Austin's Awesome Army

2015-08-17T16:31:00.000-07:00

Wow I can't believe it took me so long to post!

The walk was a huge success this year. We raised over $2,000 and donations are still being made. This year we had a great turn out. It rained the first part of the walk which always makes things fun-well fun for the kids. :)

My school is filled with amazing people and a friend there had new shirts made with the Angelman logo and website. The staff was able to buy them and the proceeds from the shirts went towards Austin's medical bills.

It was such a blessing to our family. The staff was also able to wear the shirts on Mondays.
I loved seeing Austin's Army shirts all over the building.

Thank you to all our friends and family who are always there to support Austin.

Love you guys!

Happy Birthday Summer!

2015-06-02T17:54:00.002-07:00

For Summer's 8th Birthday she wanted to have a bowling party. It was such an easy and fun party. She invited some girls from her class and her besties from the street. Isaac was able to come with Nanny and Poppy-which made her birthday even better.

And this girl did awesome in the Wildcat Olympics placing 2nd in her grade level with 12 laps around the track a total of 3 miles!

But she was in for a surprise when they drew the raffle prizes because they picked her name for Principal for the day. She couldn't believe it and it made me laugh and cry to see how excited she was. She was able to be the Principal for one whole day and they even bought her lunch. She loved every minute of it and that she got to go into every teacher's classroom.

Summer you are going to do amazing things!
You are so sweet, caring and smart!
We love you bunches.

Mardi Gras 2015

2015-02-21T20:45:00.000-08:00

We had the best time last weekend in New Orleans celebrating Mardi Gras. The kids loved staying with Nanny and Poppy and getting to spend time with their cousins. Already looking forward to next year!

Saturday Night!

Sunday Fun!

A special shout out to Aunt Nini-thank you for getting Summer to the front of the crowd and showing her the best time ever. You ROCK!

2015-01-02T16:49:00.000-08:00

How is it already over? Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas. We sure did! Spending time with family and enjoying our two weeks off from school has been so nice. The kids were blessed to get everything they wanted!

Meet Katy

2014-12-12T18:08:00.001-08:00

This post is long overdue like all my posts. We got Katy back in July and have enjoyed having a puppy back in our lives. The kids love her to death and now that she is potty trained I love her too! She is lab/bulldog. When we got her she was 4 pounds and now at 4 months she is 32 pounds. Summer picked out her name after Katy Perry and Kate Gossling (don't ask) HAHA

Halloween Fun

2014-12-12T18:08:00.000-08:00

Had to post the pics of Summer and Luke on Halloween as usual they had fun and got way too much candy-that needs to go in the trash. They picked out their costumes this year. I ordered them three different times and the order finally got to us the day before Halloween. Luke's zombie doctor was so big it would have fit Chad so we went to work and used the dr. scrubs he already had and added the parts from his giant costume. Summer was spidey girl which is random but she fell in love with it as soon as she saw it.

Morning Basketball with Austin

2014-10-16T15:55:00.001-07:00

Chad took this video the other morning while waiting for Austin's bus. Austin stops during the video because a bus goes by but it's not his. I love it!
Go Austin Go!

While searching for this video I found one I never posted.

Meet the Teacher and 1st day of PK, 2nd and 4th!

2014-09-01T08:05:00.001-07:00

How has the school year already begun? The kids were ready to go back to school. We met their teachers the week before school started. Summer's best friend is in her class for the third year in a row-So they were super excited. Luke has the same teacher Austin and Summer had. But he hasn't found the love of school that they have. Hoping it will get better for him soon. This is Austin's last year with his rock star teacher and paras. I don't even want to think about that.

I started my new school and I love it!!!

First Day is always hard to get a pic of everyone since I leave way before they have to get ready.

Rudy's Stone

2014-09-01T07:45:00.000-07:00

I recently contacted Karen from K-Dub Designs to make a memorial stone for Rudy. Her work is amazing and she is super talented. We love being able to see his cute face all the time.

That little bit next to Rudy's stone is Katy.

Her post is coming soon.

A Busy and Fun Summer

2014-07-31T14:09:00.000-07:00

We have had a great summer and I hate that it is coming to an end. Summer and Luke were able to spend some time at Grandma and Paw-paw's and then a week with Nanny and Poppy. Austin had summer school which he loved because Trista was his teacher. We have been swimming at the pool and going to Wet and Wild every week. It is such a fun place and Austin is able to have a good time too. We even made a family trip to an Astros game which will be a one time event. :)

And this kid is starting to play better than his dad!

A sad time for us.

2014-07-08T20:17:00.004-07:00

Our sweet Rudy passed away last week. We found out three weeks ago that he had lymphoma. They gave him three weeks to four months to live. Unfortunately he went to heaven last Thursday. Our hearts hurt so bad and each kid has processed it in a different way. Many tears were shed and we so wish Austin could understand why his best friend is no longer here with him. Rudy was a mess but he knew how to treat each kid the way they needed to be treated. Austin was his pal they got into so much trouble together and took a bath together every night. Rudy was Austin's clean up crew after every meal. Summer and Rudy were so loving to each other. When he wanted to cuddle he found Summer. Luke and Rudy made a great match. They would play, wrestle, chase each other and explore. Whatever Luke wanted to do Rudy was right there with him. It broke our hearts when Luke cried out he's my best friend-my only friend! Uncle B picked out the best dog for our kids and we are truly thankful for that. Rudy stuck by Chad's side he knew who his master was. And with me only after dark we were friends. He loved sleeping in my spot every night.

We will miss you Rudy!

His short three and a half years in pictures.

Lake House Trip

2014-06-20T18:59:00.002-07:00

We kicked off summer with a trip to the lake. We had a nice week. The weather was overcast which made the water so cold. At one point Summer wrapped up in her towel and played on her Kindle in the car while we swam. Austin would have stayed in the lake the whole trip. I swear Chad and Austin are immune to the freezing water! Funny story we were feeing the ducks Cheetos and Austin was swimming around with the ducks stealing the Cheetos before they could get to them. He's a mess!

Luke continued to feed the deer day and night so they should be giant when we go back.

We also made a visit to the capitol. It was a great trip!

Target practice-not deer!

Pet Day

2014-06-03T12:15:00.001-07:00

Summer had Pet Day at school today. She wanted to take her hamster Bella. I cleaned the cage and got Bella all ready for the event. This morning Chad was looking at her cage and said Bella is not in her cage-WHAT? I was freaking out and so was Summer. We started looking in closets and under beds but we weren't having any luck. Last place we checked was the drawer where we keep her food-and there she was.

BIG RELIEF!

Luke's Fun Bus Birthday!!

2014-05-31T15:08:00.000-07:00

For Luke's 4th birthday we rented The Fun Bus. We kept the party small because you never know with Luke. His only request was to not sing Happy Birthday and he didn't want a candle in the shape of a 4. Go figure!

The kids had an hour of non stop fun.

Happy Birthday Luke-we love you very much!

Another Awesome Walk!

2014-05-28T18:19:00.000-07:00

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who donated and walked! We rocked the new shirts and our donations raised $1,800 for the foundation!

Get ready for a picture overload.

And this awesome Aunt ran in Galveston since she couldn't be with us at the walk. Love it!

Easter 2014

2014-05-20T20:36:00.000-07:00

Happy Easter!

We had a fun filled day of worship and spending time as a family. What a great feeling that one day will be reunited with our loved ones and our King!

Go Summer!

2014-05-20T20:12:00.001-07:00

Summer has been a busy girl. She recently had her school field day-Wildcat Olympics. She was determined to run the most laps in first grade. Her total was 13 which got her 3rd place. She was so proud of herself. She also had another piece of her art picked for the district Art Festival!

Happy Birthday Austin!

2014-04-10T16:19:00.000-07:00

How can Austin be 9??? I had to share the pictures his teacher sent on his birthday.

Austin you are our wild child-thanks for making our life full of laughter.

A Sweet and Sassy Birthday!

2014-04-06T19:24:00.000-07:00

This year Summer had a spa party for her and 7 friends. They loved every minute of it. The girls were all so good. Summer is one lucky girl to have such sweet friends.

Here they are being pampered.

Happy 7th Birthday Summer.

We love everything about you little girl.

Spring Break

2014-03-26T06:23:00.002-07:00

We survived Disney! For Spring Break we were able to take Summer and Luke to Disney World for four days. We had such a fun time. It was a lot of walking and waiting but the kids were troopers well Summer was at least. There were so many rides and shows that we enjoyed.

We took over 250 pictures!

Day 1-Hollywood Studios

Jake is the only character Luke would go up and take a picture with-so glad I bought him his own autograph book.

Chad's Favorie-Star Wars

Day 2-Magic Kingdom

Day 3-Animal Kingdom

Our Favorite.

And we got smart and rented a stroller!

The kids won these bats playing a carnival game.

They were so proud.

We loved DinoLand!

Summer was tall enough to ride Expedition Everest-she is a roller coaster loving girl.

On every ride photo they took of us I am looking at Chad and the kids.-haha

The kids being silly at Bug's Life

And this is what the kids would have been happy doing the whole trip. Feeding the ducks that sat by our hotel door, swimming in the pool and playing on the beach.

And a BIG thank you to Grandma and Paw-Paw for watching Austin. We are truly thankful for you both and all that you do for us.
