News is hot, Royal Enfield – company behind the Bullet series has launched two variations of the Bullet Classic model in India. Bullet Classic 500 and Bullet Classic 350 are both Jumbo bikes and retain the classic look Royal Enfield’s are known for.

Both the bikes have Unitary Construction Engine and fuel injection. The Classic 500 and 350 will be the first Royal Enfield bikes in India to have this feature. In the previous bikes, the engine and transmission were separate, but Unitary construction of the engine means that the engine and transmission have been combined into a single unit.

Many Royal Enfield Bullet fans that didn’t like the wheels on previous motorcycles will be happy to know that the new Classic 500 as well as the Classic 350 have 18-inch wheels. Both look equally awesome and classy.

Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500 is able to produce around 27.2 BHP at 5250 RPM and a maximum torque of 41.3 NM at 4,000 RPM whileas the 350cc sibling produces 19.8 BHP at 5250 rpm and a maximum torque of 24 NM at 4000 RPM. Both the motorcyles feature electronic fuel injection as well as electronic start.

On the launch event, Royal Enfield said, “blending yesteryear’s charm and today’s technology, the Classic is a tribute to the glorious machines of the past and is ready to roar into the future.” However charm and technology don’t come cheap. Both the bikes are pretty expensive. The cheaper and lesser powerful Bullet Classic 350 comes at a price of Rupees Rs.98,800 ex-showroom Delhi while the more expensive Bullet Classic 500 EFI is priced at Rs. 124000 in Delhi.

As times passes, we get to see amazing cars that are designed to perfection. However, there are still people who can’t help but turn their cars into a joke. These 20 cars are bizarre and we can’t help but laugh and scream – “What were they thinking?”

We see hundreds, if not thousands, of cars every day. Cheap cars and Ferraris, sedans and SUVS, we have see them all. However, there are cars we get to see very rarely. These cars, although very few in the world, are something no one wants to sit in except, of course, their makers. Ranging from bizzare to awkward, you will see all these weird cars on this page. Some are, no doubt, very-very unique – that doesn’t make them less sucky. Without further ado, let us list them:

Note: Images link to their respective sources.

1) Tubular Car

TotallyTubular was presented in 2008’s Houstan art parade. This care is plastered all over with tubes.

2) Bug Car

Probably inspired by Starship Troopers, this car is made into the shape of an ugly bug.

3) Art Car

This car, named the Art Car by its uploader on Flick looks like some sort of bird cage.

4) Star Car

Shaped as a star, this car’s engine lies on the rear wheel. However it is impossible to say whether there is a steering wheel or not.

5) Jawa Sand Crawler

This might be the reason why Tuskens from time to time succeeded in raiding a Jawa sand crawler.

6) Skull Car

The Tata motors also has plans on launching this sheap car in the US market by 2011 or 2012. Ratan Tata, chairman of the Tata Motors thinks that his diminutive machine might sell in the United States. The economy of course will be one of the reasons why Americans will want to compromise on the some og=f the aspects of car and the Version lauched in the U.S will differ in many ways from the version to be sold in India.
You might rather be amazed at this. The world’s most expensive car is not SSC Ultimate Aero and neither the Bugatti Veyron, but it is a 82 Year Old Bugatti Type 57S Atalante, one of only 17 made in the world. The car belonged to an 89 year old doctor who left the Car to his Nephew and Niece as per his will after he died. Experts believe the supercar could be worth up to £6 million. Eccentric Dr Harold Carr, who died without ever marrying or having children, left the run-of-the-mill garage with the rare car locked inside to his relatives. If it raises its reserve price-tag of £3m it will have increased 3352-fold in value from the £895 Dr Carr paid Jack Barclays for it in 1955. The Other previous owners of this of the unique cars include Le Mans 24 hour race winner Earl Howe and Northumberland gentry, Lord Ridley. Car experts have described the find as one of the last great ’barn discoveries’.

Aston Martin has chosen the much huped Geneva 2009 Auto Show to announce its latest offering, an Aston Martin DBS Volante. Aston has reduced its structural rigidity and added more than 250 pounds to the package, while also carving out room for two more “passengers” and keeping claimed performance the same. The Volante’s electrically operated cloth top disappears under a handsome metal tonneau. Up/down operation can occur at speeds up to 30 mph and takes just 14 seconds. Aston has placed the top’s hydraulic pump in a special enclosure to keep nasty noise and vibration from the occupants.

There has been some buzz going along from quite some time now about the Porsche Panamera which will be released to the world in 2010. It is called by some as the most enthusiastic car by Porsche. The Porsche Panamera sedan will start at $89,800 when it is unleashed in the U.S. on October 17, 2010. The 2010 Porsche Panamera comes with a 400-hp, 4.8-liter V-8 and PDK dual-clutch automated manual gearbox. The PDK will be the only tranny available on U.S.-spec Panameras initially. The Porsche has defined this can as “The symbiosis of sports-car DNA derived from the looks of a coupe, the unique interpretation of the classical sedan body and the benefits of a variable space concept give the new Porsche a truly unmistakable appearance.” Porsche says the S version of this Car which costs a little more than $90K—plus destination fees and a likely gas-guzzler tax, will sprint to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds and top out at 175 mph. It will come with a 400-hp, 4.8-liter V-8 and PDK dual-clutch automated manual gearbox. The Mid-Range Model of this series, Panamera 4S, will start at $93,800 and is estimated to got to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 175 mph. The range-topping, 500-hp Panamera Turbo will have a pre-fee price of $132,600. Also equipped with all-wheel drive and the PDK transmission, the Turbo should give the rear-drive, 518-hp Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG a run for its $135,225 sticker price. Porsche says the Turbo will run to 60 mph in four seconds flat and have a top speed of 188 mph. We have clocked the S63 to 60 only as quick as 4.5 seconds. Now for the images, here are some of the latest interior images of the 2010 Porsche Panamera.

The news is hot, Yamaha is here with another of its great bike to rock the Indian market. The launch of the new Yamaha FZ 16 right after a few months of R15 is a sure Indication that Yamaha is very serious. In this preview, I have written a brief description of all the features of this bike. As soon as I get my hands on one, I will be writing a road test review of this bike.

The launch of this aerodynamic-looking, sporty, yet rusty mobike is going to please one and all bike lovers like you and me! While I say sporty, believe me I also meant that Yamaha FZ 16 is also designed by Bike manufacturing Giant Yamaha Motors keeping in mind the rugged and crater-filled Indian roads. The motorbike is believed to shake the entire two-wheeler segment market of the Indian automobile industry. With its launch Yamaha as a company will in no time get synonymous with the youth of the country and will mark the beginning of a new era. The premium bike maker is all set to roll the dice in its favor posing tough competition to Apache, Pulsars and Hunks.

Yamaha FZ-16 mobike is set to take the generation next by storm with several unique features, while the basic design is adopted from earlier series of FZ, though. With its diamond-shaped frame, this mobike is different with its killer-like looks and originality. It can really snatch away second glance from every person on the road.

The craftsmanship and engineering feat of Yamaha is revealed as you take a close look at the minute details of the vehicle, if I have to say it’s crafted to perfection.

If you are the one who would first give vote for style, look and color, well let me tell you that FZ16 is rightly branded as the ‘Lord of the Street.’ The motorcycle reflects power, strength and dynamism from any angle of view.

This Lord of Street is available in bold colors of flaming orange, midnight black and lava red. The kerb weight of the vehicle is 126kg, with a length of 1975 mm, height of 1045 mm and a width of 770 mm.

The engine of Yamaha FZ-16 is a bi-valved 153 CC, air-cooled, Single Overhead Camshaft Engine (SOCE). It gives an envious output of 14 PS and the peak torque it can generate is about 13.6 Nm. The pickup speed of this toy is mindboggling and an electric starter will only be a kicker (I didn’t mean you need to kick start this). Yamaha FZ-16 breathes through a BS26 carburetor and is neither fuel injected nor oil cooled; but working under negative pressure.

Fuel tank: The 12-liter fuel tank is built of stainless steel but has an outside plastic cover to give that molded look and reflect the perfect dynamic and muscular image of the vehicle. The tank has integrated shrouds and an eye-catching exhaust.

Brakes: Who likes those ol’ brakes? Well my vote is for disc brakes and there is a large disc brake on the front side of the vehicle that helps with great braking power and high-end balance to ride it. If you ask me if any downside, I would say that there is no rear-end disc brake in the Yamaha FZ-16.

Suspension: Suspension is the thing that impressed me like hell. The Mono-cross suspension at the rear, inner tubes in the front, hydraulic forks of diameter 41 mm provide excellent shock absorption typical of Yamaha craftsmanship and gives all the riding pleasure during those long drives for the rider and the pillion. Not to mention adding stability to the bike as well.

Tyres: Both, rear and front end tyres are tubeless with rear-end tyre having aspect ratio of 60 per cent. The advantage of tubeless tyres are, on being punctured it is less susceptible on getting flattened (I assume you know it also reduces the kerb weight of the bike as well). Yamaha FZ-16 has the fattest rear-end tyre with specifications as 140/60-R17, while that of the front tyre is 100/60-17. Which means the balance is perfect!

Headlight: The multi-reflector headlight with transparent lens on the front side provides with perfect illumination.

Dashboard: Yamaha FZ-16 sports fully digital speedometer and all other measuring indicators including the odometer, fuel gauge and the tachometer that have a characteristic of Liquid Crystal Display for clearer vision.

Performance: It’s from the Yamaha portfolio, so you can expect a performance par excellence with respect to the start-up speed (the company says 0-60 this bike gives the best time. The running speed of Yamaha FZ-16 overtakes all with its unprecedented torque. What more? it comes priced at Rs. 65000 (ex-showroom). Additionally, the gear ratio provides with awesome agility and optimum performance on the Indian roads. It’s gotten a spacious seat, so you don’t have to worry off your over-sized butts!

The new Yamaha FZ 16 is going to rock the streets! Are you game for it?

Yamaha FZ 16 Specifications:

The all-electric Model S developed completely by Tesla, is not only looking slick, but sporting some enticing specs. Down the grape-vine they are saying it could get approximately 240 miles per charge, zero to 60 in less than six seconds and run for about $60,000. The Tesla Model S is targeted for 2011 according to Road and Track.

BMW is always at the forefront of vehicle technology, and this time round they are at the top of their game once again. BMW Group Research and Technology and NXP Semiconductors have teamed up to release a prototype of the world’s first multifunctional car key. This prototype comes with contact-less payment, personalized access control, and advanced functions such as public transport e-ticketing. All these features are meant to deliver an enhanced mobility experience – as if traveling around in a BMW isn’t already an enhanced experience by itself. Guess the car key is no longer a tool to start your vehicle, but enables one to perform quick, secure and convenient electronic payments with a car key.

BMW forsees a future where car owners will be able to perform contactless payments for ad-hoc transactions like general shopping, paying for gas, public transport, parking and road tolls, doing away with the need to carry cash and extra cards. Guess this makes it a whole much safer affair to move around without worrying about getting mugged, although things get much more complicated if someone steals your car key. The car key will function as a personalized credit card and enables future customers to securely gain access to personal data and be authorized for personalized in-vehicle online services in any BMW vehicle that they own or drive. In addition, the personal credit card key can also be registered on a temporary basis with other cars.

This new smart key prototype will rely on NXP’s SmartMX P5CD081 series which comes with smaller antennas compared to standard smart cards, making it perfect to integrate into a wide range of different form factors. Well, the next thing you know, your cell phone will not only function as a credit card but car key as well.

Now that the Volt’s out of the bag, we take a closer look at the car that’s got GM all charged up.

GM just turned 100 years old, and at its birthday gala in Detroit in September, GM gave the world a long-awaited first look at what it’s calling the “production” Chevrolet Volt, a car upon which the future of the world’s largest automaker rests.

Proud as we are of GM for getting by for a century, we’re not piling on the presents in the form of unqualified praise and optimism about the Volt, which will start rolling down GM’s Hamtramck, Michigan, assembly line in November, 2010. After all, we remember the 1996 GM EV1, an electric car that proved only that electric propulsion wasn’t ready for prime time.

With the splashy reveal safely behind us, we’ve taken several opportunities to look more critically at the Volt, studying the design, crawling around inside, and interviewing—make that interrogating—many of those responsible for making it a reality, including Bob Lutz, vice president of global product development, and Jon Lauckner, vice president of global project management. They all promise a game-changer certainly for GM, and over time, possibly the world.

Still, a reality check is in order.

Design: Bye-Bye, Gangsta-Mini. Hello, Sensible Sedan.

The “production” Volt seen here has garnered its share of criticism on account of its styling, which has changed vastly from the gangsta-chopped mini sedan look of the ballyhooed Volt concept into a more slab-sided, wind-friendly design that relies on intricate lighting graphics and trim pieces for its cool factor. Frankly, we think it comes across pretty awful in pictures, but we can attest that it appears well proportioned and convincingly cool in person: the details indeed carry the day.

But will all those details on the “production intent” car actually make it to, you know, production? We’re told by Lauckner that pretty much all of them will. The intricate headlamp elements, for example, will remain as a signature identifying mark of the Volt, he says, although the actual illumination technology could change. Ditto the taillamps, which will probably become LEDs. A touch more chrome could be added around the paneled-off grille. Certain surfaces, such as that of the hatchback’s high rear spoiler, could change by a millimeter or two. But the “raccoon-eye” window treatment—an homage to the funky glass windows of the Volt concept—will stay.

In any case, however, the Volt shouldn’t look perceptibly different than the one you see here, according to both Lutz and Lauckner. And that’s a good thing—most of us that have seen the Volt’s numerous clever details and pleasing road stance in the flesh wholeheartedly approve. And GM says it’s a design that takes on different personalities in different colors. We look forward to seeing them all.

Room for George, Jane, Judy, and Elroy—but not Astro

If any car should have such a Jetsons-inspired interior, the Volt is the one. Still, even circa 2011, the Volt’s futuristic space should raise the bar in term of cabin high-techiness. If the exterior’s signatures are the headlamps and black “window liner,” the interior’s is the cool, shiny “iPod console.” In lieu of buttons, it features “capacitive touch” controls, similar to the interior lighting and glovebox controls in the Jaguar XF. It’s a little gimmicky, we think, and might require a bit too much of the driver’s focus to use when whirring along at 70 mph, but is nonetheless bound to wow everyone in the neighborhood the second they sit down. Above those controls lives a separate, fixed seven-inch touch-operated infotainment screen that mirrors the similarly customizable gauge display in front of the driver.

The T-shape arrangement of the battery pack renders the rear seat a two-butt space only. But if you didn’t tell your rear-seaters, they would never know that there were batteries under their armrest (Sorry, Astro, you’re gonna need to sit on the armrest or lay down under the cargo area glass). The rear seats will fold down, too, allowing for a long cargo floor, albeit one a bit far from the ground.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing a Ferrari Challenge Stradale run, you’ll know that there are few sounds like it in all of autodom. When revved towards its 8,500 RPM redline, it takes on a raspy snarl that makes the regular Ferrari 360 V8 sound positively tame in comparison. Now just imagine taking that sound and multiplying it by 21. You see, 21 Challenge Stradale owners recently got together in Southern California to celebrate this special edition F-car, and in the process may have set some kind of record.

Arizona had claimed a record a while back when they had just nine of these beasts in one place at one time. Whether or not that was official, the 21 cars that turned up in the L.A. area last weekend clearly have it beat. It’s the most we’ve ever seen at once so until you can show us otherwise, we’ll award them the blue ribbon. After the Carrera GT drive last month, this was a nice follow-up.

After the jump you are going to see and hear these cars in action, but before we get to that we wanted to point out that within this pack there were examples in black, silver, yellow, TdF and Bugatti blue, as well as two different shades of Rosso. Such diversity.

Texas-based Ronn Motors are out to spoil their customers and that too in some style. But just to make sure their horsepower-happy cars don’t leave a bad fume in the faces of fellow planet dwellers, the firm’s brand new eco-luxe-initiative, the Scorpion, hopes to deliver the best clean, green fun to eco-conscious car lovers too. Running on a 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine VTEC from Acura, the Scorpion also features two turbos and an intercooler under the hood that takes it from 280 hp to 450 hp. The hydrogen fuelled engine connected to an on-demand hydrogen system that breaks down water molecules and holds them in a non-pressurized tank which eliminates the need for a hydrogen refueling station. Between 30 and 40 percent hydrogen gets mixed with the gasoline allowing the Scorpion can do 40 mpg.

And what’s even better is that the eco-exotic car can also perform too taking its 2,100-pound frame from 0-60 in no more than 3.5 seconds. All this eco-goodness costs a cool $150,000, but for a planet-loving luxury-lover, it’s quite a bargain!
