's like supposedly the best and most dynamic dance number out of the whole movie. Alright, that was *almost* verbatim.

---

I'm probably forgetting something, but I'll stop there for now. This has pretty much gone long enough, considering it's supposed to be such a fairly pointless Disney Channel update. What can I say, I'm incapable of composing short anything.

Disney Stars Are Just Like Us, PART TROIS!!

Here we go again... these Disney Channel stars LOVE their video cameras! Now more than ever, our favorite Disney actors are starting to become more transparent with their lives and displaying them to the public.

Well, it's certainly been working! We know much more now about our favorite celebrities and who we watch on television that we did less than a decade ago, and it's certainly amusing, to say the least!

If these videos have anything to say for it, the third annual Disney Channel Games is by far the most fun and exciting one yet... anndddd I'm kind of jealous. I want to be a Disney Channel star so I can jump on giant air playgrounds and be part of a three-legged race or whatever the heck they do at the Games. It sure beats taking summer classes...

Up first, this is from Alyson Stoner's page... it's really weird to see all of them interacting together. It's OVERLOAD I tell you! What's with the lack of HSM people? Oh wait, they're in Utah right now. Got it. BTW... bring on those international guys!

Secondly, this is from Sabrina Bryan's page. That is some SERIOUS make-upping going on in that bathroom. Sadly this video has disabled embedding but meanwhile you can check it out by clicking here.

Here's a third one... this is Selena Gomez, co-star Jennifer Stone from Wizards of Waverly Place, Moises Arias from Hannah Montana, and other Disney stars on an airplane flying to Orlando for the games. Oh look at them, loungin' in their private jets all fancy.

Up next...

The following is from Alyson Stoner's page. She seems so sweet! I already knew she was a dancer after appearing in Missy Elliott's video as well as Step Up, but it's nice that she's using YouTube as a way to teach dance to others. Not only is it beneficial to those who are viewing it and who are wanting to learn the dance, but it's also beneficial to her to explore this type of teaching at such a young age. It's nice that she has the motivation to take time out of her life to do such a thing (whether or not she looks at it that way specifically...)

BTW... dancing really is harder than it looks! When she did it at first I was like "pshh, that's EASY." Then she broke it down and I was like... uh, woah. Yikes. (Granted, I am THE least coordinated person EVER... no lies. You should see me dancing to Leavin' by Jesse McCartney... nevermind.)

Alright, this one is kind of old, but I just stumbled upon it. This video was right before the Dancing With The Stars semifinal last season. As you may know, Sabrina Bryan was a contestant and she was ousted way before she should have been. However, she and partner (and boyfriend) Mark Ballas came back to the semifinal show to dance their Cha Cha again!

BTW: Looove Mark Ballas. What a goofball. He grew up in England and obviously his mom has an accent from this video. Why doesn't he? Sadness. Also, serious congrats to him for winning this season with Kristi Yamaguchi!

Speaking of Sabrina Bryan, she was in India a while back filming Cheetah Girls 3 (aka... the Cheetahs go Bollywood...) and this was a little video she posted during her time there. I still think Cheetah Girls in India is THE most random thing ever but I do love Bollywood so it's all okay. :) And plus, they looked like they had tons of fun... so bring it on...

Wow, just realized that's one of their songs. Now it's in my head. grrr.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are supposedly filming the next DCOM on the line called "Princess Protection Program." And here's a little video introducing the new cast...

Selena Gomez really likes her Alicia Keys...

Meanwhile, Demi Lovato loves her new booty... (that's her on the left)

Meanwhile AGAIN... Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone really love their Jesse McCartney...

Forget that stupid dance battle with Miley Cyrus going on and which I am NOT keeping up with... this sing-along battle is much more amusing...

Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Jasmine Richards, and Sarah Francis (all from Camp Rock) are dancin' the Soulja Boy (and I must say, this version is much less annoying haha. I want to jab my ears with two gigantic erasers whenever I hear that song...)

This is Miley Cyrus BEFORE Hannah Montana ever came around... back when all was good and happy and peaceful with the world. (Alright, maybe not. But still.) Okay to me she was still as obnoxious and fug as ever back then as she is now... but you didn't hear that from me.

Seems like Selena is getting fed up with schoolwork! Oh come on, it CAN'T be as difficult as the IB. There, there's my consolation for the day.

Finally... I have no words... except wow, the Sprouse bros are nuts. Who knew? And who on EARTH is that guy? Kinda looks Andy Samberg-ish, except way younger. And frankly, he's creeping me out.

Tall, Dark, & Handsome

Ahhh these intercession classes are EXHAUSTING. I had this all written out and saved but ended up catching up on sleep for the most part of the weekend. Nice. Anyway, thanks SO MUCH for the sweet intro, Atoosa!! *big hugs* ^_^

So besides the upcoming CG3, what ELSE has been happening lately on the Disney Channel?!

1) LOTS and LOTS and LOTSSS of hype on Camp Rock

Promos Promos Promos!! It's all about the promos. And the music videos, of course. The music video for "We Rock" is constantly played during commercials. CONSTANTLY. As well as the new JoBros music video from the movie, "Play My Music." I honestly don't think they show any other music videos anymore nowadays. A couple months ago they showed Raven's "Double Dutch Bus" and JoBros' "When You Look Me In The Eyes" quite a bit, but I haven't seen those in a while.

Oh, and let's not forget the DisneyChannel.com pimping of Camp Rock!! (*points above*) Lots of fun stuff to do on there, apparently.

So don't forget, people.... JUNE 20!!! One more month away! And in case you do forget, there's a huge countdown thingy on the Camp Rock channel online. No, not kidding.

2) Prince Caspian-ness

I know Atoosa already reviewed this below (sounds great! I can't wait to see it! ^_^), but Disney IS still showing tons of Prince Caspian.

So yes, indeed. Much hype for the hunky Ben Barnes. And who's complaining?! Certainly not I. All together now, yall: *DROOL*

There's been a LOT of behind-the-scenes stuff, where they teach us how to become a Steady-Cam Operator and how to make fictional animals from scratch, yo. We chat with the stars, and I surprisingly find out that Ben doesn't use his natural British accent in the movie. Um, why?? Well, I personally like both accents. (Atoosa said it was Spanish, THANK YOUU. For the life of me I couldn't place what kind of freakin' accent that was, LOL.) By the way, anyone else notice he has a butt-chin?! Kinda cute after a while. Wow, this is getting random.

So from what I've been reading on message boards, many are raging over the romance between Caspian and Susan. I've never read the books (and hard to believe, but I haven't gotten a chance to even see the first movie yet), but all I can say is... that kiss looks HOT. And from the trailer, it looks like Susan makes the first move. You go girl!!

Last piece of randomness, I swear: I just want to say, I am SO glad that Asian girl on the Movie Surfers finally dyed her hair one color and FINALLY got rid of those hideous red ends. Nothing against highlights. But I was definitely not feelin' THOSE kinds of highlights.

3) David Henrie grows out his hair

Oh, David, whyyy?? You were so much cuter with short hair. *pouts* Well, keep an eye out for him on the slopes with some Disney interviewer named, Chucky, playing the new HSM2 and Cory In The House games on Nintendo DS, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Or you can just check this out (though his hair looks a bit longer in that promo I mentioned). By the way, anyone else think this looks MIGHTY cozy? ;)

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer short hair on guys. Take exhibit A....

How freakin' PIMP is that jacket?! Gawd, I miss Ricky. SO MUCH.

Moving on to.... But seriously, this new trend nowadays where ALL the guys grow out their hairs and have it all over their faces is just NOT attractive to me. I think it definitely suits some guys, like Jason Dolley and Mitchel Musso.

Wow, I really randomed this post out the wazoo.

I'm Back!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated this blog in a while. I had to study for five finals and then went back home for a week and a half - it was a much-needed break!

Anyway, some cool news: this blog now has a co-blogger, my very good friend Analyn! Welcome!! She already wrote a rockin' post below mine about the new Cheetah Girls movie so check it out!

Another piece of cool news: last night, I flew back into Boston and guess who was on my plane? None other than the folks from Metro Station! For those of you who may not know who they are and why they are relevant to Disney, they're comprised of Miley Cyrus and Mitchel Musso's brothers - Trace and Mason (as well as two others).

It was kind of funny... either nobody recognized them or nobody wanted to go up to them, because they just grabbed their instruments and left with no buzz or anything. I would have gone up to them, but it was way too awkward. I'm not a huge fan, but I do like some of their songs, such as Seventeen Forever.

EDIT 5/20: So am I totally out of the loop on things; I had NO idea the Z100 Zootopia concert was going on this weekend in New York. Supposedly Metro Station was there performing... Saturday night! As in, the guys on my plane most likely weren't them. Maybe they were their backstage crew or something. I was so sure it was them! I mean, there were four guys, and they looked like the guys in the picture above... but unless Metro Station discovered how to be in two places at a time (which if so, they should really hook me up with that!) then the four guys on my plane probably weren't them. What a bummer. I am so crushed!

Maybe they have their own personal high-speed "metro station" that takes them to New York in like, a span of five minutes. Hey, it could be done... *thinks about that train that's going to run from Las Vegas to Disneyland*

Alright, I'm only kidding - in case you couldn't tell. :)

I also saw THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN on Friday. Overall verdict: pretty good movie. I personally enjoyed the first one a little better, though. The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe had more "magic" in it than Caspian did; Caspian was filled with way too many battle scenes and fighting. In fact, it was a little TOO violent for my taste; it was trying too hard to be like Lord of the Rings or even Gladiator. And let's face it, this is a PG-rated Disney movie...

Also, I have only read The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe (not Prince Caspian) by CS Lewis but I do recall that the battle scene in TLWW was like maybe 3-4 pages max. It was all like "The Pevensies fought. With swords. They killed the evil guys. The evil guys died. The Narnians came back to life and all was happy again." Whereas in the movie, the battle scene was like 20 minutes or so long and super intense. Hmm...

But anyway, the kids grew up quite nicely... especially Edmund and Lucy. And what else is there to say about Prince Caspian himself? Even though I would have preferred a British accent, that Spanish accent was kinda hot...

Lastly, I leave you with this LOL-worthy video of the Cyrus family at the zoo back in 1997. WOAH THERE Billy Ray's mullet! It really was "business in the front, party in the back!" Was it just me or did he seem more excited about being at the zoo than his kids? LOL. And check out their mom's hair as well. I also admit that while I'm not a Miley fan, she was the most adorable little kid ever in this video... what happened?!

Cheetahs In India

Hey everyone!!! Filming The Cheetah Girls One World for eight weeks on location in Udaipur and Mumbai has been a challenging but exciting experience for the girls, who say they’ve become big fans of India’s music and food.

“They told us before we left, ‘Girls, it’s kind of scary,’ but I love it! We’ve had a blast,” Kiely Williams told India-West on a recent phone call from Udaipur. “Bombay is so packed and busy — our car ran into an auto rickshaw and I freaked out. ‘No problem,’ said the driver!” she giggled.

“We love everything about India, and we’ve been immersing ourselves in the culture. I love kathi rolls — I call them Indian burritos.”

In the new TV movie, which will air in the United States in August and around the world in the fall, the girls encounter rejection from New York City music producers and finally land their big break with an offer to star in what they think is a Hollywood production but turns out to be a Bollywood movie produced in India.

Aqua (Kiely Williams), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), and Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan) are eager to go, but everything changes when they arrive in India and discover the films’ shrewd producer only wants one Cheetah Girl to star in the movie. The Cheetah Girls One World is directed by Paul Hoen and also stars acclaimed actor Roshan Seth and Deepti Daryanani, a young Kolkata-born actress who starred in HBO’s “The Anatomy of Hope.”

The three Cheetah Girls, talented dancers as well as singers and actresses, have found new respect for Bollywood’s high-endurance performers, they said.

Adrienne Bailon said the film would have three or four large-scale dance numbers, including a massive and colorful piece shot at Udaipur’s Lake Palace. “I’ll be in pink,” she noted.

Williams, whose strength is hip-hop dance, says learning the new Indian style has been an eye-opener. “Hip-hop is a very introverted style, very rough and tough,” said Williams. “But the Indian dance is very feminine. The women are so graceful, so well put-together.”

Sabrina Bryan said that she had fallen in love with Udaipur’s architecture, dance, music and colors. But “being away from home has not been easy,” she said. “Communicating, with the time difference, is hard. It’s night here, and morning in the States,” she told India-West with a yawn.

The girls have not yet met any Bollywood stars, but they hoped to, they said. “What’s his name — Shah Rukh Khan? — we see his face everywhere,” said Williams. “We are trying to get him in the film!”

Sabrina Bryan feels the movie will present a unique opportunity for these girls to understand and appreciate a culture that they know nothing about. “We’ve really been able to take the Cheetahs to a new level, with this Bollywood aspect,” she told India-West. “India is something a lot of our viewers have not experienced.”
---

LOL's at the title. Subtle, reeeal subtle.

So it looks like they're done with CG3, since I saw The Cheetah Girls in the audience dancing along to Fantasia's performance of "Bore Me" at American Idol's Top 3 Results Show this Wednesday (5/14).

By the way, LOL at the Fantasia performance. If you didn't see it, I strongly recommend YouTube'ing it this instant. Check out Simon's expression at 2:57. LMFAO!!!

And now we sing, dance, and throw around basketballs Indian-style =P

---

I promise I'm coming back to write another post this weekend. I already have a new post in the works as we speak. =)

High School Musical 3 Gears Up

High School Musical 3 is in full gear! It has supposedly started filming just about now, and the cast can be found everywhere talking about it.

Ashley Tisdale took some time to speak to US Magazine about reprising her role as Sharpay recently. And surprise, surprise - Sharpay is going to be just as manipulative and just as much as a drama queen as she ever was - and she's still going to try to grab Troy (Zac Efron) away from Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens).

DRAMA!!

But don't expect it to be exactly the same as the first two films. This one is "more amazing, more exciting, and much bigger!"

(Does that mean solo dance numbers more ridiculous than "Bet On It"? I hope so! That made my life in the last movie!)

Ashley also mentions that the film will "include prom and graduation." Yeah... so I'm pretty much having a ridiculous image of them breaking out into a dance number once they all receive their diplomas.

Now time for the unfortunate news.... looks like Jared Murillo, Ashley's dancer boyfriend turned singer, won't be returning for the third installment. Guess he's focusing all his attention on his new band, the V-Factory (one word about the name: LOL). I'm sad, because spotting him in the dance numbers always amused me (and I know we already went over the fact that I'm very easily amused).

Anyway, still looks like HSM3 will be released in theatres October 24, so mark your calendars!

More Disney Upcoming Projects

Yeah, so I knew there had to be more things on Disney's plate than my last blog post, so I just wanted to make yet another update regarding upcoming projects that DON'T have to do with the Disney Channel...

1. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian - It looks like Disney wants to create the Narnia films in order of CS Lewis's publication dates, not in true chronological order. Chronologically, Prince Caspian is meant to be read fourth in the seven-book Narnia series. However, it was the second novel CS Lewis published back in 1951, after The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (which is actually meant to be second chronologically in the series, after The Magician's Nephew). Wow, talk about confusing!

Anyway, the four Pevensie children (William Moseley, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, and Georgie Henley) from the first Narnia film will be making a return in "Prince Caspian," as will Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan the lion and Tilda Swinton as the apparition of the White Witch. Unfortunately, James McAvoy won't be returning as Mr. Tumnus. Sadly. Honestly, when I realized Mr. Tumnus was James McAvoy at the end of last year, I cracked up like you wouldn't believe. I was in the "Atonement" mindset and just thinking about him as a fawn was way too awkwardly hilarious.

The story of Prince Caspian will follow the four Pevensie children as they return to Narnia and try to help young Prince Caspian (played by Ben Barnes) claim the throne from King Miraz, his corrupt uncle. Mmm, please tell me Prince Caspian will have a British accent. Please?

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian will be released in US theatres on May 16. Also, rumor has it that Imogen Heap will return to perform a new song for the soundtrack! LOVE HER! I highly recommend her latest album "Speak for Yourself" - it's great!

2. Beverly Hills Chihuahua - LOL WHAT IS THIS. Supposedly, one of Disney's September releases will be Beverly Hills Chihuahua, which is a story about a pampered chihuahua from California named Chloe who gets lost in Mexico on a vacation. While in Mexico, she meets a German Shepherd, a young puppy, and other characters along the way who help Chloe find her way back. Drew Barrymore is going to star as Chloe, and Andy Garcia and George Lopez are her new canine buds. Other actors in the film will include Salma Hayez, Cheech Marin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Piper Perabo, and Nick Zano.

Personally, this sounds a little "Homeward Bound" meets "Paris Hilton" to me... does it not? Yikes.

3. Bolt - Yet ANOTHER digital animated film from Disney, this time about canines (AGAIN). Bolt is a canine television star who portrays a superhero character - and consequently believes his superpowers are real. One day, he suddenly finds himself stranded in his trailer in Nevada. There, he meets up with a female cat and a hamster with an obsession with his exercise ball, and they convince Bolt that his superpowers are actually NOT real. Bolt will star John Travolta, Susie Essman, Bernie Mac, Woody Harrellson, and other big name stars; it is expected to be released in November this year.

Alright... no comment about that one... except what. the. heck?

Usually I'm not a big fan of Disney's computerized animated films, unless they're created by Pixar (and even then, I'm not a huge fan either - the only Pixar film I ever truly liked was Toy Story... don't even get me started on Finding Nemo...). So it's safe to say I'm definitely not excited about this film.

On another note, WHAT is the status on "The Princess and the Frog"? I've been patiently waiting for this movie FOREVER it seems. Disney already made a successful princess comeback with Enchanted, so what are they waiting for?

4. Raven-Symone: Talk about a fierce album cover! Raven's new self-titled album, which features the remake of Double Dutch Bus, is already described as much more energetic, dance-friendly R&B album than her last album back in 2004, This Is My Time. I totally believe it: Double Dutch Bus is much more "get up and dance" than Backflip ever was!

The album will be released on April 29. Raven's next single off the album will be "Stupid," so look forward to that! I'm sure Radio Disney will play it to absolutely NO END in the coming weeks. :/

That's it for now, although I'm sure Disney has TONS more projects planned as well! I can't tell you how many times I got "fooled" today - I am the most gullible person you could ever meet... tell me anything and I will probably believe it. The GMail prank was pretty hilarious, I have to admit.

Anyway, on to Disney news.

Well, first off, I'm going to go a little off-topic for a few seconds.

1. I just wanted to tell you guys to listen to Alabina if you haven't. I don't know if they've come up with any new music, but I used to listen to these folks a lot when I was in elementary school. I'm not sure how I came about listening to them again; I just had this strange urge to look them up on IMEEM suddenly. It's a mixture of Latino and Middle Eastern sounds, and it's addictive. Their songs have been in my head for DAYS!

2. If you haven't seen 21 yet, I recommend watching it! My school is pretty much in the entire movie, and you can even see my dorm! (Well, from a distance at least). Oh, did I mention that Jim Sturgess is in it?! Or possibly that it's a really good movie? =D

Here's some eye candy.

3. To all you Anne of Green Gables fans, my friend recently informed me that this summer, Prince Edward Island is going to have a gigantic extravaganza to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the series. OMG!! It's like my childhood dream come true! I loved the series when I was little and actually started re-watching the films/re-reading the books only a few weeks ago! I loved Anne's quirkiness. And Gilbert Blythe. =P

For a fun Anne-related video, click here!

Anyway... back to Disney news. Here are lots of new Disney projects coming up soon that you should look out for.

[1-3] JONAS BROTHERS PALOOZA

1. Camp Rock: Disney's newest DCOM is supposed to air on Disney Channel on June 20 (three days before my birthday!) I haven't seen any promos for Camp Rock yet, as I don't have the Disney Channel in college. Verdict? Looks good? Looks bad?

2. J.O.N.A.S.: The Jonas Brothers continue to reign on the Disney Channel it seems. This newest show, which features the JoBros as musicians who are actually undercover spies, is rumored to air on the Disney Channel in the fall. So basically... Hannah Montana is a regular girl who also happens to be a popstar. Now, the Jonas Brothers are popstars who also happen to be secret spies. Wow, Disney. Just wow. The premise for these shows just keep getting more and more ridiculous.

3. Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream: This will be one of Disney Channel's short series (similar to As the Bell Rings, I guess). The title seems pretty self-explanatory... a documentary of the lives of the JoBros on tour? Who knows when it's going to start airing, although I'm assuming probably in the summer.

(Honestly, WHEN did the Jonas Brothers become so popular, and WHY? They seriously came out of nowhere.)

[4-6] OH, RIGHT - OTHER THINGS EXIST IN DISNEY TOO

4. The Cheetah Girls 3: The third installment of the Cheetah Girls will take place in India and will be sans Raven. It is expected to air on Disney Channel in August, similar to when the first Cheetah Girls aired. I admittedly liked the music in The Cheetah Girls 2... the music was catchy and something I could work out to. Hopefully the music for the third one will be good as well... if it's Bollywood-type of music I would die of happiness. BRIDE AND PREJUDICE, ANYONE?

5. High School Musical 3: As probably all of you know, HSM3 will air in October and will be in theatres, not on the Disney Channel. Okay, I admit I LOVE my HSM, but I love it on my TV screen. They better be stepping it up a notch if they want to put this in the cinemas. Already, I think they did a pretty good job by denying Ali Lohan (hallelujah! yuck) and casting the British Jemma McKenzie-Brown as sassy Mini-Sharpay and Matt Prokop as Jimmy. But they'll need to do more..

6. Wall-E: This newest Pixar film will be released on June 27 (four days after my birthday!). If you don't know the story, it's about the last robot on Earth, who had to deal with the Earth's rampant consumerism and the large amount of trash as a result. The poor guy has to pick up all the trash by himself! I dunno... it looks, interesting I guess.

Alright, that's all I know at the top of my head. Be sure to keep reading for another update, because I'm sure there's a LOT more going on!

A Lucky Florida Kid Wins Disney Trip Around the World!

Sigh... I NEVER win any prizes, ever. Actually, I did win a raffle yesterday at an event - which was surprising and awesome, considering that odds are always against me in those types of situations.

Well, one Florida kid received a HUGE prize from Disney last year, and all I can say about it is wow... talk about a SAH-WEET deal!

Joshua Peterson, an 18-year-old from Florida, won Disney's "Grand Marshal World Tour," a trip to visit every single Disney theme park in the world! Oh. My. Gosh.

Supposedly, Joshua was at Epcot last year when he left one of the rides. Suddenly, some Disney workers came up to him and told him that he won the world tour prize as part of the Year of a Million Dreams! Talk about being at the right place at the right time! Seriously.

So starting this Wednesday (April 2), Joshua and his family will be off to Disney World again, visiting all four theme parks. Then they'll be off to Anaheim, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris! Definitely not a bad deal, considering not only is he visiting the theme parks but also visiting some of THE coolest cities in the world!

Can he hook me up?! It's not too late yet!

(I'm only kidding -- well, to an extent! I'm totally jealous!)

Anyway, hope Joshua and his family have fun on the trip! Disney's Year of a Million Dreams continues to amaze me with all its perks and prizes...

Kitson, Kitson, Kitson!

Ashley Tisdale REALLY likes Kitson.

No, REALLY. Lately, East High's favorite priss has been either carrying those gigantic blue Kitson bags everywhere or wearing apparel from the store (which, for those of you who don't know, is located on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills.)

Personally, I'm kind of glad. Kitson has kind of been associated with the likes of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears for the most part, which is pretty negative in my opinion. This is, of course, especially considering that I love shopping at Kitson myself, and I don't want to be associated with liking a store that trashy celebs shop at. Errr... yeah. For those of you who personally know me, you're probably ALL too familiar with my brown Kitson sweater, or maybe even my various Kitson shoes or flip flops... or possibly that pink Rainbow Brite t-shirt that says "Kitson is for Cuties"? And last but not least, my camera purse which is a joint effort with Kitson and Harajuku Lovers? Yeah... I'm a little obsessed. Just a little.

Part of my love has to do with, well, their apparel. Let's just say it's "streetwear at its finest." But at the same time, another part of my love for Kitson has to do with my love for celebrity hunting. I won't deny that the two times I've gone there (of course, I don't actually live in LA, so I can't exactly go there all the time; rather, I mostly shop online if anything), I've been hoping to run into a celebrity. Robertson Boulevard (which also is the home of The Ivy) has been known to go absolutely HAYWIRE whenever there's a celebrity around, and I've always wanted to experience the crazy paparazzi madness, just because it's just SO ridiculous to me. But alas, no. Every time I've gone to Kitson, the street has been dead - seriously, extremely quiet.

Indeed, it's never been anything like the following video with Ash Tizz herself... maybe that's a good thing? When celebrities come, they probably shut out the store anyway so other people won't come in. What's the fun in that?

This video kind of reminds me of that time the Super Bowl was in Houston (back in 2004, the infamous Janet Jackson year), and all the celebrities came to Houston and were shopping at the Galleria. The news was going insane... "Madonna spotted at Starbucks in Uptown Park! Clay Aiken spotted in the Galleria!" HAHA. I will never forget. I went with a couple of friends of mine to the Galleria to celebrity-hunt, and while we were unsuccessful for the most part, there were a few stores where there were CROWDS of people fighting to get a look in the inside of the stores because there was supposedly a celebrity there. I think for one instance, Eminem was in Louis Vuitton or something. The crowd of people was INSANE.

I guess that's Los Angeles all day, every day.

But yeah, overall I'm glad that people like Ashley, and even Emma Watson, have started heading over to Kitson to shop. I was really getting sick of all the publicity regarding Paris, Britney, and Lindsay Lohan, because it frankly made it seem like I liked Kitson because I wanted to be like, well... one of them. Which is totally NOT the case at all. I like Kitson because the sweater and the shoes that I wear are genuinely comfortable and I genuinely love wearing them. And if along the way, classier celebrities become associated with the store, that's even better for me!

Aww look, what a Kitson-ified R2C... (sweater and shoes)

...and please don't ask why I'm sitting on Spade Cooley's star. I really couldn't tell you...

More photos of Ashley Tisdale at Kitson are here.

Disney Channel Stars Are "Just Like Us"... Part Deux

Ooh, two posts in a day! Fun.

Okay, so a few entries back I posted tons of videos that Disney Channel Stars made/starred in on YouTube.

Well... I've got some more!

I had known about some of these videos, but had completely forgotten about them when I made that post. Hence... "Just Like Us," Part Deux! If you haven't seen the first one, go a couple of posts back and check it out!

Also, I know that most of these are really old videos. However, I wanted to mention ALL of them and not leave any of them out, for completion's sake.

First off, we have the ZAC CAM, featuring Zac Efron back in 2005, when they were filming the first High School Musical. Awww, they were so adorable and young pre-fame!

Next, the Sprouse twins jump on the YouTube bandwagon! Here is Cole Sprouse (also known as Cody) in a "Not So Suite Life Mockumentary."

Then, there are some videos of the High School Musical cast goofing around during their concert tour back in 2006. The videos are supposedly being recorded by one of Lucas Grabeel's good friends who tagged along on the tour to make a documentary.

And hereeee is the first one of those! I totally love the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and "come on, getcha head in the game!"

Anddd... this is Lucas in front of the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas REPRESENT!!

Speaking of High School Musical in Houston, I can't resist but to put up a shameless video of my sister and I at the HSM concert, which was being taped for the DVD back in December 2006. Yep, we're on this video probably four times. Please watch. And laugh. Yeah, I know all the lyrics and moves, got a problem with that? ;)

1:47, 2:29, 4:17 - pay attention to those times!

Ashley, Vanessa, Miley to Appear on Idol Gives Back

So it's been announced that Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Miley Cyrus will make appearances on American Idol on April 9.

Say what? Have the East High Wildcats taken over the Idol stage? Will there be a Gabriella/Sharpay catfight? Is Hannah Montana stopping on tour for her latest concert?

Nah, Disney's leading ladies are appearing on the show to support Idol's charitable organizations during the show's second annual Idol Gives Back episode. They'll be appearing alongside other huge superstars such as BRAD PITT, CARRIE UNDERWOOD (ahh, love her!), Chris Daughtry, Fergie, and Bono for a night full of memorable performances, heartfelt videos, and charity raising.

Last year, it was a tremendous success and Idol was able to raise a whopping $70 million dollars for people in poverty in Africa as well as those who were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Just goes to show how darn popular this show has become.

But in case you missed last year's Idol Gives Back (or you don't watch American Idol to begin with) here's how it all went down. People voted for their favorite contestants as they usually do during the show. However, during Idol Gives Back, News Corp pledged to donate ten cents for each vote received towards the fund. Given that each show tends to bring in around 30 million votes on average, Idol would be receiving tons of donations from News Corp - and sure enough, they did, as Idol actually received 70 million votes that night!

On top of News Corp's donations, other sponsors of American Idol, such as Coca-Cola, Ford, Exxon, and AT&T, would donate their own significant sums of money as well.

The money received went to charities such as Save the Children, Children's Health Fund, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, America's Second Harvest, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, UNICEF, and Nothing But Nets. I encourage you guys to please check out all their sites.

Idol also had filled the show's two hour segment with some huge top-name performers, including the ever-lovely Carrie Underwood (major love), Kelly Clarkson, Earth Wind and Fire, Rascal Flatts (ahh! Love them too), Josh Groban, Fergie, Green Day, Celine Dion, and other artists. Ben Stiller and Ellen DeGeneres also made appearances. It was basically... HUGE.

This year, the premise is going to be similar, and our own Baby V, Tizz, and Smiley (or... Slimey, whatever your preference) will be alongside the Idol contestants and other big stars. I'm not sure if they're going to be performing or just making appearances, but it's still totally worth it to check that episode out because it's a great cause.

On another American Idol note, GO DAVID ARCHULETA and MICHAEL JOHNS!!! Michael is Australian, enough said. And little David A. is the sweetest thing ever and I love his voice. I can't believe he had vocal paralysis, awww. And funny enough, he's kind of Disney related... he goes to Murray High, the school where they filmed Minutemen. Cool!
