We photographed another awesome couple for a Bob Bullock Museum wedding. Emily and Nick had so much fun! Emily had Kelly of The Fairy Godmothers to help her coordinate the wedding planning and wedding day and every thing went perfect. LuAnn and the gals over at Verbena Floral Design did an AMAZING job with the flowers and decorations. Emily chose Judy Lee of Simon Lee Bakery for both their wedding and groom cake. They both lived in Austin at one point or another, but initially met each other in college at Georgetown University.

Thanks to Lauren at Vintage Villas, Simon Lee for making a yummy cake, and for Petal Pushers for providing the amazing and unique purple and fuschia flowers and decorations.

Austin wedding photographer Hooked On Photography had the awesome opportunity to be invited to the Spring 2011 Open House at Vintage Villas. We got to hang with many of our favorite vendors, including Stephanie of Bouquets of Austin, Judy of Simon Lee Bakery and wedding cakes (their chocolate ganache cakes are to DIE for) and Becky with Pearl Events of Austin. My personal favorite rental vendor of choice,Premier Party Rentals, offered some beautiful pink and teel-blue accents and linens.

I just can’t believe how green and lush they are able to keep the grounds at Vintage Villas despite the lack of rain this last winter. Why can’t my yard be this green? From the many images, you can tell that all sorts of flowers are in full bloom. I was really impressed with how lush the arbor (secondary ceremony site) was and how many flowers cover the entire area.

We had the opportunity to visit potential Austin brides and display some of our recent Austin wedding photography from some of Austin’s most awesome wedding venues. We also met with some new vendors, including florist and wedding planner Sara Moulder from Bella By Sara, a florist in Dripping Springs. She is so sweet, and I’m sure she’s going to be awesome to work with in the future. She asked us if we could photograph her wedding floral arrangements and candy stations, and I happily agreed. Here is some of the amazing products that she can deliver to her brides. I really loved the look of the vintage jars for all of the candies and sweets, and I loved what was inside of them, too!

I just came back from the Texas Wedding Mall bridal show in Austin, Texas. They had various wedding photographers there, including myself. I was sorry to see that some of the future brides who came up to my booth gawked at our prices. It’s too bad, because there are only a few days in life that you remember, and one is your wedding day. Would you want to go cheap on paying someone to capture all of those moments? That’s why I am so honored to have the privilege and to be trusted by our clients for me to capture their day. I have done it consistently for 6 years now.

Here’s a reminder on why you should never skimp on wedding photography.
