Or not even in the USA. But it doesn't matter. Not that the lives lost are any less because they weren't that close to me, that isn't the point.

The point is, ya'll screwed up.

You may disagree with our foreign policy, our freedoms, or even our religion. But why the heck does that give you the right to blow innocent citizens up.

And saying that your god allows you to. That he wants you to. That he will reward you for it. Even for a radical form of a religion. It sucks.

The God I know loves all people. Those that even don't know him. Those that some might call enemies based on foreign policy differences or anything like that. And according to the weather experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA for short as us weather fiends like to call our friends that track the hurris) summer solstice is tomorrow. June 21st is the first day of summer, this year. Some years if you didn't know the SS (Summer solstice for you non-weather fiends) can be on June 20th. Amazing stuff right.

Vernal Equinox Mar 20 2005 7:34 AM EST
Summer Solstice Jun 21 2005 2:46 AM EDT
Autumnal Equinox Sep 22 2005 6:23 PM EDT
Winter Solstice Dec 21 2005 1:35 PM EST

There you go. In the quote box. The proof. And if you wanted to know there is the 411 (no idea why I just said that) on the equinizzeys and the other solsticy. Yeah us weather peeps got nicknames for our boyz. Holla.

If you are confused I can't really help.

sol·stice
n.

Either of two times of the year when the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator. The summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere occurs about June 21, when the sun is in the zenith at the tropic of Cancer; the winter solstice occurs about December 21, when the sun is over the tropic of Capricorn. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the winter solstice is the shortest.

A highest point or culmination.

There is the down low on solstici. I could look it up, but I don't feel like it. But even before it starts, its half over. At least for me. Football starts the first day of August less than 6 weeks away. No day can go by without me getting better.

I have to get better. If I want to contribute to the team. I have to get faster, bigger, stronger. I love football and would hate to just stand on the sidelines.

But the still short summer left is going to be a crazy one. Find another house. Pack up and move once again. I am a nomad, should never even unpack. In fact I haven't ever done that completely. I still have boxes in my room stacked against a wall.

Whoa, was this a hectic past year. But it will continue.

What I want to do this week.

1. Keep working out and running ie getting better for football
2. It was my brothers classmates for ten years. I am friends with some of the people, I have watched them grow. It was weird. I have been to a cousin's graduation before, but there I only knew one person. And I was young, I really don't remember anything special about that ceremony.

But last night was weird. Just thinking about those people's futures, what they were going to do. Would some of them ever become more than what they were in High School. They may have been cool for the past 13 years in this small town but are they ever going to do something. Something of substance.

Would they be in jail in a few days, weeks, months, years? Would they go to college, junior college, ITT tech? If so would they ever graduate? And then get a post graduate degree? Would they do anything with that education?

Who might die in a car crash or become and alcoholic if not already one?

And it was hard to be glad for most people. It was just high school graduation, is that an accomplishment. Those that graduated with high honors it is, becuase they worked hard, or knew who did. Those that weren't supposed to graduate it is an accomplishment. That is who it is really big for. And I salute those people. Is it an accomplishment to pass at the last minute after years of laziness and slacking off. To rush and retake a class on a computer the last week, or retake a final because of grace and pass.

Is it an accomplishment for a kid who you never thought would get it done because of his attitude to somehow get by. Does it mean anything when they had been holding back their whole careers until they needed it desperately.

Before the ceremony I was scouring the crowd looking for familiar faces in the large crowd. I was sitting in the upper deck of a very large church filled to capacity smiling at those I knew and wondering who those were that I didn't. The uncles and the grandparents of those same kids I just mentioned. They were there unknowing of the person they were there for couldn't have cared less until the last minute. Only put the minimal effort in to make sure they received that piece of paper that a school board member handed them in a few minutes.

During the ceremony I tried to remember moments that stood out in my mind for most of the graduates. The good, the bad, the ugly. I may have laughed at the air horn blasts, the cowbells, the hooting and hollaring. I really didn't think of it as distasteful. I just laughed. Some of it was sincere, most of it was made to get laughs, making fun of those who do it for real.

But I thought of those who really think that high school graduation warrants an air horn blast. Does it? If someone overcomes hurdles in their way, yes. If one works extrememly hard to accomplish something big such as finishing at the top of the class, recognition is due. But do those same few that just did enough to get by, to they deserve anything.

And after, I began to think. How many of these people will I see again?

Not that all of them I really want to see or deal with again. But really, how many of them will I even see again, let alone talk to again. I didn't see one graduate after the ceremony. They aren't at school again. Some will stay in our little town, others will go to colleges. And even if you go to that same school you aren't guaranteed to see them again. I won't have any reason to see them again, no reunion for me, no events for me to see them at. I don't party with them, or see them in social situations. The few I used to go to church with, I do no more.

So will I ever see them again? There are some people I find humorus. Or just like to be around. Others that are good for conversation and some that are just friends.

Then as I found our car I just laid in an open parking spot at the back of the large lot. I laid and stared into the street light, and thought. In two years this will be me and my friends. The people I won't be seeing again were my classmates, my friends, people I am even closer too.

The new found Texas heat hit me at the same time this hit me. It was a weird feeling, I thought of how to make the best out of this time I had left, or how to see some of the outgoing seniors I liked. And even I wanted to make sure someone was obnoxious at my ceremony, or what I could do to be stupid, or what I would give a speech about if I finish as valedictorian or salutatorian.

People drove by and stared. Most or all had never seen me before, and wouldn't see me again. And they wondered what the hell I was doing. And I did the same? I was bewildered.

2 more years. It couldn't be, and it will only speed up from here. Its not that I am not ready to leave this prison that we call a town. Or move on to bigger or better. But it is the fact that I may never see some people that I have known for so long. And not because they died, or I died. But because something happended that we consider an accomplishment, and someguy with a baseball cap on blew his air horn.

/out

Hooray...

Mavs won last night.

Dirk finally played amazing, Damp played well. The school SMU says that the blog was not a factor claiming they really didn't know the author was their employee. But the truth of the matter is that it was a factor.

It had to be.

She spoke harsh words against her employer and told personal stories about professors or students that cast a negative light on SMU.

She writes stories about the uber-rich students that fit every stereotype giving to the rich. SMU didn't like that. She wrote about things students told her about that were going on. The rich kids addicted to drugs, selling them out of their dorms. The meth lab in the basement of a university building. The professor that has run over people with his SUV, twice. The "Ashleys" as she calls the rich girls, you know who I am talking about, and their eating disorders.

Nothing was off limits. But she changed the names, never mentioned the school. For all we know it was complete fiction. But it wasn't, slowly people became warm to the situation. Students found out, the situations seemed too familiar. The rich whiny brats and their suppliers, their parents read the posts, they found them horrible. And no doubt they called the university and threatended to retract their million dollar a year donations. So what happened?

The disposable professor got canned.

Read this, she says they are all true. Pretty funny stuff.

Things students have said in my office:

"My greatest fear is dying alone and being eaten by my cats."

"My boyfriend said everyone is sexually flexible. I think he might be gay."

"I'm pregnant and I don't know what to do."

"The third time I got a DWI, I realized I had a drinking problem."

"Is it date rape if you know the guy?"

"The company offered me $30K -- and with what my father gives me that's only $60K a year. Who can live on that?"

"I'm not spoiled! I only drive the cars my dad gives me."

"Her prom dress cost five grand... and it's yellow."

"You know that guy in the class? Brad? He asked me to come over and study with him and when I got to his apartment, he was wearing a towel and said he just got out of the shower. Then he dropped the towel and asked me if I thought he had a big dick."

"I'm doing the project with Michael so we met at his apartment. Um, he's a bit too affectionate. I mean, we were just supposed to be doing PowerPoints."

"My father's been missing for three days. He's probably dead by now."

"The girls in my sorority house are all cokeheads."

"I haven't been in your class for two weeks because my doctor diagnosed me with a disease... (dramatic pause)... acid reflux."

"Back in Louisiana, my dad is a plastic surgeon. He did (major pop star's) implants. He signs his name on them. So I guess my last name is walking around inside her chest right now."

Well sad situation. She probably shouldn't have been writing that crap, maybe it is unethical. But if she wrote a book, which she plans to do. It could be published and be considered ethical.

What is the difference?

Phantom Professor. Not really, somewhat. School is coming to a stop, thank you. Summer is about to get rolling, thank you.

Mainly I really haven't found anything in my noggin worthwhile to post, or even if I did I didn't find the necessary drive to spend the five minutes typing it into this little box. That or I was afraid I would spend time getting something good up here just for blogger not to work and end up losing it.

I am not complaining. This is a great tool. And for the cost (free) it is amazing. But just another excuse for me not to post.

But now that I am here. Lets get it going.

Sports related crap.

Rangers started going again had one 5 in a row. But now it is over for now. Twins win today. The bullpen was tired of being good and had to lose this one. Rangers lost another chance to move into first place. But still hanging in. Now they head to Chicago to face the red hot Sox. No not the red Sox. The White Sox. Who at this point in the season are red hot. Get it? Good.

Kenny Rodgers has pitched 30 innings in a row without giving up a run. He will try to continue it this Friday against the Stros. If rotation predictions are right he will be facing Rodger Clemens. And I am going to this game. Hooray for me. Neither pitcher has been getting run support to help their sub-2 ERAs. Should be a fun quick game.

Mavs-I will not get it started. I am just to emotionally involved. Game 4 tonight.

9 days of school left. This is a good thing. First week of June I am jetting off to south Florida. The beach is calling my name, and I am answering it. Oh how I love the beach. When and If I become rich I will at least have one house on the beach somewhere. And I will spend most of my time there.

Maybe I will have something better to post.

Oh and good news. Rumor from some Entertainment site is that Arrested Development is just getting extened. It is getting 2 seasons. This came from a candid quote from star Jason Bateman, something about the show was having "twins". As long as one of those twins is a next season I am happy.

/out

Game 7 tonight...

Well Dirk had another off game and the Mavs as a team couldn't make crap in the 4th. So the result is we have to go to a game 7.

It is going to kill me, even if we win.

Dirk needs to have a big game. He admitted he has been sick, but he has been off. He's been playing good D and snagging boards like crazy, he just needs to get his shot going.

Another key, Stackhouse and Terry need to be clutch again. Houston will be looking for them this game, so they will have to make "contested" shots.

T Mac angers me. Hopefully he won't single handedly beat the Mavs tonight.

Yao, I am not concerned about the big Chinamen. He is going to score some baskets, but he is also going to get tired. As long as Damp doesn't get in quick foul trouble he will be able to slow Yao down and get offensive boards. Which he has been doing.

But the key to winning tonight for the Mavs is making sure the no bodys don't beat 'em. Mike James, Bob Sura, Jon Barry, David Wesley. These types. In the games the Rockets have won, this is who has beaten them.

Official prediction.

Mavs 112-Rockets 104

I would love to see a blowout, and not a close game. I just don't think I can make it through tonight without breaking something if it comes down to the last second.

/out

Smart crimes...

This seems pretty smart for criminal activity.

Those euros are pretty crafty.

Fake ATMs. Genius. Hopefully.

The funny thing is the Mavs are going to win this series without Dirk being huge. Prepare for mass smitings at the hand of the mighty Dirk. Strikes of deep ranged lightning. The pounding of rumbling slams. The quick strike of the fade-away. The slashing steals and stampeding swats back in the face.

The Dirk may be awoken.

The New Nick Van Exel is on fire. Jason Terry, number 31, black, headband, long socks, clutch. Thus he is NVE. At one point you are up 10-2 cruising. Rod Barahas hit a grandslam. Then the sixth inning comes up. 6 straight hits given up, 5 runs.

10-7. You score a few more runs, the bullpen gives up a few more runs. 12-10. Coco comes in, game over. 7 Saves so far for Coco.

Laynce Nix played his first big league game this year. A big reason he wasn't on the roster to start the season was last year he couldn't hit with runners in scoring position. Tonight 3-3 with RISP, 3 singles, and 3 RBIs. Laynce looked great tonight.

Hopefully this will not be an outlier, this should be the norm. Adrian Gonzales went back down to OKC which I think is fine. Look at it this way.

Adrian was under 200 batting. He hit two homers and showed some promise, but he is not getting to play everyday. Let him do what they let Laynce do, get at bats. Let him play all the time. Which he will at AAA, he needs everyday at bats, and this is good. He wasn't being used that much up on the big team and more time couldn't hurt.

Well I hate to go more into this horrible game. But a win is a win.

/out

Say hello to the win collumn...

Rangers win today. Pedro Astacio finally got the help to back his great pitching so far this early season.

He went 8 innings and allowed no runs, only 6 hits. Coco came in and shut the door with two strikeouts. The pen really had no time to blow the game.

3-0. Dellucci had a big game offensively if that can be a big game. Two runs scored and a couple of hits. Rangers didn't really hit the ball all to well, but Astacio was good enough it didn't matter.

I will try to do this thing more often. Pen blew it again. Hopefully that will not happen again tonight.

Yesterday's game was ugly. Rangers got blown out, well they scored some runs in the end but not enough. RA Dickey got bombed again, and apparently tweaked his back and or shoulder. I hate to see people get hurt, but RA needs to be in OKC. I would love to see him do good, but he is not doing that right now.

Tonight, CHAN HO PITCHED VERY WELL. He allowed only 3 runs, had good strikeouts, and for the most part, except Chone Figgins, kept the ball in the Ballpark, a very hard task.

I applaud Chan Ho and hopefully nothing crazy will happen and he will get the win.

It is the ninth now. 3 outs to go. No save opportunity for Coco, so he may not come in.

Rangers should win, Rangers would move to 4-5 while the Angels would fall to 5-4. Man monday's game pissed me off. Kenny pitched amazing and the pen blew it again. Well hopefully with Almanzar and Fransico returning the 7th and 8th will be more solidfied. Coco needs to get rolling again too.

Brocail comes in for the ninth. Amazing play by Soriano for the first out.

Grounder straight up the middle, Sori sucks it up running the other way jumps and lazers the ball over to Tex to barely beat the runner. 1 out.

Molina flies to Hildalgo, 2 out.

Tom Grieve just said something I never heard. "President Bush was a pitcher on the Yale Freshman team." That is awesome.

Dang, Izterus just got a stand up triple. Still one more out needed. Well now with a walk, and the tieing man on deck, it is a save chance. So in comes Coco. Hopefully he'll shut the door, and help my Fantasy team out.

Coco 1-2 to Erstad.
