I was honored to be asked to photograph the temporary reception facility for Barr Mansion, since the original facility had burned down earlier in the month. It really breaks my heart because I just photographed a wedding there in May. I know that they have since then made some more awesome upgrades to the temporary facility.

Hi folks – I’m sorry that I haven’t blogged in a while, but we have been so busy with portraits and weddings. I hope to catch up sometime soon. Anyway, while I’m here, I just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to my wife, and thanks SO MUCH for Judy at Simon Lee Bakery for remaking our YUMMY wedding cake for our anniversary – chocolate ganache with chocolate mousse filling – it’s a REAL DELIGHT! If you are in need of an idea for anniversary gift to your loved one, why don’t you give them a call to make an awesome and yummy cake for you!

I came across this article about the day in the life of a wedding photographer. I find it interesting that many people don’t seem to realize sometimes what is totally involved in running a business, including time and cost. Many clients wonder ‘why is it so expensive for wedding photography?’ or ‘why do I charge so much for a print when I can just go to Walmart or Costco and get it done cheaper?’. Typically, it boils down to quality and time, and I have some mouths to feed and bodies to clothe!
