College Fair

Kip and Lori volunteered to help the Admissions Officer at a college fair in Austin. It’s an important part of our club leadership to be involved in recruitment as well as scholarship fundraising. Hopefully, a few more Austin students will select Miami (and Miami will select them, of course) so that we can hold a big Summer Sendoff in August!

We are going to place a second tshirt order! Place your order by Tuesday, April 16th to get a shirt.

We have less money in our alumni budget this time, so we tweaked the process:

shirts are $15
you must pre-pay to reserve a shirt (use the link below)
the extra couple of bucks from each shirt will still be donated to a Miami scholarship fund
payments will still be processed through As You Wish photography’s merchant accounts
upon printing/shipping/arrival, shirts will be available for pickup at most Austin Canes events

We have tip-off time for Sunday’s (March 24th) game against Illinois, so here are the day’s events:

10am – brunch at Blackfinn
7pm – pre-game at Blackfinn and then a game watch for those without tickets to the game
7:40 – tipoff at the Frank Erwin Center for those with game tickets

So, whether you have tickets or not, please join us for brunch and/or pre-game.

Miami in the NCAA Regionals in Austin

It’s great to be a Miami Hurricane in Austin!

Our Miami men’s team is coming to town on Friday to play in the basketball Regionals, and we have a great party spot planned for visiting alumni. Join us, our friends from Dallas & Houston, and other visiting alumni and fans.

Friday, March 22

11am – join us at Blackfinn Ameripub for a pre-game Gathering
1:10pm – tip off at the Frank Erwin Center
after the game, head back to Blackfinn for some celebrating and socializing

Sunday, March 24

Assuming we beat Pacific on Friday, we’ll play Round Three on Sunday.

10am – brunch Gathering at Blackfinn Ameripub
Round Three at the Frank Erwin Center; tip off time TBA

Need Tickets?

Call 305-284-2263 to purchase from Canes Ticket Office.
Join the Hurricane Club for $50 (or more) and purchase through them. There is no ticket limit through them.
You can also purchase from UT’s box office. There is a limit of 9 tickets through them and they are currently selling the entire Regional, not just our bracket.
Or, through a third party site.

Sections 21 and 22 are slated for Hurricanes.

Community Service Activity – Canes Clean Up

The Elves have been out de-decorating. Just a handful of trees left!

Let’s de-decorate the trees along 360 before the spring winds turn it all to litter!

January 20th, 2013

Clean Up: 1:00-2:30pm (…on the Southbound side of 360, just north of 2222 ramp, on the cliff (look up) and right before the new apt complex and close to their entrance.)

Social Time: 2:30 –? beverages (Waterloo)

Once again, please wear your Austin Canes tshirts and take plenty of photos! Keep Austin Canes Weird!
